Chapter 8

Bruce and the others began to struggle against their binds with as much force as they could, but with little luck. "Well, it's final old man!" Jason growled with anger.

"What's final? You finally decided you fucking hate my guts? Well to bad for you, you're still my son -"

Completely shocked by Bruce's automatic thought, Jason froze in his struggling to get his binds free as he stared at the man who was also doing his best to get free, though they were all sadly failing. "No, you ass hole. I'm never leaving my place as unarmed as I was tonight." He glared, pulling against his binds like the rest of them, Jason grunted and growled with aggravation, "Fuck! ATHENA! DAMN IT!"

"Hey, stop the struggling would ya! I can't cut you down if you're all flying around like fish on top of the water." A man's voice suddenly said to them. His voice startled them into blinking with utter confusion.

"Clark? Berry?" Bruce asked.

Grinning, Flash cut Bruce free, "Say it loud enough why don't you. Hurry, we have to get out of here, fast. J'onn has the others to a safe distance, Hal is waiting in the Cave as Back-up but Batwoman can't disarm all of the bombs, even if she disarms a few of them, if three blow, then the whole house goes up." Berry told Bruce cutting the rest down and rushed over to Alfred and lifted the man up. "I'll run him to a Hospital, you guys get to the Cave and get the hell out of here." Berry told them and zoomed off.

"You heard him, let's get out of here." Tim said, rushing up the stairs.

"Tim, wait! We can help Kate disarm those bombs. Jason -"

"On it, oh hey, cell service. Calling Kate now, I'll see what is disarmed and what's not." Jason interrupted Bruce with an amused grin and dialed the redhead through his earpiece, "You guys got your earpieces?"

"Yep," They each said in a collective.

Nodding, Jason rushed off and linked their earpieces together. Getting their collective directions, they rushed to their designated bombs and began the routine of disarming them. There was a collective sigh of relief when the last one was disarmed.

"Thanks' Batwoman. Clark, you did good. But we have a problem." Bruce said with a smirk, sitting back in the wet grass as the rain came down on them.

"Not a problem, Mr. Wayne." Kate said with a small grin of amusement.

"I know, Joker got away." Clark told him with a sigh, "Damian and the Titan's got out too. But Bruce, we're going to have to make it look like your house blew up. You know that right?" Clark told him.

Sighing, Bruce looked around as he thought of Athena, the look on her face, the fear in her eyes she knew she didn't have to mask as she looked at each of them hanging there, all four helpless in saving her in that moment. "Joker took her, Clark. If we create the illusion my home detonated, Athena will be left with no hope in being saved… There is no way she'll be able to escape him. But, I understand why we have to… Get J'onn here, I have to call Constantine and Zatanna, we're going to need more help in this than we may, and it can't hurt to have magical back-up." Bruce said, standing from the ground and began dialing Zatanna's phone.

"Bruce, Lantern can go after her."

"No, he'll kill them both if he feels his prize will be taken away from him." Jason said walking up to Bruce from around the house with Kate, Batwoman at the moment. "Trust me, it's why he killed me in that bombing at the warehouse Bruce. He knew you were coming, and he didn't want his victory taken from him. His car is likely wired with them both. Joker likes his bombs." He told them, a hard expression frowning his face.

He was pissed.

"Well, then what the hell do we do? Damian took the others and my pregnant wife somewhere and didn't tell any of us. Instead, he claims Athena is the only one that can find them! Why the hell did Joker take the girl anyways Bruce?!" Clark shouted with anger. He was terrified and angry. He had no idea where his wife was, no idea where Conner was, and Super Boy looked up to him like a father. Meaning Clark also had a pregnant wife and a son out there that he wasn't near and unable to protect them himself.

"If Damian thought that was a necessity then trust me, Clark, your family is safer wherever my crazy brother takes them. The kid is as paranoid as Bruce and I." Jason told the Kriptonion. "Now, can we shut the hell up and get that Illusion done so we can start looking for our girl." Jason snapped with a glare now leveling on Clark. The guy was stronger than anything he'd seen before, but Jason was not going to let the man intimidate him. The Wayne Manor had been by-passed by someone, not Joker, there was no way that idiot could have done that. No, he'd had help from someone.

