Chapter 7: Meeting With The Cheerleaders

It was 2:05 pm in Middleton as Anna and Ann walked into the Middleton Mall with smiles on their faces. It's been a few minutes since dropping Jim and Tim off at the Middleton Dance Academy and, after some thought, Anna and Ann decided to spend the next hour at the mall before having to pick up Jim and Tim.
"Thanks for signing the tweebs up for tap dancing lessons," Anna said, happily.
"You're welcome, Annie," Ann said. "Hopefully that will teach your uncles to never use your tap shoes for experiments."
"So, which store should we go to first?" Anna asked, changing subjects.
"It's your call, Annie," Anna replied.
Anna smiled from ear-to-ear, "Let's go to the Lapezio store."
"And I bet there must be some tap shoes and dancewear just waiting for you to get," Ann speculated.
Anna nodded, "You know it."
Just then, Anna and Ann noticed a group of girls about to walk by.
Anna and Ann recognized them.
"Hey, guys," Anna spoke up with a wave.
The four girls stopped walking and noticed Anna and Ann.
"Hey," The girl who looked almost like Hope waved back.
"Hey, Marcella," Ann spoke up with a wave.
"Hey, Mrs. Possible," Marcella waved back.
"You must be Marcella, Jessica, Liz, and Crystal," Anna speculated.
"We are," Marcella said, confirming Anna's speculation. "And you must be Kim and Ron's adopted-daughter, Anna."
"I am," Anna said with a nod. "Mom and Dad have told me so much about you four."
Ann then spoke up, "Why don't we all sit down somewhere and you four and Annie can get to know each other more?"
"That sounds like a good idea," Jessica agreed.
"Let's go to the food court and sit at one of the tables there," Liz suggested.
With that, Anna, Ann, and the former Middleton High School Cheerleaders walked off to the food court.
Later, Anna, Ann, Jessica, Liz, Marcella, and Crystal were sitting at a table in the food court. For some time, the four cheerleaders have been getting to know Anna. So far, Anna has told them on how she too took a liking to tap dancing and how she met Kim and Ron and became their adopted-daughter.
After Anna concluded with how she became a Stoppable, She changed subjects, "So, where are you four going to college?"
"I'm attending Lowerton University," Crystal answered Anna's question. "I'm studying to become a doctor."
"I'm going to Upperton University," Liz added. "I'm studying to become a lawyer."
"And me and Marcella are attending college in Middleton," Jessica added. "I'm studying to become a therapist."
"And I'm studying to become a gym teacher," Marcella added.
"That's great," Anna commented in amazement.
"My twin-sister, Maggie, is attending college with your adoptive parents, Tara, and Hope," Jessica pointed out. "She too is studying to become a therapist."
Anna nodded, "Yeah, I know; Mom and Dad told me." A thought then struck her before she turned to Marcella. "Say, Marcella, can I ask you something?"
"Anything," Marcella answered.
"Are you and Hope twin sisters?" Anna asked.
Marcella laughed and shook her head, "No, we aren't. But a lot of people think we are."
"So… Anna?" Jessica spoke.
"Yes, Jessica?" Anna answered.
"What do you like to do?" Jessica asked, changing subjects.
"Aside from tap dancing?" Anna asked. Jessica nodded. "Well, I like to do gymnastics, swimming, and martial arts. I'm also a little bit of a singer and figure skater too."
"What other dances do you like to do?" Liz asked Anna.
"I did ballet, Jazz, and Hip Hop," Anna replied. "But because I loved tap dancing the most, my biological parents pulled me out of the other classes and I solely do tap. Did you four girls used to dance?"
"I did ballet," Liz answered.
"Jazz," Crystal added.
"Hip Hop," Marcella.
"Tap," Jessica added.
"That's so cool!" Anna commented in amazement.
Liz then changed subjects, "Say, Anna, I forgot to ask this earlier but, what do you wanna be when you grow up?"
Anna hesitated before speaking, "Well, I wanna become a professional tap dancer. But yet, I don't wanna disappoint my Nana."
"Disappoint me how?" Ann asked as she turned to Anna.
Anna sighed as she turned to Ann, "Nana, you remember me telling you that you were my inspiration for wanting to become a neurologist?"
Ann nodded, "Yeah?"
"To be honest, I really wanted to become a professional tap dancer," Anna confessed. "The reason I previously wanted to be a neurologist was to please you; it would've been my way of repaying you for performing brain surgery on me years ago."
Ann gasped, "Annie, you don't have to be a neurologist just to please me!"
Anna slumped, "I'm so sorry."
"Annie, it's okay," Ann assured. "If you wanna become a professional tap dancer, I will be more than happy to support you."
Anna smiled as she sat back up straight, "Thank you, Nana."
"Anna?" Crystal spoke up, getting Anna's attention. "Mrs. Possible performed brain surgery on you?"
Anna nodded, "Yup."
"What happened?" Crystal asked.
"I came down with a brain tumor while I was in the U.S. with my biological family," Anna replied. "But, thanks to my future adoptive Nana, I am in the clear."
"And I am glad you are," Ann said.
Anna then changed subjects, "So, changing subjects, are you four cheerleading in college?"
"Why, yes we are," Marcella said.
Liz then remembered something and giggled.
This didn't go unnoticed.
"What's so funny?" Anna asked.
"I just remembered, were you watching last night's football game between Hudson River and Harvard?" Liz asked.
Anna nodded, "Yeah. Mom tackled and kissed my Dad after he handed Harvard their biscuit."
"And my husband nearly crushed the remote in his hand over seeing that," Ann added.
"Anna, I have to admit, that was some play your parents made," Liz commented.
Everyone at the table laughed at this.
After the laughter died down, Marcella asked, "Do you plan on becoming a cheerleader when you reach Middle School, Anna?"
Anna nodded, "You know it."
Ann then looked at her watch, noticed what time it was, and said, "Annie?"
"Yes, Nana?" Anna answered.
"We have a half hour before we have to pick up your uncles from tap dancing lessons," Ann announced.
The former Middleton High School cheerleaders couldn't believe what they heard.
"Since when did Kim's brothers take a liking to tap dancing?" Liz asked.
"They didn't," Anna replied.
"I punished them for destroying Annie's tap shoes a few days ago," Ann added.
"They destroyed Anna's tap shoes?" Crystal asked.
"They used them for an experiment," Anna groaned, getting Crystal's attention. "Well, I'd love to stay and talk with you more, but I need to do some shopping at the Lapezio store."
"Can we come with you?" Jessica asked.
"What do you mean?" Anna asked, confused.
"We each wanna go get a new pair of tap shoes," Jessica replied.
"Huh?" Anna asked, confused.
"We've seen some videos you've posted on your YouTube page and it made us wanna give tap dancing a shot," Marcella answered.
"And made me wanna get back into it," Jessica added.
Anna smiled and nodded, "Okay, let's head on over to Lapezio."
With that, Anna, Ann, and the four former Middleton High School Cheerleaders got up from their seats and walked off to the Lapezio dance store.
