Chapter 8: Too Much Water
[BGM: Rosalina in the Observatory 2 – Super Mario Galaxy]
Everyone in the Observatory watched as Mario, Sonic and Incineroar flew back with their respective Stars collected and landed on the ground.
"Oh, you're back." Trifle said. "How did it go for you?"
"Well, I just raced against a Boo who calls himself the Spooky Speedster." Mario started. "Had to use a lot of Pull Stars for that."
"I fought a shadowy rock monster!" Incineroar grinned. "Couldn't stand a chance against me, as you can imagine, but it did put up quite of a fight."
"I came across a place called Matter Splatter Mansion, and it was rather weird." Sonic said. "Doors and walls would suddenly appear and disappear, and not to mention that a small patch of the ground would move on its own while all the stuff behind it disappears as if it never even existed."
"Huh, curious…" Trifle mused. "Wait a minute, what about Daisy?"
"Oh, right…" Mario blinked. "We actually never bumped into her during our exploration, so hopefully she'll arrive back here soon."

It was at this moment that a bright light suddenly shone next to them, forcing them to cover their eyes.
"…Wooooaaaaah!" a voice screamed from the light as it started to fade away, revealing none other than Luigi standing there. "Mama mia…" he groaned dizzily, stumbling around a little.
With Luigi's reveal, everyone's eyes shot wide in shock, but especially Mario's. "…Bro?!"
"M-Mario…?" hearing Mario's voice, Luigi immediately shifted his gaze to his brother, and his reaction mirrored Mario's perfectly. "MARIO!" Luigi yelled, tears running down his cheeks as he rushed up to Mario and hugged him, with Mario returning it. "Oh, big bro! It was terrible! I got lost with the Toads during that emergency landing… and before I knew it, I was kidnapped by a scary rocky monster and taken to that spooky place! I was terrified out of my mind since I was all alone!" Luigi cried.
"Scary rocky monster? Could it be that same one I just fought…?" Incineroar thought.
"There, there, little bro…" Mario smiled. "It's all over now. You're finally safe and back with us right here."
"Thanks, Mario…" Luigi smiled back as they parted. "And you all too." he said upon noticing the others looking at him with warm smiles. "Wait… What is this place, anyways?" he wondered, looking around.
"The Comet Observatory." Rosalina replied. "Don't worry, it's perfectly safe here."
"Oh, alright. It's pretty nice-looking."
"Say, there's something that I just didn't get." Trifle spoke up. "Why did you come here through a glow instead of flying?"
"Um… Honestly, I have no clue. Shortly after I was imprisoned, I found a Power Star somewhere and it didn't do anything… until a rather cute-looking Boo that even looked female came up to me and I sucked her up with my Poltergust, and then the Star suddenly glowed and it transported me here."
"Huh, that's odd…" Mario mused. "Hold on, did you just say cute-looking Boo? How cute are we talking?"
"Well, she claimed that she wasn't a ghost at all, but I sucked her in anyway. Being a ghostbuster for a long time, you know I wasn't going to fall for that sort of trick again."
"MMMPH! MMMMPH!" Daisy's muffled voice came from the Poltergust, though no one was able to tell that it's her… yet.
"Rather a feisty one, too." Sonic remarked.
"Mmmph… Someone-mmmph! Let mmmph out!"
"Wait a minute… that voice!" Mario's eyes perked up as he walked behind Luigi and knelt in front of the Poltergust. "Daisy? Is that you?"
"Mmmphario?" Daisy asked. "Ye-mmmph, it's me! It's kinda crowded mmmph here!"
"Hold on… ARE YOU TELLING ME THAT I ACTUALLY SUCKED IN-…" Luigi paled, his eyes shooting wide.
"Worry later! Just let her out!" Mario ushered.
"O-Okay!" Luigi quickly hit the reverse button as Daisy was shot out, still in her Boo form but immediately reverted back to normal once she slammed onto the ground, and looked rather dusty.

"*cough* *cough* Ugh…" Daisy coughed and groaned, and then sneezed.
Luigi's jaw dropped. "D-D-D-D-DAISY?!"
"Huh?" Daisy got back up and looked behind her to see Luigi, who was shaking wildly.
"L-L-Look, I-I'm really sorry! I-I never knew it was actually you!"
Daisy stared at Luigi for a while… and then she angrily slapped him in the face.
"OW!" Luigi yelled.
"What is WRONG with you, Luigi!? I TOLD you I WASN'T a ghost, and you sucked me in ANYWAYS!" Daisy snapped as Luigi was rubbing the spot he was slapped on.
"I-I'M SORRY! Y-You know very well that I often ghost bust, a-a-and my instincts of it came in, so-…!"
"Still no excuse!" Daisy shot back, and with a huff, she stormed away from him.
"H-Hey, wait! Daisy!" Luigi called out, but Daisy would hear none of it. "I SAID I WAS SORRY!" he cried as he ran after her, while the others saw all this with bewildered looks on their faces.