Walking into the house as J'onn created the Illusion and sent a shockwave outward to create the effects of the explosion, all in a matter of minutes. His feet slammed against the stone steps of the Bat-Cave, Jason jumped onto his bike and fired it up, taking a look around the Cave he used to use as a playground. His angry expression softened at a display case off in a corner, black, sheer, curtains were opened up allowing those to see the display inside and a soft light shining inward allowing the articles of clothing.

"Jason! What are you doing?" Tim called running down after him.

Sighing, Jason grumbled as he pulled his helmet on over his head. "Gearing up so I can start looking for the bastard. This time, Bruce won't stop me from killing him. Joker's pulled his last joke on this family. Our brother is in the wind with the Titans, Clark's wife along with them, and took a girl who was trying to save us from the filth we should have already gotten rid of… I won't make the same mistake Bruce has with that Monster." Jason answered, pulling his red helmet over his head and took off down the runway.

"Tim! Go after him, don't let him out of your sight!" Dick shouted, tossing his keys to the young man.

"Right, you realize which brother you're trying to make me babysit, right Dick?" Tim asked sarcastically, but rather it was an honest question.

"Just do it!" Dick shouted, running back up the stairs.

Sighing, Tim fired up Grayson's bike and took off after his brother and best friend. 'Hopefully, he doesn't kick my ass…. Again.'

Three hours later

Athena had remained bound. The Joker had found it easier on his annoyance to gage the girl as well and toss her in the trunk as he drove them outside of Gotham City. It wasn't her crying that had bothered him, it had inevitably been her silence. If she was going to be so quiet, he wanted to give her a reason to stay quiet, by his own doing.

Pulling his vehicle to a stop, Joker stepped out of the driver's seat and opened the trunk. He frowned when he had to climb into the deep trunk after her. "Come here Goldie Locks." He grumbled. Grabbing her by an ankle. He had to say, he was rather shocked by the heel slamming into his face. The impact sent him back out the car and skidded across the cemented ground. Both his hands pressed to his face. The pain had his eyes watering, and his nose was without a doubt broken. He wasn't angry because of his nose being broken or the gushing blood from the injury, no he was pissed because she had gotten him, outsmarted him, bested him.

Grumbling as he sat up, his eyes burned and watered with tears as he tried to open his eyes to see where she could have gone, and he knew she had made a run for it, who wouldn't run after attacking the Joker when he'd kidnapped them?

He'd been so distracted by the pain and the ringing in his ears that he hadn't heard the heels of her shoes clicking against the pavement. Rounding a corner, Athena took a moment to breath. The heels were killing her feet, but she knew if she took them off then there was nothing protecting her feet from any possible foreign object that could hurt her only means of escape. That being her feet.

Deciding to keep moving, Athena went further and further between the buildings, thunder and lightning lit her way. Looking back over her shoulder, she was shocked she hadn't heard him calling for her. Was this another one of his games? A bad version of Hide and Seek turned into 'Seek and Kill'? Her eyes widened with fear and her scream muffled by the ball gag still in her mouth as she fell to her knees then to the ground as she struggled against whoever it was that had her.

"Hold her Conner." A boy grumbled.

"Shut up Jaime, that psychopath is still on the loose nearby." Conner whispered back with annoyance.

The names and young voices had her freezing in her struggle. Focusing closer on the figures holding her down and trying to see through the rain that was annoying to her while she looked up as the water hit her face. However, the blue shirt and black jacket caught her eyes making her focus harder on the clothing to realize who this was before she noticed the other in a full-on blue suit. Their outfits, or uniforms as the other's put it, had Athena slightly breathing easy, while her muscles were still fully tense she stopped fighting against them as one removed the jag. "J-Jaime? Conner?"

Grinning, Conner and Jaime smiled at one another before looking back to her, "Hey there beautiful, Damian sends his apologies for not coming himself, but he was the only way into the crazy fortress of his. Gave us this thing to find you." Conner said holding up a small hand-held device. A tracer dot on the screen.

