Chapter 8: Correlation Determination

After a long day together, all the lab members gathered around to hear from Moeka on every detail and all the pictures she made while spying on Okabe and Kurisu during their date. They both tried to stop Moeka from saying anything, but unfortunately for them, she still talked and revealed everything. This left both Okabe and Kurisu embarrassed for some time.
Night settled in, but unfortunately, it also began to rain very aggressively. There was also a thunderstorm that would prevent anyone even with an umbrella from leaving their homes. Most of the lab members have left already, but Kurisu stayed behind at Maho's place above the old lab to talk more with her.
"Seriously, why would you guys try to hide your date?" Maho asks.
"Why do you think we did? Every lab member would want to spy on us to see how it goes. Then you guys would j-just make it weird for me and O-Okabe." says Kurisu.
Maho thinks about it and concludes that would be highly true. Everyone is always curious when it comes to the relation between Kurisu and Okabe, since they are the center of everything that happens. "Y-Yea, I can't deny that. But, we all are just curious about how you guys bond together."
Kurisu becomes shy and embarrassed. "Wh-what are you saying?!"
"Come on Kurisu, you should know already. You have been in a boyfriend and girlfriend relationship for nearly 7 years now. Since you're turning 29 soon, everyone around that age would get married. Yet, you guys are still not going further in your relationship even to this day. It's really weird honestly."
Kurisu gets upset and counters back. "Well look at you! You're 33 years old and you still haven't found a man in your life!."
Maho blushes and is upset. "W-Well I never was interested in that stuff, ok?! Besides, I was just trying to make you realize your relationship with Okabe-san!"
Kurisu suddenly calms down and thinks about what Maho said and cannot deny one bit of it. As much as she wants to go further in her relationship with Okabe, there are just some things that prevent the advancement of it. "You know, I always wondered the same thing. Would Okabe and I ever get married. It would be the greatest thing in my life to happen, but I have my pride as a scientist with all of my research being in America."
Maho thinks on what to say. "So your pride as a scientist keeps you from moving forward into a life with Okabe constantly around you." Maho laughs.
Kurisu gets a bit mad for why Maho is laughing. "Why are you laughing, Senpai?"
"Sorry, it's just because you remind me of myself." Kurisu pays attention as Maho explains. "You see, just like you, all of my research was in America. Every theory, every experiment conducted, every success and failure as a scientist I had was all in America. When I came to live here in Akihabara, I still couldn't understand why I chose to work with Okabe and his strange lab. I thought it was just for the AI program since I had put the most ime into researching it and wanted to keep working on it. However, over time I realized something important that made me feel more alive. That was having people I know working around me."
Kurisu sits there wondering what she means.
"Ok let me put it this way. I know lots of scientists in America who you can say we're friends. However, what we could not really recognize was our humanity and we only had our egos and ambitions as scientists to keep moving forward in our research and more importantly, our lives. Then, when I came to Japan and continued to work at Okabe's lab, I managed to create more successful theories and experiments. I thought its was so strange, but like I guess it wasn't in the end. I had people who cared for what I did give me a push in the back to achieve something greater. Just like what I said two days ago, the nature of peaceful interactions at work feels, refreshing. Learning all of this in Okabe's lab made me feel like moving to Japan was the next step I needed to enter the next chapter of my life as a scientist, and to restore something I once lost."
Kurisu is still kind of confused about what Maho is saying, but that is probably because she still has her ambitions and ego as a scientist. She can understand however they all are human and need a change of pace when it is needed or wanted.
Maho continues. "Over the course of time since I met you here with every lab member, you have been more lively than I ever thought you would be. That liveliness shows a lot more when you're around Okabe. Probably because you both are tsunderes as Hashida-san would call you."
Kurisu becomes shy. "H-Hey!"
Maho laughs. "Anyway, then you and Okabe became closer and closer, and now to this day you both are boyfriend and girlfriend. You know what this means right?"
Kurisu nods in confusion.
"It means thanks to Okabe, you have been a more lively person than ever. You have been showing more trust, happiness, laughter, sad moments, and so on."
Kurisu thinks, and realizes what Maho says is not wrong. She has been the ambitious scientist with a huge ego to always be right. She would always get into arguments with other people about their ideas and theories. However, the one person she can't win against half the time in arguments, is Rintaro Okabe. Maybe it's because he really doesn't care for her arguments, or maybe it's because he was actually right sometimes. However, because of how Okabe was the only one who challenged her in ways she never expected, it only made her more curious of him, and wanted to know more about who Okabe really is. This eventually turned into love for him as only Okabe could ever tolerate a person like her. Since meeting him, her humanity has been different than she would be in America, which would suggest that she should move to Japan to be closer to him. After all, years go by and she wants to be close to Okabe every year to have a great relationship with him. The only man who can challenge her truly which is what she likes to see."
