Chapter 7- Rescue of friends

Earth-92, Los Angeles

It was raining. Angel ran into the alley with a sword in hand, his jobs of killing Sebassis and Hamilton finished. He was the only one so far, so either the others hadn't made it yet or they were all gone.

"Boo."

Angel turned to see a blood covered Spike emerging from the shadows.

"Anyone else?" Angel asked.

"Not so far", Spike replied and asked. "You feel the heat?"

"It's coming", Angel said.

Spike smirked. "Finally got ourselves a decent brawl."

They turned to see a bloodied Gunn running to the alley, an axe in hand.

"Damn! How'd I know the fang boys would pull through?" Gunn's steps got slower as Angel and Spike ran towards him. "You're lucky we're on the same side, dogs, because I was on fire tonight. My game was tight."

Gunn made it to them and nearly collapsed as the two noticed he was bleeding out. They helped him sit as Spike quipped. "Supposed to wear that red stuff on the inside, Charlie-boy."

Gunn stared at his bloody hand. "Any word on Wes?"

Spike shook his head. Then Illyria jumped down from above and broke the news. "Wesley's dead."

Angel looked heartbroken, Gunn was almost in tears, and Spike lowered his head.

Illyria herself was feeling rage and grief, to her surprise. "I'm feeling grief for him. I can't seem to control it."

They heard a crowd screaming and screeching as Illyria declared. "I wish to do more violence."

"Well, wishes just happen to be horses today", Spike said.

"Among other things", Angel added as they turned to see thousands and thousands of Demons coming towards them, some normal sized, other giant sized, and one huge Dragon was flying towards them too.

"Okay. You take the 30,000 on the left..." Gunn joked and trailed off.

"You're fading. You'll last 10 minutes at best", Illyria said to Gunn as she looked at his wound.

Thousands of Demons were now shouting and snarling.

Gunn shrugged. "Then let's make 'em memorable."

Angel stepped forward with Spike, Gunn and Illyria right behind him. Spike stood to Angel's far right, with Gunn flanking Angel's right side and Illyria flaking his left. They stared at the army approaching the four of them.

"And in terms of a plan?" Spike asked.

"We fight", Angel answered.

"Bit more specific?" Spike asked.

Angel stepped forward. "Well, personally, I kind of want to slay the Dragon."

Angel looked at the Demons again and declared. "Let's go to work."

Then suddenly four portals opened in the sky and a tall blonde armored man with a large battle ax flew out of one of them, from another flew a tall man in a blue suit with a red cape, a 'S' on the center of his suit in an emblem, and from another flew out a blonde woman wearing a suit similar to the man before her, with red cape and the 'S', and from the last one flew a long haired bearded man wearing battle armor, with a dark bluish cape and a war hammer in his hand.

Lightning cracked in the sky as the blonde man hurled his ax and it slaughtered many Demons effortlessly, while the bearded man twirled the hammer and hit the ground with it, summoning a lightning bolt that struck many Demons as well, killing them all. The blue suited man flew into multiple Demons at an unimaginable speed, taking many down, while the blonde women fired some kind of fire from her eyes, taking even more down.

"Did our prayers get answered or something?" Spike asked.

"They have the power of Gods. I can feel it. They are as powerful as the Old Ones, if not more", Illyria said.

"I feel really insignificant now", Angel muttered, seeing how powerful these people were.

Then a portal opened next to them and out walked a bearded man in a blue suit and red cape as he looked at them. "So you lot decided it was a good idea to take on 3 powerful interdimensional Demons without any plan beyond killing their instruments of evil? Well done."

"Who are you?" Angel asked.

"Doctor Strange, Sorcerer Supreme", Strange said as more portals opened all around them. A man in a suit flew out of one of them, firing beams at the Demons.

Another in a green and blue suit flew out and formed a green hammer, using it to hurl two giants away.

A man with metallic wings on his back and another man in a grey suit flew out as well, the winged man firing his guns while the suited man fired from a machine gun mounted on his back.