Confused as to what the hell they were talking about as they showed her the tracker, she blinked a few times as she studied it closely. 'Yep, that's me alright. That little booger.' "But how -"

"That boy tags everyone, girl. Your little brother is crazy overprotective." Jaime answered simply as he and Conner helped her back up, "Sorry we took you down like that, but heels and struggling, don't exactly go together" He said rubbing the back of his head.

Conner smirked and shattered the cuffs, "Come on, we have to get the hell out of here, AH! What the heck?" He quickly questioned the sudden pinch and pain in his neck. Pulling a small dart from his neck Conner's vision blurred. "Well that's not good,"

"Super Boy!" Jaime screamed, his masked eyes glowing blue as Athena caught the collapsing boy.

Lightning and thunder clapped together, mixing in with a malicious laughter from behind them, "Well. Looks like I get three toys for the trip, I'm so spoiled. Now, be a good girl and a good blue boy and I'll give the Super punk the antidote?" Joker laughed with glee. "Now, come with me and he'll survive the next few nights."

"Next few nights?!" Jaime shouted with anger, ready to blow the man to nothing.

"Well, yeah, ya see if he doesn't get the second dose he dies. There are a total of six doses the kid will need. Giving me plenty of time to get Goldie Locks where I need to drop her off at. Now, do you need a bullet in the head for her to cooperate, Blue?" Joker questioned. His smile no longer present on his face.

Looking at the dart used against Conner, Athena noticed the name of the company on the side of the metal dart. It was a LexCorp product. Either Lex was suppling these to Joker or this was completely without the man's knowledge. But from everything she'd noticed, Conner loved both Lex and Clark, and neither one had let harm befall the boy since his creation or the moment Clark found out who the boy was. Clone or not. Looking down at the pain on the boy's face, Athena placed a gentle hand to his face and her body trembled with fear for him. He was burning up.

Feeling a cold hand pressing against his face, Conner forced his eyes to open. His vision was blurred but he was able to focus on the face looking down at him with worry. Coughing, Conner slowly pulled a blue tipped sharpie from his pocket and hid it in her hand, "Glasses," He whispered. "D and J." He finished in a soft whisper. His limbs felt heavy.

Confused as to what he meant by 'D and J' but did as instructed. Taking the sharpie in hand, Athena grabbed his glasses and quickly wrote down the boy's first initials and the tracker device and scouted them over to close by old, overflown and gorse trash can with her foot, pretending she was shifting her sitting position and moved Conner with her, resting him back against her chest. "Do as he says." Athena whispered to him. Her eyes wide with fear as she looked to Joker. "Please don't hurt them. Give him the antidote, please, he'd burning up." She begged Joker.

"Hmm," He started, pretending he was thinking before laughing a bit, "Fine, because you begged like a purring kitten, but it's at my Compound, we have to get there first. I have to pack for our big trip." He told her.

"Fine, fine just promise you'll give him the antidotes!" Athena begged him.

Conner began to shiver in her arms. Athena's fear for him grew as she held him to her, "Please, he's getting worse fast."

"Alright! Alright, just shut up would you." Joker grumbled, "You're starting to not be fun anymore." He said with some annoyance. His eyes drifting to the blue suited kid, Joker frowned as the hero in training glared at him. A heavy frown on his face, Joker huffed with annoyance and aimed his gun on him quickly.

BANG!

"No! Beatle? Beatle!" Athena screamed, resting Conner against the ground gently she moved beside the now fallen and wounded Jaime. His breathing leaving him in difficult breaths as he looked up to the raining sky. "Why'd you shot him!?" She screamed up at Joker. Pressing her hands into his wound. But the sudden handful of her hair being grasped and yanked on had Athena screaming and struggling against the grip at the back of her head as they began to drag her off. The person's hand now tangled in her blonde locks.

"Grab the Super punk, he's more useful than the dead beat." Joker ordered. Yanking back on her hair, he leaned into her face, his lips only a breath away from her mouth. "You asked why I shot him? I didn't like the look he gave me." Joker told her. His answer was whispered against her lips. Pulling her along with him as he stalked off, the few of his men from the rooftops jumped down and drug Conner behind them as they made their way to Joker's warehouse that was both home and base for him.