"Weeell… That happened." Shulk remarked.
"Meh… New friend angry…!" Kino spoke shakily.
"Things are definitely complicated right now for those two." Link said. "Hopefully Daisy can forgive Luigi soon."
"Yeah, but until then, she needs to calm her nerves right now." Cloud added.
"So… I guess we can resume collecting more Stars now." Trifle stated with a shrug.
"Indeed." Polari chimed in. "In fact, you have enough Power Stars to access the enemy base."
"Really? Awesome!" Trifle grinned. "You know that I'm heading there!"
"I'll go too!" Mario volunteered.
"And me!" Kirby added.
"Hey, if Kirby is going, then I'm going too!" Lacey came in.
"We also have more accessible galaxies as well." Polari continued as he looked at the map. "These ones being Beach Bowl and Buoy Base. Oh, and there's also a Daredevil Comet at Ghostly Galaxy and a Hungry Luma over the Kitchen!"
After debating over about which galaxies they'll head off to, these groups instantly took off to the Kitchen, while Neri went for the Hungry Luma and fed it 600 Star Bits before blasting off to the newly-created galaxy, Drip Drop.
[BGM: Observation Dome – Super Mario Galaxy]
The inside of this cozy Kitchen had a wooden floor with a raised star-shaped platform in the middle, while the walls and ceiling were peach-colored with green pillars, and near the bottom of the walls were a bunch of red and yellow bricks. There was also a sink and a fireplace near the entrance, a shelf beside the fireplace with all sorts of kitchen utensils organized on it, and some silver trays were hanged on the walls.
The groups stepped up on the star platform and used the Pull Star above to trigger the spacey view around them, and then they blasted off to their respective galaxies.

At Beach Bowl Galaxy…
[BGM: Beach Bowl Galaxy – Super Mario Galaxy]
This galaxy was a water-themed one, with the largest planet shaped like a toilet bowl being the main beach area filled with small islands and penguins, and there was also a shallow pool in the middle ringed with grassy knolls. Right behind this planet was a steep mountain with a waterfall falling out onto the front side. Its name is a pun on "beach ball", as both names can be pronounced very similarly.
The ones that chose this galaxy were the Inklings, Red, and Eira, as they landed on the Heavenly Beach planet's starting point and looked around.
"Wow, what a nice beach!" Red exclaimed.
"I know, right?" Inkling Girl threw in.
"Oh, my brother is going to be jealous…" Eira said as she noticed a vine, as she had an idea to jump up to it and swing on it. "…He's going to be REALLY jealous!" she beamed as she started swinging around. "WOOHOOO! THIS IS SO FUN!" she cheered.
[BGM Pause]
Speaking of which…
[BGM: Speedy Comet – Super Mario Galaxy]
Jack was in the middle of a fight against Bouldergeist alongside Incineroar during the Daredevil Comet mission, as they were now at the second phase of the battle already. Then, out of nowhere, Jack suddenly sneezed:
"ACHOO!"
"Hey, you got some dust in your nose or what?" Incineroar wondered as he dodged a punch from Bouldergeist.
"I dunno…but I'm getting a feeling that someone was talking about me." Jack replied. "And I even believe that it was my sister…"
"Eh, it's probably nothing. Now help me out here!"
"Right!" Jack took out a Poké Ball and summoned Aurorus. "Aurorus, use Blizzard!"
Aurorus did so and it froze both of Bouldergeist's arms in ice as it looked at them in shock, not noticing Incineroar coming towards it and delivering a punch strong enough to shatter its entire rock armor and reveal its shadowy wisp form. And when it tried to flee, it proved to be fruitless as Jack commanded Aurorus to use Ancient Power, lifting some rock shards around it before tossing them at the uvula, destroying Bouldergeist once more.

