Out at the quay, Mandy was just about to check the ocean rescue centre when she passed by Charlie, she decided to ask him if he knew where Sarah was. It had been half an hour since Norman, James and Mandy went looking for her. "Hello, Charlie." Mandy said as she entered the Cafe.
"Hello, Mandy. Looking for Sarah, are you?"
"Yes, you haven't seen her yet?"
"Not since Bronwyn left for your house, but I heard that she was at Sam's house."
"Oh, what happened?"
"Well, I think she crashed her go-kart after Norman had loosened the pieces before the race started."
"Oh no, is she ok?"
"Yes, she'll be fine."
"Ok. Thanks, Charlie. See you later."
"You're welcome Mandy."
Charlie went back to clearing out the dustbin from the kitchen and Mandy went to find Norman and James. He was thinking that Sarah might've been hurt from the crash.
Back at Sam's house,
Penny was still checking over Ellie who had been ill for a few hours. She was surprised that Ellie would be feeling like she was when she first arrived. Ellie was still resting while Penny was taking her temperature, it had come back reading 39 degrees celsius which was the same as the first time. "Uh, Penny. I need to tell you something." Ellie said.
"Ok, what is it?"
"Well, I need to tell you this because I don't know if Sam would be ok with it."
"Sure, I'll tell him later. Right now you can tell me."
Ellie looked at Penny, she didn't want to hurt their feelings about what she was about to tell her. "I'm scared of needles." Ellie added sadly.
"Really, because I feel like Sam is afraid of them too."
"Do you really think so, Penny?"
"Yes, Ellie. I'll be here if it needs to happen."
"Thanks, Penny."
Just as Penny placed the thermometer back in the empty cup, Ellie began to reach for the bucket on the left of the bed. Soon, she threw up in the bucket and had tears in her eyes as she never felt like this before. "Oh, Penny. Why do I feel very ill? I was resting while you were busy with Sarah, now I feel it happening again." Ellie asked as she placed the bucket back on the floor in the same spot.
"I don't know, Ellie. Don't worry, Sam and I will find the best way to make you feel better."
Penny placed her hand on top of Ellie's to reassure her that she'll be alright. Ellie soon began to look very upset, she felt Penny's hand which was soon keeping her calm. It was nice of Penny to help her new friend. "Thanks, Penny. I'm just worried that it might be worse. Sam came by after I had the Terrible dream." She said sadly.
"I know, Ellie. You still have a fever, and I don't want you to make it worse. So, you should rest until I come back, maybe Sam can come too."
"Ok, Penny."
After Penny had started to walk for the door, Ellie had soon gone back to resting. Penny looked back and smiled. She went back to find Sam and Sarah in the sitting room, they were just starting to make some dinner together. "Hello, Sam. Hi, Sarah." Penny called
"Hello, Penny." Sam replied.
"What's on the Menu tonight, Sam?"
"Well, I'm making some of my favorites which would be a nice pizza for all of us to enjoy."
"I smell some chips too."
"Yeah, I put them in the oven right now. They should be ready soon."
"Ok, I think I need to tell you something about Ellie."
"Alright, I'll be there in a minute."
Sarah was helping her uncle Sam set the timer correctly. Once it was set, they went back to the sitting room and sat on the sofa. Sam decided to find out what Penny had to tell him. "What is it, Penny?" he asked.
"Ellie would need to tell you something, she already told me, but I think she would want to know if you would be ok with her telling you."
"Sure, I'll be there right now. Can you stay with Sarah for a while?"
"Ok, Sam."
Penny sat on the sofa with Sarah while Sam went to talk to Ellie. Sam was thinking about what she was going to tell him.
Meanwhile,
It was soon getting dark in Pontypandy, Bronwyn was coming back from the Flood's house after lunch when she saw Charlie out near the counter. She had seen the text from Sam after Sarah crashed her go-kart. "Hello, Charlie. Have you heard from Sam?" she asked as she walked in the door.
"Yes, I heard. Sarah crashed her go-kart outside his house at the front door. I'll be picking her up later after dinner, care to join me?"
"Of course, Charlie. Uh, have you seen James?"
"Oh, Mandy came by looking for Sarah. I told her where she was. But I haven't seen James yet."
Just as Bronwyn was getting some dinner ready, James came back. He was feeling much better after Mandy told him that his sister was at Sam's house. "Hi, Mum. Hi, Dad." he said as he sat at the table.
"Hello, James." Bronwyn replied.
"Is Sarah going to be alright?"
"Don't worry, James. She'll be fine."
"I hope she's alright, Mum. I had to look for her all over Pontypandy."
"Oh, I see. Well, I'll be picking her up later from your Uncle Sam's house later."
"Ok, Mum."
James soon went to find his video game while Charlie and Bronwyn cooked dinner. It had been 3 hours since Sarah had been at her uncle Sam's house after she had crashed her go-kart.
Back at the Fire Station,
Elvis was working on some dinner for him, Arnold and Station Officer Steele. Arnold was on the computer filing a report for the kitchen mishap that Elvis had with the stew, Station Officer Steele was in his office reading the letters from HQ and Chief Fire Officer Boyce. He was surprised by the amount of letters he had. Just as he was storing the letters in a bin on his desk, Arnold came in with the report about Elvis' kitchen problem. "Here you are, sir." Arnold said, handing him the report.
"Thank you, Arnold. Also, I need to tell you and Elvis something in the kitchen."
"Yes, sir."
Arnold and Station Officer Steele walked up to find Elvis cooking some Spaghetti. They were surprised at how he managed to cook it without burning it. "Well, I say. Marvelous job there, Cridlington." Station Officer Steele said.
"Oh. Thank you, sir." Elvis replied
"Right, with Sam, Penny, and Ellie off duty for the next 3 days, I want you two on high alert. I know it wasn't a good idea, but it's what I had to do. I gave Chief Fire Officer Boyce a heads up about this."
"Yes, sir" they said together.
"Very good. Carry on, then."
Station Officer Steele walked back to his office while Arnold helped Elvis with the dinner for them. He was thinking about if Ellie was ok, he didn't want to see one of his firefighters very ill.
Out at Sam's house,
Sam went over to talk to Ellie while he was waiting for dinner to finish cooking. Ellie was resting when she heard the door open, she soon woke up to Sam beside her. "Hi, Sam. Did Penny send you here?" she asked tiredly.
"Yes, Ellie. She did send me here. I heard you needed to tell me something."
"Yes, Sam. Were you afraid of needles when you were in the hospital?"
Sam never heard Ellie ask him a question like this, he had forgotten he was scared of needles. So, he decided to tell her. "Of course, Ellie. What makes you think that?" he asked.
"Well, I told Penny about this and I'm not sure if you would understand, but I'm scared of needles too."
"Oh, I see. I can say that we have one thing we don't like. Right, Ellie?"
"You're right there, Sam."
Sam was about to tell Ellie about how he was first scared of needles when he heard the timer go off. He knew his dinner was ready. "I'm sorry, Ellie. I have to eat dinner now, I'll tell you more later, ok?" he said as he began to head to the kitchen.
"Ok, Sam. See you later."
Ellie went back to resting while Sam went to join Penny and Sarah in the kitchen for dinner. Sam was beginning to think that Ellie had been scared of needles before she joined the fire service.