Maho then speaks to Kurisu just sitting here thinking for a while now. "Look, don't worry about it now if it confuses you, but I would give it some good thought when you do. I just said everything I did because I think that is what you should do to be closer to Okabe."
Kurisu smiles. "Thank you, Senpai. I will give it some thought."
They both smile at each other. Then, Kurisu thinks it is about time to head back to her apartment. However, as she gets ready to leave, a huge lightning bolt strikes and causes a huge noise that startles her and Maho.
Kurisu looks out the window and notices it is raining aggressively. "Well, I don't think I can go home in these conditions."
"Yea. Well in any case, we can have another sleepover. We can just sleep in the same bed for a night. I'll let you borrow stuff to clean yourself and shower too."
Kurisu smiles. "Thank you, Senpai."
Time goes by. Everyone is sleeping quietly and calmly, even though the storm continues to rage on. However, a huge sound of a thunderbolt crashes near the old lab, and causes Kurisu to wake up from her sleep. She rubs her eyes to check outside through the window and see the rain still pouring in heavily.
Inside the old lab, Okabe is not doing so well. He is sleeping on the couch like usual, but his head is reacting to his current dream.
He is dreaming about running, and running as fast as he can to his destination. After reaching the dark room, the same situation from the beta worldline repeats itself. Okabe tried to stop Shouichi Makise from hurting Kurisu, and he tried to fight him back. Unfortunately, even after all of that, the end result is Okabe accidentally stabbing Kurisu. He sees her blood pouring everywhere and getting all over his clothes and face. His mental state is breaking and he has become extremely traumatized and does anything but only shake in terror. This causes his real self to start screaming, and it startles the already awakened Kurisu. She is wondering now what is happening in the old lab, especially at 1 am.
As Okabe continues to dream however, the scene begins to experience some sort of glitch. As the glitch happens, the roles of who is holding who switches. Okabe is now suddenly the one bleeding, and Kurisu is the one holding him, crying out extremely and shedding lots of tears. Okabe is now questioning what is going on as he can't move his body. He knows he was experiencing the same thing in the beta worldline, but now the event suddenly changes to him the one bleeding out,. Not only that, but the scene is also different but yet unrecognizable. Okabe doesn't like what is happening, so he screams out and forces his real life body to move, and eventually does. However he crashes onto the floor and flips the table to land on top of him.
Okabe is in sort of pain from the fall and the table landing on him. He also is sweating a lot. As Okabe pushes the table off from him to the side, the door to the old lab opens. Who comes in is Kurisu who is startled from all the screaming and noises he caused.
"Okabe?! Are you alright?!" Kurisu asks.
"Y-Yea." says Okabe. He speaks as he struggles a bit to focus "W-What are you doing here? I thought….. you were back at your apartment?"
"I was going to, but then it started to rain heavily, and Senpai allowed me to stay at her place for the night."
"I see." Okabe sighs. He then gets up to get a Dr. Pepper from the fridge which is also one of the old gadgets he made.
"Okabe. Tell me what happened."
Okabe grabs a Dr. Pepper and drinks it before responding. "What do you mean?"
"What do you mean? I heard you screaming and thrashing stuff from above! The table is on its side too! I want to know what happened!"
"Don't worry, assistant. It was just a nightmare I had. It can happen to everyone." Okabe sits back down on the couch.
Kurisu begins to get angry. "Why don't you just tell me what happened?! If it was a nightmare, tell me what happened! That's what I mean!" Kurisu begins to shed some tears and Okabe looks up to notice her tears. "Why are you trying to hide it from me? Why? Why?!"
Okabe was just trying to not make her worry with the nightmares he was having, but instead, he made Kurisu more upset than he ever wanted. Now he feels nothing but guilt again. So he decides to pull Kurisu to him and have her sit on the couch and cry on him. "I'm sorry, Kurisu. I just didn't want to make you worry is all. But instead, I made it worse."
After Okabe's comment, Kurisu calms down and wipes her tears away. "I never thought you would care this much, but since you do and have shown it to me, I won't hide any more nightmares." Okabe explains everything that happened.
