Sirens began ringing. I sat up straight quickly.

Alice! I thought, throwing the covers off me. If anything happened to her, I'd be dead. Literally.

I threw on my robe, grabbed a spare blanket, slipping on a pair of slippers.

I rushed over to my mistress' room. She was sitting up in bed, looking lost and confused.

"Bella, what's going on? You looked panicked. Why are there sirens going off?"

"Alice, rebels are attacking. Those are the sirens to alert us what's happening."

"What do we do?" She asked, panic seeping in.

Her maids rushed in and ushered us out. Down the hallway and to a secret passage. They curtsied and went to find their own safe room.

"Stay safe," I insisted.

"Of course, miss." They smiled at me and scurried off.

We went down the spiral stairwell until we reached the doors. Two guards stood in front.

"Princess Alice." They bowed. "Thank you for delivering her."

"She's coming with me. If not, we'll go find somewhere else she's welcome." Alice crossed her arms. "And do you really to deal with four angry monarchs? It won't just be the King and Queen, but my parents as well."

He sighed. "Come in."

The guards opened the doors, letting us in.

All the royals and selectants were in here. All of the women were in nightclothes, but the men were still dressed in their suits. Edward was going around, checking in with the girls. He was still dressed, and looked offly tired. King Edward looked at me, a sneer on his face.

It was quite cold in here, quite chilly. When Alice began shivering, I wrapped the blanket around her, since it was only big enough for one person. She looked at me, gratefulness in her eyes.

"Are you alright?" Edward asked once he was by me.

"Yeah, I'm fine. Are they Southerners?" I asked.

"Yes."

"People will die?"

He pursued his lips. "Most likely."

Alice looked at us, confused and demanding an explanation.

"There's two groups of rebels. The southerners are worse."

"Oh. Okay."

We spent a few hours in here. I explained the two groups of Rebels to Alice before she fell asleep in my lap.

After nearly three hours in here, we were released. The rebels had come and gone., killing guards and staff in the process.

Alice's room was completely destroyed. Mattress and sheets ripped, pictures cut and destroyed, dresses ruined. She looked so upset, and a little angry.

My room was just how I left it. Nothing was ruined, taken, or broken. I guess they had no interest in ruining the room of a lady-in-waiting.

Alice and I spent the rest of the night in my room, sleeping next to each other in my bed.

We did this often.
