Branch Out of Water

At Poppy's pod, Poppy and Aggie were in the middle of a blindfold scrapbooking spree, trying to see who can make the best one without being to see. Poppy finished first, but her scrapbook turned out to be a huge wreck. She made a mental note of this, saying, "Huh. Guess I can't do that." when she turned and saw Aggie's, however, her jaw dropped at how beautiful and elegant her scrapbook looked. Aggie took off her blindfold to see, saying, "Hm...not one of my best ones...but it'll do." Poppy didn't even have the words to describe how beautiful it was or how talented the Master of Music was. However, she didn't have time to because suddenly, they were interrupted by two heavy breathing Trolls, covered in glitter, entering the pod as complete messes. Poppy and Aggie looked horrified to see them in such a disheveled state as they asked in unison, "Branch/McJagger! What happened to you"?! Branch marched up to Poppy, saying, "Things have gotten way out of hand, Poppy! We need to talk right now"! McJagger came up to Aggie, saying, "See, we got's a bit of a situation involving the Techno trolls, if you know what I mean. Let my man Branch clear things up for you." Poppy was smiling as she says, 'Of course you both can talk to me, but you're covered in glitter, so first..." as she rushed to grab her camera and take a picture, smiling at how great it turned out. Branch groaned in frustration while McJagger said, "I don't mind. This glitter brings out the funky side of my sweet jacket. But in all seriousness, you do need to hear us out, Ms. Poppy and Ms. Aggie." While Aggie was trying to stifle her laughter at the sight of Branch in glitter, she cleared her throat and then said, "Of course. Now, tell us what happened."

Branch explained, "It all started 4 days ago. I was going for my daily 4:00 am swim at Hiding Place hot springs when I saw McJagger coming to the same spot with me. At first, I was confused, but then, he told me how he also enjoyed taking 4:00 am dips. so, we agreed that we could swim together when we saw that the Techno Trolls were having a rave in our hot spring pool." Aggie held her hands up as she asked, "Hold the glitter, no offense. You guys went swimming at 4 in the morning? Why"? McJagger answered, "Well, it's the most refreshing hour of the day, Aggs. At 4 am, a nice dip in a warm hot spring can really make a troll feel smoother than melted butter." Branch continued with, "His smooth words aside, McJagger is right. It's the most refreshing hour of the day, Poppy! And without my morning swim, my entire day gets thrown off in a million horrifying ways"! Branch then went off, listing how his day gets thrown off because of missing his morning swim. He spills his coffee because of his residing exhaustion and doesn't even bother about the pain of his feet burning, only repeating "Ow," so many times. He wears mismatched socks despite not wearing socks to begin with. And earlier today, he got caught in Quickglitter while picking berries at the Flavorberry Patch, despite not even eating Flavorberries. After hearing his side of the story, Aggie then asked, "Were you out of it the same way Branch was, McJagger"? McJagger shrugged while saying, "Not in the same sense as he was, but my exhaustion did leave me disoriented. Hence earlier, I was trying to find the ice cream shop and ended up wandering into the Quickglitter that Branch was stuck in."

Poppy considered this, saying, "I feel as if though I must ask, did you try talking to the Techno Trolls about it"? Branch answered solemnly, "Eh, you know I'm not that much of a talker. I'm more of a lock-myself-in-an-underground-fortress-and-groan...er." Aggie then asked, "What about Laguna? Did you try talking to her about it"? McJagger answered, "I tried to talk to my lovely Laguna that night, but she was asleep. It turns out she's a day-time rave troll, not an early-in-the-morning-and-loves-to-be-noisy...troll. Of course, I respect it since I'm a day-time partyer myself, but I found it hard to talk to the other Techno trolls about this, especially since they were having so much fun, and who am I to put a dark cloud over their fun. Dig what I'm trying to say"? Aggie and Poppy thought for a minute as the Pop Queen told both trolls, "Well, I think you both should build a friendship with the Techno trolls. Maybe as friends, you guys can figure it out"? Poppy then started a long uh session with Branch, who was beginning to feel awkward about the situation, while Aggie and McJagger watched this go one, snickering silently. When Poppy commented, "I can do this all day," Branch gave up, saying, "Ok! We'll try your thing," before falling on the ground in exhaustion. McJagger then said, "Alright. We are going on an underwater road trip. Groovy," as he and Aggie started to walk out together while Poppy dragged an exhausted Branch behind them.

