Kirlia's Story

Author's Note: I live! Sorry for no new chapters. I've been busy. This chapter will be my first Interlude. There will be several of these. They're chapters that either don't actually happen in Undertale, or are too short to be an actual chapter. The first Interlude will be about how Kirlia fell underground. Hope you enjoy!

Yellow and Chuchu stepped out of the house, and onto the snow. They noticed Kirlia playing in the snow by herself. They walked up to her.

"Hey Kirlia." Yellow said. "What are you up to?"

The Emotion Pokemon looked up. "Oh, hi there human. I'm just playing in the snow. How was your date with Papyrus?"

Yellow smiled. "It was really fun. Thanks for asking."

Yellow then sat down. "Hey, how come there aren't any other Pokemon down here?"

Kirlia shrugged. "I dunno." She said. "I guess no one ever climbed the mountain."

"Well why did you climb the mountain?" Yellow asked.

Kirlia scratched the back of her head. "I honestly don't remember. I seemed to have gained a bit of amnesia after I fell down. But if you want, I can tell you how I met Sans and Papyrus."

"Sure." Yellow said. "I'd like to know."

"Ok, let's see." Kirlia began. "It all started years ago, before the Anti-Human Policy was made. I was a Ralts back then, and I didn't know Telepathy, my ability, yet. It started right after I fell underground…"

Ralts looked up. Her head hurt. She was unsure of where she was. She stood up, maintained her balance, took a look at her surroundings, and started to walk forward.

"Thankfully I wasn't alone, as there were other people here." Kirlia explained. "I tried asking them for help, but all I could say was 'Ralts Ralts Ralts'. They clearly couldn't understand me."

Ralts made it to a large door, and after a while of trying, she finally managed to get it open. It was freezing.

"I eventually made it to civilization." Kirlia continued. "At that point, I was freezing exhausted, and starving. I finally collapsed in front of a large house, and passed out. I'll never forget the last thing I heard before passing out."

The door to the house that Ralts passed out in front of opened, and someone came out.

"Hey, are you ok?" The mysterious voice asked. "...come quick!"

The person called for someone, but Ralts couldn't hear the name.

Ralts woke up at least a few hours later. She looked at her surroundings. This time, she was in a house, presumably the one she passed out in front of. She was on a couch, covered in a blanket. Ralts tried calling out.

A door upstairs opened, and a young boy walked out. Except it wasn't a young boy. It was a young skeleton. He looked down at Ralts.

"Oh! You're awake!" He said. "Sans! They're awake!"

Another door opened and another skeleton stepped out. This one looked older than the other. They both went downstairs.

"Heya. You feeling better?" The older skeleton, Sans, asked.

Ralts nodded.

"That's good. The name's Sans. Sans the skeleton. This here is my bro Papyrus. He was the one that found you."

Ralts looked over at the younger skeleton, who gave you a hot chocolate.

"What's your name?" He asked.

"Ralts." Ralts replied in her normal language.

"Ralts, huh?" Sans said. "You seemed to be lost. Tomorrow we'll take you to King Asgore. He'll probably know where you're from. For now, get some rest, ok?"

Ralts nodded.

"Great. See ya tomorrow." Sans replied.

"The next day," Kirlia continued "Sans and Papyrus took me to the King's castle on the other side of the underground."

Sans and Papyrus stopped at a house.

"This is where King Asgore and his family live." Papyrus explained.

Sans knocked on the door, and a small goat boy answered.

"Sans! Papyrus! Howdy!" He greeted them.

"Heya Az." Sans said. Are your parents home?"

"Yeah, they're in the garden." The young goat replied. "I'll take you to them."

The skeletons and Ralts followed him downstairs.

"That's Asriel, prince of the underground." Papyrus whispered.

Eventually, they entered the garden. Asriel ran up to his parents.

"Mom! Dad! Sans and Papyrus want to talk to you!"

The king and queen turned around.

"Howdy." Asgore said. "What brings you boys here?"

"We found this monster passed out in front of our house yesterday." Sans explained, showing Ralts. "Since you're the king, we thought you'd know where they came from."

Asgore bent down and looked at Ralts.

"Hmm. It doesn't look like a monster I've ever seen." He said.

"That's because it's not a monster." Came a voice.

Sans and Papyrus turned around to see a human standing in the doorway.

"Ah, Sans, Papyrus this is Chara. She came to us a few weeks ago. Chara, this is Sans and Papyrus." Asgore introduced.

"Greetings." Chara said, sticking out her hand. Sans and Papyrus shook it.

"So if it's not a monster," Papyrus said. "Then what is it?"

"It's a Pokemon." Chara replied. "They're only found on the Surface. This one is called Ralts."

"We already knew that." Sans said.

"Can we keep it Sans?" Papyrus asked. "Please?"

"I think we should know more about it first." Sans replied.

"I can help you with that." Chara said.

