A/N: From this point forward, I'm going to put the book into 3rd POV and unless necessary, I'll then put it into 1st POV. I'm sorry if my writing is not that good, but I hope you enjoy it!
As we excited the astronomy tower, Ms. Sinistra called out, "Don't forget to do the star maps everyone! They're due on Wednesday!"
"We have care of magical creatures next. I hope Hagrid didn't bring horrid creatures this year." Ron shuddered.
"If you were paying attention, Hagrid isn't here. There's another lady substituting." Hermione said annoyed.
"How'd you know? Smarty?"
"If you look with your eyes, Hagrid wasn't at the feast and some lady was sitting at his spot." she replied.
"Lay off each other will you? I've had enough of your bickering throughout the summer and now the 1st day of school." Kendra said. "I don't get why you fight so much. Especially over trivial things."
We walked across the hall to the grounds close to our destination.
"Like you can talk." he muttered.
"What was that?"
"You and Malfoy. Always getting into arguments over nothing."
"Really?" Kendra looked incredulously at him. "Malfoy's your argument? He's a git, pratt, and a good for nothing Slytherin. He also calls 'Mione mudblood and you a weasel. He calls me Potter-brat and the Gryffindors atrocious names only I have the guts to say. So who wouldn't end up in a fight with Malfoy?"
"Okay, okay. You have a point there, but you fight him more than I do."
"You do realize you just started bickering like children." Hermione said with an innocent smile.
"Whatever, you know what I mean."
We walked into a clearing near Hagrids huts when we saw a strict looking lady waiting for the class to come. We were about 2 minutes early.
As the rest of the class came, she led us to a barn area.
"My name is professor Grubby-Plank and I will be your teacher till Hagrid comes back."
Kendra heard a snicker come to my left. "Finally got what he deserves, that fat oaf."
Ugh. Malfoy. Ron who heard this did not take it lightly.
"Shut up you stupid git. Nobody wants to hear you talk."
"Oh. The weasel is crying about his ugly oaf of a friend? Look, it's the Potter-brat and the mudblood. How's life treating you?"
"Just shut up." Kendra looked away to the teacher who was giving us glares.
"All of you. Be quiet. Today we are studying unicorns. Girls, come on up and boys stay back. They don't like you."
"Huh, must suck to be a boy doesn't it?" Kendra asked Hermione walking to the beautiful creature in front of me.
"Your right." she replied with a soft smile.
Kendra pet the white colored unicorn and discreetly pulled a few strands from the mane. This is perfect, an antidote for my newest poison. I just had to test it out. Class soon went on with girls petting the unicorns and talk was all around.
"Today, I want you to sketch a picture of a unicorn and right a paper on the healing properties and magical properties unicorns have. One full parchment, dismissed."
"Ugh..." complained Ron, "why do have so much homework already? It's the 1st day of school, can't they let us relax for a bit?"
"Ron, we have OWL's this year. Why do think they're giving us homework today. And it's not that much. We just have to label the stars and planets on a map, which we have 2 days to finish by the way, and we write a paper on something so easy." Kendra said.
We had a short 5 minute break to go back to the dorms and change our books before heading to potions. Each class was about 1 hr 1/2 so on odd days (high school schedule) it would be 6 hrs of class and on even days it would be 7 1/2 hrs of class. (5 classes) After 3 classes was lunch, another 3 and dinner, then on even days we had a class after.
The rest of the day went off without a hitch and they were soon relaxing in their comfy beds.
Timeskip:
"I seriously hope Professor Snape will treat Gryffindor properly this year. God knows we need it, especially because of our OWL's." Hermione said worriedly.
"Hermione, I seriously doubt that. I mean common, this is Snape we're talking about. When has he ever treated other houses like he has with his?" receiving no answer Kendra continued. "And will you lay off the OWL's stuff? It's getting annoying." She only mumbled an agreement, and we strode off to the dungeons.
The chilly air of the classroom hit us full force and we stepped in. Kendra sat next to Neville and Ron and Hermione sat together.
"Neville, this year I'm defiantly going to get Snape off your back and we'll work together. That alright?"
Neville looked as if Christmas came early and profusely thanked her.
"Quiet down everyone," came a slight monotone and hazily voice. (?) "We are going to be making hard potions this year and if you can't keep up I'm going to fail you. The only ones who pass my class will be in it next year, the rest of you can kiss becoming an Auror away. In June you all will be tested on how much you learned on composition and the use of magical potions. Today were are brewing Draught of Peace. This potion is relatively easy, it clams the users nerves. Be warned that making the potion too strong will result in the user going into a heavy sleep, which is sometimes irreversible. " With a swish of his wand the instructions and ingredients were on the board in the front and on the desks. "Get going, you only have 1 hr to complete this."
Kendra went to the potions cabinet and grabbed powdered moonstone, syrup of hellebore, powdered unicorn horn, and powdered porcupine quills.
She went and brought the ingredients to the table and got started.
A/N: Kendra will be good at potions cause shes worked with poison before and is used to mixing concoctions together. But Snape still hates her.
"Neville, pass me the powdered moonstone will you?"