Back at Beach Bowl…
[Resume "Beach Bowl Galaxy" BGM]
Red let Squirtle dive into the water by a request from him as the Inklings jumped in with him and were swimming in their squid forms, while Eira decided to explore the area above the water and greeting the penguins that she ran into. During her exploration, she came upon a lone treasure chest on the corner of the far-right side of the planet.
"Oooh! What's in there?" she wondered as she inspected it. "Hmm, I'm going to need something to break it open." she said and walked up to the water and noticed a Green Shell in the deep. "Maybe that should do it!" she dove into the water after it.
Meanwhile, Inkling Girl was gathering up the five Star Chips inside the water while Inkling Boy tossed a Green Shell onto a cracked wall to uncover the passage leading to the secret cave as he went in there. A Launch Star appeared in the water after Inkling Girl gathered up all the Star Chips as she went in it and blasted off out of the water, landing at the planet's grassy area where she walked around and splattered ink on a cliff to climb it up by swimming inside the ink, before doing the same thing again on another cliff to reach the top and break the crystal to free the Power Star.
"Woomy!" she cheered and took the Star before flying off to the Observatory.
Back inside the water, Squirtle was just swimming around and having fun until he noticed a shiny Gold Shell at the bottom that piqued his interest.
"Squirt?" Squirtle wondered and swam down to pick it up. "Squirtle, Squirtle!" he exclaimed and started to swim back up to the surface with it, right when a penguin nearby was about to grab it.
"Aww… I got beaten by a turtle! That's embarrassing…" the penguin spoke.
Soon, Squirtle came back up to the surface right where Red was standing.
"Hey, you're back, Squirtle!" he smiled, and then he eyed at the Gold Shell. "What's this? Did you find it down there?"
"Squirtle Squirt!" Squirtle nodded.
"Hmm… Why don't we show it to the penguin coach over there?" Red suggested as they walked up to the penguin coach, in which he noticed the Gold Shell in Squirtle's hands.
"Amazing! You brought the Gold Shell!" he beamed. "You passed the underwater shell collecting test with an immediate A grade! Well then, here's a big Gold Medal for you!" he gave Squirtle a Power Star.
"Squirtle!" Squirtle chirped and took it.
"Oh, nice!" Red exclaimed, but then the coach gave both of them a quizzical look.
"Nice job on the test! But…are you even one of my students?" he questioned.
Red paled up nervously. "Uh… Er…" he glanced down at Squirtle, who also had a similar expression. "We… better get going now…" Red said and the Power Star started to take them back to the Observatory, leading the coach to just shrug it off.
[BGM: Space Athletic – Super Mario Galaxy]
Moving over to Inkling Boy, he made it to the Stone Cyclone planet after using a Launch Star in the cave, where he just proceeded to avoid the Thwomps and Tox Boxes, the latter easily being done by just hiding in the ink he would create on the floor, and then he ran past the last Thwomp to make it to the end and broke the crystal containing the Power Star.
"Ngyes!" Inkling Boy grinned and flew off with the Star.
[BGM: Blue Sky Athletic – Super Mario Galaxy]
Back with Eira, she had just arrived at the Twin Fall Lake planet after busting open the chest with the Green Shell and using the Launch Star in it. She took a good look around the planet until she looked up to see some floating platforms above from where the waterfalls were pouring out of.
"I suppose I must get to the top." Eira said to herself and proceeded to use her ice powers to freeze the entire water including the waterfalls, where she then ice skated towards them and wall-jumped off of them until she got to the top and entered the Sling Star. She landed on the icy planet above and, seeing the Power Star in the air just up ahead, she decided to create a staircase made of ice leading to the Star in front of her, and then she went up the icy stairs to claim her prize.
"I just love how creative I can get with my ice powers!" she exclaimed cheerfully and then flew off.

