Chapter 7

Korra woke up inside a cell. She looked around, finding a way out. She saw Zia approaching her. She held onto the bars of the cell.

"What do you want from me?"

Zia looked down at her, glaring. "I want you to feel how I felt. Powerless. Unaccepted."

"Why? I didn't do anything to you." Korra said.

"Oh really? You don't remember? Well, shall we go back to the past then?"

Before the first Keyblade War even started, back in Daybreak Town, I was born. I had it all. I was the apprentice of the Master of Masters. He taught me everything along with the five Union Leaders; Ira, Aced, Invi Gula, and Ava. Years went by and I finally got to meet my Grandfather, otherwise known as Xehanort. The Masters of Masters explained to him of what I was capable of. Then in an instant, Xehanort took me under his wing. I trained with him every day. But then, that day came. I thought I was ready. I went out to fight my own battle. I was told not to but I did. I sought out to find a Dark Heart. I thought I could do it. I thought I was strong enough. I was wrong. I stood there, weak. My Grandfather looked at me with such disappointment that I didn't see what was about to happen. He fractured my heart with his Keyblade. I laid there, weak and useless.

I remember turning my head to the side and there you were. You were my look alike. My twin. A twin full of light. My light. I saw Xehanort pick you up and took you away. I never saw you both again.

Zia was now glaring angrily at Korra, her eyes piercing. "That's when I realized. That's when I knew. He wanted me to be in the darkness. He never wanted me to be the light that you are now."

"But Zia... I don't remember any of this." Korra said.

"Of course you don't! You only remember the good memories! Not the bad! when I had enough strength, I followed your light. I followed you to the Chamber of Waking. And when I saw you... I knew you were the one I needed to kill. You took everything from me!"

"Zia, if you and I are the same person, then we can work together."

"No! I'm done trying to be good. From now on, only darkness is my path. As for you," Zia paused and looked at Korra. She them smiled slyly. "I will take what should have been mine all along!"

With her arm outstretched towards Korra, she used her dark magic to take away all of Korra's magic. Korra yelled in pain as she felt her magic being stripped away. She fell to the floor, her body weak.

Zia looked down at herself, feeling her power grow stronger. She smiled down at Korra.

"Now. I will kill your precious Lights."

Zia left the room, her laugh echoing across the castle's stone walls.
