CONGRATULATIONS roban05! Yes on the bonus! And regarding the significance, not quite…
TRIVIA: How does Bobby have a different yet similar situation to Mya? (kinda the same topic, a bit of a stretch, though)
BONUS: What do you think Sue found?
?-?
"So are we all set?" Sue asked as she and Jack drove to the agency the next morning.
Jack nodded as he drove. "Have the warrant right here." He said, patting where his inside jacket pocket is.
"Good." Sue said, looking back to the road. "Hopefully we'll find something."
Soon enough, they were at the agency.
"READY?" Jack signed after he parked.
Sue nodded. "READY."
?-?
Mya blankly stared off into space.
"Hey, you OK?" Bobby asked, seeing her.
"Huh? Yeah, fine." She replied, looking at him.
"You sure? Cause you don't exactly look it."
Mya nodded. "It's just that they're revealing all the deep dark secrets today, you know? And me 'n Josh will finish it off tomorrow."
"Shouldn't that be a good thing?" Bobby asked, confused by her sad look on her face.
"It is, believe me, it is. It's just everything coming together. It's hard to explain. You wouldn't understand." She replied, shaking her head.
"You have every emotion under the sun, you don't know what to believe, you want it, yet you don't." Bobby described.
Mya looked at him in shock. "Yeah. How do you-"
He shrugged. "Slightly different, but have had a similar situation."
"Oh." Mya replied, nodding, hoping that he would elaborate. His phone rang before he could.
"Yeah." He said, answering it. "Alright, I'll tell them." He said, hanging up. He then turned to everyone. "Jack and Sue are going in."
?-?
"And this will be your office. Excuse the mess, but the last woman left in a hurry, and I had a hard time figuring out her system." Kim said, waving her hand around the office room.
Jack was struggling to keep up with Kim, but he was trying. Sue knew that as well, so she saved her clarification questions to when they were alone. She didn't want to highlight that Jack wasn't an official interpreter.
"When you're alone in your office, you're more than welcome to have your mask off. I hate those pesky things." Kim continued. "Anyways, you will meet up with potential applicants, I will shadow you for a few days, and then you can be on your own. I've given you today off from that task so you can get acclimated, but first thing tomorrow morning, we've got an appointment."
Sue looked at Jack when he interpreted what she said. They both knew she was talking about Mya and Josh. What a surprise she will have!
Kim continued to describe the job duties for a few minutes longer, then she left them alone to get on with their organizing task.
"ME THINK SHE LEAVE NEVER." Sue signed when the door closed, and they took off their masks. There was only a small window out into the office, and the blinds were shut.
Jack chuckled. "ME TOO."
"US-TWO START SEARCH. TRY LIPREAD LATER."
Jack nodded, and they started searching the room.
After searching an organizing for a while and not finding anything of note, Sue started perusing the computer files. She smiled widely when she happened upon one file. It didn't exactly help the case, but it would help them all the same. She sent the file to the printer, which was thankfully in the room.
"Aha!" Jack exclaimed, then stared at the door, hoping no one heard that.
"WHAT?" Sue asked, seeing Jack smiling when she turned to face him, walking from the printer.
"LOOK." He signed, showing her some paperwork. "It's not conclusive, but it will help." He whispered.
Sue smiled and nodded, happy they found something. Hopefully they'll find something more soon.
?-?
"I wonder how they're doing." Sarah said aloud.
"Probably amazing, knowing Jack and Sue. They've probably got enough to arrest her 3 times over." Bobby said.
Sarah glared at him. "Don't you think you're going a bit overboard?"
"Yes, he is." Myles replied.
"What? I can't dream?" Bobby complained.
"How about you dream realistically?" Mya suggested.
"How about we leave this subject well enough alone, and let them do their jobs?" Myles replied.
"Yes, good idea. Let's move on to costumes for Friday." Sarah replied. "Any ideas on who you'll be?"
"Not a clue." Myles replied.
"Really? Nothing?" she replied.
Bobby smiled at her through her mask. "Mya told me her idea. You'll have to wait and see."
"Alright, then." Sarah replied, intrigued.
?-?
Sue closed the blinds, frustrated. Her office had a good view, but unfortunately, no one was without a mask. There wasn't a single person who was drinking coffee, water, nothing. "LIPREAD CAN'T."
"FINE. GO BACK SEARCH." Jack replied.
She nodded, and started looking again. After a bit, Sue lightly tapped the table to get Jack's attention. He walked up behind her to look at what she was looking at. He looked at it with wide eyes, then happily kissed the top of her head. "PERFECT!" He signed in her peripheral vision.
Sue smiled widely. They found the thing that would put Kim away for good. It might've taken them all day and hundreds of papers later, but they found it.
