Chapter 7: Double Date.
Its been two days since the events that took place in Chiba. Today Ryuko and Mako are in the computer lab because Mako wanted to know more about the Osaka Tenjin Matsuri festival. As for Reggie and Arek, they're at the nudist beach HQ cellular wing. Where Beta is being held. Now in the interogation room.
Rinne High, 11:30am
Mako: Look see? Let's go!
Ryuko: I dunno Mako I've never done one before, I think imma sit this one out.
Mako: Aww but Ryuko, it'll be so much fun! Hmmm... I know! We should go on a double date for the festival!
Ryuko: A double date?
Mako: Yeah! You, me, Reggie, and Gamagori!
Ryuko's face lightly blushes.
Senketsu: That does sound like a good idea.
Ryuko: You too senketsu?
Senketsu: Why not Ryuko? The four of you get to bond together at the festival. Just take it easy on the sweets. We wanna keep you fit as a fiddle.
Ryuko: I told you! Stop measuring my BMI!
Senketsu: Hmph I don't think so.
Ryuko: I swear if you don't back off, I'll use you to clean Reggies car.
Mako: Hey, are you fighting with Senketsu again?
Ryuko: Huh?
Mako: I was just wondering. Anyway we should go and get ready for tonight! I'll call Gamagori and you can call Reggie about the festival.
Ryuko: Um okay.
Nudist Beach HQ, 12:00pm
Arek and Tsumugu are walking to the shooting range.
Arek: I hear your a really good shooter, but so am I. You up for a friendly contest? Who can get the most targets is the winner.
Tsumugu: Alright. I'm in. Just don't be too sore when you lose.
Arek smiles with determination.
Arek: We'll see.
The duo enter the range and aim they're weapons. Meanwhile in the interrogation room, Aikuro, Reggie are sitting near the table talking.
Aikuro: I see so that's your mission. And if thats really the case I'm glad that we've joined forces.
Reggie: Me too. You guys were a great help on slowing down Beta. With the enhancements he has, he's almost too dangerous to be left alive.
Aikuro: Enhancements?
Reggie: Not only is he an artifical human, but a dangerous source of rage: He has the ability to.. change when he fights.
Aikuro: Meaning?
Reggie: The longer you fight him, the stronger he grows in battle.
Aikuro: What?
Reggies phone rings. Ryuko is calling.
Reggie: It's Ryuko. I'm sorry I have to take this.
Reggie answers the phone.
Reggie: Ryuko?
Ryuko: Hey Rege, What you doing?
Reggie: I'm talking to your teacher about Beta.
Ryuko: Hm how has that been going?
Reggie: Still nothing. He won't eat, sleep. He hasn't even asked to be ecorted to the bathroom.
Ryuko: Jesus, he's not giving up. Any ideas why?
Reggie: I dunno.
Ryuko: ... So umm theres this festival-
Reggie: The one in Osaka? Yeah, do you wanna go?
Ryuko: Um, I was just about to ask if you wanted to come with me, and Mako, and Ira?
Reggie: Mako and Ira huh? A double date?
Ryuko: Yeah it's kinda extra but Mako really wants to go so..
Reggie: Okay sounds like a plan. When are we leaving?
Ryuko: Cool! How's 6 o'clock?
Reggie: I'll be there.
Ryuko: Nice. See you then.
Reggie: Cool. See you soon hot stuff.
Ryuko: Yeah yeah.
Ryuko and Reggie both hangup.
Aikuro: You two are quite the item.
Reggie: Yeah she's the best.
Aikuro: You guys are like a grade A power couple.
Reggie: You think so?
Aikuro: Yep.
Reggie: Wow. Thank you Mr. Mikisugi.
Aikuro: Don't mention it.
Reggie: Well. I guess I'd better get ready for tonight.
Reggie grabs some food from a nearby fridge.
Aikuro: Didn't want takeout?
Reggie: I'm gonna give some leftovers to our prisoner. ( Even if he won't eat)
Aikuro: Okay, have a good one kid.
