CHAPTER 6:

Sakura plopped onto her bed, locking the door behind her. She sank her head into the pillow. She'd been at the Flower Shop all day, helping Ino with flowers.

They might not have gotten along in the past… but that changed…

When Team 7 fell apart.

Ino was probably the only thing keeping Sakura sane during this. She would never be able to pay her back for the help.

The help of distractions… so she didn't have to think about how weak she was.

She had let Sasuke leave. She had let him run away. He was right there and she let herself get duped by Sasuke. And then she came back crying to the one person she always asks to solve her problems.

And now they're both gone….

Sakura shook her head. She vowed she wouldn't cry tonight and thst she was gonna train and practice tonight.

She hadn't gone on missions or done anything lately. Kakashi Sensei was apart of the search team sent out.

I'd been three months since they left…

Sakura shook off her anxiety and hopped off of her bed, picking up the scroll that had been laying on the floor.

She opened it up and started reading.

"SAKURA!! SAKURA GET DOWN HERE!!"

Sakura sighed at her mother's voice and walked downstairs.

She stopped halfway and looked at Ino, right outside her door.

"Sakura!" Ino brightly smiled. "The search team's back!!"

Sakura raced down the stairs and bolted out of the door.

She ran towards the Hokage's office, letting tears run fling off her face.

They were back. They were both back!! She could SEE them again. She could see SASUKE again. Her heart leaped at the thought.

And Naruto… Sakura had so many things she wanted to say… she wanted to apologize. She wanted to hang out. She hadn't realized how fun he was to actually be around until he'd suddenly just been taken away. He must be exhausted, after being on the road for three months.

Sakura ran down the hallway, heading towards her office.

Two Anbu stood at the door blocking its entrance. One wore a bunny mask while the other sported a wolf mask.

"Oh hey, miss! You can't come inside right now."

"My sensei is in there, I need to talk to him!" Sakura said, trying to find a way past the guards.

"I'm sorry miss but the Hokage is very busy, this is a matter of emergency."

Sakura slowed down.

"Wha...what do you mean?"

She listened closely, trying to hear beyond the door.

She wasn't able to make out what they were saying. She tried to lean in closer but the two shinobi pushed.

"I understand you're concerned about your teacher but this is a highly classified meeting. You can wait outside of the room until they are done."

"Please, I want to see my friends, I haven't seen them in months and-" Sakura stopped.

She looked at the two men glancing at each other, wincing. Like they knew something she didn't. Like what she said...wasn't…

"Listen miss, please take a seat in the waiting room. I'm sure Kakashi Senpai will be done soon," the man said, leaning down to be at eye level with Sakura.

She was about to sit down and wait but something came over her. Call it whatever you like but at this moment, she wanted to do something brash, something irresponsible, something so incredibly idiotic and fueled by passion.

Something Naruto would do.

She pushed the ANBU onto the ground hard and raced past him. She had to be fast or the other ANBU would catch her.

She burst the doors of Lady Hokage's office and turned towards Kakashi.

She should have waited.

Sasuke wasn't there.

Naruto wasn't there.

All Kakashi had was a headband…

And some tears dripping down his face.