At Buoy Base Galaxy…
[BGM: Buoy Base Galaxy – Super Mario Galaxy]
This galaxy, like its name implies, is mainly focused on a large buoy. The buoy itself is a tall fortress floating atop a large, semispherical pool of water surrounded by a junk belt.
"So this is Buoy Base Galaxy…" Shulk said after he and Cloud landed on the ground. "I'm already seeing something at the top, but we have to make this tower rise up somehow."
"Indeed." Cloud nodded. "I'm also wondering if this place holds any secrets…" he thought as he and Shulk dove into the water and swam down to the bottom, catching the Bloopers' attention as the duo quickly took care of them.
While Shulk lured a Torpedo Ted to destroy the massive weight and made the tower rise up, Cloud looked over to see a Warp Pipe being held prisoner by a cage as he destroyed it with a Cross Slash before getting immediately sucked into it and popping out from the planet's underside. There, he noticed a Green Star locked in a cage surrounded by Bill Blasters as he glided over to it, where a Bullet Bill was shot out from one of the Bill Blasters and followed Cloud upon spotting him, with him unaware of it as he was about to free the Green Star by using Cross Slash again, but then he noticed the Bullet Bill coming for him. Acting quickly, Cloud leapt behind the cage and that resulted in the Bullet Bill slamming into it and blowing it up, freeing the Green Star.
"I'll take this." Cloud said and took the Star before flying off.
Heading back to Shulk, he used Monado Jump to jump up to reach for the last Blue Star Chip above a Jump Guarder and then a Pull Star appeared above him and pulled him up to the Water Sphere planet, where he ran over while doing some hops to avoid the pulse-waves being generated by the two Ball Beamers. He reached the Ball Beamer that was a screw and quickly unscrewed it, causing the top half of the planet to open up, and the planet now looks a lot like a giant Poké Ball to which Shulk noticed.
"Huh, how curious…" he mused before he swam down to the bottom, where a Power Star awaited him as he picked it up and took off.

At Drip Drop Galaxy…
[BGM: Drip Drop Galaxy – Super Mario Galaxy]
This Hungry Luma galaxy is essentially a large planet made almost entirely of water, with a small sandy core and two small floating islands. Sitting on the core of this galaxy, on the bottom of the sea, are some boulders. There is also a sunken airship, as well as a sunken Starshroom and a volcanic vent. The planet is inhabited by penguins, three Gringills and various fish, although these Gringills weren't originally there.
Neri landed on one of the two small islands and the first thing she immediately took notice of was the huge amount of water around her. At first, she was ecstatic by all this water, until she noticed that the atmosphere of this planet, the Tear Drop planet, had an unusual feeling to it.
"Why does this place feel so…sad?" she wondered and then took notice of all the distressed penguins around her, as she decided to walk up to them. "Hey, what's wrong? What's with the saddened looks?" she asked.
"Those Giant Gringills have been terrorizing the waters lately!" a penguin said.
"Gringills like those could gobble us all up in one bite!" another one exclaimed.
"Ever since they showed up, we haven't caught ANY fish!" the third one added. "We'll die of starvation if they aren't taken care of!"
"Oh, you poor things…" Neri frowned.
"Can you help us, please? Can you beat those Gringills by hitting them with shells?"
Neri smiled. "I'll get right on it! I won't let you poor creatures starve any longer!"
With that, she dives into the water while changing into her mermaid form and proceeded to swim around, seeing one of the Gringills swimming nearby.
"That must be one of those Gringills the penguins mentioned…" she guessed and quickly looked around to find a Shell, and managed to find a green one as she took it and instantly threw it at the Gringill, defeating it. "One down!" she exclaimed and then swam through and found the second Gringill, where she now found a Red Shell and tossed it away, as it homed in onto the Gringill and hit it at point-blank range.
"Nice!" she grinned and swam around some more, where she encountered a few Urchins, Spiny Cheep Cheeps and Torpedo Teds that were going after her, but she created a water shield around her to protect herself from the Torpedo Teds as she managed to find the last Gringill. She opened a treasure chest nearby to get herself another Red Shell and wasted no time in throwing it at the Gringill to destroy it.

