1 WEEK LATER
It's been one week since The Joker kidnapped Sonic the Hedgehog, Batman has been tearing the city apart looking for him, while the other heroes continue their search for the Chaos Emeralds and The Infinity Stones, Batman, Amy, Nightwing and Shadow have been looking for the missing hedgehog. While Amy has been asking around, Shadow has been relying on G.U.N the government agency he works for, to find any leads, unfortunately they have never dealt with The Joker before and don't know that if he doesn't want to be found, they won't find him. While Nightwing has been searching day and night, Batman has been going to every place he can think of to where Joker may be or to places people may know where he will be. Batman tossed a thug out the window, then shoved him to a wall threatening to break his arm.
BATMAN: I'm gonna count to ten. One, Nine!
THUG: I swear to god man, he ain't been around.
Batman applied pressure to his arm, the thug screamed in pain.
BATMAN: SWEAR TO ME!
THUG: OK, OK! LOOK HIS BROAD HARLEY QUINN CAME BY EARLIER, AND SHE HANDED ME THIS LETTER, IT'S IN MY POCKET I SWEAR, THAT'S ALL I KNOW!
BATMAN: IF YOU'RE LYING, I'LL BREAK THE OTHER ONE!
THUG: Other wha… ARGH!
Batman broke the thugs arm and took the letter back to Avengers Mansion with a letter instead of a hedgehog. It's been one week since he was taken and to add to the list of problems, the villains have been quiet as well and there have been no signs of either the Emeralds or the Stones, things weren't looking too good.
AVENGERS MANSION
Ever since Sonic was taken Tails has lost it, he has bursts of anger at random times and if he isn't looking for the Stones and The Emeralds he is either sitting quietly in his living quarters or crying himself to sleep because of his worry for his big brother.
Knuckles hasn't been good either, he can't focus on his tasks and spends most of his time in the training room with Hulk and Superman. The rest of Sonic's friends are worried sick, Batman had promised them that he was going to find him and bring him home as well as making Joker pay for what he's done. This reassured them as Batman would not come back until late at night after searching for the blue blur, this solidified the fact that Batman was a man of his word and was going to keep his promise, even if it kills him. Batman arrived back at the mansion with a look of sorrow and determination on his face, Tails and Stark walked up to him and asked.
TAILS: Anything?
TONY: Did you find the kid?
Batman shook his head but held up the note and said.
BATMAN: I didn't find him, but hopefully I found a clue, Harley Quinn left this for me, hopefully it has some information on where Sonic is.
Batman opened the letter and it had an all too familiar address on it.
BATMAN: Crime Alley.
TAILS: Could that be where Sonic is?
BATMAN: No, it's never that simple with The Joker, but there might be something there that might lead me to him, I'm heading there now, I intend to keep my promise to you Tails.
Just as Batman was about to leave Amy spoke up.
AMY: Wait! I'm going with you.
BATMAN: Rose no, it's too dangerous, you have no idea what The Joker is like, you could die.
AMY: If there is a chance we could find Sonic then I'm going.
TAILS: Might as well Batman, you could use some back up, besides once Amy sets her mind on something, there's no changing her mind.
BATMAN: Fine, but I'm not babysitting you.
AMY: I don't expect you to.
And with that the pair headed out to find Sonic and stop The Joker.
CRIME ALLEY
The pair arrived at Crime Alley in the Batmobile. The pair stepped out of the vehicle only to find a giant present in the centre of the alley way. Amy went to approach it but was stopped when a giant clown jack in the box with a straight jacket busted out of the box with a timer in its eyes counting down from 5. Batman quickly grabbed the girl and protected her from the blast with his cape. Once the dust cleared Batman walked over to the remains of the clown only to find a straight jacket on the floor. Batman knew what this meant and said only one word.
BATMAN: Arkham.
ARKHAM ASYLUM
As The Batmobile crashed through the Arkham Asylum gates the vehicle drove up to the main doors to the asylum and the pair of heroes stepped out of the vehicle, Batman kicked the doors down and entered the abandoned asylum with Amy following close behind. They stopped as they heard Harley Quinn singing a lullaby in the distance. Batman motioned for Amy to take the upstairs route to gain high ground on the situation. She obeyed and went up the stairs while Batman went down the hallway leading to Harley. He reached a set of doors and kicked them down only to see Harley holding a pot of flowers singing. She notices Batman and calls the Joker.
HARLEY: PUDDIN' COMPANY!
Joker looks down from his newspaper while sitting in a chair in an old house set in an upstairs area smiling down at the dark knight.
JOKER: Hello there. Welcome to our happy home.
Joker said as he came down the stairs and held Harley in his arms.
Batman looked un amused and got straight to the point.
