7: Don't Bother Her Now

~FLASHBACK~

December 15, 1993.

Once again, Viola and her father were visiting California for yet another business trip. This was Viola's Christmas vacation while on school break from her school. Though she was retuning back to school January third, she would only be in California from December fifteenth to December twenty-first. As much as her parents argued, they did want to do Christmas together with their only child.

Reggie waited by the hotel after band practice. He skipped out on going to see a movie with Bobby. Seeing Jurassic Park for the hundredth time in a row since the movie was released. The guys have all seen it at least that many times. Luke went straight home and Alex went to hangout with another friend before going home around the time his parents went to bed.

Load and behold Reggie spotted his girlfriend. She came out of the front doors and looked around for a minute before spotting Reggie and jumped with joy! She ran in her boots as fast as she could to Reggie. He jumped from the bench he sat on and held his arms out, running to her as well. In seconds the girl in the black slip dress worn over her white T-shirt had jumped up just as Reggie's arms wrapped around her waist and she rounded her legs around his waist as best as possible. Reggie twirled them around, both his red flannel and her blue flannel tied around their waists twirling like a merry-go-round. They leaned in and kissed. What felt like a kiss that lasted forever but neither wanted to break until they absolutely needed oxygen. "Hi beautiful." Lip peck. "Happy birthday."

"Hi handsome," She rubbed the back of his neck. "I can't stay outside too long. Since we started dating, my Dad is all over me."

"Not before?"

"Not one bit. He always figured that I was with Holly." She booped his nose. "He's got nothing to worry about."

He nodded against her. God, he missed her. "So no movies I guess."

"What'd you have in mind?"

"Well either a new one or one that is still out in theaters." Before Reggie could suggest a film, Viola had read his mind.

"Mrs. Doubtfire!"

"Hell yes!" He cheered. "Friday night okay? I can get a ticket from Bobby. Guy is great at hooking up movie tickets," Reggie sat her back on the ground. Viola nodded but Reggie knew her face. "What's with the face, Vi?"

She made it again. "You know...I have a feeling that that Bobby isn't, well, nice."

"Dude's weird but we all like him."

~PRESENT~

"Reg. Reggie!" Alex shook Reggie. Reggie woke up from the memory he was feeling. Reggie shook himself to 2020. "Reggie, this is Viola? You sure?"

"Its her. Just wait." He nodded to her direction.

The woman got up from writing on a piece of paper and turned around as she tucked a piece of her hair behind her ear. The two members of Sunset Curve saw that this was, in fact, Viola. Reggie's Viola. Older, of course, but still pretty much the same as she did as a teenager. She took a few steps forward, passing through the guys, to the door and left.

"Its her alright."

"Oh my God. This is amazing Reggie." Luke cheered for him. "She's alive."

Alex nudged him. "Luke, of course she is alive. Why wouldn't she?"

"Remember that time at the skate park she tried to skateboard down on the railing?" Alex nodded as the memory came to them. She had done it on a dare and as a result she succeeded in going down the rail on a skateboard and succeeded in breaking her left arm. "Or that time you, Reggie and I went skinny dipping in her friends pool and she jumped in after us, eyes closed, and held her breath under the water for three minutes?"

"I miss that pool."

Reggie heard the guys but his focus was on Viola. The love of his, well, former life. Was here now. His heart danced quickly that it began to hurt him. Could a ghost love this hard again? "Viola." Reggie still stunned by his new discovery. "Viola!" He cheered. "Viola!"

"So he found Viola inside and that's why he is dancing around the snow?" Julie pondered aloud as she, Luke and Alex watched Reggie dance with glee.

"Yep."

"Interesting but adorable."

Reggie twirled, danced, jumped and did other ballerina-esque moves that he learned from Viola. Viola was here! She was here and he never thought he'd see her again after the last time he had heard or seen her! "I'm just too excited! It's Viola."

Julie took her phone out to make a pretend call. "Yeah, that's great you found her, Flynn."

Luke pointed to the building. "Do you wanna go check on her?"

Reggie halted his dancing. "No?" He was serious about this answer, but not serious all the way. "She's working. I mean, she's at work and I don't...Even as a ghost, I don't want to bother her at all."

Julie smiled. "Well I guess you'll find a way to check her out without bothering her. Can we go to the von Trapp's now?"
