Chapter Eight - Ohu to the Rescue
"I think we're safe now" Shika announced, as they had ran for a while. Akame nodded, and the whole pack of seven dogs stopped that instant. The white Kishu was carrying the badly wounded male, and the four females were running after them. Shika had led them further away from Taishiro's territory, where no one used to live. Akame looked behind him, and carefully put down the strange male from his back. The blood from his wounds had spread and tainted Akame's white fur.
"I-I'm sorry… just kill me…" the strange male murmured, opening his eyes for the first time in a while. The four females were all confused about the situation, and could not react to it.
"We're not going to kill you. What is your name, and why are you in this condition?" Akame asked, having a better look on the wounds. The male could not get another word out of his mouth, as he closed his eyes again.
"Sir!" the female Akita shouted, as she thought the male was dying. Akame lowered his head to hear his heartbeat. It was okay.
"He will survive" the Kishu announced, lifting his head back up. He looked back at the direction they had came from, and was worried about his leader.
"I should go back. Shika, can you take care of this group? I'll come back as soon as I can" Akame asked, now looking at the familiar looking female cub.
"Of course I can. Go already!" Shika promised, nodding towards the enemy territory. Akame nodded, and took off.
She really reminds me of Gin's father.
"I won't kill you, but you'll have to promise to let everyone live in peace" Gin insisted from Taishiro, as he had walked closer to the beaten male. He was still bleeding, although it wasn't so bad anymore. He was still unable to fight back, but his spirit was high.
"Damn you… " the Husky grunted, lifting his sight to see the silvery Akita standing right in front of him.
"What are you doing, Taishiro? Aren't you supposed to be holding Gin between your jaws?"
Both Gin and Taishiro turned their heads the same second, and their reactions were rather different.
Masahiro and his group had arrived, and the first sight was enough to make Gin unable to speak.
"S-Sakura.." he murmured. Masahiro was holding the female Kishu between his jaws, and three other dogs were keeping Haru still.
"Gin! I'm so sorry.." Sakura shouted, but she was soon silenced.
"Shut up!" Masahiro ordered, obviously biting her stronger.
"Yiiik!"
"Stop it! Let her go!" Gin shouted. He soon heard a vicious laugh behind him.
"Khu hu hu… You ain't so big now.." Taishiro laughed, but he still couldn't get up.
"Soldiers, get him!" Taishiro ordered, and a big group of his subordinates attacked towards Gin. He first dodged the attacks, but noticed Masahiro's answer to this.
"Aah!" Sakura screamed, as Masahiro was tightening his grip of her neck. Gin stopped, doing some quick thinking inside his head.
"No! Take me, don't hurt her" the supreme leader of Ohu surrendered, and a pack of dogs immediately pinned him down.
"Hahaha! Take the male dogs to the hostage shack and increase the guarding! We can't afford to let them go", Taishiro smirked, as he looked at the enemy.
"And get me up!"
How awful..!
Akame had already come back, and he now saw Gin being carried to a shack nearby. Haru was also getting the same treatment, but he did not see where they carried Sakura.
Taishiro must have been beaten… How could it end this way? Those were the last thoughts of Akame, before he jumped down the tree, running back to Shika as fast as he could.
Gin, don't you die on me. We'll rescue you. We'll rescue all of you, Akame thought on his way back.
"Ungh!" Gin grunted, as he got thrown against the wall of a shack. This was different from the one they had been in earlier, this one actually had a roof. Gin got company, as Haru was also thrown to the same shack. Gin did not look at him, as he was checking every corner of the shack, if there would be something they could use at some point.
"Gin…"
"Be quiet! I don't want to hear your explanations" Gin shouted, as he truly was angry at the male. He trusted him, and got the worst response.
"I'm so sorry. I was ordered to another mission, and…"
"Another mission? You said there is nothing more important than guarding the females. What could possibly change your mind?" the leader yelled with his low, powerful voice. Haru actually got very submissive, as he knew he had done wrong.
"Nothing. This is all my fault. Sakura ran off on my shift, there's nothing I could do to compensate this" Haru answered, putting his head down. Gin took a last look at the other Akita, until he turned his head the other way. For a while it was very silent. Gin was making plans, and he had no interest in Haru's businesses.
"Gin" he suddenly heard a voice behind him. It was now closer than earlier. The silvery Akita turned his head, and saw the brown dog standing right in front of him. He was a bit smaller than Gin, and his mood made him look even smaller.
"Kill me. Just do it, that's what you want" Haru swallowed and put his head down. Gin was surprised, but he did not get astonished by this. He was not sure what he was feeling, in the middle of all this.
"Kill you? Why?"
"Where are they?! Sakura? Haru?" Smith shouted, running around the Gajou. Tesshin and George were looking from inside it, but this had been going on for at least an hour.
"They are not here" Tesshin said with a disappointed tone in his voice. Cross and Ben were also outside, as everyone had gotten up after hearing about what had happened.
"What if Haru has snatched Sakura?" Smith asked all terrified, and this got the whole group on their toes.
"That is possible" Tesshin admitted and put his head down.
"But he was accepted by Gin. I don't believe he would deceive us" Ben told, lowering his head.
"We must go! Wherever they are, they indeed aren't safe" George shouted, as he got into the conversation.
"What are you talking about?" Shigure shouted, as he got closer to the group. He had just gotten back from the woods and was the last to enter the conversation. All 15 dogs were now gathered round.
"Shigure! We have lost Sakura and Haru, have you seen them?" Shouji shouted at his brother, who got surprised by the question.
"Yes, I have. Haru ran to the woods long time ago, he said he was going to get some food for Sakura. But I did not see her" Shigure explained, as he arrived to the group. Tesshin gave an eye contact to John, who nodded and licked his muzzle.
"We must go to Yamagata!" Tesshin shouted, and turned his head towards Ben.
"Since the supreme leader let me in charge, I'll give the orders" he continued.
"Ben, Cross, Moss, Kurotora, you'll be in charge of the Gajou the time we're gone. I'll leave Nobutora and Harutora with you. I don't think anything will happen, but we must not leave it unguarded." Ben nodded, and Moss licked his muzzle with a wide smile.
"I could handle a bigger task, but this will have to do" he laughed.
"The rest will leave with me. We're departing this instant. Is everyone okay with this?"
"Yes!"
"Then let's go!"