BATMAN: WHERE'S SONIC!?
JOKER: Sonic? There's no Sonic here.
Amy made it up to the rafters and watched the scene play out.
HARLEY: Maybe he means our little JJ.
JOKER: Of course that's it!
Joker says as he snaps his fingers.
Batman looks over to see a secluded area hidden behind a curtain and starts to walk to it.
HARLEY: Ah ah, no peeking.
Harley pulls out a bazooka and fires it at Batman causing him to be wrapped in giant wrapping paper and stumbles to the ground. Amy was about to intervene but Batman motioned her to stay in position, she obliged.
HARLEY: Mommy's little helper.
Joker then kissed Harley on the cheek.
JOKER: You know Bats we've been doing this little runaround of us for years, it's been loads of laughs but the sad fact is, none of us are getting any younger.
HARLEY: that old clock's a-ticking
JOKER: Quite right, pooh. And Harley and I were thinking it was time to start a family. Add a Joker Junior to our merry brood.
HARLEY: But rather than go through all the joy of childbirth… we decided to adopt.
JOKER: We couldn't do it legally so we thought about using a Robin, but then I remembered that the first one is Nightwing and… we both know what happened to Jason Todd hehehe. But then I remembered that small little hedgehog that helped you earlier. So I borrowed him.
Joker pulled back the curtains to reveal a green skinned hedgehog lying in a table smiling.
BATMAN: No.
AMY: Sonic?
JOKER: He needed a little moulding of course what kid doesn't, but in time we've come to love him as our own say hello JJ.
Sonic smiled at the dark knight revealing himself. His fur is green like The Joker's hair, his gloves and shoes are purple and the strap on the shoes are green, his shoe buckle is green as well. His once peached skin is now white like The Joker's skin and his eyes are bloodshot and his lips are red just like Jokers. Sonic jumped from the table and began to laugh.
SONIC: Hehehehehehehehehe hehehehehehehehehehe hehehehehehehehe
AMY: No.
Batman had seen enough and broke from his restraints and threw a batarang at The Joker, but he dodged it and began to laugh.
JOKER: Hehehehehehehehe hahahahahahahahaha HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
Joker laughed as he jumped on the table Sonic was on and it drove away as Batman followed behind. Sonic looked up at the rafters curiously. Just as Harley did Amy jumped down and hit Harley with her mallet sending her across the room. Amy then went to Sonic.
AMY: SONIC! SONIC CAN YOU HEAR ME?
The only response she got was a maniacal cackle from the hedgehog.
SONIC: hehehehehehehehehehe
AMY: Sonniku, Sonniku it's me, Amy.
HARLEY: BACK OFF!
Harley hit Amy with her mallet.
HARLEY: Sweetie, get mommy's bazooka.
Sonic then sped off, while Harley ran away with Amy in close pursuit.
They then reached the outside of the Asylum which was broken down, Amy reached the outside looking for Harley.
AMY: How could you help Joker do it Harley?
HARLEY: Ok so maybe he screwed the kid up a little, but I'll make it right.
AMY: I'll believe it when I see it.
HARLEY: You'll see.
Harley was above Amy with a large piece of concrete in her hands ready to throw at her.
HARLEY: We'll be one big happy family.
Just as she was about to throw it at Amy she heard a whistle and she and Amy saw Sonic standing there with her bazooka in hand.
HARLEY: Good boy.
AMY: SONIC NO!
She rushed over to him but he threw the bazooka at Harley as she jumped down and caught it and fired it at Amy, she dodged it and smashed her hammer down causing the ground to shake and split apart causing Harley to fall down screaming but Amy caught her. But the wrist part of her gloves were tearing but before she could do anything it tore sending Harley down the seemingly bottomless pit. Amy looked away not wanting to see her die, she looked to where Sonic was but he was already gone.
As Batman was chasing the clown prince of crime they ended up in a theatre with Joker's voice appearing over the speakers.
JOKER: What's The matter Batman? No witty comeback, no threat? Then I'll provide the narration.
On the movie screen appeared a picture of Joker waving at the camera with Sonic struggling to break free from his restraints.
JOKER: I'll begin with how I affected young Sonic's mind, it was easy to alter of course, but it was made easier with this.
A picture of the Mind Stone appeared on screen.
JOKER: It took several hours, but in time his mind became mush, which brings me to my next step, someone with a goodie goodie heart wasn't going to be swayed easily, so I used the negative energy of this little Emerald.

JOKER: Then all that was needed was my Joker venom to enter his bloodstream, but with how fast the lad is, it was going to take weeks to take full effect, so to speed it up, I gave him a little shock.
The movie then showed Joker electrocuting Sonic, Batman was shocked.