Bat-Cave

A sudden beep came from the computer. A small alarm with a 'T' as it's beacon signal. "Bruce!" Dick shouted.

Hearing his oldest shout for him, Bruce's head snapped towards the Computer screen and rushed over, "What is it?" He questioned with more a demanding tone.

"I don't know, there's a signal coming from the Abandoned Carnival Park outside of Gotham, looks like -"

"Jaime. I gave each one of the Titans a panic beacon. Each one with their own color signal in case they needed help, it's designed to come to both me and the Justice League. Jaime's is blue. I thought you said they left with Damian!" Bruce snapped, turning to Clark.

His eyes wide, Clark glanced between the screen and the blinking blue 'T' and Bruce's very angry face, "He did." Clark said simply.

"It's true Bruce, we watched them leave." Diana said.

Oliver and the others there nodded in agreement.

"It's true father, they came with us." Damian's voice suddenly sounded over the computer screen. The monitors splitting as the channel was open, "But I sent Conner and Jaime after Athena when I noticed her tracker moving away from the house. I couldn't go in their stead. Star Fire and Cyborg never even saw them leave. And I am currently in a heap of trouble with them… I had Raven use an Illusion on them so they wouldn't notice their absence for some time. Star Fire would like to speak with you." He said walking away from the monitor. While he seemed unfazed by being in trouble Bruce knew he was uncomfortable with it.

"Hello Batman." Kori said, her face told him everything, she was pissed. And understandably so.

"Star Fire,"

"We made it to the location safely, but please, bring them back safely. While I don't condone Robin's method or his plan, I understand why he did it. No one but him had access to her tracking device that he apparently put on her at the start of the night…"

"I understand, but he still endangered two of his teammates without understanding the consequences, he's lucky I even have those panic alarms for his team members otherwise we'd have never known where they were…. He's grounded… Batman out." Bruce told her, obviously irritated.

"Dick, get suited up. Everyone else -" He stopped in mid-sentence at seeing them fully changed and ready.. Blinking with slight confusion he rose a brow to J'onn.

"Yes, I did. Now we must wait on you." J'onn told him, a slight amused expression on his face.

Sighing, Bruce moved on to get Suited up. He wasn't surprised Dick had a spare suit in the Bat-Cave just in case he was needed and didn't have time to go back to his and Kori's place for his uniform. The both of them were suited up in a matter of minutes and the group headed out after Jaime's location. 'Please be alright.' Bruce begged whatever God or Deity that existed to not let harm come to the boys or Athena, but what he feared was Conner's safety. Jaime's panic beckon had been activated. But where was Conner?

"Um, Bruce? I think we have a problem." Dick said, his head snapping to look at Bruce, Batman in that moment, his eyes wide with some worry.

Seeing Nightwing's worry, Batman's face dropped with his own worry, "What is it?"

"Jason's already there… And Tim isn't with him." Dick informed them.

Sighing, Batman looked at the device to look at the signals coming from the same area, "And you know this is Jason how?"

"I sort of hacked into his bike's location tag. He installed it because he got tired of punks trying to steal his bike. And Tim took my bike, my bike's locator signal isn't even near him. Jason likely knocked him unconscious when he tried to stop him from going after Joker." Dick told his old mentor and the others. Those without motor vehicles available to them were forced to travel via Lantern's ring. Which none of them minded… Much.

Choosing not to answer him, Batman sighed and looked forward as they made their way towards the Carnival Park.

The boat set off without delay, Athena and Conner locked in a room on the 'Abandoned' Passenger Ship Joker had stolen and 'revamped' to fit his needs and desires.

Conner was currently wrapped in Athena's arms as they rested on the bed and she found herself gently rocking them back and forth with worry. They'd been put in a room on the third level and forced to wait for the antidote. Something that Joker seemed to be taking his time with as they sailed out from the bay, electricity was locked off and leaving them all basically blind. They had to get out of port and out to sea without being seen.

Al Gul Hideout in Himalayan Mountains

Raven staggered down the hall, her hands clutching her head painfully, 'Damian! Damian, talk to me! PLEASE! What's wrong!' She begged him through their telepathic connection. She felt what he felt, as long as she concentrated the illusion would stay up. But the pain, his temperature, something was wrong!

