When he arrived in the cafeteria, Everett saw Candice, Dorrie, Frederick, Sofia, Zandar, James, Vivian, Amber, and Gilbert sitting together at a table.
"Everett," Candice called. "over here!"
Everett walked over to the table with his home packed lunch in hand and sat down.
"Did you hear about what's been going on around here and around Hexley Hall?" Amber asked.
"Amber! Nobody likes a gossip!" Vivian scolded sharply.
"Yes, I did hear about that, in fact, Doctor Lightfoot has put me on the case!" Everett answered Amber.
"But Everett," Sofia observed. "you can't solve this mystery on your own."
"That's right," Frederick observed. "the rest of us should help you."
Everett knew when he had been defeated.
"Okay, you all may help me." Everett said to his friends.
Suddenly, Sofia saw Derek out of the corner of her eye.
