Seize the Day

The week after they're little night out marked 4 months since Ezra had been home. In that time Sabine had not really focused too much on housekeeping, just enough to have clean clothes to wear and clean dishes to use. So, she decided it was time to get to work, clean the tower and repaint the room. However, that could wait till tomorrow since it was late, and Ezra was already half asleep. The first month he was back he insisted on giving Sabine her space and sleep on the couch. The problem lied in that neither could get a decent sleep without knowing the other was close by. So soon enough Sabine convinced him to stay in the bed with her, for his own wellbeing, and he reluctantly agreed. Not that he had a problem sleeping in the same room with someone, Zeb got him used to that. It was he did not want to invade her privacy. She eventually got her way (as expected) and he stayed with her. Both were now sleeping better, but Ezra still had some dark dreams to work out. But today Sabine vowed she would not waste the day watching the holonet or going into the city with her boyfriend. They still, had yet to have that conversation, but she just pushed it off saying they would have time.

Now it was time to start the day. Sabine was in the kitchen fixing a pot of caf for the two of them while she sang one of Ezra's songs. This tune was called "Seize the Day" ironically it happened to be the day she picked to clean the tower.

Ezra woke to the must lovely sound he had every heard. As he slowly got up and rubbed the sleep out of his eyes, his ears became attuned to the sweetest voice singing one of the songs he had in his radio. Ezra, deciding to sneak out and listen to her for a while, walked silently out of the bedroom to find the women he loved most singing and cleaning the dishes from last night. He continued to listen till it got to a harmony in the song, then he pitched his voice in to match her harmony.

Sabine turned with a start, yet not stopping her dishwashing nor singing. She looked at him as he laughed, and the song ended.

"Its about time you got up." Sabine chastised, though she knew he was not a morning person.

"I was waiting on my alarm clock." He chuckled as he walked closer to her and pulled her by the waist to him. She let out a small gasp in surprise before he caught her lips with his own.

Sabine was slightly agitated that he caught singing, but from the way he said "alarm clock" he must have heard her before and not said anything. She pulled away and looked up at him. "No, not right now, we need to get to work, you promised you would help me clean today."

"I know, but now I have a condition you must agree to in order to proceed as you plan." He said with a cheeky grin.

"And what would that me oh mighty Jetii," Sabine asked as she moved closer to him.

"The radio stays on." Ezra answered as he walked over to said device.

"I have no issue with that. Plus, if I turned it off, you would turn it back on without lifting a finger. That and I get to hear you sing." She replied quite content with the idea.

"Alright then let's get to work."

Throughout the rest of the day, the two worked in their usual teamwork. Playing around, but getting work done. Eventually they split off, Ezra in the kitchen and Sabine in the bedroom reorganizing the clothing drawers. After a while she could no longer hear Ezra, since he was humming along to the radio, she walked out the bedroom to see his spray bottle sitting on the beside the sink. Now she was worried, he wouldn't just leave like this. "Ezra? Where are you? EZRA?" No response. She continued to look around the sink counter and found a small note, it read. "Sabine. I have gone out to pick up something for your life day, be back in a little while – Love Ezra". She had completely forgotten that today was her life day, she had been so caught up in being with Ezra again, time just stopped. Placing the note down, she went back to cleaning again.

'With Ezra'

Ezra was roaming the city market trying to find what he though would be perfect for Sabine's lifeday. He went from shop to shop, but still couldn't find the perfect gift. Suddenly he heard a song, not like a radio, like the one that his kyber crystal hummed. Moving through the crowded market, he came across a small jewels dealer. As he listened again for the song only to hear it come from a small basket behind him. Ezra turned to the basket to find a small pink crystal that had called out to him.

"75 credits for that little gem young man." The old shop keeper said kindly.

Ezra held the small crystal in his hand to confirm it was indeed a kyber crystal. "Deal." He said simply as he handed the older man the desired credits and turned to leave. "By the way where did this come from?"

"Oh, that little jewel came from Mandalor, a young man came in one day and asked for information in exchange for this jewel. I gave him what he wanted, and he handed over that gem." The old man said as he looked upon the jewel for one last time.

"Huh?" 'Perfect' Ezra thought to himself. "Thanks again." With that he turned and walked out. It was only then that he realized that it was dusk, and he better return to the tower. When Ezra got back, he was trying to find a piece of string for the crystal. He already had a small box, now he needed a way to finish the necklace.

Sabine was sitting alone in the living room watching the holonet; when the lift door opened revealing a smiling Ezra. "Hey, I was wondering where you ran off to."

"Oh, you know, picking up a few things here and there." Ezra tried to hide his excitement but failed miserably.

"Alright what are you up to?" She asked, a little annoyed, but mostly curious.

"Follow me please." He asked, and she did as she was asked. The two walked into the bedroom and moved towards Sabine's mirror. "Stand here." Once again doing as she was told, she moved in front of him while he reached to his back pocket. "I wasn't sure what to get you for your life day, but I think you might like this one." He said as he moved the box in his hands in front of her to reveal a small pink crystal tied on a loose string. Sabine's hands flew to her mouth as her eyes got glossy. "May I?" he asked as she just nodded her head. After removing her hands from her face, he pulled the necklace into place and tied it back behind her neck.

"Oh, Ezra I love it. This is the best life day present ever." She gleefully cheered as she leaned back into him.

"Come on, I thought that multi nozzle paint applicator I got you when you turned 18 was pretty cool." He joked as she just rolled her eyes.

"It was pretty good, but I think this tops it. Ni kar'tayl gar darasuum Ezra." She spoke the last sentence softly.

"I love you too. Now come on cake and drinks." Ezra declared as he moved to the kitchen. He wasn't much of a drinker, but he knew that she enjoyed partaking on special occasions.

The two ate and drank until both felt a little dizzy. Sabine tried to stand but almost fell if not for Ezra who caught her before falling himself, dragging her down too. Blushing at there closeness she kissed him fiercely with all the passion she could muster. Ezra tried to keep up but wasn't very coherent. Sabine decided to take control of the situation, not really in control of herself, and move it towards the bedroom. Though the two were only in a relationship for about 4 months, she wanted him. She didn't care what her mother thought about her. She had no other care in the world, just the man who she loved more than life itself.

Chapter… 7? yeah 7. Finally made my way through it. Didn't expect that ending did ya? I wanted to get to a more serious part of the story, sorry if it feels like I'm rushing this a bit. I have no more ideas for the in between. I do have a good set of plans for the next 3 or so chapters, one includes a trip to Krownest. At the time I'm writing this no one has found the pattern. A hint is to think back to the first couple of chapters and the song names. Until next time, TurboKnight out!

Update: The servers are being problematic to say the least, I uploaded chapter 8 on Halloween yet only some of you could see it. I am truly happy that some of you follow this story so articulately. If you cannot see past chapter 7 still, i recommend that you try on the app. I've been told it works there.
