There was something beautiful about the way the sun rose over the city as Izuku's long trek home began to come to a close. He found himself, however, passing by UA, with his legs aching and tired he figured it would be best if he sat on one of the benches for a moment. While he would get some rest yes, this also gave the boy some time to reminisce on the night. As he thought of everything that had transpired within the last twelve hours the boy could help but cry. At first, it was a stray tear gracing his face but it exponentially grew until he could help but to lean forward and hide his face with his hands.

He sat outside UA and cried for so long that he lost track of time. It wasn't until he heard someone approach that he stopped what he was doing and whipped around as fast as he could, quickly jumping off the bench and taking a defensive stance against the unknown behind him. It turned out to be a small bear? Or a dog? Maybe even a mouse?

"Impressive reflexes young man, however, there's no need to be frightened due to little old me." said the creature.

"What do you want?" Izuku spoke, slowly gritting his teeth. The boy had already put up with enough recently.

"Straight to the point? I can respect that. I actually have something for you, that is if you're willing to accept it." the strange creature said.

"Look I don't need anything from you okay? I'm perfectly fine fending for myself." Izuku said as he began to turn from the stranger and finish his trek to his home, the one he thought he'd never see again.

A few moments passed before the creature spoke again. "So, I would be right in assuming that you weren't expecting a letter from UA?"

Izuku froze, and as he slowly began to turn around he spoke: "What do you know about that?.." He turned back around and continued to walk. "Nevermind, it doesn't matter anymore. It was just a silly dream," he said as he walked away.

As he approached his home a small smile formed on the boy's face, even though he had only lived in this place for a short time it felt more like home than any other before. As he slowly walked up the steps he could not wait to get into bed. He needed a good rest, that much he deserved or so he thought. As he began to take off his clothes and collapse into sleep he found something strange. It was in the hood of his jacket, a small metallic device that even he couldn't figure out. Eventually, after all his fumbling around he dropped it on the floor and what happened next startled him, to say the least. Light beamed out of the device and who else would appear in his hologram but the number one hero All Might.

"I am here as a projection!.. I actually came to this city to work at UA."

"Even if you passed the written exam, you earned zero points on the practical. Of course, that means that you didn't pass… if that's all there was to it. However, before I get further into that, watch this video."

Inside UA, After the practical exam

A loud pink girl, as well as a couple of others, burst into a room, instantly turning to find Present Mic. He was obviously very disturbed by the sudden interruption and dropped the stack of papers he was shuffling through.

"HEY! WHO CAN I TALK TO ABOUT GIVING SOME OF MY POINTS TO ANOTHER PERSON." the pink girl instantly shouted the second he made eye contact with her.

"Goodness gracious, please turn down the volume. Now for your call in question! … that's not a thing." he said as his smile turned to a frown.

"THAT'S NOT FAIR, HE SAVED ME, AND FRENCH FRY, AND THESE THREE AS WELL! IF I COULD I'D GIVE HIM ALL OF MINE!" The pink girl continued to yell.

All Might paused the video and resumed speaking "Your actions spurred others to act. The exam was not graded only on villain points! How can a hero course reject people who save others and do the right thing? Call that lip service? This is a job that requires risking one's life to put that lip service into practice! Rescue points! Izuku Midoriya, 68 rescue points!" Izuku stared stunned at the hologram, not moving nor speaking.

"Come, young Midoriya. This is your Hero Academia!"

A single tear escaped the boy's watery left eye as he heard those words. He had come so close to ending everything, almost forfeiting his entire future. He did not know how to feel; Happy? Like a fool? An idiot? Needless to say, he was overcome with something the boy had never felt before. It was a different comforting warmth that the boy had most closely felt after he had jumped. No matter how he was feeling now Izuku had work to do.

Before he could start that though, he needed sleep, badly.

Izuku slept from around 9 in the morning to 11 at night. Even though he slept for around fourteen hours Izuku woke up feeling exhausted, both physically and mentally. 'I guess there's no better time, I need to face him now.' Izuku thought to himself as he grabbed his old work shirt and threw on his sweater. He headed down the stairs and to the convenience store.

Izuku stood outside the store he once worked at, key in his hand, wondering why Hisao-san had not already opened up the store. As he turned the key and opened the shop he heard someone approaching from behind and so he turned around whilst hopeful calling out "Hisao-san?"

It was not Hisao-san. It was three men in suits.

"Are you perhaps Midoriya?" the man in the middle asked.

"What's this about?" Izuku asked. 'Are they detectives? Do they know I'm homeless? Are they going to take me away and stick me in that awful place again?"

"This is in regards to Hisao Hokoroti's death…" everything after that seemed to drown out. Eventually, before the men left they gave him papers and a card for the office he would need to call soon. As soon as they left Izuku dropped down to the ground, once again balling his eyes out.