JOKER: And in time, the dear lad began to share such secrets with me. Secrets that are mine alone to know. BRUCE. It's true Batsy, I know everything. And like the kid who peaks at his Christmas presents, I must admit, it's sadly anticlimactic. Behind all the stern and batarangs you're just a little boy in a playsuit crying for mommy and daddy. It'd be funny if it weren't so pathetic… OH WHAT THE HELL? I'LL LAUGH ANYWAY. HAHAHAHAHAHA.
Batman had heard enough and smashed through the projector room window and proceeded to hit The Joker in the face three times before grabbing him by the neck.
JOKER: If you don't like the movie. I have slides.
Batman then threw him through a nearby window, not the same one he smashed, but a different one, and Joker was sent down on a set of wooden crates. Batman then grabbed him by his neck and pinned him against a crate.
BATMAN: I'll break you in two.
JOKER: Hohohoho Batman, if you had the guts for that kind of fun you would have done it years ago, I on the other hand.
Batman looked at his right hand failing a knife in his left hand. Joker slashed Batman across the chest causing him to let go, then he stabbed him in the knee, then he pushed him off the crates sending him to the ground. Joker followed him down and knelt down on one knee.
JOKER: It's over Batman, Sonic is mine. The last sound you'll hear will be our laughter.
Sonic sped into the room smiling at the scene taking place. Joker then gets a gun in the shape of a flag gun and tosses it to Sonic.
JOKER: Here you go sunny boy.
Sonic catches the gun.
JOKER: Make daddy proud. Deliver the punchline.
Sonic then begins to point the gun at Batman and starts laughing, but he hesitates pointing the gun down and pointing it back at Batman multiple times.
BATMAN: Sonic.
Sonic continues to laugh.
JOKER: DO IT!
Sonic shoots the gun but at the last second, he aims it at The Joker shooting him instead.
JOKER: ARGH!
The force of the shot sent him back to a nearby crate.
JOKER: That's not funny. That's not…..
Joker then falls dead on the floor.
Sonic starts laughing as Amy bursts into the room seeing Joker dead and the gun in Sonic's hands. His laughs quickly turn into tears as Amy rushes over to hug and comfort him with tears in her eyes.
AMY: It's okay Sonic, it's okay.
Batman walks over to Joker's dead body and the Mind Stone and the Chaos Emerald fall from his pocket. After a few minutes, the trio head back to the mansion.
AVENGERS MANSION
The trio returned to the mansion, once they entered the door, Sonic's friends were waiting for them.
TAILS: Did you find him?
Batman stepped aside to reveal the Jokerised Sonic, at seeing this Sonic's friends were staring in fear of what happened to their friend. Tails ran up to him with tears in his eyes.
TAILS: Sonic? Sonic it's me Tails. Your little brother. Don't you recognise me?
Tails only got maniacal laughter in response making Tails cry more, then Sonic passed out in Tails' arms.
TONY: We need to get him into the medical bay NOW!
As the heroes rushed Sonic to the medical bay, Batman slowly followed behind while Shadow stood there and asked
SHADOW: What the hell happened to him?
He got no response as Batman walked to the medical bay. Shadow asked again.
SHADOW: BATMAN! WHAT HAPPENED?
Batman walked straight into the medical bay.

As Tony and Bruce Banner who transformed from the Hulk attended to Sonic, the rest of Sonic's friends and Batman stood there watching until Tails asked.
TAILS: What happened to him?
BATMAN: In the week I was searching for him, Joker was torturing Sonic for a week to make Sonic like him, he showed me the footage of what he did to him, it was horrific.
KNUCKLES: Well, Eggman tortured Sonic for six months, I'm sure he'll recover from this.
TAILS: I don't think so Knuckles, from what I saw when I went to see him, he was like a completely different person, his eyes and everything about him was like..
BATMAN: The Joker.
Tony and Banner walked to the heroes.
SALLY: How is he?
TONY: It will take some time but he will recover, it will be much faster thanks to the Mind Stone and the Chaos Emerald. But the trauma from this experience will take much longer to heal.
KNUCKLES: WHERE IS THAT CLOWN? I'M GONNA MAKE HIM PAY FOR WHAT HE DID TO SONIC!
BATMAN: He's dead, Sonic killed him.
Everyone is shocked at this news.
TAILS: How is that possible, I didn't think he was capable of killing someone.
BATMAN: It was an accident, he was meant to shoot me, he hesitated and he knew he was going to shoot the gun, so at the last second he aimed it at Joker and shot him dead.
After that Batman left the room, with grief and sorrow written all over his face. One good thing came from tonight though, it was over, their never ending struggle finally ended, The Joker was dead. He always said that he would get the last laugh, when in actuality, it was Sonic who got the last laugh. As Joker would say in this scenario,