With the last Gringill defeated, Neri glanced over to the sunken airship to see a golden light as she curiously swam towards it, and that golden light happened to be a Power Star.
"Hello there, pretty Star!" Neri happily took it. "Now the penguins are free to catch fish again, so my work here is done!" she said and flew off.
Meanwhile, at the Observatory…
A portal appeared in front of Rosalina as Melissa emerged out of it. "Hey, Aunt Rosie." Melissa greeted.
"Ah, you're back!" Rosalina exclaimed. "So, have they awakened?"
"Yes, indeed. And… where is Trifle right now?"
"He went off with Mario, Kirby and Lacey to the enemy base." Rosalina replied. "Say, don't you have a feeling that they might need some help?"
"That's exactly what I was thinking." Melissa nodded, and then formed a smirk. "I'll be sending them right away." she went back into the portal and it disappeared.
Rosalina giggled. "Well, these four guys will be in for a wild new ride."
At Bowser Jr.'s Airship Armada…
[BGM: Airship Armada – Super Mario Galaxy]
As of now, Trifle, Mario, Kirby and Lacey have stormed through and sunk the majority of the airships and were now on the one with Wigglers on it, as they defeated those with no problems and then Lacey fired a heart-shaped projectile with her Love-Love Stick at the Mandibug to defeat it before they boarded the platform, where Mario pulled the lever to get the platform moving.
During the ride, they were bombarded by many cannonballs coming from several airships, but Kirby inhaled them up and spat them out as a Star Bullet away, while Trifle was slashing through every Sprangler they encountered along the way. Eventually, the bombardment ceased and the platform stopped at the final airship.
"You all ready?" Mario asked.
The trio smirked. "More than ever!" Trifle replied.
"Yeah!" Kirby and Lacey nodded, and then they used the Sling Star in front of them to board the airship.
[BGM End]
Sounds of a blaring alarm immediately kicked in the exact moment the group stepped on the airship, and they heard laugher as Bowser Jr showed up on his airship.
"Junior!" Mario snarled.
"Bah, you just don't give up! Fine, then. I guess I'll just whup you myself!" Bowser Jr exclaimed.
"We'd like to see you try!" Trifle challenged.
Bowser Jr chuckled evilly. "You all want the Grand Star so bad? You're gonna have to take it from me!" he declared, and then the group stood ready to fight.
[BGM: Enter Bowser Jr.! – Super Mario Galaxy]
Bowser Jr proceeded to fire cannonballs from his airship at the group, only for Kirby to inhale them and spit out a Star Bullet, hitting Bowser Jr but he just shrugged it off, although he did release a lot of Star Bits upon being hit.
"Hmph!" Bowser Jr scoffed and fired Bullet Bills this time as they homed in on the group, forcing them to dodge as Lacey fired heart projectiles at some of the Bullet Bills to destroy them, while Mario eyed at a Koopa Troopa walking by and stomped on it to make it retreat into its shell before he picked it up.
Mario aimed the shell at Bowser Jr's airship. "Steady… steady…" he said and tossed the shell at the airship, which caused damage.
"Ack!" Bowser Jr yelped.
"Aha!" Mario smirked. "We have to aim for the airship, guys!" he instructed.
"Ah, gotcha!" Trifle replied, mirroring Mario's expression as he quickly ran up to another Koopa Troopa while Kirby and Lacey were dealing with the cannonballs and Bullet Bills respectively, and he smacked the Koopa to get its shell and then threw it at Bowser Jr's airship, damaging it even more.
Bowser Jr then called up a Magikoopa to deal with them, but he was easily defeated by Mario's spin attack before he went to get another Green Shell and toss it at the airship again.
The airship started to smoke as Bowser Jr becomes pissed off, and made his ship turn to face the group where the Bowser face on the front suddenly fired out three fireballs. The group quickly ducked under the fireballs before Mario and Trifle went back to get more Green Shells, while Kirby and Lacey were once again destroying the cannonballs and Bullet Bills… with one of them even accidentally hitting a Magikoopa in the process.
Soon, Mario and Trifle came back with each of them holding a Green Shell on their hands, and, after exchanging nods, the duo threw their shells. A direct hit.
[BGM End]
Bowser Jr panicked and was forced to abandon ship by going into his Clown Car right before the airship exploded, and then he let out a scream. "YOU… I AM NOT GIVING UP THAT EASILY!" he yelled at the group, and much to their shock, Bowser Jr leapt towards the airship they were on… while changing into none other than his Shadow Mario form and landing once he was fully transformed, and pulled out his Magic Brush.
[BGM: Enter Bowser Jr.! (Fast) – Super Mario Galaxy]
"Did he just… change into Mario?!" Lacey asked in shock.
"Oh, not this again!" Mario exclaimed.
"As I said before, I'm not giving up that easily!" Shadow Mario scowled, and before the group knew it, he suddenly fired out graffiti from his brush at the ground they were standing on, causing their feet to sink into it and leave them trapped, and then Shadow Mario proceeded to cover their arms with graffiti nigh immediately.
"Ah! No…!" Trifle exclaimed as he and the others tried to get themselves out, but to no avail.
"We're stuck in the ground!" Kirby stated. "And we can't move our arms!"
"Nnnngh…!" Lacey attempted to get out by flapping her wings as fast as she could, but no use. "I can't even fly out!" she cried.
"Ha! Now you won't even be able to move around or attack me!" Shadow Mario teased and rose up his brush. "Time for the finishing touch!" he declared and fired more graffiti at them to cover them up entirely in it as their eyes widened in horror…
[BGM End]
…when all of a sudden, four purple magic circles inscribed with runes appeared from out of nowhere, covering the group's torsos and the graffiti was reflected back at Shadow Mario.
"AUGH!" Shadow Mario yelled as he quickly stopped firing graffiti before wiping some of it off of him.
"What the…?" Mario blinked in surprise, as did the trio. "Where did these come from?"
"Harm our friends, will you? Not when we're around!" a voice caught everyone's attention as they looked over to the side where the source of the voice came from, and it led their eyes to widen up by what they just saw.
[BGM: Adventure – Dragon Quest III Symphonic Suite]
The ones who just came in to save Mario, Trifle, Kirby and Lacey? None other than the four Dragon Quest Heroes themselves, as they were now fully awake and ready for some more action. They jumped down to the airship's lower level, keeping their glares at Shadow Mario.
"You guys?!" Mario gasped in surprise.
The Heroes glanced at Mario and smirked. "We'll handle that doppelganger of yours." Eleven said.
"Grrr! How dare you ruin my fun!" Shadow Mario growled as he ran over and jumped in the air to punch the Heroes, but they rose their shields up to block the attack and then Eleven shield-bashed Shadow Mario away while Arusu, Solo and Eight each shot a Frizzle at him.
Shadow Mario recovered while glaring at the Heroes and quickly painted the ground with graffiti in front of him as several Swoopin' Stus rose from it and went straight for the Heroes, only for Eight to destroy them easily by tossing his boomerang at them before Eleven proceeded to blow away all the goop with Skysplitter, which consisted of him channeling his sword with wind energy and slashing in front of him, and then Arusu ran up to Shadow Mario and slashed him to send him away.
Shadow Mario recovered again and this time he ran over to Solo, doing a triple jump and going for a drop kick, but Solo blocked it with his shield before Flame Slashing Shadow Mario away, then Arusu followed up by casting Kaswoosh to launch him into the air along with Eight, who quickly struck him to the ground with a Hatchet Man, and before Shadow Mario could even react or get back up, he saw Eleven running up to him with his greatsword glowing.
"Ah, crud…" Shadow Mario grumbled, and eventually, he was struck by Eleven's Unbridled Blade attack to which he slammed into the airship's wall, where he dropped the Grand Star in the process and was back to being Bowser Jr again.

