Chapter 14

Hecate transported everyone to the spot the necklace landed on. It was in the forest. Mildred was looking around while the others were getting there. As she was turning back to the rest of the group, she had noticed a light. Going over to Hecate, she said, "I think I've found something." Hecate grabbed everyone else's attention and told them that Mildred had found something.

Everyone ventured over to where Mildred was standing, and they all saw the same light. They crept forward to get a better look and noticed the light coming from a little cottage hidden deep in the forest.

"This has to be where Agatha and Miss Gullet are hiding," said Mildred. "So what do we do now?" asked Hecate. Mildred was thinking while looking at the cottage. "Okay, this is what we're going to do. Hecate and I will go up to the window and see if they are in there. If they are, I'll put a spell on the house, so they can't get out until we figure out what to do next," said Mildred.

Hecate and Mildred made their way over to the cottage. Mildred looked through a little window around the side of the cottage and saw that Agatha was sitting at the table with a lot of books spread all over the place in front of her.

Miss Gullet was sitting on the floor with the same thing: books spread about around her. "What do you think they are doing?" Asked Mildred. "I think they are trying to find a way to win, to defeat the academy and us," replied Hecate. "Okay, well, they are both inside the house now we do the spell," said Mildred.

Mildred and Hecate walked back to the cottage's front and stood back so that Mildred could say the spell.

Trapping spell

Chant

Freedom lost

Must be unwitting

In this house

You'll do my bidding

To leave this cottage

Will be unforgiving

Once Mildred had finished the chant, they saw a yellow goldish shield wrap around the house, then it disappeared. Hecate and Mildred walked back over to the others. "The trapping spell is done." Said Mildred. "So, what's next?" Asked Ada, "Now, we need to devise a plan on how to defeat them." Said Hecate.

They all sat down on the ground in a circle to come up with a plan. "What if we lure them out?" Asked the Great Wizard, "But how will we get them to come outside?" asked a Council member. Everyone went silent, trying to think of a way to get them outside. "Bait!" said Mildred. "What?" asked Hecate and Ada at the same time.

"We use bait to get them outside. Now, what is it that they really want?" Replied Mildred with a smirk. "You!" The Great Wizard and Hecate said. "Exactly!" exclaimed Mildred. "NO! You can't, Mildred. I will not allow you to do that!" said Hecate. "It's the only way Hecate," replied Mildred. "I will get her outside, and everyone else stays here. You will be the element of surprise. If I go, she will think I came on my own. When I give the signal, that's when you guys will emerge from the bushes."

Hecate hung her head in defeat, as she knew Mildred was right. It was the only plan they had, so they had to do it right the first time. "Okay, what's the signal?" asked Hecate. "I'll cross my fingers, I'll make sure I have my back to you at all times, and when you see my fingers cross, jump out."

Mildred went back to the cottage and removed the spell. She turned back to look at Hecate and gave a small smile of reassurance, then took a deep breath and released it. "AGATHA!" yelled Mildred. "I'm out here Agatha, I'm what you want, so let's finish this once and for all!" said Mildred in a taunting matter.

The door creaked open, and Miss Gullet stuck her head out. "Agatha is not here, Mildred." squeaked Miss Gullet. "Don't lie to me, Miss Gullet. I thought you knew better than that? I saw her sitting at the table, not even ten minutes ago. I know she hasn't left because I've been watching." Miss Gullet gulped and went back inside, coming out five minutes later with Agatha, looking scared and sorry for herself.

Once Agatha had seen that Mildred came alone, she straightened up and grew a smirk on her face.

"It was very silly of you to come alone, Mildred!" sneered Agatha. "I just came to ask a question," said Mildred. "And what might that be, Miss Hubble?" asked Agatha with a frown. She was confused as to why Mildred wanted to ask a question. "Why? Why are you doing all of this?" asked Mildred.

Agatha just laughed and said, "I don't need to tell you anything, Mildred, but I will say one thing, I'm doing this because I hate you!" seethed Agatha. Mildred took a step back due to the shock of what she just learned.

She didn't understand. What had she done for Agatha to hate her? "Why? What have I done to make you hate me?" asked Mildred, " I don't know, I just hate you!" replied Agatha.

This made Mildred mad. She did a spell to turn Miss Gullet into stone. They were here for Agatha mainly. She crossed her fingers behind her back, and Hecate and the rest stepped out from behind the bushes and trees. This caught Agatha off guard as she gasped and took a step back.

She went running but stopped when she noticed that Miss Gullet was a solid statue. She spun around fast towards Mildred and Screeched, "You tricked me!" "How did I trick you?" asked Mildred, smirking. "You came with a back-up when I thought you were alone!" sneered Agatha. "If I recall, she didn't say she was alone, and you never asked," stated Ada.

Agatha's jaw dropped to the ground when she realized that her twin sister was against her.

"Ada, how could you?" asked Agatha, "No, Agatha, the question is, how could you?" replied Ada with an emphasis on 'you. " Why, are you trying to hurt a little girl?" Ada shouted at Agatha. "Because she has taken what's rightfully mine!" yelled Agatha. "What have I taken of yours?" asked Mildred, who was just watching the show go on between the sisters.

Preparing the spell she would use to take Agatha out. "You will inherit the academy when it should go to me!" shouted Agatha. "You're not telling us everything, though, are you Agatha?" stated the Great Wizard. Agatha looked down at her hands like they were the greatest thing ever. "Yes, that's everything," said Agatha.

The Great Wizard just looked at Agatha and looked deeply into her eyes, and shook his head with a smirk on his face. " Either you tell us everything, Agatha, or I'll be forced to use a truth spell on you." said The Great Wizard. Agatha looked shocked at what the Great Wizard had just said.

She knew that if she didn't tell them everything, that he was serious and would do what he said. Agatha sighed. "Fine!" said Agatha staring at the Great Wizard. "Mildred didn't just take the academy from me. She also took Hecate from me," said Agatha in defeat.

"WHAT!" screamed Mildred and Hecate. "I've loved Hecate for years now, but she never saw me that way or anyone in that way until you came along. Then the next minute, she is smiling at you, giving you all the attention that I wanted!" said Agatha. "For how long?" asked Ada. "For the last ten years or so," replied Agatha. "You can't hate me because you think I took Hecate away from you, Agatha. We are mates. It was destined that we are together.

That means that it was of yours and our control." stated Mildred. "AAHHHHHH! You could have done something Mildred, you didn't need to take her away from me!" screamed Agatha and lunged for Mildred.