She put some in till the potion turned green, and stirred the till the potion was blue. She added more moonstone until it turned purple, and let it simmer until it was pink.
"Neville, I'm putting you in charge of stirring the potion and giving me the ingredients. Can you give me the syrup of hellebore?" Neville nervously picked it up and dropped it, but with her quick reflexes, it was soon safely pouring inside the cauldron.
Giving him a wink and thanked him. Kendra followed the instruction carefully, Neville giving her the ingredients and stirring. It wasn't until she was waiting for the potion to turn orange did she notice the disarray of the room. Some couldrans had blue stuff coming out, some had melted the pot, and finally 1 had exploded. Guess who that is. Checking in on Ron and Hermione, and noticed they were bickering again, but their potion was pretty good. Only a few mishaps. Hopefully they stopped arguing by the time class was over.
Kendra added more porcupine quills in and gave the ladle to Neville. And finally added exactly 7 drops of hellebore to the potion and let it simmer.
She grabbed a clear vial and skillfully poured in the potion. Neville and Kendra walking up to Snape's desk and turned in their potion.
"Potter," he sneered, "I see you're done. Did you make this dunce do all the work?"
Neville shrank back in fear. "No professor, we both worked on it." Kendra said icily.
Snape examined the vial, and said,"Acceptable. You pass as always." He said the last part with a look of disappointment while Kendra snickered and had a smug look on her face.
Class finally ended and Kendra caught up to her friends.
"Hey. How did you do?" she asked. Hermione shot a glare at Ron who was looking anywhere but her.
"This idiot turned up the heat because he was to impatient to wait for the potions to turn the proper color. Not only that but he almost added to much porcupine quills and hellebore. Completely stupid if you ask me."
"That's sad. Well I got Neville as my partner.." she was saying but got rudely interrupted by Malfoy.
"Hello scarhead, Weasel and mudblood. How was potions? I bet the your duo was to preoccupied with snogging they almost failed. And you Potter, I told you not to be with these rift rafs, and look what you got yourself into. Now partnered with the idiot Longbottom."
"Hello to you Ferret, we don't need your presence here ruining our perfectly good day. Go away." Kendra said annoyed.
"You'll regret this Potter. Come Crabbe, Goyle."
Timeskip: Lunch
"Mate, we have so much homework." Ron complained again. "Not only do we have to write 3 essays, we also have to keep track of some stupid stars."
"Ron, it's to be expected. This is OWL year, the year." Hermione replied.
"Cut it will you? Ron stop complaining, we all have the same amount, if not more. And Hermione, didn't I tell you to please not mention OWL's again. I just want to relax during lunch, and no fighting between you two before I hex you guys."
They enjoyed their lunch when Hermione caught sight of a boy with blond hair.
"Hey," Ron and Kendra's attention on her, "Isn't that boy a ninja protecting the school?"
We both looked to where she was pointing at and saw Naruto, Sasuke, and Sakura chating down the hall.
"I think they're too young to be ninja's, I mean they're our age for goodness sakes."
"Hermione, that's their business and there's only. They are of age and their society is different than ours." Kendra said. She took out her book to distract herself from the conversation she knew was coming.
"Yes well they also kill people. That's so wrong! Can't they just knock them out and put them in Jail? Plus they're are age, they can't be that strong can they."
Kendra snorted at the idea, considering she had also killed made her think that both her friends would start hating her. They killed to survive, just like she had to do those years ago. There was no right or wrong, there was only be killed or kill. Most choose the former. That didn't necessarily mean she liked killing, but if it meant being alive, it was totally worth it. Thinking back, she remembered the hundreds of kills she made trying to escape Orochi-teme. The guards, the shinobi, and the civilians that tried to stop her. If she didn't kill she wouldn't be at Hogwarts, she would still be in that painful, dreaded lab. Most were chunin, genin and thugs that tried to stop her, and she had to put up a real fight with the jonin. She had little training, her magic and ok fighting skills was what saved her, when she ended up on Uzu, finding out who she was and what she was. A ninja, daughter of one of the clan heads daughter making her heir to the Uzumaki clan. That is until she found out who Naruto was. And that was fine with her, she already had the job of being the head of the Potter, Black, and Preverell line. She didn't need another. She was brought out of her musings when she heard many gasps.
People were looking out the windows watching two shinobi spar. It was Hinata and Neji Hyuuga. Both were landing and blocking quick jabs and palms, almost to fast to follow. Hinata moved her head to the right, ducked and tried to stop the charka flow by hitting a chakra point near the stomach. Of course Neji noticed this and jumped back, trying to hit Hinata's shoulder. Hinata used her palm to block it and she aimed for Neji's left forearm. The two went back and forth until Neji got the upper hand and beat Hinata. Both took a few deep breaths.
"You've gotten better Hinata-sama."
"T-thank you n-nii-san." She stuttered, "I'll t-try harder next t-time."
Those looking out the window stared in awe at the display.
"See Hermione, I have complete faith they can protect the school." And if they could, Kendra wouldn't have to reveal her secret at all, it was perfect, despite the fact that Kakashi knew I had a curse mark.
"Well I-I guess they can. Come on we're going to be late for our next class."
Kendra just shaked her head and followed, smiling.
