Chapter 9

Since Angel was out with them, he helped Cara with patrolling around the grave before leaving them. Spike puffed his cigarette with Cara standing next to him texting her brother. "Derek wants to know if you wanted to go to the strip clubs." Cara looked at him. Spike looked at her puffing his cigarette not too interested in going.

"I trust you, if you want to go," She looked at him.

"You would let me go?" He asked her.

"Yes, what else could happen?" Cara asked him.

"They don't interest me like you do," he kissed her lips briefly.

Cara put in no that he was not going. "You suck, and a party pooper," she read.

Spike snickered at that leading her into his place. He locked the door behind him not wanting any interuptions. He took off his shirt in front of her trying to find a different one to change into. She liked the way he looked without the shirt herself. Spike caught her watching him stopping what he was doing coming up to her. "You're such a tease." She leaned in kissing his lips.

His arms pulled her close to him as he kissed her. Spike pulled back to look into her eyes feeling nothing but love for her. "I'd do anything for you love."

"I know, you don't have to." She held him. "I'm not the type to have you do anything stupid or irrational." Spike half laughed at that.

Her phone rang and she saw her brother calling. "You're not drunk again are you?" She asked him.

"No, but there is this big guy, I think he may be a vampire but not like what your use to. Just come down here please," he said hanging up.

"Vampire different breed? Never heard of that love."

"Derek needs me down there." Cara said getting up. Spike grabbed a shirt putting it on along with grabbing his jacket leaving with her. They grabbed a cab to take them down there. It was a good twenty minutes away by car. The cab got them there and she paid them. There was a guard standing in front of the entrance. "Police," she held her badge up.

He let them go through assuming Spike was with her. Cara walked around looking for her brother. She spotted him along with reconizing Riley and a few other guys, Derek got up walking over to them. "Where is he?" Cara asked him.

"Side door, I had some of the guys peek," Derek replied.

Both of them went out the side door slowly walking out. "He's still here," Spike said still sensing him there.

Something jumped behind her, she saw some sort of demonish type of thing, their face turned to normal as a human male. "What the hell are you?" she turned around.

"Princess." He said looking at her.

"Sorry wrong girl." She punched him across the face knocking him down.

Spike saw him getting up and he turned to his vampire face going after him. Cara moved seeing him getting hits in. Spike was pretty strong when it came to fighting other demons or vampires. The other guy still got hits on him but continued to fight. She grabbed a stake helping Spike fight staking him with nothing happening. He pushed Cara away from him and punched Spike across the face. He heard sirens thinking they were coming his way escaping.

Cara got up walking over to help Spike. His face turned to normal as blood was dripping from his mouth. She helped him stand up "Spike, are you ok?"

"I'm alright," he held on to her.

They went inside and Derek was still there but Riley was not. She grabbed a napkin off the bar giving it to Spike.

"You guys ok?" Derek walked up to them.

"The stake didn't kill him," Spike sat there wiping the blood off.

"Then there is something else that does," Cara said thinking a moment.

Cara called Angel leaving Spike and her brother talking. She informed him on what had been going on since her brother had called her that evening. "I'm almost wondering if he could be some sort of hybrid," she explained.

""It's possible, we can look into this guy in the morning." Angel replied. Cara finished up the phone conversation hanging up. Derek was getting ready to go offering them a ride home. They all got into the SUV driving back home, Derek told them where to drop them off. Her brother opened the doors letting them out near the graveyard. After Cara got out, Derek shut the door and they left. Spike walked with her to her home heading to up the stairs of her building. Cara walked through the back way up the steps making it to the front of her door. She scanned her key and it opened letting them in.

"You know, he called me princess before I punched him." Cara looked at Spike.

"Did he?" Spike asked her.

"It was like he knew me from somewhere." Spike seemed less than happy hearing about that.

"That wanker better stay out of my way, any other vampire messing with you will deal with me." Spike explained.

"I can handle myself."

"You don't understand pet, any male that gets in the way will get hurt. Having a mate tends to make me more protective of you it's instinct." He walked up to her getting close.

She got closer to him, not once did he takes his eyes off her. Her lips met his kissing him briefly. His hand rubbed along her face feeling the softness of her skin. He wanted nothing more than to lay beside her and hold her.

She went to the bathroom to change quickly coming out seeing him already in bed. The way he looked made her weak in the knees. Cara got in and he leaned in kissing her lips wanting her. His hand wandered up her thigh pleasing her between her legs. "Spike." She looked at him.

"Stop me," he said seductively. She enjoyed the moment until there was a knock at the door and Spike just kept going trying to ignoring it. The knock was louder this time causing him to stop. Bloody hell," he said getting off her putting on his pants and shirt. Cara got up going to the bathroom before coming out. Spike saw it was her brother letting him in. Cara came out seeing him.

"Can I crash here tonight?"

"Take the spare room."

"What can't sleep at home?" Spike asked him.

"They are having this huge party."

"You wanting to sleep? Thats the first." Cara said going back to her room. Spike followed her back into the room shutting the door behind him. They all went to sleep trying to get some sort of rest.

