Two weeks later Jennifer picked Mandy up for work. Mandy's car was in the shop. Jennifer made sure to pick her up early, so they could go get a coffee. They were at a coffee shop sitting at a table.
How's John doing? Jennifer signed
I feel so bad for him. Mandy signed. He's so bummed out.
Randy still won't talk to him?
Nope. He won't answer his calls or texts.
Has Randy tried to contact you at all?
No.
I think he just needs time.
I just hope things work out with their friendship. I feel bad.
Why?
John and Randy have been friends since years before neither of them met me. Now Randy isn't speaking to John because of me.
Everything will work itself out.
I hope so.
Later that night Mandy was sitting at home. Her phone rang.
"Hello?" She said.
"Hi baby." John said.
"Hi honey."
"How was your day?"
"Good." "How was yours?"
"Fine."
"Has Randy talked to you yet?"
"No."
"I'm sorry."
"Any news on your car?"
"I'm getting it back Friday."
"Good."
"I hate that car."
"I know." "I can't wait to see you next week."
"I can't wait either."
"I wish you were here right now." "It would really cheer me up."
"I'll cheer you up next week John, I promise."
"You will huh?"
"Yeah."
"I'm holding you to that."
"Good."
A half hour later John got a text. It read.
Does this cheer you up? - Mandy
Under the text was a picture of Mandy. She was laying naked on her bed. Looking at the camera with a sultry look on her face.
John's jaw dropped then he smirked.
Baby, wow. - John
Like it? - Mandy
It's hot, I love it. Now I really wish you were here. - John
Did it make you happy? - Mandy
Very - John
Two days later John was at an arena in New Hampshire. He was in catering.
"We need to talk." Randy said coming up behind him.
John turned around. "I never planned on doing anything with Mandy, ever." "It just happened, we got close and I fell in love with her." "I know why you did." "She's an amazing person." "I understand if you're pissed at me."
"I'm not." "I was thrown at first." "It just surprised me is all." "If she's with someone else, I'm glad it's you."
"Thanks."
"I just want her to be happy." He extended his hand. John shook it. "Even though I don't love her anymore, I still care about her." "If you ever hurt her, I'm beating the shit out of you."
"I got it." "You don't have to worry."
"Don't expect her parents to like you." "I know from experience." "They don't approve of Mandy dating hearing men." "Just don't expect it to go well."
"Thanks for the heads up."