They soon made it to the pond where Techno Lagoon resided as they hopped onto a flower elevator, except for Aggie, who dove into the water since she could swim and breathe underwater due to her Techno tailfin. Poppy, McJagger, and Branch placed their breathing helmets on and rode the flower elevator down to the pond's bottom floor. Underwater, there were so many glowing fishes and other assorted creatures. Once they made it to the bottom floor, the four of them took in the awesome sights of Techno Lagoon, a bright, vibrant, and fun place to jam and rave. Synth of in the middle of a huge crowd, pumping his arms up and shouting, "Woohoo," with the other Techno trolls joining him. Branch was nervous about this as Poppy ushered him to talk to Synth. McJagger added, "come on, Branch, it's worth a shot at least. Let's give them some love." Branch took a deep breath as the pair walked towards the Techno ambassador. Branch started things off by saying, "Hi, Synth! Can I..." though the music made it hard for him to hear or say anything. Branch then asked, "Can I talk to you for a second"? Synth turned around and answered, "Sorry, bro. The music is calling the shots! and the music says we rave! Woohoo," as the fellow trolls cheered along with him. McJagger then spoke up, saying, "We kind of need to talk to you, man. It's an important issue." Synth's response to that was, "Yeah! It's important because it revitalizes our spirits! woohoo," as the other Techno troll cheered along with him again. Not wanting to give up, Branch continued with, "Yes, I can see that the music says that. Could the music make an exception or.." before getting interrupted by Synth shouting, 'I like you! And your friend! What are your rave names" McJagger and Branch looked at one another before shrugging as if they didn't know how to answer that question.

Synth didn't seem to mind as he said, "Ohh! How about Dubstep and Soundwave"? McJagger chuckled and said, "Sounds groovy to me," as Branch replied through gritted teeth, "Absolutely not." However, Synth didn't seem to listen to Branch as he grabbed both Branch and McJagger's hands and raised them, shouting, "Their names are dubstep and Soundwave," as the crowd repeated those given names. McJagger seemed to be enjoying this rave while Branch was beginning to get irritated. McJagger saw this and said, "Easy, Branch. This ain't so bad. Besides, I think, for now, the best thing for us to do is to go with the flow and try doing the things that they like." Suddenly, a familiar voice entered the fray, saying, "McJagger? Is that you"? The funk troll turned and saw that Laguna was swimming right towards them as the two happily reunited and shared a hug, with Laguna asking, "It's so great to see you again, but what are you doing here"? McJagger smiled, saying, "Came here with Branch to ask Synth a favor, but now, I'm also here to see you, my lovely Laguna." Laguna blushed as she replied while tapping her fingers, "Note: you sure know how to make a troll blush. Since you're here, you mind if I show you around? We can also rave to this beat because I can feel it taking hold right now, and it refuses to let me go." McJagger nodded, saying, "All right, all right, all right. Groovy plan, Laguna. Let's go." As Laguna began to lead the way, McJagger shouted at Branch, "Branch, can you take care of the mission by yourself for the time being? Thanks, bud," and he was gone long before Branch could even protest about the situation.

He facepalmed before saying to Synth, "Look, let's cut to the chase. I'd really like it if I could have the Hiding Place Hot Springs back for my daily 4:00 am swims. Agreed"? Synth then shook his head, saying, "Ooh. Sorry, bro. That spot is perfect for our wake-up rave. It makes every day so "imitates blow horns*." Branch was beginning to lose it but then remembered what McJagger had told him earlier. With that, he took a deep breath and said, "Tell you what, Synth. We can discuss this later. For now, why don't I spend the day here doing things you like to do? You know, become friends"? Synth thought about it before saying, "It sure sounds like a lot of fun, but...the only issue is...who's going to keep the rave going while we're out doing fun things"? A new voice entered the fray, saying, "It's cool, twin brother. I'll manage the rave. You go spend some time with Branch." Branch was surprised to see that the voice came from Techno Tribe leader, King Trollex, as he says, "king Trollex! What are you doing here"? King Trollex smiled, answering, "I came to make sure everything's alright here in Techno Lagoon. Every since Trollstopia started, everyone's been raving about this place so much, I had to plan days to come and visit to see how things are going." Branch then said, "That sounds reasonable. But hold on a second. you said twin brother...does that mean Synth is your brother"? Trollex nodded as Synth said, "Yep, Dubstep! Trollex and I are twins. We were born together, we grew up together, and we rave together." Both twins shot their hands up and shouted, "Woohoo," as the crowd followed tout suite. Branch was stunned but snapped out of it when synth aid, "So, it's settled. We're going to have a lot of fun, Dubstep! But before we go, there's something I've always wanted to do. You came down here with Aggie, am I right"?