After a few minutes of explaining, Kurisu is surprised to hear Okabe having such a nightmare, but it was expected in a way. He had already explained before what happened in the alpha and beta worldline to every lab member. "Memories are hard to control. No matter how much we try to forget, they always appear back at some point against our will. When you told us everything about what you saw and experienced, I already knew your face showed the emotions you had when you explained everything. You had experienced very strong emotions through your journey through other worldlines."
"Yea. I could never forget what I saw, what I felt, what I experienced in those worldlines."
"But I wonder, how long have you been experiencing these things?"
Okabe hesitates to respond, but he can't hold Kurisu back from knowing at this point. "Almost 11 years."
Kurisu's eyes widened in shock. "Huh?!" Okabe becomes startled. "Y-You have been experiencing this for almost 11 years, and you have yet to tell me or any of the lab members about this?!"
"I-I'm sorry."
Kurisu becomes very sad. "Why, why did you hide it all these years?"
Okabe stands up and goes to the window to look outside while giving his reason. "It would be easy to say my issues with these nightmares if it actually happened in this worldline, but it didn't. My nightmares are memories of observing other worldlines, and I am the only one who has witnessed and can remember everything that has occurred. If I try to explain about why I have these nightmares, no one will really understand. You will all think they are just dreams, but they aren't. They are what I have seen." Kurisu stands up and slowly walks to Okabe. "I have seen dreams crushed, hopes get destroyed, and many other terrorizing things that led the world into a World War. I could never forget any of that no matter how much I try too."
When Kurisu walks to Okabe, she hugs him from behind. Okabe gets startled by her sudden actions, but then he hears her sad tone. So he decides to not do anything at the moment.
Then, Kurisu speaks. "Idiot. Didn't I tell you long ago? I do have doubts of you and your experiences of worldlines, but I will still listen, because no matter how much I think it may be false, the dreams I have are proof that your theory of worldlines may be right. I want to know more from you."
Okabe then realizes Kurisu has said similar things in the past, and in other worldlines before. How could he keep forgetting that Kurisu has always been by his side in situations he has gone through. With this, he is now curious about something. "Kurisu, why did you say yes to be my girlfriend?"
Kurisu becomes shy as that was a sudden question. "Y-You really want to know?"
Okabe responds. "Yea."
There is a pause. "Because it was you who asked."
Okabe is confused. "What do you mean about that?"
"Out of everyone who I met, the lab members were the only people who really treated me as a human regardless of my status. Now I never met a person more annoying and delusional as someone like you. However, over time, I have learned who you really are, and what your true intentions were, and I wanted to know more. You were the only one who actually argued with me and tolerated me even though I was right. Over time, you made me feel like I had a purpose, a purpose that lied in your life, and I wanted to be a part of it. The purpose of supporting you wherever you are, as the woman you love, and as your girlfriend."
Okabe didn't know what to say. He was surprised by how Kurisu thought of him. She was always the woman who annoyed him and always tried to push him down because he was delusional, but in reality, she always cared for him and wanted to be by his side, supporting him in his dreams, his happiness, and his sadness. After Kurisu's explanation, Okabe turns around, puts his hands on Kurisu's cheeks, and kisses her in the lips. Kurisu is stunned by Okabe's sudden kiss, but she closes her eyes and enjoys the kissing just as much as Okabe is.
Okabe and Kurisu kiss for a good minute and hug each other as time slows down around them. They just didn't want this moment to end. However, the moment eventually ends and they both let go of each other's lips. Okabe then speaks. "Thank you Kurisu. You really are the only woman who I wish to have by my side."
Kurisu is curious about what he meant. "Wish?"
"Did you forget? Because you still choose to work in America means we can't be together every time?"
Kurisu realized she forgot about that. "A-Ah, yea I forgot about that."
Okabe reassures her emotions. "Don't worry, do what you want, and I will support your decision."
Kurisu smiles. After a moment, Okabe realizes they should go back to sleep now that they are feeling much better. "Well Kurisu, I am going to head back to sleep now that I feel better. Thank you. You should head back upstairs and sleep since you have to wake up earlier to prepare your stuff for the flight back tomorrow."
Kurisu agrees she should go back to sleep. However she also decided for once tonight, to do something different. As Okabe sits on the couch, Kurisu comes up and sits on the couch next to him. Okabe is confused about what she is doing. "Kurisutina? What's wrong?" Kurisu then grabs the blanket Okabe uses and lays down on Okabe's right side of his body. She also extends the blanket to cover Okabe too.
Okabe is now shocked about Kurisu's actions. "W-What are you doing?!"
