A/N: Merry late Christmass! Here is your late Christmass present from me. Hope yall have a great night and a happy new year!

Disclaimer: I do not own WOF.

He flew into the night sky the cold wind ageist his scales. The night was clear making it hard to escape the ice castle, but he did it. he made his way down towards the orphanage and knocked on the door.

An old dragon answered a bright smile on her face.

"Hello dear how can I help you?"

"I'm looking for Penguin is she here?"

"Yes I'll get her in just a moment."

He only had to wait a moment before someone appeared at the door again. This time it was a dragonet her scales a shining gray. She looked at him confused for a moment before bowing.

"Prince North what are you doing here? Surely you're not looking for an orphan."

"Actually I-"

"Northy!"

He looked behind the first dragonet and saw Penguin hoping to the door.

"It took you long enough! Penguin sledding is so boring without you."

"I went once"

She pushed past the first dragonet and sat next to him. She nuzzled up to him in a friendly hug that he hesitantly returned.

"So what do you wanna do?"

"Penguin," the silver dragon said," I don't think the prince wants to do something with you. He probably just came to check up on the orphanage for the queen or something." She turned to him again smirking this time. "Besides if he was coming to see someone it would probably be me. I am first ring material after all."

" Uhhh, I did come here to see Penguin, not you I mean why would I come to see someone I don't even know?"

"Oh silly me," she said with a giggle," I'm Silver. I'm actually quite well known around the city I'm surprised you haven't herd of me."

He nodded awkwardly then said to Penguin "Let's go... do something."

They lay in the snow looking up at the stares again. She pointed out each and every constellation she saw naming them and telling him random tales about them. The penguins they had been previously sledding with where honking in the background, but other tan that it was silent.

"So, were you hanging out with your other friends?" she asked.

"I have no other friends"

"Then what were you doing"

"Being a prisoner in my own home"

"No way! Me too!"

He turned to face confused," You were?"

"No, I just wanted to make you feel better," She said." I was trapped once though"

"Really? when?"

" A long time ago. Somehow I got stuck in my moms body" She said seriously.

He didn't know much about animus magic, but he had herd tales about dragons switching bodies. He personally didn't want it to happen, he couldn't imagine being in one dragons body and watching some other dragon mess up his life. Well maybe it wouldn't be that bad to swap lives with someone.

" And then, not to long after, I was born!"

he glared at her. He was imaging being stuck inside someone's body and feeling sorry for her for no reason.

" Haha real funny" he said sarcastically.

"Yeah you're right it wasn't funny...It was puny!"

He rolled his eyes again and looked back up at the sky. Dawn was approaching, and he could see the pink sky peaking up from behind the mountains. He wanted to stay but if his mother found out he was gone she'd be furious, and he'd never be able to see the outside world again.

He turned to face the the dragonet next to him with the intentions of leaving but somethin caught his eyes. Under her midnight wings tiny, shiny diamonds doted her patagium. It was different from the sparkles Icewings had, but at the same time they where familiar.

"What's on your wings?"

She turned her head to look at them then faced him again.

"What do you mean?"

"I mean they look like...Stares"

She smiled at him them asked, "Do you still need an answer?"

The answer did seem obvious.

"You're a hybrid. Part Icewing and part Nightwing."

" And part Rainwing, and Mudwing, and Skywing, and Seawing."

"Really?," he asked sitting up," you don't look like it."

"I was just joking silly. Only Nightwing and Icewing. My mom was a Nightwing. She and my dad met at Jade Mountain Academy, they were in the same winglet. They weren't on good terms at first, but eventually..." she drifted off.

"They fell in love?"

"Yeah," she sighed," they did."

"You seem to know a lot about your family for an orphan."

"I became an orphan when I was two. I knew them for two years and remember every second of them."

He smiled. Penguin seemed like a childish optimist when they first met, but now she seemed older. Her young aura was replaced with a strong, passionate one proving she was an adult just as much as a child. Even though technically she was still a child... and acted like one more than not.

" What happened to them?." He instantly regretted asking. She was obviously hurt about whatever had happened and he just decided to ask her like it meant nothing to him. Now she was going to storm away after saying how carless he was, and he'd feel horrible-

"They died" she said. "Assassinated I think. Someone who doesn't think Icewings and Nightwings should be happy together."

"Oh... I'm sorry."

"It's fine everyone dies eventually." she said sadly. "I do miss my moms jokes though."

"Were they funny?"

"You might even say they were killer." Seriously she was making jokes now? "Not to mention her cooking was to die for."

She laughed nervously. "I'm sorry, I make jokes when I'm nervous, or sad... or any other time actually.

This time he laughed. "Yeah I noticed".
