A Possible Reunion
Chapter 8: Happy Ending
Previously
"You okay, Hon?..."Kim asked after the blast.
"I'm fine..."Ron said as he helped her up.
Once up, they looked to see Professor Dementor trying to get up.
"Blast!..."He grumbled as he tried to escape but Kim managed to land in front of him, blocking him from the exit.
"Going somewhere?..."Kim taunted.
Professor Dementor stepped back, only for Ron to block him and get into a fighting stance. The mad scientist looked to his female foe and her monkey kung fu wielding husband, who has apparently, not playing around this time.
Dementor hated defeat but with his henchmen down and his weapons destroyed, the mad scientist realized that he was out matched.
"Not again..."He groaned as he raised his arms in defeat.
Kim smirked as she quickly placed her GJ handcuffs on him.
"You never learn, do you?..."She said, happy that the danger is over and the day is saved.
"Man, girl! I see you haven't changed a bit..."A loud, familiar voice was heard.
Kim turned around and gasped in happiness.
"MONIQUE!..."She exclaimed.
Kim was stunned for a moment at the sight of her old friend.
Now 28, same height as her, dressed in a very trendy red and white dress with matching heels and her hair was styled in curly waves with some highlights but it is her.
Monique.
Kim was stunned for only a moment, before she squealed and embraced the other woman in a tight hug. Monique squealed too and hugged her back.
"Oh, I missed you..."Monique exclaimed.
"I missed you too. I was almost afraid you weren't going to show..."Kim said.
"Girl, please. Like I would miss this..."Monique said.
"So, what happened? I call but got no answer..."Kim said and Monique groaned.
"Sorry girl, but I have just been swapped with work for my new fall line. You will not believe what I have been through this week. I literally managed to finish up my workload today about half an hour and rushed over..."Monique explained.
Kim could believe it.
When it comes to fashion, Monique is a workaholic and doesn't stop until she is satisfied. Kim was just glad that she made it.
"I literally arrived about five minutes ago to see you guys taking down Dementor, looks like it was one heck of a night..."Monique commented with a smirk.
"You have no idea..."Kim said with a smirk.
That is when Ron approached.
"Hey, Monique..."The man greeted.
"Hey Ron, it's been a while..."Monique said as she gave a hug to her old friend.
The three old friends began talking to each other, happy to see each other. Until Monique noticed something.
"So, where is little Donna? Last time I saw her, she was just learning to talk..."Monique said as she looked around.
"Oh, Mr. B is watching her..."Ron answered.
Monique looked stunned and Kim crossed her arms.
"And why did you leave our daughter with him?..." The wifie asked.
"Hey, someone needed to help you with Dementor, plus Mr. B has experience with kids..."Ron said.
Before Monique could ask, they heard sirens, no doubt the police had arrived to collect Professor Dementor, who was still handcuffed and defeated.
"First things first..."Kim said as she gestured to the super villain, who frowned.
"Oh, joy..."He said sarcastically, hating this more and more.
Outside
The police soon collected Professor Dementor and soon hauled him off to prison.
Yet again.
Once done, people came back to the building and Ron, Kim and Monique saw that Donna was still with Mr. Barkin, who had been in the middle of telling her some military story, that the little girl found entertaining.
"And so, me and my men had managed to successfully evade the enemy and set up camp for the night..."Mr. Barkin said, telling a more "G-rated" of his war stories.
"Cool..."Donna said.
"Donna..."Kim said as she appeared and her daughter smiled.
"Mama!..."Donna said as she ran and hugged her.
Mr. Barkin resumed his usual "tough but fair" expression.
"I see that you have managed to handle the situation..."Mr. Barkin said.
"So not the drama, Mr. Barkin..."Kim said as she tended to Donna.
"Are you okay, sweetie?..."The mother asked.
"I'm fine, Mama. So, did you win?..."Donna asked excitedly.
Kim smirked.
"Yes, I did. As always, it was no big..."Kim said and Donna cheered.
Ron noticed the kind of damage to the school and turned to his old teacher.
"Sorry about the damage, Mr. B..."Ron said apologetically.
The aging educator groaned but sighed.
"Don't worry about it, the school's insurance should cover it..."Mr. Barkin said, used to these kinds of repairs since he had these two as his students.
It's true that some things never change.
And one of them was Bonnie Rockwaller, who was always the first to complain.
"Way to go, K. Your "saving the day" ruined the reunion!..."Bonnie said with air quotes.
Kim rolled her eyes.
"First, the air quotes were old in high school and second, I never invited Dementor here..."Kim pointed out.
Before Bonnie could retort, Ron spoke up next.
"This wasn't Kim's fault. She actually stopped Dementor while you just ran and hid, like always..."Ron said, sick of Bonnie's snarky comments.
"What was that?!..."Bonnie yelled.
However, someone decided to break this up before it escalated into another fight.
It was Monique.
"Bonnie, quit it with the drama. Dementor is gone and no one got hurt. That's sounds good in my book..."The dark haired woman said to the snobby woman, who responded with a "hmpt" in response.
