Chasing The Sunstone!
A/N: WARNING: THIS STORY CONTAINS SPOILERS FOR THE POKE'MON SWORD/SHIELD GAMES IF YOU HAVE NOT COMPLETED THEM YET!
This Fan Fiction is another story Based in the Sword And Shield Game Universe. But some things to clarify- It has NOTHING to do with Anani or her story (A Love Hate Relationship) It is completely different and to be clear, Anani doesn't even exist, nor did she ever exist in this version of my Poke'mon FanFic Story. This story is written like a Sequel to the Sword/Shield GAMES (if the games were to have a sequel) So in this feature, Time has passed since the Original GAME story. About a Year. Bede is now a Gym Leader, Marnie is now a Gym Leader, Hop is now the Professor (Or rather one of them, he assists Professor Sonia) and Leon is the new Chairman of the Poke'mon League. Now that we have that all clarified, I hope you will enjoy this totally new Poke'mon story adventure based in the same universe.
"Let's see...according to this Rotom map..." Millie mumbled
"In order to get to Turfield...we gotta go through some mine." she blinked.
"Galar Mine Number 1 to be exact!" said Hop, "It's not too far ahead, see?" he said as he pointed up to what appeared to be an opening of a cave. As tey stepped inside both girls gasped. There were gems crusted around in various places. It was impressive.
"Miners in here manage to mine gems and crystals and once in a while you can find some pretty rare stones too."
"That's so cool!' said Millie.
"So pretty..." said Lily.
"Petili petilili petili~!"
Petilil squeaked her excitement. Much like her trainer Lily, Petilil loved things that glittered in the light.
"Little Petal...calm down~!" said Lily. The small Poke'mon squeaked itself out of her arms and jumped around happily as it approached a shimmer on the wall.
"That's nothing more than a typical rhinestone..." said Millie, "It's not worth much."
"To be honest...a lot of the gems in here aren't, really." said Hop.
"But they're still pretty..." said Lily.
"Petili~petili~~"
"And Petilil agrees~" Lily giggled, as Millie rolled her eyes.
"You're drawn to too many distractions." said Millie, "Not all that glitters is gold you know!"
"Maybe not..." said Lily, "But it doesn't have to be gold to still be pleasant..." she explained, "The stars aren't gold either."
"No, they're not." said Millie, "And they're also not worth much-"
"I wouldn't say that." said Hop, "Stars, after all, are burning balls of gas in the Ozone and the milky way...like energy." he said, "And energy is actually quite valuable."
"Well...weather stars are valuable or not..." said Lily, "They're still pretty." she sighed, "Come on, Petilil...if we don't keep up with the group...we'll get left behind..."
But Petilil paid no mind. She was distracted by the pretty lights on the gem encrusted walls...and followed them down a separate tunnel.

"I think we took a wrong turn somewhere..." said Hop, double checking the map.
"What!?" Millie blinked, "What do you mean we took a wrong turn somewhere!?" she huffed,""You're supposed to be the Veteran Gym Challenger here, how can you get us lost!?" she huffed.
"I'm RUSTY~" he said to her, "Give me break! It's been a whole year since I took my journey and things looked a bit different then!"
"A year can't really make that much a difference can it!?" asked Millie. While those two bickered, Lilyann began to notice something was missing, and took on a look of puzzlement.
"Little petal?" she blinked, "Little Petal!? Where did you go!?"
"What is it now, Lily!?" Millie huffed, clearly not paying much attention to anything up to this point, "I can't focus with you yelling about like that!"
"It's my Petilil..." said Lily, "I think she's missing..."
"that's not good..." said Hop.
"Great." Millie huffed, "First the Veteran gets us lost...and then my little sister loses her Poke'mon..." she sighed.
"I-I'm sorry..." Lily stammered, "B-but I have to go find her!" she said, and she was off through the tunnels in search.
"Wait! Lilyann!" Millie called, "We should stick together-UGH" she sighed and rolled her eyes, "Great." she grumbled," First Lilyann lost her Petilil...and now...we've lost Lilyann."
"Don't fret so much." said Hop, "Sure these tunnels are easy to get turned around in, but all and all they're not all that big..." he blinked, "Come on...let's go help her find Petilil."