Kurisu responds. "What? Can I not sleep next to my boyfriend for a night?"
Okabe smiles and wraps his right arm around Kurisu and finishes extending the blanket. "No, you can." After they settle, they say their goodnight and fall asleep. "Good night, Kurisu."
"Good night, Okabe."
July 19th, 2021
The sun barely begins to shine over Akihabara. The sky was barely cloudy after last night's severe thunderstorm, and the ground wet from the heavy rain. Okabe and Kurisu were asleep as peace like a real couple. However, the old lab door opened and a snapshot was taken out of nowhere. This woke Kurisu first, and she rubs her eyes to awaken herself more, and see by the kitchen, Maho with a cell phone out and having the camera facing her and Okabe.
Kurisu greets her as she yawns "Senpai? Morning."
"Morning Kurisu." says Maho. "You look like you had a very good night's sleep."
Kurisu stretches. "What are you talking about?"
Maho points beside her and sees Okabe still asleep. However this makes Kurisu realize she was sleeping on Okabe, and she becomes embarrassed since Maho was also here. "W-Wait, it's not what you think!"
Maho teases. "Oh I know exactly what's going on here. You left my place to sleep with Okabe-san. Now that is very romantic. I will be also saving this picture of this very moment so I can mess with you about your relationship with him more than ever."
Kurisu gets angry of embarrassment and quickly gets up to try and grab Maho's phone. "No! Delete that photo right now!"
She runs around the old lab to catch Maho and takes her phone to delete the photo, however as this is happening, Okabe begins to wake up from the noise the girls are causing. Then, Maho rushes out of the old lab and back to her place. Kurisu stops as she is already somewhat tired from yelling and chasing.
Okabe wakes up and questions Kurisu about all the noises. "What with all the noises, Kurisu?"
"N-Nothing!" she says. "I-I gotta go upstairs to prepare my things and head back to my apartment. I'll see you soon." Kurisu leaves the old lab. Okabe sits there on the couch, still wondering what just happened.
Now that he is awake, he knows that Kurisu will be leaving back to America soon. So he decides to send a message to every lab member about one thing they never said about each other except through email.
It is now midday. Kurisu has packed up everything and says goodbye to her apartment until her next visit to Japan. She walks out and begins to head toward Akihabara station. While on the way, she smiles as she thinks about everything that has happened in the last three days. She wishes she could stay a lot longer, but unfortunately, the place where she works only allowed her to visit for 3 days. As Kurisu arrives at the station, she sees everyone who she recognizes. Every lab member of the Future Gadget Laboratory is here, waiting for her.
"E-Everyone! What are you all doing here?" Kurisu asks.
"We all came to say goodbye to you." says Maho.
"Mhm! Mayushii thinks we should also take a group picture for the greatest memory after a few years!" says Mayuri.
"Really?" Kurisu questions.
"Really." says Okabe as he walks up to her. "It's been so long since all the lab members hung out and since our last group picture years ago. Now would be the perfect time to take another one of the greatest moments ever as a lab member."
Kurisu smiles to see how they haven't changed about their feelings for each other. It is a fact that every lab member treats each other like family, because they have been together for so many years, and that is something that will never be taken away.
Okabe asks a stranger to take a picture of every lab member together and agrees too. They get into positions, and all smile at the camera, for a group photo that everyone will never forget. Of course, in that photo only Okabe is doing his Hououin Kyouma pose, but that is just like him.
Soon all the lab members wave goodbye to Kurisu, with the expectation of Okabe who walks with Kurisu for a bit for one last conversation face to face.
Kurisu is shy as she speaks. "T-Thank you for the last three days, Okabe. It has been a lot of fun, a-and that I got to see y-you again."
Okabe is also shy as he speaks. "Y-Your welcome, Kurisutina."
"There is no tina in my name. How many times do I have to tell you that."
Okabe gives a quick laugh. "You will also be Kurisutina to me, and also as my assistant."
Kurisu teases. "Yea, yea. You better not be sad while I'm gone, Hououin Kyouma."
Okabe switches to his persona. "W-What do you mean?! The great mad scientist cannot focus on being sad and lonely! I have to continue to make the world fall into chaos! Yes, that is what I do! That is me, Hououin Kyouma!"
Kurisu laughs to hear this scenario again as it gives her nostalgia. "I sure hope so."
Okabe clears his throat and sets aside his persona, and hands over Kurisu a suitcase he has been carrying since arriving at the station. "Here, Kurisutina. This suitcase contains the gifts of all the lab members. However, you must not open this suitcase until July 25th."
