Chapter 15

Nova Purge.

I may not know of this ship personally, however the familiarity of it was something I couldn't ignore. It also made me realize how foolish I was. Lord Boros, the original Lord Boros wouldn't be foolish enough to say… put all his eggs in one basket?

I was aware of the various ships he possessed, and came to the conclusion that each of those ships, had a clone of himself, and it began to form the moment he was killed.

I had gone over the notion with mother, brining up other ships that came to mind and was even able to do a bio scan of each one for the clone. None were to be found, except for Nova Purge.

"Is this clone coming for you?" mother asked.

I didn't know for certain, until I happened to be in the room when we got a message from said ship. There was indeed another clone of Lord Boros, the one that stared into the screen smiled and stated that he was coming to earth to finish what was started. Also, he was coming to kill me personally. There can only be one clone of Boros apparently, and it's the battle of the strongest.

I took one look at this version and found it odd. It wore ridiculous looking armor! It was twice the size and thickness of the original's…

When the message ended. Mother looked to me with worry. However I smiled to her. "Let's prepare a welcoming committee" I said with a grin.

She smiled back, however I wanted to be certain that I was ready to fight a fellow clone. I know better than to assume he is weaker than me. I have to go into the mindset that he is stronger.

So I need to be stronger.

I wished elder Garou and Melee were well enough. They would be the perfect pair to practice against! Yet sadly, their conditions have not improved. I did the next best thing and asked their children.

The brothers mainly, and they accepted with smiles on their faces.

I was taken to a canyon where Pac explained their father Garou liked to spar with Saitama.

That alone startled me. "Wait, you father… purposely fought Saitama!?" I demanded of them.

Pac snickered as Hunter laughed. "Honestly, the two like to from time to time. Saitama is one of the few people who can handle dad's power and vice versa."

"But why?" I asked. "Does your father need to get stronger?"

The brothers paused. Goliath however explained. "It's not like dad HAS to, it just happens that he does. He eats monsters often, and absorbs their strength. So it's added on to him, no matter the level, he gains something from them. Either more power, a new ability…" he said offhandedly.

"It's the same with us too. Just like dad too, when we fight someone stronger, our bodies adjust and strength." Said Pac. "I personally don't like to push myself when it comes to that… I've changed enough as it is…"

"You appear quite upset with the notion. Does change not signify your growth as a warrior?" I asked of him.

However Pac wasn't in the mood to speak of it, he refused to. "Don't mind him, he never wanted to turn out this way" Hunter explained.

"Ah, I am sorry about that. However with your condition, you can assist me greatly with my own growth and abilities. Are you still capable?" I asked.

Pac nodded. The brothers all agreed to assist me however possible.

"So, how are we going to do this?" questioned Draven.

"Simple, all four of you attack me at once." I said.

They brothers paused oddly. "Really? All four of us? You can handle that?" Hunter asked with a wide grin on his face.

"Indeed, it will sharpen my skills and force me to think things through as well as quickly should something occur. We will go until either I cannot continue, or the four of you are unable to battle."

They appeared interested now.

"Very well then, how about you go a little farther down, we will come up with a plan." Said Pac.

I agreed to the notion and began to make my way down the canyon. I wondered though if something like this will be able to contain our battle?

"WE'RE READY!" Hunter shouted.

"AS AM I!"

I stood prepared for the assault, however I froze when I realized, I only saw two of the brothers…

Instantly my arms went up as I blocked a strike from Hunter and Pac!

"Remarkably fast!" I said and yet was able to push them away. My heart began to race with excitement. I couldn't wait to battle these four!

Our first spar session lasted no more than ten minutes.

I give credit where it's due. Not many are able to survive ten minutes against the likes of me anyways. Yet the brothers were battered and bloodied from today. "I think I went a little too hard…" I said sheepishly.

Hunter spat out a mouth full of blood. "Nah, just the right amount I think. By tomorrow we should be good."

"Tomorrow? You will heal that fast?"

"Well, maybe not completely…" muttered Draven. "But it will be enough to stand against you again, hell, we may just even be stronger by tomorrow!"

For a strange reason it brought a smile to my face. "Is that so? I look forward to your progress."

For days on end, we sparred. So much so I accidently triggered a change in Goliath and Draven. Little did I know, the twin brothers felt similar to their elder brother Pac. Well Goliath has the power of one Amai Mask, he acquired it by accident from wearing a serpent skin suit he use to wear from Amai's old scales. As such, he became what he is now. He has even gotten some of Amai's mannerisms much to his dismay.

But he refused to use that power in our battle.

I had to take him off to the side and insist upon him using that strength. "You cannot hold yourself back like this. You will not benefit yourself or your family!" I scolded him.

We went back to the canyon in the afternoon after just having a spar session with the other brothers. Goliath has been battered from our little skirmish. But he appeared ready to go once more. "Boros, I am not comfortable using his power. I mean… Amai isn't exactly the person I want to try and emulate here…"

I nodded in agreement. "Sometimes one cannot chose where their strength comes from. Do you have any idea how jealous I am of you and your family?" I asked of him. "Growing up, it was against my siblings, it was survival of the strongest to say the least. Feast or famine, live or die… I never thought family to be much more than stepping stones in your own growth to become unstoppable."

I paused as I realized how much I startled him. "Shit, really?" he asked.

"I was greatly confused when I first saw your family interact. How strong elder is and the fact that his children were not thrown into competition with each other for attention or food. I didn't think one's bloodline would be able to survive if they allow their children to grow without challenges. But also, I never knew strength could be drawn from those around you…"

Goliath paused, as he appeared rather stunned by my words. "Boros…"

"It matters not, the original Boros never bothered to learn these things, the fact that I was able to is nothing more than a new source of strength for me. Now, let's begin… and bring out your full power. I wish to see it"

He hesitated but then a stern nod came from the boy. He focused, and then his arms began to get thick veins, then his legs followed suit, as he appeared to be coursing with power. Then, Goliath moved…

He was like a blur to be honest, faster than what he was earlier, and the first blow indicated that his strength at least doubled.

I can work with this!

We went a good half hour before he had to stop. Something was off with him as he fell to his knees holdings his sides painfully. "Goliath?" I questioned.

He fell over to his side, that was when I sense a surge coursing through him. His body pulsed, then it began to grow!

A growth spurt, and so suddenly?

He laid there for a moment in pain, his flesh split open until he was able to recover.

Even in that moment of pain, I sensed his strength grow once more. "Remarkable humans…" I muttered.

He stood once more. Yet was nearly taken aback. "Did… I grow?"

Before, Goliath nearly stood as my equal. Now, he did but he also gained a little weight. I had to smirk at the discovery. "You are as big as your uncle Knuckle," I said proudly.

He paused for a moment, and then a small tear escaped one of his eyes. "I am?... thanks for telling me that." he said and smiled.

"Now then, how about we call it a day for now? You have changed and will need to adjust to your new size…"

Before I could continue, his stomach roared like a void beast. "And I do believe it will be time for some food…"