"Sure...but maybe we ought to find Lilyann first..." Millie muttered.

"Hmm...let's see now..." Bede muttered as he searched carefully through the rock of the walls and what was scattered about the mine.
"I'm not seeing any more sign of Wishing Stars around this area..." he blinked and sighed as he folded in his arms, "Needless to say, I should probably still send what I did gather off to the lab, for Sonia." he blinked, "I owe them that much for all the trouble I helped cause last year...hm?" Bede blinked as he caught glimpse of a fmailiar young Poke'mon hopping her way into the cavern, dazzled by the shimmering walls.
"My, my...a Petilil? here in this mine?" he blinked, "An awful odd place for a Petilil to wander about..." he blinked and leaned down for a closer look.
"...Hold on a Mo..." he blinked again. "Don't I know you?"
"Petil...? Petili.."
"Hmph. That's right, I believe I do." he stated as he flashed back to the pink haired twin tails whose arms he distinctly remembered hugging around a little Petilil.
"Indeed...Little Petal is that it?" he blinked.
"Petlili?"
He blinked again and gave a soft chuckle.
"I see, so she's made it this far has she?" he chuckled, "And what of you?" he asked,"Wander away from your trainer, did you?"
"Petilil..."
He sighed.
"Very well then.: he huffed as he rose back up to his feet, "Come along then, silly girl." he said, "Let us hurry and find your silly Trainer..." he blinked, "Might be nice to have a visit with her."
"Little Petal~!" Lily called out in echoes through the tunnel.
"Oh...well lookit'that." Bede blinked, "It seemed we didn't have to look far after all." he chuckled.
"Little Petal, are you here?"
"Not much further darling, just step a bit this way." Bede called back.
"Ah!?" Lily jumped at the sudden sound of Bede's voice, " !?" she called out, as he came into view with Petlil bouncing happily between his feet at the sight of her Trainer.
"No need for the Mr. before my name..." he said awkwardly, "I'm no older than you really why do you keep forgetting that?"
"I-I'm sorry." she said softly, sighing in relief as Petilil bounced her way back into Lilyann's arms.
"Might do you good to keep a closer eye on your partner Poke'mon there, Lilyann." Bede chuckled.
"Yeah, sorry..." Lily chuckled softly, "She...likes sparkly things...just like I do." she stated, "We both tend to get a bit distracted by them..."
"Sparkly things, hm?" Bede blinked as he glanced around the shimmering cavern, "Well...I suppose that explains why she was hopping along the wall." he chuckled, "Say...didn't you have a group with you?" he asked.
"O-Oh uh...yeah..." she blinked, "They, uhm...went a different way..."
Bede sighed.
"Leave it to that veteran fool to get lost." he rolled his eyes, "Well should you come across them anytime soon darling, be sure to tell those Idjits that the exit is this way~" he stated, as he pointed to a light at an opening in the far end of the tunnel.
"Y-yeah, all right." she giggled, "I'll be sure to let them know...uhm...b-by the way...Mr.-"
"Just Bede." he said sharply between her words, startling her a bit.
"U-Uhm...B...Bede..."
At this he melted into a smile and gave her his full attention.
"Yes, Lilyann, what is it?" he asked.
"Uhm...I-if I may..." she blinked, "What are you doing here?" she asked, "I-I mean...you're a Gym Leader, right? So...what brings you all the way to the mines..."
"Hmm..." Bede hummed and gave a gentle sigh, "I am a Gym Leader." he stated, "But I am the 5th Gym." he said, "The Gym Challenge just started so...there's still a bit of time before I have to worry about Challengers." he chuckled, "So...while I'm waiting, I sometimes take small breaks from training and wander around gathering Wishing Stars for the Lab." he stated, "I'm a bit of a Veteran at collecting Wishing Stars so when I have free time I keep an eye out and send any I find to Sonia...since it seems that useless assistant of hers is off on another adventure~" he said making a whooping signal with a twirl of his finger triggering a giggle out of the soft spoken pinkette. He felt rather proud of himself.
"S-So uhm...Wishing Stars..." Lilyann blinked, "Did you...happen to find any?"