Reggie: You too.
Reggie leaves the conference room and makes his way down the hall to cell where Beta is held. Meanwhile Aikuro leaves to the security survelliance room to see if Reggie can make Beta talk. As Reggie approaches the cell and greets Beta, Aikuro calls Satsuki.
Aikuro: Hey you may wanna come and have a look at this... It's Reggie, he's bringing food to his bounty... Okay see you in a minute.
Aikuro watches the camera of Reggie and Beta.
Reggie: Hey. Brought you something.
Beta slowly turns to see what Reggie has and continues to stare. He hasn't eaten in days and resembles a caveman with black nails.
Reggie: ... Why are you staying quiet? You know it won't do you any good.
Beta: It is the path I've chosen.
Reggie sits on the floor across the cell.
Reggie: I wouldn't call starving a comforting path.
Beta: Sigh What do you want Reggie?
Reggie: You know a lot about our government, our leader-
Beta: I know you want to kill Abaddon.
Reggie: ... Do you know why?
Beta: You suspect him of killing your father yes?
Reggie droops his head down covering his eyes. Aikuro stands up from his chair.
Reggie: Its possible. But I wanna know...
Beta gives Reggie his full attention and Reggie raises his head at Beta.
Beta: ?
Reggie: Was it you?
Beta: ...
Reggie: Did you do it?
Beta: ...
Reggie: ...
Beta: ...
Reggie: ...
Beta: ...
Reggie: ANSWER ME BETA!
Beta: My name is Senji.
Reggie: So, we're naming you now. Did or didn't you kill him?
Beta: Kill who?
Reggie: My father Beta! Now did you kill him?
Beta: I said my name is Senji!
Reggie: Sigh Fine Senji. Did you or didn't you kill my father?
Senji: ...no I didn't
Reggie: ...
Reggie stands up and slides the food tray under the cell bars to Senji's knees.
Senji: Tch.
Reggie: You can eat or die at this point. The choice is yours jackass.
Reggie starts to walk away but suddenly..
Senji: Don't you want to know more
Reggie stops and turns to face Senji as they stand face to face with the cell bars in between them. Aikuro is still watching
Aikuro: What could he know?
Someone knocks on Aikuro's door. Once it opened Houka Inamuta Appeared.
Houka's theme plays.
Houka: Hello Aikuro, how goes bird watching?
Aikuro: Wait did Satsuki send you?
Houka: Yes and I also wanted to gather more data on Reggie and his culprit.
Aikuro: Well luckily for you some hot tea is about to get spilled.
Houka and Aikuro both watch the security cams. Meanwhile back at the cellular.
Senji: Reggie, the role you and Matoi have might be much greater than you'll soon realize.
Reggie: What?
Senji: Listen, Matoi is part Lifefiber. Half human, half alien.
Reggie: So what?
Senji: I wonder, about you Reggie.
Reggie: What are you talking about?
Senji: Back in Mykonos. When I was training. I heard things. About a certain someone. That they've been given scientific enhancements... for a reason.
Aikuro: What the hell could that mean?
Houka: Shhh listen.
Aikuro and Houka continue watching.
Mankanshoku's House, 2:00pm
Ryuko is pacing thinking of what to wear for the double date and Mako is watching her.
Ryuko: Hmmm...
Mako: Oh. What about one of moms dresses?
Ryuko: I couldn't ask her of that.
Senketsu: Perhaps Satsuki can help.
Ryuko: Satsuki?
Mako: Wow you wearing clothes like Satsuki?
Mako is imagining Ryuko in a business attire with a buttoned down blouse and skirt with black heels
Ryuko: I wouldn't wear something like that Mako.
Mako snaps out of her daydream.
Mako: How'd you know what I was thinking?
Senketsu: I stand corrected Ryuko, Your telepathic!
Ryuko: And I'm still, not too thrilled about that.
Ryuko pulls out her cell phone and calls Satsuki.