The next morning, her and Spike awoke to her brother playing his guitar. Cara leaned in kissing Spike briefly before getting up. She walked out to the front listening to him for a minute. He started to sing which he was great at. Spike came out front seeing him strumming the guitar. Cara left them while she went to get ready. It didnt take her too long between showering, drying her hair, and make up. She pulled her hair to up to the sides leaving the rest down. She came out in a red sleeveless shirt, black leather pants, with a silver shiny skinny belt. Spike looked up seeing the way she was dressed. He smiled at her a little admiring how beautiful she was.

Her arms wrapped around him and was mezmorized by her. Spike felt like he was the happiest man in the world with her in his life. He loved looking at her blue eyes. It was one of the things that stood out the most to him about her. Her eye color was something he had never seen in women with blue eyes.

They left heading to the office coming in from the back. The blonde that normally worked in the front came up to Cara. "Hey um..I was wondering is your brother single?" She asked her.

"Harmony right?" Cara asked her.

"Yeah, he is just so cute a lot of the women think so here."

"I know you're a vampire and all but if you date my brother don't try to kill him," Cara advised her.

"Oh no, I'm a good vampire," she explained.

Angel noticed Harmony talking to Cara. When she finished, he had her come into the office with him and Spike.

"What was that all about?" Spike asked her.

"She's so into my brother, I told her don't kill him."

"Guess you got straight to the point pet." Spike was surprised at her bluntness.

"So the guy you don't think was fully a vampire?" Angel questioned them getting on the subject from last night.

"I'd say hybrid, drinks blood, doesn't die by a stake. He's probably some rare breed or something. I've read about vampires, werewolves, etc," Cara explained.

"All new to me," Angel said thinking.

"That guy didn't look normal to me mate," Spike replied

"I can go dig in some of my books at home and bring them in." Cara's phone rang and she looked at it not reconizing the number. "Hello?" She answered.

"Hey Cara."

"Riley, how did you get my phone number?" She asked him.

"You're brother." He answered her. Spike rolled his eyes at that not really too happy with that.

"Can I see you so we can talk?" He asked her.

"I don't think thats a good ideas the moment. I've got a lot going on right now as it is and now I gotta go," she said hanging up.

"I don't trust him around you," Spike looked at her.

"He isn't aware that you're my boyfriend?" Cara wondered if she said that right. To Spike, that didnt bother him since she really wasn't sure what to call him.

"I don't trust him either after hearing what happened with him and Buffy," Angel said agreeing with Spike. Angel was called out of the office for a few minutes.

"Boyfriend works right?" Cara looked at Spike.

"Yes, in the human world, in the vampire world it means wife." He looked at her.

"Not every vampire here knows that either."

"True," he agreed with her.

"Mate sounds like you're going to eat me." Cara said thinking about it. Spike laughed at that a little. He took her hand in his kissing it pulling her close noticing Angel hasn't came back in the office.

"I admire your humor pet." She leaned in kissing him a moment. Spike pulled back sensing when he was coming back in. The door opened with a blonde walking in, Spike immediately recognized her.

"Buffy," he said surprised to see her.

"Hey Spike, who is that?" Buffy immediately noticed her.

"Caraline, she's another slayer I found. Apparently, she has been hiding out pretty well." He explained.

"Hi, nice to finally meet you," Cara said nicely.

"You're a cop too?"

"Yeah, been doing this for about six years. They assigned me here everyday, Why don't I let you guys talk? It looks like you have some catching up to do," she looked at them. Cara left the room as Spike watched her a moment.

"It's been a long time, how have you been?" Buffy asked him.

"Things have been quite well actually, I did what you told us to do which is live our lives. I didn't expect to fall in love again even when I finally got over you," he looked at her.

"I'm sorry about everything, I shouldn't have listened to you and made you go with me instead of letting you die," Buffy said feeling bad.

"It's all in the past now love, I'm over it," he assured her.

"When I told you I loved you I meant it." Spike sat there remembering she said that to him right before she left him.

"It would have been great to know that back then. I just don't feel the same way anymore, I'm in love with Cara. I ran into her when she was out catching criminals. Not once did she push me away, she respected by treating me like everyone else. I wasn't just some monster to her. She saved me on a couple of occasions as well. Her kindness and spending time getting to know me was what made me fall in love with her," he explained.

"I'm happy for you, it's nice not to see you not alone."

"Angel will always be first somehow I always knew that," Spike replied.

"You're right," Buffy admitted.

Angel came in the office seeing Buffy talking to Spike. "Angel, hi." She looked at him.

"Hi, everything ok?" He asked her.

"I was passing through, I thought I would stop in," Buffy replied. Spike got up leaving the room letting them talk.

Cara was at her desk trying to get a few things done. Spike sat next to her leaning in kissing her cheek.

"Hey, everything ok?" Cara looked up at him.

"Everything was fine love, you have nothing to worried about," he assured her.

"I wasn't worried." Spike wasn't for sure if he believed that or not.

"I just want to make sure that you know that it's you that I love. You're my world now and nothing is going to change that." Spike explained.

"I trust you and you didn't give me any reason to have any doubts. So don't worry I'm fine, if I wasnt I would tell you," Cara said letting him know she wasn't feeling anything different. Spike appreciated the fact that she had trusted him this much. It just made him love her that much more.
