Chapter Seven

A few weeks ago, Amon had made the announcement that the Equalist Revolution was disbanded. He motioned to the people to peacefully protest for the rights they wanted and needed. He said to hold his work in their hearts and to strive for his goal the right way, the safer way. Then it was just Noatak and Korra time after that. They spent most of Korra's time when she wasn't training together. He went to all of the Championchip Pro Bending matches. They won the Championchips and put the Wolf Bats and Tahno to shame. Things were going great for Korra and Noatak. Then someone blew up City Hall that fateful night. Tarrlok had been inside when they blew up the building, but he managed to escape. Noatak knew he had to reveal himself to his brother. After all, Tarrlok was the only family he had left. He knew his father passed long ago, but he also knew their mother had recently passed. While Tarrlok was still in the hospital, he went in one stormy night to pay his brother a visit.

"Oh goodness, who's here to see me now? I never get left alone here." Tarrlok complained when the nurse went in and told him he had a visitor. Noatak stepped into the room and as soon as Tarrlok turned and laid eyes on him, he knew.

"Noatak?" He whispered, staring in awe at the man before him. Could it actually be his brother?

"Yes, Tarrlok. I.. I heard what happened, at City Hall. And I knew I had to speak with you." Noatak said calmly. In truth, his heart was racing. This was the most nervous Noatak had been in 25 years.

"I can't believe you're actually here. I thought you died in that snowstorm Noatak." Tarrlok said, wheeling the wheelchair he was in over to Noatak. "Wait. You were with Avatar Korra weren't you? In the papers, months ago."

"Yes. Korra and I do know each other yes." Noatak said, looking at his brother.

In short, they spent most of the night catching up and talking about what all had happened. Noatak had even told Tarrlok that he had been Amon. He didn't take it so well at first, but Noatak reminded him that he ended it before it started an all out war. Within a few months, Noatak and Tarrlok were acting just as in sync as when they were children, and Korra and Noatak's relationship couldn't be better. Their one year anniversary was coming up soon and Noatak had a wonderful evening planned for them.

It was a Friday evening in Republic City. Korra had just finished air bending training for the day. She was going to go to the arena to practice, but just as she left the Temple, Noatak came up to her.

"Oh hey Noatak!" Korra said happily. She ran up to him for a hug and kiss. He picked her up and held her close.

"Hi babe. Are you ready?" He asked, looking at her with a smile.

"Oh shoot, I almost forgot! I'm so sorry! I can go get changed and we can go!"

"Korra, it's okay, you take all the time you need." Noatak said in a loving tone. They walked over to the residential building together and Noatak sat outside on the steps while Korra ran inside. She grabbed her bathing things and headed to the bath room. She quickly bathed and shaved carefully. Once she was done, she hurried back to her room and put some rose scented lotion on. She got her formal water tribe dress out and put it on, as well as her usual arm warmers. She put her hair up in a singular ponytail and applied a bit of blue eyeshadow, mascara, and lip balm. She hurried out to where Noatak was waiting. He stood as soon as he heard her coming and when he saw her, a slight gasp escaped his lips. As she walked up to him, he scooped her into his arms and kissed her. She looked stunning and he was nervous, but so ready for what this night held.