"Raven?" 'Damian' called, rushing to her while being careful of his voice volume. If any of the others found out what they'd done there was no way the League would unground them, least of all let them go on a mission for months. But it would also mean that Damian's life and that of Athena's would be more than just compromised, they'd be dead in less than a week.

"Conner, something's wrong." Raven whimpered, resting her head into his chest. His arms wrapping around her with worry as he lifted her up, "Okay, okay, okay, come one, let's get you to a room." He told her, rushing them to a room quickly and set her on the bed, "What's going on Raven?" He asked with worry.

"Damian, something is wrong with Damian." She cried.

"We should tell the others -"

"No!" She cried, "No, we can't." Raven told him, grabbing a hold of his wrist. Her stomach turned with bile, forcing her to lay down as she paled.

"Then drop the illusion Raven," He told her.

"I can't. If I do, they're both dead."

"If you sleep the illusion will fail, something is happening, and we can't save them from here." Conner told her. The illusion had worked up until now, and for once he was actually voting in ratting them out on this plan. Damian had only asked Raven to create the Illusion, Jaime had told Damian he was going with him as backup whether the kid liked it or not. They never expected this kind of thing to happen.

"No… We can't… but maybe I can." She whispered. Forcing her mind to concentrate she was absorbed by her magic, shadows swallowing her up before she vanished completely leaving Conner alone in the room looking around with terror as he called for her, shouted and begged for her to come back.

It wasn't long after that he'd caught a glimpse of himself in the mirror that he paled. Conner was no longer disguised as Damian Wayne. Meaning Damian was no longer Conner in disguise either. "Oh shit…." Now it was time to panic. Looking to the door, Conner knew he was in for a good ass beating. But at this point, he'd take an ass beating from all of the Justice League members, "KORI!"

Jason slightly shouted with shock when a dark flash came out of nowhere near him and a thud as well as a person vomiting sounded to his ears.

"Damn, that's disgusting." A girl said with clear disgust at the action. No one liked vomiting.

His brow frowning as he moved for the figure he grounded his teeth with annoyance, "Raven? What the hell are you doing here?" He scolded her.

"Trying to help Damian and Athena." She told him. But her stomach and spinning head wouldn't allow her to move just yet as she emptied her stomach once again. "Gods, make it stop, please." She begged a bit.

"Over here, I thought I heard something!" A man said walking down the stairs into the guts of the Ship.

"Hold that shit in for a bit, would ya." He told her and lifted her up into his arms and rushed through the gears and engine rows to hid them. "So, they got D too then? How." He demanded his answer to the last part.

"I created an illusion. Damian's plan was to get in and get out. Jaime came with him against Damian's irritation. Conner took on Damian's appearance and Damian -"

"Took on Conner's, great." Jason mumbled with annoyance. Go figure his baby bat-shit crazy brother would pull something like this. "And I guess this backfield since they have both him and his sister now. Just my fucking luck." He grumbled low. Holding his breath and covering Raven's mouth as a few guys walked down the row they were behind.

"Nothin's down here idiot, come on, I'm hungry." He told the other's, forcing them all to turn back around and head back up.

Sighing a breath at not being found, Jason released Raven's mouth, "Settle that stomach of yours first, then I want you to find those two, and we need to do it fast. Floor and room, if they're guarded, everything. We get in and we will get out. But you have to be working. Got it." He told her sternly.

"Fine… Jerk." Raven replied.

Raising a brow of amusement, Jason tried not to chuckle at her, "I've been called worse. For now, they're alive, until there's real activity we know Joker hasn't figured out that Damian's cover is an illusion. So that's buying us time… But not long."

Nodding, Raven took a few breaths in hopes of her stomach settling fast. It was with no such luck when she once more leaned over and vomited a few more times.

Jason sighed, rubbing the helmet area of his forehead as he rubbed her back gently while she continued to puke. "We're going to be here for a while. Just take it easy."

"Would you shut up so I can -'' But, sadly, Raven was interrupted by the bile once more. She chose at the moment to just not talk for a while.