"Hm?" Bede blinked, "Yes, well...I found a few." he stated, "Not many, but either way I will send them off to Sonia soon enough." he stated, "There is one interesting find I did come across in my search, however." he chuckled as he reached into his pack, "Place Petilil down and hold out your hand, would you?"
"Huh?" Lily didn't quite understand the request, but she complied. Placing the small Poke'mon softly on her feet while she held her hands out. Bede had placed a weighted item in her palms. It was warm to the touch and shone like the sun. In fact...it looked pretty similar to the sun as well. She blinked her chartreuse eyes a few times and gasped softly,"Th-This is..." she gulped, "This is a Sunstone...isn't it?"
"Hm~ Good eye." Bede winked, "Indeed it is~"
"But I..." Lily blinked, "I don't understand...why are you giving this to me?" she asked.
"Well..."Bede blinked, "Why not?" he asked, "I've no use for it~ But you on the other hand~" he motioned his eyes toward the small plant Poke'mon swaying cutely by her master's feet.
"Petlili?" Petilil blinked.
"That Petilil of yours can evolve further." he stated, "However...should you choose to use that stone or not is up to you..." he said with a smile as he gently tapped at the rock in her hands, "I just thought you might like the option~" he winked, "Think carefully before you decide." he said softly, "After all once that decision is made, you can't go back on it."
"yes...I understand." Lily nodded, "Thank you, I promise I'll take good care of it."
"I'm sure you will, dove." he smiled.
"Lilyann~!"
"Hey Lily, where are you!?"
Millie and Hop's voices echoed through the tunnels not too far in.
"Ah, so it seems your friends have found their way at last." said Bede, "I'll take this as my cue to leave then." he shrugged, "Remember to give them that message, will you?"
Lilyann chuckled.
"Yes. I'll be sure to tell them~"
"Good on you~" he winked as he took his leave toward the very exit he pointed her to, "Ciao~ Dove, and remember~" he glanced back at her, "Stay Pink~!" he winked and waved once more before disappearing into the light.
Stay Pink, huh?
Lilyann blinked as she thought to herself.
What does that even mean, anyway?
"Lilyann! There you are!" called Millie.
"We were right worried about you girl you should answer when you're called." said Hop.
"Oh...sorry." Lily said with a sheepish smile.
"No harm done." said Hop, "Looks like you found Petilil too...I'm glad." he smiled.
"Well actually that wasn't me, but-" she blinked and smiled, "But yes, I'm glad all the same."
"Say..." Hop blinked as he took notice of the shining lighted object in Lily's hands, "Is that a Sunstone?" he asked, "Nice find Lily!" he grinned.
"Oh-this!" she said, "Actually...I didn't find this...Bede did!"
"Bede?" Hop blinked.
"You mean, that Gym leader?" asked Millie, "The one who endorsed you?"
"Uhm...yeah." said Lily," He just gave this to me not too long ago...he's gone now though." she stated.
"So Bede was here, was he?" asked Hop, "I see...must have been looking for some Wishing Stars..."
"He did say something like that..." said Lily, "Oh, and uhm...he also told me to tell you idjits...that uh...the uhm...exit...is...over there..." she said, pointing to the lighted end that she saw Bede leave out of and blushed awkwardly.
Well I delivered the message as he asked of me...
She thought to herself.
But...I still feel kinda bad about it...
"I see..." Hop twitched, "Us idjits huh?" he sighed, "Yeah...that's a Bede message all right...he was definitely here." Hop huffed and cupped his hands over his cheeks as he called out toward the light at the end of the tunnel, "THAAAAAANK YOOUUU, BEDE!" he called out, "I dunno if you're still near by or not but THANKS ANYWAY!" he waved, "There." he huffed as he folded his arms back in, "Now no one can say I didn't thank him."
With a brief scattering of snorts some light hearted laughter was shared between the group.
"Come on, Ladies, let's get going." said Hop, "After all, Turffield Stadium awaits~"
"All right!" said Millie, "Gym Badge number one here I come!" Millie trotted along excitedly behind Hop who lead the way, while Lilyann held back for a spell. She cupped the warm stone gently in her hands and smiled before wrapping a pink kerchief around it and carefully packing it away.
"All right then Little Petal..." she said to Petilil, "Let's hurry up and catch up to the others, or we might get left behind again!"
