FLYING BACK TO New York is a relief.

Spending too much time internationally can really mess you up with languages. My tongue twisted Croatian, English, Latin, Greek, and Italian all together like a smoothie. Being a little homesick, and trying to hold back powerful feelings away, is burdening.

"Will, can you put something on? We're almost in New York in ten minutes." I asked him. He nodded inattentively, and randomly picked a tape. At the sound of Taylor Swift's Lover's opening instruments, Will scrambled to change it.

My cheeks flamed at the memory just a few days ago. "Sorry." He muttered, and put something else on. I relaxed at Let You Down by NF. I wondered if Will was trying to message me, but staring at him. His aimless expression as he wrote in his notebook.

Will carried this bright orange composition notebook, he wrote on it all the time. I remembered last month how I asked him about it.

I rested my head on his lap, as Will smiled down at me as he wrote.

What are you doing? I asked for his attention. He grinned as he leaned down and kissed me softly. Nothing.

I crossed my elbows. Really? Fine.

He shook his head, Sorry but, it's for you.

What? He smiled so brightly. One day, when I finish I'll give it to you.

He wrote on it daily or at least tried to.

I shook my thoughts away, determined to be emotionless.

As soon as I saw the ground, I grabbed the wheel and tried to aim for the ground. Being on 6th Avenue, I sighed relieved of being so close I smiled at the white van that took us across the ocean.

"Are you ready?" He asked, his tone neutral. "Nope." He smiled thinly. That made me feel terrible. All his smiles were small now, like mine not big and bright.

I tugged the guilt away preoccupying myself with walking the block. Upon seeing the Empire State Building the uneasiness spread on my body like a disease. I shivered at the bad memories. Everything in my vision spun, and my breathing- I was hyperventilating. The New Yorkian air was being inflated into my lungs overworking tenfold.

Will noticed and placed his hand on my shoulder gently. That seemed to grasp me back to the world. I stared at his face mystified. His face was not grim anymore because the luminosity returned into his crystal sky blue eyes.

He smiled reassuringly, "it's okay." He whispered into my ear. I stilled. In context, those words seemed to fit but I couldn't help but wonder if he was saying that because he noticed my guilt.

I walked near the reception office to see Kevin invested in his book again. "Floor 600," I mumbled to him. He glanced away from his book, annoyed, "no such floor and whatever." He relented.

"Look, Kevin," I addressed him, pulling out my Stygian sword pointing it to the desk. "Don't mess with me right now. Cupid has my mother and I need to save her so- GIVE ME THE DANG KEY!" I growled.

He yelped struggling to rapidly throw me the key. I instantly made my way to the elevator ignoring others' pestering eyes.

"He won't hurt you," Will promised, "probably. Take these breathing exercises to help your fear. Oh! And eat chocolate- it helps." He gave his orders before running to the elevator.

I plugged the card in, as the doors closed. The sound of the weirdly calm music that played out of the speaker. I tapped my foot restlessly. "Ne- I mean, Nico why don't you relax? Just calm down, this can't be good for your blood pressure levels. I-" he paused thinking, "I care about you. You're my friend." He smiled.

"I think my blood pressure will be fine. Cupid on the other hand, not so much." I scowled. Will groaned, "I officially give up. Curse the day I became your doctor."

The doors opened and my breathing sharpened. Olympus's proud buildings that reflected light. I moved away, letting my fury be exposed through my expression. Nymphs cleared the way, Minor gods raised an eyebrow, some even tried to open their mouths but I dashed past them.

I caught Will muttering apologies for me. Passing Aphrodite's temple/ castle I smiled coldly at seeing Eros's.

Climbing the stairs, I invited myself in. "Nico! I've been expecting you." I turned to see Zephyros grinning. I pulled out my blade, "Not in the mood, Zephyros."

He frowned, "Such violent actions! Here I thought we are friends."

"Yeah, no," I responded moving closer.

His curly brown hair swirled like currents of wind. "Pity." He said flicking his wrist.

Gusts of wind pushed an impact on my chest attempting to knock me down and pushing me off of Olympus. I held my ground calling the shadows to pull together.

Will came running in short of breath, "So many-" wheeze, " stairs."

"You came from the side entrance?" He nodded slowly. He notched an arrow to Zephyros who flicked it away with the air.

Will cursed. I dug my sword to the floor holding on to it. Zephyros grinned, adjusting his chiton. "You will never win. You should thank Eros for doing what he is. I knew he was supportive, but doing all this for you. It surprises me. Eros is very interested in your life. Involving with love that is." He spread his arm and a visible inanimate sword appeared. The hilt was made from a stone. Yet the blade was made of wind, the air swirled into a blade shape.

I looked at him in shock. Zephyros smirked and charged. I sidestepped yet the wind pressure me to be still. Loosening my grip on my sword, I was stuck. I closed my eyes embracing the soon coming impact.

A grunt. I shivered as an icy cold gust of air passed through me. I opened my eyes. Will pants endlessly, a bow resting in his arms. I looked at Zephyros, five arrows were planted into his back. Ichor was dripping, staining the marble floor.

I quickly moved to Will. Zephyros snarled, "This is not the end! Eros is trying to-"

"Zephyros, it's time to tell them about my plan." A masculine voice answered.

I slowly turned, my vision tweaking from red. The anger I carried built up to dangerous levels.

Cupid.

"Come in! Come in! You are my guests, after all." He smiled.