The Terminator flew out of another portal, firing from the turret in its hand as Gunn asked. "Is it just me or is that the Terminator fighting on our side?"

"It's the Terminator", Strange shrugged, making them drop their jaws.

"Is no one else gonna talk about the fact that the Terminator is flying and fighting on our side?" Spike asked the other three.

More portals opened as the Avengers, Earth-167 Justice League, Middle-earth residents, Scooby Gang, X-Men, Defenders, Runaways, Cloak and Dagger, Agents of SHIELD, Team Blade, Team Arrow and Team Flash arrived. Many Slayers from Earth-92 stepped out of portals too.

Jason Blood jumped out of one portal and walked to the Demons.

"Is that guy crazy or something?" Gunn muttered.

"Change! Change! O form of man! Free the prince forever damned! Free the might from fleshy mire! Boil the blood in the heart for fire! Gone! Gone! O form of man And rise the demon…"

He burned up and exploded as in his place now stood Etrigan, with his bright red suit and cape on the back.

"ETRIGAN!" He finished as Team Angel had dropped jaws again.

"Bloody Hell!" Spike muttered.

"Once more with words of hated rhyme, comes Etrigan the Slayer, just in time!"

He leapt at them, punching one Demon hard enough to knock his head away as Spike asked. "He always talk like that?"

"Yeah mate", Constantine said as he walked next to them.

"And I can see what he meant by 'hated rhyme'", Angel muttered.

Ghost Rider sped out on his bike on one portal, leaving a fiery trail behind him while running over Demons as Illyria said. "He has great power, given to him to punish the wicked."

Robbie also leapt out of another portal, twirling a chain.

Then Hulk leapt out of another portal and did a thunderclap, sending many more Demons flying off as Spike commented. "Blimey", summing up everyone's reaction on seeing him as Buffy, Faith, Willow, Xander, Dawn and Giles walked up next to them.

"Buffy", Angel greeted her.

"Buffy", Spike greeted too, a bit more carefully.

Buffy looked at them both, then punched Angel hard. "This is for being reckless with your fight against Wolfram and Hart, and making the Partners unleash their wrath on LA."

As Angel reeled, from the blow, Spike started. "See? She's got a swing for y-"

He was cut off when Buffy punched him too, making him reel as she said. "And this is for not telling me you have been alive for a year. I was mourning you!"

Spike instantly felt guilty, rubbing his face. "Buffy, I'm-"

"Don't!" She shook her head. "We will talk about this later, and sort it all out."

"All right then", Angel shrugged. "But I think there should be one punch in return too."

Buffy was shocked, wondering why Angel wanted to punch her, when he struck and punched Giles instead, sending him to the floor as his glasses fell off. "That was for Fred, you son of a bitch!"

"Fred?" Buffy asked, surprised, looking at Giles. "What is he talking about?"

As Giles staggered up, Spike pointed at Illyria and said. "When blue meanie here first took over Fred-"

Illyria glared at the name but Spike was unconcerned, for now. "Angel here called your old man to help out in saving Fred. Your old man first put 'em on hold, and then asked if we were still running Wolfram and Hart. When Angel said yes, he cut the call."

Buffy and Willow looked at Giles in shock as the former asked. "How could you?"

Giles staggered up. "Buffy I-"

"Don't say anything!" Buffy said.

"I could sense Illyria taking over", Willow said. "I went to the Astral plane to try and save Fred, but I failed."

Angel looked at her and Buffy gratefully. "I knew the two of you would help if you knew."

"I'm sorry Angel", Willow said.

"You tried, that's all that matters, which is not something I can say for someone else", Angel said as he gave Giles a withering look, who had the decency to look ashamed.

"You do realize you are speaking of me?" Illyria asked.

That was when Logan and Rogue arrived as the former asked. "Anyone in need of help?"

"Yes, him", Strange said as he pointed at Gunn.

"Was waiting for you to come", Constantine said as he touched Logan with one hand and Gunn with the other and chanted something.