Monique ignored that and turned to everyone else, who came back once it was safe enough.
"Well, what are we all waiting for? It's suppose to be a reunion and I don't know about you, but I say we continue with it!..."Monique said.
"But the gym?..."Mr. Barkin said as he pointed to the amount of damage it took during the battle.
The fashion designer merely brushed it off, not seeing it as a big deal.
"Please, this is nothing compared to graduation, remember..."Monique said.
Mr. Barkin and the other former alumni heard this, considered it and nodded. Nothing can compare to graduation and they still managed to have a good time in the end.
So, why not here?
"Well, we did pay the DJ for four hours. I guess we should at least finish up..."Mr. Barkin said, after noticing that the equipment SOMEHOW didn't get trashed during the battle.
Kim and Ron heard this and smiled.
"Looks like the reunion isn't over yet..."Kim said.
"I guess not..."Ron said, not hating this.
A little later
Everyone decided to finish out the reunion outside, on the school lawn and even moved some tables there and the DJ moved his equipment outside. Everyone went back to what had been their seats and the reunion continued.
Starting with the award ceremony.
Mr. Barkin took the envelope that he previously had, before Dementor crashed the party.
"Now, before we had been so rudely interrupted, here is the award for the alumnus who has become the most successful and accomplished since graduation..."Mr. Barkin began..."The award goes to Ron Stoppable!..."He said.
All the guests had been silent upon hearing that, until one of them reacted, a certain, disbelieving brunette.
"WHAT?!..."Bonnie exclaimed in shock.
Even Kim and Ron were surprised by this development. Mr. Barkin however just continued speaking.
"For proving that the old saying that "Success is not the key to happiness. Happiness is the key to success" is indeed true..."Barkin said, actually smiling.
Ron blinked, before everyone, sans Bonnie, began cheering and applauding him.
"No way!..."Bonnie yelled but she was ignored.
"Congrats, Ron..."Monique said.
"Way to go, Daddy!..."Donna cheered for her father.
Kim smiled.
"Yeah, way to go..."She said, happy for her husband.
Ron smiled and accepted his award, still stunned by this development.
"I really don't know what to say...but BOO YAH!..."He said as he raised his fist in the air.
Everyone laughed and clapped, while Kim and Donna looked proud.
The only who was NOT happy here was Bonnie and her daughter.
"This has to be rigged!..."Bonnie said, refusing to believe that Stoppable was considered more successful than her.
Kim however, refused to let Bonnie ruin this by being her usual self.
"Oh, get over it Bonnie! Not everyone is willing to cheat to get some attention, like you did..."Kim said, referring to the time Bonnie cheated to get the title of homecoming queen and all the trouble it caused them.
She was just glad that the cheating was eventually discovered when Mr. Barkin recounted the votes and Bonnie got into a lot of trouble, that the brunette didn't even want to recall it. Sure, she might have gotten a boyfriend in Senior Senior Junior out of it...and we all know how that turned out.
Karma really does exit, it seems.
Bonnie growled at that and her daughter just imitated her.
The two haughty brunettes grumbled and "hmpt" again.
'Come on Tawnie, let's go..."Bonnie said as she took her daughter by the hand and dragged her out, no longer wanting to be here.
Kim saw this, smirked and shook her head before turning her attention back to her husband in his moment of glory.
Later
The reunion continued and Monique and Kim practically spent the rest of it catching up and Monique gushing over Donna and how much she has grown. She even gave Donna a present, a one of a kind jacket for toddlers that was part of her new line that she brought for her.
While Donna didn't like dresses much, she actually loved the jacket and was overjoyed and thanked her godmother for it.
Afterwards, there was dancing and Kim and Ron were now in the middle of one, while Monique volunteered to watch Donna. They were currently dancing to the same song they played at their junior prom, the same one where they shared their first, real kiss as a couple.
"Our song..."Kim said as she rested her head on Ron's shoulder as they dance.
Ron smiled.
"Yeah, this brings back a lot of memories..."He said as he stun her around.
Kim smiled as she wrapped her arms around his shoulders and they danced closer.
"So, Mr. Stoppable, tell me...was this reunion really so bad?..."Kim asked as she whispered into his ear.
"Hmmm...had to deal with Bonnie and take down a crazed villain like the old days, but at the same time, got to see some old friends, win a sweet award, Bonnie and her mini clone left and I got the spend the night with my two favorite ladies..."Ron considered, before he smiled.
"You were right Kim, tonight was awesome...just like back in high school..."Ron said.
Kim smiled as she lifted her head and looked him in the eye.
"True...and there is something else from the old days that we have yet to do..."Kim said
"What?..."Ron asked.
"I'll give you a hint...remember what happen during our first slow dance at the prom?..."Kim whispered.
Ron heard this and smiled.
The husband and wife soon shared a kiss together as they danced to their song, feeling happy.
And why wouldn't they?
They were young, healthy, happily married, with a beautiful daughter, great friends and a bright, happy, successful future ahead of them.
Yeah, some things never change, and in this case, it's a good thing.
