Chapter 7 - Toonified - Part I
(August 15, 2020, 5am, KP Toon World, the day of the ceremony)
A portal opened up in an open field and spat out Drakken and Shego from the live-action world.
Drakken, who'd had his eyes closed the entire time, opened them. He had bits of grass in his mouth
"Shego? Are you all right?"
Shego opened her eyes as well and said sarcastically, "Never better, Dr. D.!"
"Where are we, by the way?" Drakken asked.
"I think the more appropriate question to ask is when are we," Shego remarked. "Now, spit out that grass, Doc. You're not a cow!"
Drakken spat out the grass and then took one look at his assistant.
"Um...Shego?"
"What is it this time, Dr. D.?"
"No offense or anything, but I think you got something on your upper lip..."
Shego took out her compact mirror and gasped.
"OH...MY...GOD!" she exclaimed.
"Do you mean that in a good way or a bad way?" Drakken questioned.
Shego threw her compact mirror aside and growled.
"UGH...a VERY bad way, Dr. D.! Look at us! We're both cartoons!"
Drakken looked at his own hands and gasped.
"Perhaps now is not the best time to even speak...?" he asked with a whimper.
"I'll deal with you on this matter later," Shego snarled. "Right now, we gotta find out where the heck are we are no thanks to your dumb machine!"
"Surely there must be a nearby road or something," Drakken insisted, knowing that he'd get his punishment later.
"Look, Dr. D.! I think I found one!" Shego exclaimed, pointing to a nearby Colorado state highway. This was CO Highway 470 and they were not far from a truck stop.
The two villains ran up to the side of the highway and looked at a sign.
"Middleton... it can't be!" Drakken exclaimed.
"Yet, there it is!" Shego added.
Middleton was about 40 miles away from where they were.
"Now, we'll have to ask two things... Does Kim Possible exist in this universe? And does the beer bug exist?" Drakken wondered.
"Well then, there's only one way to find out!" Shego replied with a chuckle.
"But, um, Shego, should we put on a disguise of some sort? I don't want to give the impression of...you know...being wanted criminals and all..."
"Hmm...you're right on that front, Dr. D. The thing is...where can we get our disguises from?"
Shego spotted about ten black eighteen-wheelers with the logo of the new evil organization that took over for the now-disbanded Worldwide Evil Empire. It was known Villains Initiative to Allocate Lands, or VIAL for short, led by the mysterious Dr. Grasslands. Global Justice had run into them before and foiled several of their schemes, led by Kim and her team.
What neither the toon heroes or real-world villains knew, was Dr. Grasslands had ordered an operation to disrupt that year's Fannies ceremony, making her one of the few villains that GJ had faced to not sign the Fannies Holiday Truce. She had named it Operation Curtain Drop.
Drakken and Shego snuck around the trucks to avoid being caught. And it was a good thing as well, for the hench-people were buying snacks to refuel on their 300-mile long trip.
The two real-world villains overheard the details of the evil scheme on wanting to disrupt the Fannies.
"So, do you have something that would knock out at least two of them?" Drakken asked Shego. He pointed towards two hench-people (one man and one woman) that were the drivers of one of those eighteen-wheelers.
"When my powers are on the low setting, Dr. D., a single touch to the person can knock them out for at least seven hours," Shego explained.
"But, again, what about the virus?" Drakken wondered, bringing that up as well. "Those hench-people aren't exactly wearing masks."
Shego sighed and put on her green and black protective mask. Drakken put on his blue scar mask as well.
"So what do you think on who'll win the Best Kim/Ron?" the henchwoman asked. She had the latest issue of the local newspaper, the Middeton Examiner, in her hand.
The henchman replied, "My money is on Sabre's story, This is Our Year!"
Shego utilized the low setting on her gauntlets to poke the two gossipers from behind, knocking them out. The two hench-people staggered before both Drakken and Shego grabbed them and took them into the bushes, claiming their attire.
Once clad in the disguises, Drakken and Shego came out of the bushes.
"Ugh...why does this outfit feel itchy?!" Drakken complained.
"You'll live..." Shego sighed.
"Now let's get the paper so that we can find out if Kim Possible exists in this universe!" Drakken exclaimed.
He grabbed the Examiner from the knocked-out female henchperson and he read the headline.
"15th Kim Possible Fannies Awards are Tonight, Heavily Nominated Gothicthundra and BCBDrums Expected To Host"
"Ugh...Kim Possible-Stoppable and her husband, Ron, are expected to present the Best Author award..."
"I guess that answers your question, Dr. D.," Shego smirked. "Now can you check and see if there's any news of the pandemic?"
Drakken looked through the entirety of the paper: the national news (a), local news (b), opinion (c), business (d), classifieds (e), sports (f), lifestyle (g), health (h), and real estate (i).
"Shego...I don't believe this! There's no news of the virus anywhere!" Drakken exclaimed. "Do you know what this means?"
"What are you getting at, Dr. D.?" Shego sighed.
"No virus means no masks, no social distancing, no quarantine, no self-isolation, no restrictions on gathering... It means we are finally able to do acts of evil!" Drakken shouted with glee.
"I know it may be accidental that your machine thing got us here, but I think this plan is so dumb...it just may work!" Shego replied.
"Thank you, Shego!" Drakken replied. "Now let's commandeer those eighteen-wheelers!"
Drakken got aboard one of the trucks and Shego got onboard another.
Dr. Grasslands came on the vehicle's advanced viewscreens, not aware on what had happened to two of her operatives. "Now...fellow VIAL agents, we are going to our lair on the top of Mt. Doublehead so that we can fire our laser to transform the theater into a wasteland.
All of the VIAL agents laughed as they all started up the engines to their eighteen-wheelers and drove out of the truck stop, unaware that they had two unwanted guests.