Satsuki: This is Satsuki.
Ryuko: Hey sis, um I need your help with something.
Satsuki: What is it?
Nudist Beach HQ, 3:00pm
Aikuro and Houka are in shock watching from the security survelliance room. Reggie and Senji continue to talk.
Reggie: Is that all you heard?
Senji: I know there's more to the lifefibers than meets the eye as well.
Houka: What?!
Aikuro: Ahem..
Houka: Right, sorry.
Aikuro and Houka resume watching.
Senji: Just like us people. We have our legends, our religions, our gods...
Reggie: What does that have to do with the lifefibers?
Senji smiles with his eyes covered.
Senji: There is a legend, that Lifefibers too had gods to worship.
Reggie: ?!
Aikuro and Houka drop their jaws to what they just heard.
Aikuro: The Lifefibers-
Houka: Worshipped a god of their own?
Aikuro: I thought alien parasites couldn't have that kind of belief.
Houka: Me neither. Wait there's more!
Senji: A powerful entity created Life fibers... So the legends say, a resilient and intelligent species entered earth over 20 years ago... And made contact with a woman.
Reggie: A women?
Aikuro: Ragyo made contact with the lifefibers over 20 years ago...
Reggie: What happened to her?
Senji: Can't say for sure. All I know is that it happen right after the primordial lifefiber was awakened.
Reggie: Where?
Senji: I don't know, But one thing I can guarantee. There's something coming and its much bigger than what Japan went through, just remember its connected to the lifefibers.
Aikuro, and Houka: ?!
Houka: Could this have something to do with Lady Satsuki's nightmare?
Senji: Well its been a real blast speaking with you, Reggie of Ithaca.
Reggie: What exactly do you mean?
A quiet beeping noise can be heard behind Senji's cell wall.
Reggie: (Oh no!)
Reggie dodges away from the cell bars in the nick of time as an explosion emerges from the wall sending the bars flying nearly hitting Reggie! Aikuro and Houka run to the cellular. But a figuare emerges from the smoke.
Blumenkranz plays
Senji: You?
Kaya Onyraku appears from the smoke and debris.
Kaya: Hey handsome, ready to go?
Aikuro and Houka help Reggie up and they both investigate the demolished cellular.
Aikuro: Dammit! He's gone!
Reggie: Shit!
Nudist Beach training range facility, 3:30pm
Tsumugu: Your not half bad kid.
Arek: Thanks! Your pretty good yourself!
Arek and Tsumugu fist bump.
Reggie, Aikuro, and Houka run to the range.
Reggie: Reks Senji's escaped!
Arek: What?
Tsumugu: Who?
Aikuro: We'll explain later. Right now we got to hurry and find where he went!
Kansai Boutique, 4:00pm
Light your heart up plays
Satsuki and Mako both pick out all sorts of outfits and dresses for Ryuko to try on.
Ryuko: Umm guys?
Mako: Look Ryuko! Try this on! Oh, and these shoes too!
Satsuki: Maybe a black satin dress?
Mako: GASP! OH MY GOD! I have the perfect outfit!
Satsuki and Mako push Ryuko into the fitting room.
Ryuko: My god theres so many clothes to try on.
Senketsu: Just take your time Ryuko.
After 20 minutes Ryuko finally comes out of the dressing room with a satin black knee length dress with spaghetti straps over her shoulders and black peep-toe heels.
Ryuko: I think this a bit much.
Senketsu: I think you look very beautiful.
Ryuko: Aww thanks Senketsu.
Mako: Whoooaaa... You look so amazing! Reggie won't know what hit him when he sees you!
Satsuki: I think she right about that.
Ryuko: Hmph. Okay then this'll do!
Mako: Alright!
Busy streets, 4:30pm
Satsuki, Ryuko, and Mako (fast asleep) are en route to the Kiryuin Manor to rendezvous with Ira and Reggie soon after.
