The Sorcerer's Fire Child - Part 8

Chapter 7

After the service, Blaise spent alot of time with his Papa learning on out to control his powers and how to not let it control him, while Calista was off playing with Royal Twins until dinner time.

"I can't do it, it's too hard!"

Blaise whines as he tries to force his fire powers to light a simple candle on command, he might be able to do little flickers of flames to entertain or burn pieces of paper whenever, it was an entirely different case, when he had to force the flame to work for him and instead of just at random.

Cedric sorting through his books trying to find some potion or another the King had requested at point, when he turned to talk to his son.

"Oh stop be dramatic, it takes time to learn something new, just keep trying until you can do it without thinking and also, I don't expect you to master it in a day or week or month or even a year, it can take years to master even the most simplest forms of magic or abilities."

"Like learning how to play music or to cook?

"Yes, and don't be discouraged if someone gets it on the first try and you don't that just means that you will be able surprise other with your talents once you have mastered them flawlessly and it's more fun that way too."

Blaise smiles alittle, before turning back to his unlit candle and with deep breaths and with some strong will power, he pulls the a string of the flames magic and keeps pulling until he channels it fully through his hand and lights the candle.

"I did it!" Blaise jumps for joy as he finally figured out to get his powers to work for him.

Cedric smiles at his son's success and decided that was enough for today and said...

"Want to play some checkers and maybe get some ice cream for the Kitchens as way to celebrate your success."

"Yes, please!"

The redhead was off like a shot, while Cedric follows a much slower pace, chuckling alittle at his son's antics and was happy to see a smile on his face once more.

Once they consume their weight in ice cream and play a few rounds of checkers, father and son both found themselves on the couch with Blaise laying his head on his father's lap, while the older man ran his fingers through the red locks and reading a potions book out loud, which always made Blaise sleepy and so he falls into a light snooze.

"Blaise?"

He felt a small poke to his face, which he slapped away before turning away from the intrusion and then he felt someone crawl ontop of him and he smiles when he knew the only person that would do that.

When Calista was securely on top of him he wakes up and starts tickling her, making her laugh and beg for mercy until her face was flushed and smiling.

"How's my favorite little Red sorcererness doing?"

"Good! Can we play now?"

Blaise smiles and follows as the girl drags him up to her room to play tea party and even wears the tiara and skirt she gave him without complain.

Cedric was laughing his head off when he saw what they were doing and what his son was wearing.

"It's not that funny, Papa."

Blaise deadpanned as he continues to sip tea out of the mini cups.

"Your right it's not funny, it's hilarious!"
Cedric was laughing so hard that tears streamed down his face and when he could laugh anymore he sighs in contentment as he smiles down at his children.

"You two are the light of my life."