Hisao-san had been killed in an armed robbery by a villain while he was gone. It was his fault. It was supposed to be his shift. It was supposed to be him instead. He walked into the store, closed and locked the door and turned off the lights. He proceeded to go into the managers' office and sit in Hisao-sans chair. He spent the next 20 minutes crying as he read through the papers. He would eventually pass out in that chair.

Izuku yawned as he woke up, taking a moment to remember where he was and what had happened. He needed to call down to that office that the lawyers gave him the card to. He still did not have a cell phone so he borrowed a burner phone from the store and called.

"Hi, thank you for calling the Matsushima, Nakahara, and Sugimoto law firm. How may I help you today?" a woman spoke.

"U-uh hi, I was calling about a will reading? For a Mr Hokoroti?" Izuku said with sadness building in his throat.

"I'm so sorry, we could fit you in later today. Say three hours from now?" the woman asked.

"Yes, that's fine. Is there anything I need to bring with me?" Izuku asked, fumbling with the phone.

"Besides yourself no," the woman laughed and then hung up after formalities.

Izuku had three hours he had to waste, if he took the train it'd only take roughly 20 minutes to get to the district the office was in. That means he would need to waste away two hours still. Izuku decided to go to the beach, he hadn't been to Dagobah in so long, hopefully, it was still clean. He passed many people on the way. Most of the happy and smiling, not aware of the deep pain of the boy who they had passed, was going through. Izuku approached the beach and saw many couples there since it was of course still clean. Izuku walked down the small pier and sat at the end of it, clutching a picture of Hisao-san.

Some time passed before the boy heard a voice from behind him call out.

"Pardon me. I believe you to be my hero." said a soft voice from behind.

Izuku slowly but surely turned around and looked up to see the tall girl he had seen at the convenience store that one fateful night.

"Oh, hey what are you doing here?" Izuku said, less than ecstatic that he now had to socialize.

"Well, I had heard the beach had been cleaned up over the past couple years so I thought I should see the beauty of it. If you don't mind me returning the question, what are you doing here?" she said, looking on as the boy stuffed a picture into his pocket.

"Uh, reminiscing? I guess you could say that's what I'm doing." He said with a light chuckle, hopefully, she couldn't see through his act. 'Technically I'm not lying. I should be on my way soon anyway.'

"I see. Do you mind me asking how well your exams went?" she asked with a quizzical look on her face.

"Oh yeah, that. Well, I ended up getting in. Class 1A I'm pretty sure." He said as he stood up and finally looked the girl in the eyes.

"Oh, that's wonderful! We're in the same class!" she said as she clutched one hand to her chest.

"Yeah, it'll be good to know someone in class. However, I have an appointment I need to be getting to so I should get going." Izuku said, hoping it wasn't too obvious that he wanted to leave desperately.

"Oh, well I don't want to keep you. Before you go though, could I get your contact information?" she paused for a second and her smile began to falter a bit, "..for school you know?"

Izuku gave her his number now that he had a phone and they then parted ways. 'For the first time, I have someone's contact info… AHH. I completely forgot about that girl with the horns and pink hair !' He thought and began to panic slightly. He calmed down eventually after telling himself he could text her after he gets home later.

Izuku was standing at the base of the law firm as he peered up to the top of the building. It was huge, maybe twenty stories high, no scratch that, thirty stories even. He looked back at the door and decided it was now or never, he walked in and went right to the front desk and spoke to one of the receptionists. " Hi, my name is Izuku Midoriya. I'm here for a reading of a will?"

"Okay let me check and tell you where you need to go," she said as she started clicking away at her keyboard. It took her a minute before she finally spoke again "Alright it appears you will need to go to the fifteenth floor, and you will be meeting Mr Nakahara."

"Alright, thanks." Izuku proceeded to the elevator, not ready for what was about to unfold.

AN:

Hi everybody! Sorry, it has taken so long for this chapter to come out, especially since it isn't necessarily a long one. School, sports, college applications/scholarships and other things are really making me slack a bit on my writing, and that is where you come in! I decided the most logical step is for me to take on a proofreader/consultant. Anyone will be able to apply for the position as long as you understand the work that you will be doing.

Of course, since I am a broke high school senior who is going to college mostly on scholarships and such, you'd be doing this for your love of MHA and wanting to be a part of creating something. I will put you in the bio and put and AN at the beginning of every chapter acknowledging your help. I hope I'm not asking too much, but if you are interested PM me or email me at deciphus7 with a way to get back to you and your qualifications.

The Job that you will be helping with involves the following but is not limited to:

-Me bouncing Ideas off of you/ you suggesting changes

-Proofreading for mistakes/ how fluid it reads

-Fact-checking my MHA knowledge as I don't know everything off the top of my head

Much love and have a good day! :)