Satsuki: I have to be honest Ryuko. I would have never guessed that you'd be with someone who's in law enforcement.
Ryuko: Me neither but he's a really nice guy and he likes me.
Satsuki: I see, and what of his friend?
Ryuko: You mean Arek? Yeah, that's his partner in crime. Why do you ask?
Satsuki: Nonon is curious.
Ryuko: Really?!
Satsuki: Yes. She seems to like him.
Ryuko: Sis, Arek might also have feelings for Nonon.
Mako wakes up!
Hallelujah!
Mako: Arek likes Jakuzure?!
Jakuzure likes Arek?!
They both like eachother?!
Mako daydreams of Arek and Nonon getting married then having four kids.
Satsuki: It would seem that way.
Ryuko: That'll be something to see.
The trio continue driving further down the road.
Nudist Beach security room, 4:40pm
Aikuro, Houka, Tsumugu, and Arek are speaking with Reggie about what taken place at the cellular.
Reggie: Hey this is a first for me too.
Houka: Still I would never had thought that the lifefibers praised and worshipped a god!
Aikuro: Yeah, that's pretty mind boggling.
Arek: There were whispers but I thought it was ridiculous.
Tsumugu: So what do we do now?
Houka: I should inform lady Satsuki of the matter.
Aikuro: Hey Reggie, didn't say something about going out with Ryuko tonight?
Reggie checks the time on his phone.
Reggie: Oh crap! I forgot to get ready! I'll catch up with you guys later!
Arek: Hey! You better wear some protection!
Reggie: Huh?! Ahehe yeah I gotchu...
Reggie fist bumps Arek before he leaves and Houka tries to contact Satsuki.
Kiryuin Manor, 5:00pm
Ryuko, Mako, and Satsuki enter the mansion. As Satsuki shuts the door her phone rings.
Satsuki: It's Houka.
Ryuko: Didn't you send him to the nudy beachers HQ?
Satsuki: That's right.
Satsuki answers the phone and speaks with Houka.
Satsuki: Yes Houka? ... Sighs
Ryuko: Hey whats up?
Satsuki: Hm? Oh it can wait.
Mako: Come on Ryuko let's get ready!
Mako grabs Ryuko by the hand and drags her to one of the bathrooms to change.
Ryuko: Wow take it easy Mako.
Mako shuts the bathroom door.
One hour later
Reggie pulls into the drive and steps out in a black suit jacket with gold trim and black slacks with shoes to match.
Reggie: Man, this color scheme ain't half bad.
Reggie walks up to the mansion door and rings the doorbell. After ringing the bell he hears whispers coming from the other side of the door.
Few seconds later, Ira opens the door.
Ira: Good to see you're early. You pick up rather nicely. Please do come in.
Reggie: Thanks man. I wasn't sure about the suit at first but it grew on me-
Reggie drops his jaw at the sight of Ryuko in her dress, talking with Mako in her own outfit.
Reggie: Ryuko?
Ryuko looks at Reggie and her eyes dart wide open.
Ryuko: Wow, you look like a million bucks!
Reggie: Speak for yourself. You look amazing!
Ryuko: Black and gold huh?
Mako: Reggie you look awesome!
Reggie: Thanks Mako! Are you guys ready to go?
Ryuko, Mako, and Ira: Yeah!
Mako: Hey how are we gonna get there?
Ira: Mankhanshoku, I'll drive us.
Ryuko: How about you two go together and me and Reggie will take his car?
Reggie: That's not a bad idea!
Ira: Very well.
Reggie: I'll tailgate behind you Ira.
The four drove through the highway and arrive in Osaka to the festival.
Osaka Tenjin Matsuri festival, 6:30pm
Ryuko, Mako, and Reggie are amazed to see the festival.
Reggie: This is so cool! I don't even know where to begin.
Mako points to all the food trucks and vendors. Meanwhile Ryuko is in awe of the parade. The group go to eat at Harukoma Sushi. Afterwards they check out the parade and watch the fireworks fill the night sky together.