Kurisu is stunned. "July 25th? That is my birthday."
"Y-Yea. Since you won't be around Japan when it is your birthday, every lab member decided to get you a birthday gift ahead of time."
Kurisu smiles and thanks Okabe as she is shy. "T-Thank you."
Okabe and Kurisu smile at each other before the moment. "Well, will I hear from you more from now on?" Kurisu asks.
Okabe nods. "Yea, I'm not going anywhere."
Kurisu smiles. "I'm happy. Well, see you later, Okabe." Kurisu turns around to walk away with 2 suitcases to where she needs to go. However, she stops and suddenly turns back around to walk rapidly back to Okabe, and gives him the kiss of farewell. Okabe is shocked by what she is doing. Although they have been kissing each other more recently, this is the first time they kiss in public. Okabe closes his eyes to enjoy this moment.
Kurisu backs up from Okabe's lips and Okabe speaks while he is very shy. "T-This is the first time we have d-done this in public."
Kurisu speaks while also very shy. "Y-Yea. B-But, I want to get used to this boyfriend girlfriend thing more. W-We so start acting more like a real couple and make our relationship known."
Okabe smiles and thinks it a good thing. "I-If that is what you want, then I will follow along with it too."
Both of them smile in agreement. "Well, now this is goodbye for now. See ya, Hououin Kyouma." says Kurisu.
Okabe watches her walk farther away as she leaves to travel back to America. "Yea, see yea, Kurisutina. I hope to see you very soon."
July 25th, 2021
It is night in Kurisu's time zone. She is busy organizing her research papers and listening to her favorite Motzart music. She is happy as she has messaged the lab members for they wished her a happy birthday. Then, as she finishes putting away some utensils, her text tone from her phone rings. She picks up the phone to see the message from Rintaro Okabe. She opens her phone and sees the message is a recording of only several seconds. She clicks the play button.
Okabe's voice plays through with his mad scientist persona. "Hello, Kuristina, and a happy birthday to you! You must be getting old, but your boyfriend, Hououin Kyouma, has recorded this classified message to say one thing! No matter how old you get, you are always needed as the assistant of the ggrrreeattt mad scientist! So no excuses from you! That is all. Hope you have a good day and a great happy birthday, Kurisutina! Be proud that a mad scientist cares for your well being."
The voice message ends. Kurisu is annoyed by how Okabe thinks, but that is just like him. She is happy at least that he messages her happy birthday. Speaking of Okabe, she remembered he gave her a suitcase of gifts from every lab member, but never to be opened until her birthday, which is today.
She grabs the suitcase and opens it. Inside are neatly stacked gifts, all just for her. She happily begins opening them one by one. Most of the gifts are small objects which would normally be what the gifter would like, along with a note tag on each of them saying happy birthday from the gift's giver. Only one gift got her very embarrassed, and it was from Moeka. She gave Kurisu a short story of her web novel she has been writing, and it was about something very similar to Okabe and Kurisu's relationship. Kurisu quickly reads a bit of the beginning and just blushes and is embarrassed to see it is indeed just liek them.
She finally reaches the last gift. It's a decently sized gift box. She opens it and reads the tag, which has Okabe's name on it. She is surprised to see a gift from Okabe but continues to open the box. She finds 2 things inside. One is a birthday letter, and the other is a item wrapped around it. She to open the birthday card first. It is of course written from Okabe and decides to read it.
Dear Kurisu Makise
Happy Birthday! I wanted to give you this gift originally while you visited Japan, but I figured it would be better to give you it as a birthday present. You know, when I saw you after so long, I felt like you were going to hate me. However, you gave me the chance to make it up to you and I can't anymore be happy already having you forgive me. I had fun together in our last 3 days together and hopefully you did too.
Anyways, the insane mad scientist, Hououin Kyouma, has a gift for you inside the box. I hope you like it, for as this is what some would say, a couple's gift? I sure hope it is, because this gift is also my way of showing I always will love you, no matter where you are, and no matter where I am.