Logan gasped as he felt some of his life force draining while Gunn felt himself heal and rejuvenate. Logan staggered back, dazed as he shook his head, while Gunn stood back up, his wounds gone now, and his bloodied shirt being the only indication they had been there.

"Damn! That's handy!" Gunn said before looking at them. "Thanks."

"Don't mention it", Logan shrugged as Old Lace ran next to them, leaping at a Demon and fighting it.

"That just me or did we see a dinosaur?" Angel asked.

Then suddenly there was a loud roar and Devil Dinosaur appeared, using his tail to whack away more bad guys.

"Not just you", Spike said.

"Damn! That one is bigger than ours!" Chase said, walking next to them with the rest of the Runaways as he fired his fistigons at a distance, hitting two Demons.

"Told ya", Logan shrugged.

Chase then turned to them and his eyes widened in shock on seeing Spike, and so did that of the other Runaways.

"Dad?" Chase said.

"Oh bloody hell!" Spike rolled his eyes. "I am not your father, boy. Vampires can't have kids", he gestured to Angel. "Other than him that is."

"Chase!" Karolina said to him. "He must be your dad's doppelganger."

"Doppelganger, eh", Spike muttered, not knowing how that was possible. "Name's Spike. Nice to meet you."

"My dad's doppelganger is a Vampire!" Chase said, finding it weird.

"One with a soul, if that makes you feel better", Spike smirked.

"Hey! I am a Vampire with a soul too, and I had it before it became cool", Angel added, making Buffy roll her eyes at how they were trying to outperform each other.

Arrows from Legolas and Ollie took down several more as Barry-Red, Bart and Pietro sped around, using knives to take down more Demons.

A batarang from Knight exploded on a Demon's face, taking him down as Wonder Woman pushed one back with her shield and sliced him down, while gunshots rang out as Frank and Deathstroke fired from a corner.

"You have made some really interesting friends", Angel said to Buffy.

John Jones flew down next to them and said. "I think we can end this if we act fast."

"At least this wave", Spike agreed.

"And it's great to have impossibly powerful people on our side for once", Angel said.

"I know right?" Buffy asked as all of them charged together to take out their foes.

Logan unleashed his flaming claws and with an animalistic roar, leapt at the Demons, slicing them into bits due to the added powers his claws had.

Angel and Spike dueled enemies side by side with their swords, their movements in perfect sync with each other, while Buffy sliced a Demon near them.

"So, Spike, why didn't you tell me?" Buffy asked.

"Can we talk about it later?" Spike asked, striking a Demon hard.

"We did look for you in Rome", Angel said, taking out a Demon in a spin motion. "What did you see in the Immortal?"

"I am not dating the Immortal!" Buffy yelled angrily, slicing 3 Demons simultaneously. Andrew really needed to be punched, and her decoys needed a nice reality check.

"She's in a bad mood right now, don't piss her off", Faith warned Angel, kicking a Demon away.

"Good to see you too, Faith", Angel said as he punched a Demon back.

Marc got behind a Demon in a spin motion and grabbed his neck in a chokehold before snapping it. "Not been in a fight this good since Dormammu."

"We can have an even better one later", Faith said, giving him a wink as Buffy, Angel and Spike groaned in discomfort.

The Dragon roared at them and breathed down flames when Steve flew in the way and formed a barrier with his Ring, gritting his teeth while the Dragon stopped.

Kal then fired freeze breath at it as it fired a jet of flames again, both trying to overpower each other.

Illyria managed to slice down multiple Demons simultaneously, Gunn taking down two nearby as Arwen sliced down 3 more near them.

"You are not human, Slayer, or Demon, but you do not seem to be a God either", Illyria said, looking Arwen up and down. "What manner of creature are you?"

"Elf", Arwen shrugged, though she really didn't like being called a 'creature.' "And do not call me a 'creature.'"

"Damn!" Gunn said, looking at Arwen in shock and then noticing her ears. "And here I thought Elves were short matchmakers of Santa. Glad to be proven wrong for once."

