When the knot of happily laughing people broke apart, Alex said, "Now, come on Lena", and she noticed the use of her first name, "unpack your gifts already so we can unpack ours too."

Lena smiled, nodded and attacked Alex' present first. It was a bottle of excellent scotch and Lena burst out laughing, which Alex found confusing, "What? Wrong brand?"

"No, not at all. It's great. Just open your present", Lena said.

And Alex did and understood why Lena had laughed. Lena had also given her Scotch, just her bottle was THE best Scotch ever and Alex could do nothing but shout in excitement and rushed to give Lena a hug.

"Oh my god, Lena, this is amazing! Thank you so much!"

Lena smiled happily, "You're most welcome! Kara told me that you'd said you wanted to get your hands on this brand ever since you tried it in a bar on vacation and so I thought I'd oblige."

Alex's eyes went wide and then she smiled so widely that Lena thought her face was going to split.

"And Maggie's present goes right with it, by the way", Lena added.

So Maggie opened her gift and found a set of exquisite Scotch glasses.

"Oh wow, those are fantastic! Lena, thanks!"

And even she gave Lena a hug, lighter than the others but still filled with affection.

"You're welcome. I thought if you're going to drink this Scotch then it should be in style", Lena winked.

Next up was Winn, who'd found his present and unwrapped it eagerly. It contained a belt buckle with a note stuck to it that said "Press me" and he did. Immediately, there was a flash of blue but nothing had changed.

"What just happened?" he asked, surprised.

Lena turned to James, "Punch Winn for me, please, will you?"

James stared, as did Winn, "What, Lena, why would I punch him?"

"Trust me, please. Just do it."

Slightly hesitant at first but then deciding to trust Lena, James aimed a blow at Winn's stomach. But the blow never connected and James' hand hit an invisible barrier.

"Ouch, what the heck is this?" he said in surprise as Winn laughed his head off and answered for Lena, "It's an invisible shield, bro! This is genius, Lena!"

"Well, a Luthor upbringing is good for some things", she said with a wink. "Now you'll be safer when you have to go into the field. But it only works against humans, ok? So no funny stunts around aliens!" she warned.

Jumping with joy, Winn turned off the shield and gave Lena a one-armed hug, "Thanks!"

Then James unwrapped his gift and let out a laugh, "Ha, a leather bag!"

Lena nodded, "Yes, since you kept saying that you didn't like your current one anymore and it was too small anyway. I thought this would be useful."

"I love it, thanks a lot, Lena!" he added, with a wink, giving Lena a hug as well.

"My pleasure."

Then she turned to J'onn who'd been watching the entire scene with fondness. He liked seeing his people happy.

"J'onn I hope I didn't cross any lines with yours", she said, worry written all over her face.