From Your Mad Scientist Boyfriend
Rintaro Okabe
Kurisu sheds a tear from the warmth and happiness in her heart, to receive a letter from Okabe in a manner that shows how serious he is when he wrote it. She places down the letter and opens the small box. Inside is an object neatly wrapped. She uncovers the object, and is shocked to see what it is. It is an Okabe plushie. She never thought of seeing a toy like this from Okabe. She hugs it for a moment as she feels very happy for the gift. Then, she senses something else that the plushie is around the pockets of the coat. Kurisu takes out the object and is stunned by what it is. It is a locket necklace that is shaped like the Future Gadget Laboratory logo. She opens the locket and inside is a photo of the day Okabe and Kurisu took a photo together back in 2014. On the other side of the locket is a small carved heart with the initials in the middle, OR. Kurisu sheds more tears as a gift like this shows how much Okabe cares for his relationship with her, and only wishes to be even more closer to Okabe than ever. She will be cherishing his gifts for a very long time.
Kurisu is in bed as she stares up her roof due to not being able to sleep. She thinks about the two gifts she got from Okabe and the things Okabe said to her while she was in Japan. This only made her feel like she was lonely now, away from the man she loves more than anyone. Then, memories of her conversation with Maho flowed through. She remembers how Maho left America to work at Okabe's lab and remembers her reasons. She then remembers Maho mentioning about how she should live in Japan to be closer to Okabe. Kurisu already knew why she didn't want to move, but the same thing once applied to Maho too, and in the end, she moved to Japan.
In fact, Maho's idea of moving to Japan is right. The only way Kurisu could ever be closer to Okabe, is if she moves to Japan. After all, the thing that binds Okabe to stay in Japan is his lab he runs as manager mainly as a lifetime career. What binds Kurisu to her lab? Only her research and years of working there. She realizes she can start anew in a new lab; a lab where it is runned by the man she loves, and who is her boyfriend after all. Even though it will be vastly different, she will accept the change as long as she can be Okabe again. With all this thought out, Kurisu has made up her mind and is determined to start the next chapter in her life.
August 8th, 2021
Two week have passed since Kurisu's birthday. Everyone is still going their way with their lives as they are busy as usual with work, and all the lab members are still going strong as always. At the Future Gadget Laboratory, Maho, Daru, and Okabe are discussing and managing new applications in a conference room for the next upcoming Interns that have signed up to learn and work in the lab.
After about a couple of hours, Okabe seems to have finished up all his work. "Alright! That should be everything to our future allies of the Future Gadget Laboratory!" says Okabe with his persona.
"Hold it." says Maho. She pulls a bag with all her paperwork, and pulls out a physical copy of the application used for the Future Gadget Laboratory. "Here is one physical copy of the application."
Maho and Daru smile as Okabe becomes curious. "Huh? We almost never get physical copies of applications nowadays. Well, lets see." Okabe scans through everything written on the paper. His eyes widen to see who this application is from, and written with it are all the achievements and necessary things needed to work at the lab in the specific position they are applying for. Okabe puts down the paper, and stares at nothing for a moment. Then he stands up and slowly walks to the window of the room, while being to laugh like the mad scientist he is. "Fwwaaahahahahahahah! This is the news of a life time! This application is definite proof that this is the choice of Steins Gate!"
Maho and Daru are weirded out by his laugh, but it is to be expected. Maho then asks something. "So Okabe-san, will you prepare an interview for this person?"
"There is no need for one. Especially for the person who has accomplished so much, and I, the mad scientist, Hououin Kyouma, am the one who has witnessed their accomplishments. We will hire this person immediately!"
"So does that mean will you commit when she is around?" Maho asks.
"Commit?! No, I am determined! So, send a word to the interns and to this special person that they are expected to arrive within 2 weeks from now!"

We forward ahead to two weeks more, the sun begins to shine high as the morning reaches its peak. Inside the Future Gadget Laboratory, Okabe, Daru, and Maho have gathered with the new interns that have arrived today. There are currently 7 of them which have diverse backgrounds.
"Welcome, my new allies! I am Rintaro Okabe, also known as the mad scientist, Hououin Kyouma. Starting today, you all will work under me with the help of my supervisors! I will let them introduce themselves."
"Hello, I am Hiyajo Maho."
"And, I am Itaru Hashida."
Okabe speaks. "All of you will work under temporary supervision by Hiyajo-san and Daru. I say temporary, because also today, we have a new supervisor joining the lab! She will be in training for a week to know about the Future Gadget Laboratory, before she becomes your supervisor for all the time needed! I will let my assistant introduce herself."
Who opens the door and walks in the conference room is the body, the hair, and the clothes we all know who it belongs to. However in addition to her looks, she wears the locket necklace of the Future gadget Laboratory logo. The gift we all know who gave it to her. She faces the interns and speaks. "Hello everyone. My name is Kurisu Makise. It's a pleasure to meet you." Kurisu smiles.
