Disclaimer: The show isn't mine for the last time! I thought we were past this already…..
Been a little busy but things have slowed down more so hopefully I can update regularly again….
Cat quickly hopped out of the car, practically kicked her door down when she opened it. She rushed up the stairs to her room and started stuffing clothes in her bag. She left but quickly came back for Mr. Purple. He claimed to hate being at other peoples houses but she could see his small little smile. He reminded her of Jade. Silly Mr. Purple, Cat thought. She ran down the stairs again, almost tripping. "Hey Kitty where are you going?' Her brother called.
She stopped running and stopped to smile at him, almost forgetting about the Car waiting outside for her. Almost. Her heavy bag that laid on her shoulder was a reminder of that. "Spending the night at a friends house!" He nodded with a smile.
"Are you gonna be okay here alone?" She asked more as an afterthought. She hadn't thought about Dylan.
He laughed and waved her off, "Yeah i'll be fine. And if not, I'm sure you'll get a call from our doctor anyway. Have fun!" He stood up to give her a quick hug.
"Kay, Kay! You too!" She smiled and bolted out the door, Almost tripping again when she ran to the car. The whole trip probably took 7 minutes.
"You didn't have to be that quick you know," Tori chuckled, pulling out of the driveway.
Cat huffed, after she actually caught her breath from running. "You said to be quick!" She replied, pulling her seat belt over her, sulking.
"Yeah but I didn't think you'd literally take five minutes" She laughed again. Cat shrugged and played with Mr. Purple.
"So did you ever figure out why Jade was avoiding you?" Tori asked, making small talk. Cat looked up, her eyebrows arched,
"No…" Cat sighed and put Mr Purple down and instead stared out the window. Tori tried turning the radio on to lift Cat's mood. That didn't work.
It was Tori's time to sigh now. Jade was a touchy subject for Cat. Either it made her extremely happy or extremely sad. Tori didn't know exactly why but she thought she might have a feeling. She'd seen Cat in her perfectly happy Cat mood only to have it falter every time she caught Jade and Beck kissing. That had to mean something right? Or how Car's first choice for everything is always Jade. That could just be because they're best friends but still. Why not throw that out there too? It would also explain why Cat got so nervous around Jade and tried to impress her. Did Cat like Jade? Tori couldn't even begin to process that thought. First off, WHY? Jade is so mean. A bad person. Even to Cat. Sure, Tori can admit that Jade is more lenient with Cat, more patient and what not but isn't everyone? Hurting Cat is like hurting an already dead animal. It's horrible and unnecessary. Especially because she's so sensitive. Jade is also a complete opposite of Cat. How could Cat like someone that hates everything they stand for as a person? It just didn't make sense. She hoped this wasn't the case and that Cat didn't like Jade because that would just be..no good. She was worried Jade might just use Cat to her advantage.
But on the other hand, Cat always defended Jade, saying she was always nice to her. Just not when anyone is around. So that could be true. She did get a glimpse of it when she had the pleasant surprise of finding Jade passed out on Cat's lap in the black box. So maybe Tori didn't know Jade as well as she thought she did. After all, Jade and Cat have been best friends for years...god knows how, those two are always bickering. Tori shrugged, turning the music up. Whatever brought her to Beck she didn't mind.
Cat on the other hand was having an internal battle. Did Jade avoid her because of the kiss? Was she just being her regular self? Was Cat a bad kisser. Did her breath smell? Whatever it was, it had been bothering Car all week. She was going to ask Jade when they ate lunch together but she chickened out. She was a lot bolder over text. Instead they ended up talking about other things. Which she didn't mind. Cat loved talking to Jade.
The car finally stopped. Seeing the Vega house bright lightly made Cat feel a lot better. She took her things out and skipped to the front door to wait for Tori who silently laughed and unlocked the door. Trina was there on the couch, snoring away. That made both of them giggle. "Well let's get started on those cookies!" Tori exclaimed walking into the kitchen.
"Yay!" Cat yelled, dropping her stuff and running happily to Tori. That sure did the trick to get Cat happy again. No one liked it when Cat was sad. It was just so un-normal that you wanted to do anything to get her happy again. Even bake cookies at 7:30 on a school night. If there was anything Tori was sure about, was that Cat definitely wasn't boring. She never was bored around her. She always was talking about something or doing something. Sometimes that was the problem. Tori laughed to herself when Cat grabbed a wooden spoon and started singing a song with it.