Branch nodded as Synth then shot a teasing look to his brother before shouting at the top of his lungs, "AGATHA! YOUR BOYFRIEND'S HERE," before grabbing Branch and disappearing before Trollex could even respond. The Techno leader facepalmed while blushing, muttering, "I am so going to kill you later," as Aggie came swimming around at supersonic speed, shouting, "Alright! Who said that"?! However, when she and Trollex locked eyes at one another, any initial anger they might've felt went away as they embraced in each other's arms, blushing in embarrassment due to Synth's sudden outburst. After remaining silent while looking at each other's loving gaze, Aggie broke the silence by saying, "I've missed you so much." Trollex smiled, replying, "I've missed you too, Aggie." She then looked over at the DJ stand and said, "Are you thinking what I'm thinking, Trollex"? He looked over and nodded, saying, "If it is what I think you're thinking, let's rave the roof off this place." They swam over as Trollex whispered something to the DJ, who nodded and started to play the song he requested. Trollex grabbed two seashell microphones, giving one to Aggie, as the rave crowd looked up to see what was about to happen. Poppy watched in awe as the two lovebirds began their performance.

At that moment, Laguna and McJagger had noticed what was going on as the funk troll grabbed two microphones, gave one to Laguna, and the pair joined in with Aggie and Trollex.

And if I listen, I can hear you through the stereo in that bright, neon noise. What I've been missing in my life, what I've been dreaming of. You'll be that girl! You'll be that girl! You'll be!

The crowd cheered and applauded them for an outstanding performance as Trollex then spun Aggie and lowered her into a romantic kiss. The Magical Musical Troll accepted the kiss, closing her eyes in content. McJagger wrapped one of his arms around Laguna and allowed her to smile and nizzle into his chest despite wearing a magenta blush on her cheeks. So far, these two couples were the happiest ones Techno Lagoon has ever seen, which leaves one to question how are Synth and Branch doing. Back on land, Synth and Branch were doing a popular Techno Troll activity: whirlpool surfing! For obvious reasons, synth was a natural, while Branch was struggling and ended up getting sucked into the whirlpool. They were then doing another popular activity called treadingtation, which is the Techno Troll's form of meditation while floating on the water with ease. Though for Branch, who couldn't even stay upright and tread water correctly, was having a hard time with this as well and comically got sucked into another whirlpool...again. Finally, Synth introduced him to sea urchin acupunctures, where other trolls would put the needles from sea urchins on your head, which is supposed to be soothing. However, Branch felt like this was dangerous and decided to make a run for it...right into another whirlpool.

Back on the shore, Poppy was kicking her feet in the water when Branch was washed up onto the shore. The loner troll got up and said, "That's it! I'm done! We will never get the Hot Spring Issue resolved because the Techno Trolls and I will never become friends"! Branch started to march back home until Poppy reminded him that if he stopped now, his life was still going to become thrown off in a million horrifying ways, which convinced him to try harder, but it didn't mean he was happy about it. He jumped back in the water and went to talk to Synth again, telling him that he wanted to try and work this out. A little confused at first, Synth decided to give it a go as Branch pulled out some glowsticks and shouted in a party voice, 'Let's get this party started"! The other trolls came and picked him up, party style, as Branch felt like this time, it would actually work.

Branch: Came to win! Win a new friends, and I'm all in! And I'm not leaving till it happens, and we're friends until the end! So, let's get this party going!