The goop covering Trifle, Mario, Kirby and Lacey also disappeared, and thus they were free.
"Yay! We're free!" Kirby cheered. "Thank you, guys!" he thanked the Heroes.
"Uuuurgh…" Bowser Jr groaned as he slowly got up and glared at the group. "Agh, I can't believe I got curbstomped just by you four showing up!" he pointed an accused finger at the Heroes. "Next time, I won't lose that easily!" he exclaimed as he got into his Clown Car and flew off.
"He's long gone now…" Mario sighed. "But no matter. We appreciate you for helping us, Heroes." he smiled at them.
"You're welcome. And it's good to see you three again." Eight addressed Mario, Trifle and Kirby. Then, he eyed at Lacey with a curious expression. "And… who are you?" he asked.
"Oh, hello! I'm Lacey, the fairy of love and a close friend of Kirby!" Lacey waved cheerfully. "Nice to meet you!"
"Likewise." Solo smiled.

Everyone else nodded in response and they all grabbed the Grand Star and flew off to the Observatory together.

Remember back at Princess Jewel Sunshine where I originally wanted to create an actual Shadow Mario fight but it never made in for the final version? So I decided to redeem myself for that and put one in this story instead! Now, when talking about BGMs, I was originally going to use the Heroes' main leitmotif for their fight against Shadow Mario (that being "G Free ~ Final Dream") but I decided to use "Adventure" from Dragon Quest III's symphonic suite instead since I felt that this one had a more "The Heroes are back into action, baby!" feeling to it. Plus, it works as a nice little reference to the second half of Hero's Smash Bros reveal trailer.

Trivia for this chapter:
1. The chapter title is named after the infamous "Too much water" meme that originated from IGN's review of Pokémon Omega Ruby/Alpha Sapphire.
2. The part where Jack suddenly sneezes out of nowhere is a reference to a Japanese belief that says that if you sneeze, it means that someone is talking about you. This is very commonly seen in anime.
3. As mentioned in the chapter, the planet above the tower in Buoy Base Galaxy looks a lot like a Poké Ball from the Pokémon franchise, which is a highly possible reference to it.
4. Bowser Jr releasing Star Bits upon being hit is something that you can actually do in the game, as hitting him during the fight with a Star Bit or Green Shell will cause him to release 20 Star Bits. Unfortunately, you can do that only one time.