Osaka Castle Park, 8:45pm
Calm Before the Storm FFX Similarity theme.
Reggie and Mako are playing hide and seek.
Reggie: 3, 2, 1! Alright here I come!
Reggie wanders the park looking for Mako but finds Ryuko sitting on a bench near the castle.
Reggie: Didn't wanna play?
Ryuko: Hey! Yeah just chillin.
Reggie: Sounds like fun.
Ryuko: Giggles. Yeah its cool.
Reggie: Do you know where Ira went?
Ryuko: Dunno probably hiding with Mako.
Reggie: Ira hiding? That'll be a sight to see.
Ryuko and Reggie laugh a little. Then Ryuko scoots closer and leans on Reggies shoulder.
Ryuko: So um about the other night..
Reggie: Hm?
Ryuko: It was different. I've never done that before.
Reggie: Oh, uh, I'm sorry.
Ryuko: Why are you apologizing?
Reggie: If it wasn't...
Ryuko: Hm?
Reggie: Good I mean..
Ryuko kisses Reggie on the cheek.
Ryuko: I liked it actually.
Reggie: Really? Er I mean thanks. Umm.
Ryuko: Ahaha! You are so cute when your nervous.
Reggie: I-I-I'm not nervous!
Ryuko gently grips Reggies inner thighs.
Ryuko: How about now?
Reggie: You really wanna play this game?
Ryuko pushes Reggie down on the bench and straddles him.
Ryuko: I do. And the best part is that I'm already winning.
Ryuko makesout with Reggie and lightly dry humps his waist.
Reggie: I've been looking forward to this.
Ryuko: Me too.
Ryuko lightly bites Reggies neck, then kisses his lips and ends with a lick on his nose.
Reggie: You having fun?
Ryuko: Just wait till you take me home with you. We'll have lots more fun.
A few seconds later. A voice can be heard in the air
Mako: Ryuko? Reggie? Where are you guys?
Ryuko quickly hops off of Reggie while he sits back up nearly just as fast.
Ryuko: Jeez Reggie would you stop being so handsome we're in public!
Reggie: Its not my fault!
Mako: Oh there you guys are.
Ryuko: Yeah whats up Mako?
Mako: I just got a text from mom. Me and Gamagori are gonna head out.
Ryuko: Oh.. Okay we'll meet you guys at the parking lot.
Mako: Okay see you in a bit!
Mako walks away and meets with Ira.
Reggie stands up from the bench and helps Ryuko up.
Reggie: Ready to go Ryuko?
Ryuko: No...
Ryuko holds Reggie tight.
Ryuko: I wanna stay with you..
Reggie hugs Ryuko back.
Reggie: Alright.
Ryuko and Reggie arrive to the parking lot and meet Mako and Ira there.
Ira: Took you long enough to get here.
Reggie: Yeah well, we were enjoying the stroll here.
Ira rolls his eyes and gets in his car. Reggie and Ira pull out there spots and make their way to the highway.
Mankhanshoku Home, 9:30pm
Ryuko and the gang arrive to the drive way. Mako and Ira exit their vehicle but Ryuko...
Ryuko: Hey I'll be home in a bit Mako.
Mako: Okay!
Ira: You two be careful. Avoid strangers and bums.
Reggie and Ryuko: Got it dad.
Reggie smiles at Ryuko and she blushes and looks away.
Reggie: I'm ready whenever you are.
Ryuko: I'm all set.
Reggie and Ryuko drive off to Reggies condo.
Reggies Condo, 9:45pm
Reggie drives to his parking spot and get ready to leave the car.
Ryuko: Hey wait a minute.
Reggie: What is it?
Ryuko climbs onto Reggie from the passenger seat and kisses him with her hands on his chest.
Reggie: Someones gettin on their wild side huh?.
Ryuko: Guess we'll find out in a sec won't we?
Reggie: It appears so.
Ryuko and Reggie make their way to the condo.
Departure, BACK-ON