She then went on to explain what Pokemon were, the types of moves they use, their abilities, how they evolve, and how their names change when they evolve.

"Make sure you take notes on what you learn about Ralts." Chara added.

She then took out a light blue stone and handed it to Sans.

"This is a Dawn Stone." She explained. "Give it to Ralts when it evolves. It'll help determine its gender. If it evolves then it's a male. If nothing happens, then it's a female, or the stone's a fake."

"Thanks for the info." Sans said.

"No problem." Chara replied. "Contact me if you have any questions."

"Will do." Sans replied, waving.

"They then took me home." Kirlia said. "And I became a part of their family. Their sister."

Kirla looked at Yellow, who was looking at her sketchbook.

"What are you doing?" She asked.

Yellow held up her sketchbook.

"What do you think?" She asked.

On three separate pages, Yellow drew a picture of Sans, Papyrus, and Kirla.

"They look really good." Kirlia complemented.

"Thanks." Yellow replied. "I really like to draw."

Kirlia chuckled. "I can tell."

"How did Sans and Papyrus react when they saw you use your moves?" Yellow asked. "How did you evolve? And when did you learn Telepathy?"

"Those are great questions." Kirlia responded. "Questions that I'll be happy to answer."

Sans, Papyrus, and Ralts approached their house. When Sans and Papyrus stepped inside, they saw Ralts sitting on the couch. They turned around, and Ralts was indeed not behind them.

"How did-?" Papyrus began, only to see Ralts disappear right before the skeleton brothers' eyes, then reappear in front of them.

"Looks like our little buddy can teleport." Sans said, patting Ralts on the head.

The trio were taking a ride on the Riverperson's boat. Papyrus was looking at his reflection in the water, when he suddenly lost his balance, and fell into the water.

"Papyrus!" Sans shouted running to the edge of the boat.

Ralts closed her eyes and focused. When she opened them, they were a light blue. Suddenly, Papyrus, surrounded by a light blue aura, the same light blue as Ralts' eyes, started to come up out of the water. Sans gazed at the Pokemon in amazement. Ralts tried hard to bring Papyrus out of the water and back onto the boat, but the water current was making it difficult.

Sans noticed that Ralts was struggling, so he cheered her on.

"Come on Ralts! You can do it!"

Suddenly, Ralts let out a loud cry, before becoming enveloped in a white light. She then started to change. Sans was amazed and confused at the same time.

"Is this what Chara referred to as evolution?" Sans asked himself.

The white light vanished, and Ralts looked different.

"Kirlia." She said.

"Kirla?" Sans asked

Finally, Kirlia was able to lift Papyrus onto the boat.

"You ok Paps?" Sans asked his brother.

Papyrus coughed. "Yeah, I'm ok."

"Tra la la." The Riverperson sang. "That was a nice save."

"Sans," Papyrus continued. "Ralts looks different."

"They evolved." Sans responded. "And I think their name is Kirlia now."

"Kirlia." Papyrus repeated. "I like it! Ooh! Now we can use that stone!"

Sans nodded and took out the Dawn Stone, and handed it to Kirlia.

Kirlia touched the stone, but nothing happened.

"Welp, that confirms it." Sans said. "Kirlia is a girl."

Kirlia sat on the couch reading a book. She then closed it and looked at Sans, who was sitting on the other side of the couch.

"Sans." She said.

"Heya." Sans responded.

Sans' eyes suddenly widened. He looked at Kirla, who then looked at him.

"What?" Kirlia asked.

Sans stumbled off the couch.

"Y-Y-You!" He stuttered.

Papyrus opened the door to his room, and stuck his head out.

"Sans what was that noise? Why are you on the floor?"

"S-She just talked!" Sans said, pointing to Kirlia.

Papyrus came downstairs.

"Really?" He asked.

"Yeah, but she didn't move her mouth." Sans replied.

"But how?" Papyrus asked.

"Telepathy, my ability." Kirlia responded.

This time, Papyrus' eyes widened.

"She did talk!" He exclaimed.

"Chara did mention Pokemon having abilities." Sans said. "I guess Telepathy is Kirlia's ability, and it lets her talk using her mind or something."

Kirlia nodded.

"We still have a lot to learn about you bud." Sans said.

"And that's the story." Kirlia said.

"Wow, great story." Yellow said, standing up.

"Where are you heading to now?" Kirlia asked.

"I'm headed to Waterfall." Yellow replied.

"I think Sans is there right now." Kirlia said. "Do you mind if I come with you?"

"Not at all." Yellow said. "Let's go!"

Author's Note: The Snowdin arc is just about finished. Just one more chapter left in it. Some disclaimers about this chapter if you were confused: The flashbacks take place over several years. The reason that Sans and Papyrus weren't speaking in uppercase and lowercase respectively was because the story took place in the past, and I don't know how they spoke back then. The story originally was a little different, due to another character originally being there. I can't tell you why they were taken out, because that'll spoil too much. The next chapter will come out sometime in the future.