After Branch successfully did the fun things synth wanted to do, Branch commented, "Wow, Synth! It feels like we've made a genuine connection"! Synth smiled and said, "Yep! We make a great mashup! In fact, we've been thinking, and we decided to give you your hot springs back"! Branch smiled, saying, "Oh, thank you so much, Synth"! Synth nodded and said, "No problem, Dubstep! Thank you for such a fun day! We're now officially best friends! Woohoo," as he jumped into the water, leaving Branch alone and smiling. Soon, McJagger came over to him, saying, "Hey Branch. It seems like things went well for you." He nodded, replying, "Yep! I was able to get the hot springs back and made a new friend in the process. How'd your day go with Laguna, by the way"? McJagger blushed, saying, "We had a pretty good time. So much love was given to one another. She's a really special Techno troll, man. Anyways, so,...4 am swim tomorrow"? Branch nodded, saying, "You know it," as they both started to head back. Later on, at 4 am the next day, Branch and McJagger quietly walked to Hiding Place hot Springs and found it-empty, with a peaceful waterfall rushing. Branch jumped in, creating a huge splash as McJagger walked in, saying, "Ooh-ooh. Mmm, mm, mm. I've missed the warm sensations of the water relaxing my string-tight muscles and wearing away any remaining frustrations." Branch, who was floating on his back, commented, "You said it," as both trolls sighed in happiness and enjoyed the feeling of satisfaction in the hot spring.

As the sun started to rise hours later, Branch was strolling through the village and tossed a peach up, a propeller bug slicing it as he caught the slices safely on a plate. Poppy and Aggie, who noticed this, were surprised as Poppy commented, "Well, someone's in a good mood," as Aggie added, "You seem to have an extra pep in your step this morning." McJagger, who was walking towards him while sipping on a cup of coffee, said, "Well, look who's feeling extra funky this fine and groovy morning." Branch answered, "Yep. I became friends with Synth, got the morning swim back, and now, everything's coming up Branch." McJagger smiled and said, "All right, all right, all right. We in the zone. Say Aggs, how'd your day with Prince Charming go yesterday"? Aggie almost choked on the muffin she was eating as she swallowed before replying, "It went well. Trollex and I spent a lot of time together, swimming around, had a picnic on the shore, took a romantic stroll to Pixie Meadows. Iy was really nice." Though Aggie was blushing out of embarrassment, especially since McJagger called Trollex Prince Charming, she had to admit to herself: she loved it, and it was true. To her, Trollex was incredibly charming; King Charming to be exact. McJagger then noticed something in the distance as he asked Branch, "Hey Branch, my man, have you noticed that the techno trolls are acting a bit weird this morning"? Branch looked up and saw that three techno troll girls were spilling coffee on the ground, burning their feet, but they didn't seem to have the energy to care, only repeating, "Ow," the same way Branch did.

This startled Branch as Poppy commented, "Oh, I see what's going on," as Aggie added, "Seems like they didn't get their morning rave in, and now, they're tired, and their morning has been thrown-off. Instead of feeling like *imitates air horns*, they feel like *imitates a tuba*." Branch seemed to have become really panicked when he noticed Trollex coming towards them as he shouted, "Trollex! You're ok,"! He looked at Branch confusingly, saying, "Of course I'm alright, but I need to ask you guys something important." Aggie then noticed something on Trollex as she snickered quietly, trying to stifle her laughter while Poppy noticed it too, asking, "Uh, question. Why are you wearing mismatched socks, Trollex"? Trollex looked down and saw that on his right fin was a green eel themed sock and on his left was a pink sock decorated with red hearts. Branch screamed at the sight of this, as Trollex commented, "The weirdest part is that I don't even wear socks, but that's not important right now! Has any of you guys seen Synth? I've been trying to find him all morning"! They all shook their heads as Poppy said, "No, we haven't, but we can help you look. Aggie, you and Trollex look by the shorelines. I'll ask around town and see if I can spot him around town. McJagger, Branch, you two look in the forest." Aggie teamed up with Trollex as they went in the shorelines' direction while Poppy ran towards the town square.

McJagger turned to branch as he says, "Hold up. I think I have an idea where Synth might be. Branch, what was the last thing you did when you had your morning thrown off yesterday"? Branch thought about it before answering, "I went to pick Flavorberries at the...*gasp* Flavorberry Patch! But that's where the Quickglitter is! We got to hurry and rescue him"! With that, McJagger and Branch ran as fast as possible into the forest, looking for Synth and/or the Flavoryberry Patch. Suddenly, a cry for help caught their attention as they found synth trapped in the quick glitter and sinking pretty fast. Branch and McJagger reached their hair out, hoping that Synth could grab it, but they were just barely out of reach. Synth was really terrified as he cried out, "This is it for me, Dubstep and Soundwave! The final beat drop! but if I'm going out, I'm going out raving"! As he did what he thought would be his final rave motion, McJagger turned to face Branch and said, "Branch! Find something that can get him to stop sinking! I'll go get Poppy and find some help," as he started to rush back to Trollstopia in search of help. Branch looked at his panicked Techno friend and knew what he had to do. He launched himself into the air and landed in the Quickglitter next to Synth. In disbelief, synth asked, "Dubstep! What are you doing"?! Branch's answer to that was, "I'm helping a friend! You can float out of this if you treaditate! Just turn down the volume of the world and turn up the volume of you"! Synth was not sure that this was such a good idea, but Branch held him and kept repeating, "Turn up the volume on you," even after they sunk all the way into the Quickglitter. Luckily, thanks to Branch, Synth was able to use the advice he taught Branch yesterday as they both were able to get out of the Quickglitter easy peasy.

Once they got back onto dry land and cleaned off the glitter, Synth commented, 'Dubstep! You saved me"! Branch smiled, replying, "Well, it's the least I could do...for a friend. In fact, I want the Techno Trolls to have the hot springs back. You guys need it more than I do," Synth felt deeply touched as he said, "Bro...that's so sweet. Dubstep, would you like to join us for a morning rave"? Branch was a little unsure, which resulted in another uh...fest. However, it was broken when McJagger came running back with Poppy, Aggie, and Trollex behind him. When they saw that Synth and Branch were ok, they became relieved as Trollex ran and hugged his brother, saying, "Synth! Thank techno that you're alright. I was so worried about you, man." Synth smiled, commenting, "It's all good! Dubstep helped me channel the treaditation flow, and we were able to get free." Poppy waked up to Branch, saying, "Well, what a caring friend you've become, Branch," as Branch nervously smiled, but inside, he was happy that things turned out alright in the end. Synth then said, "To celebrate dubstep's heroism, you're all invited to join our morning rave tomorrow! You're going to have a ball"! The following morning, at 4 am at Hiding Place Hot Springs, the Techno Trolls were hosting their morning rave as Poppy, Branch, McJagger, and Aggie were having the times of their lives. Branch seemed to be enjoying it the most as he shouted, 'This is ten times as refreshing as my morning swim! The water, the beat, it's.." as Synth and Branch both mimicked air horns, with the crowd following their movements and repeating the sound as was dancing to the groove when he bumped into Laguna, to his surprise, as he asked, "Hey, Laguna. I thought you weren't an early morning partyer"? Laguna blushed and shrugged, answering, "Normally, yes, but...tonight seemed like a great night to try something new out." McJagger smiled and commented, "Sweet melody. So...care to dance"? He took Laguna by the hand as the two danced to the rave music. Meanwhile, Aggie and Trollex were swimming above the crowd, doing a special underwater/aerial tango, keeping a fond gaze at one another. As Trollex slowly dipped Aggie, Synth came and asked loudly, "Yo! Brother! When are you going to ask Master Aggie to marry you"?! Trollex stopped and became deeply embarrassed, blushing a dark red as Aggie tried to stifle her increasing laughter. Synth had a good laugh about it, though, as he swam away as fast as he could, with Trollex chasing him while shouting, "Get back here"! Aggie giggled at the two brother's crazy antics as she blushed while saying to herself, "I do hope one day he does ask to marry me," as she swam after Trollex, hoping to keep him from doing anything too crazy. All in all, Branch was having the time of his life because not only did he find a new early morning activity, but he made a new friend that he would cherish for the rest of his life.