As more charged them, Daisy fired her blasts, throwing them back while Bobbi punched another, sending him down with her Slayer strength, and Lance and Mack fired, with May engaging a Demon and striking it at precise points, taking it down in spite of its superior strength.

Oliver landed near them with Sara and Roy and the two fired arrows, the former's being enchanted. Oliver's arrow exploded into flames, killing some Demons while Roy's exploded and sent some Demons back, and Sara struck one hard on the face with her staff, making it fly off and fall down.

Daisy, Melinda and Oliver then all looked at Gunn weirdly.

"You look like you've seen a ghost". Gunn said to all three of them.

"That's what the last guy said", Oliver sighed, remembering Deathlok, who had also been Mr. Blanks' doppelganger, and this guy was too.

Melinda was also looking at Illyria weirdly, which she noted. "You seem to know my face, though you did not know my shell."

"Long story", Melinda said, remembering Audrey Nathan, Coulson's former cellist girlfriend, who had been unaware of Coulson's resurrection before his second death. It was unfair, Melinda thought to herself.

Well, unfair or not, they had a fight to finish. With that, all of them joined the fight again.

Kal had managed to overpower the Dragon and landed next to Steve, Buffy, Angel, Spike, Faith and Marc when Wanda flew and landed next to him. "Wait!"

"What?" Kal asked her.

"It is not in its senses", Wanda said about the Dragon. "It has been brainwashed."

"Brainwashed Dragon, sounds like the start of a joke", Spike said, and then Kal looked at him weirdly, his jaw dropped again as he looked a bit uncomfortable.

"What, I am your father too?" Spike asked. "I feel like Darth Vader now."

"No, you just look like someone who did things to me", Kal said before he realized what he had said. "And it's not what it sounds like."

"Good things or bad things?" Spike asked.

"Both", Kal told him.

"Sounds like me all right", Spike gave a smirk.

"Well, I think the Dragon needs help then", Steve said.

That was when Merlin appeared next to them with Lena.

"You called, Wanda?" Merlin asked, as she had called him telepathically.

"Remember when you helped Devil Dinosaur?" Wanda asked and he nodded, and then she gestured to the Dragon. "Can you do the same for him?"

"Sure, this is actually much easier", Merlin said as he held up his hand, using his Dragon speak, as the Dragon looked down at him and roared, before flying down, lowering its head to him, while Merlin smiled.

"Okay, that was actually cool", Faith said as Angel patted the Dragon's head. "Who's a good boy, huh?"

"Meet your new friend", Buffy quipped to Angel as he chuckled.

"Can I do that too?" Lena asked.

"No, only Dragon Lords can, Morgana wasn't one", Merlin said. "But you can do a lot of other stuff."

Arthur landed next to them too as Spike asked him and Merlin. "Who the bloody hell are you? And where were you lot this whole time, having tea?!"

Merlin shared an amused smirk with the former King. "I'm Merlin, and this Arthur Pendragon."...

It took Spike a second to process that info.

"Merlin..." he said looking at the warlock, who nodded, then moved to look at the more muscular blonde. "King Arthur..." He stayed with a dumb expression before asking, "...should I kneel?"

"Not a King anymore so not necessary", Arthur shrugged.

Tess then fired some cyclones at two more giant Demons, sending them back, while Thor, Aragorn and Kara hovered in the air together.

"There still seem to be many", Kara said. "Clark!"

Kal flew back up. "Yes!"

"I think we need to work fast to destroy them all" Thor said.

Aragorn twirled Mjolnir. "Come, let us destroy them."

That was when the Dragon flew next to them and fired at the Demons, making them screech as they backed off, howling in pain and agony.

"Okay, that was unexpected", Thor said.

"Pay more attention", Kara chuckled.

"Come on", Kal said as the four flew off to slaughter the enemies, while Storm hovered in the air above and called down powerful lightning and winds, striking and killing more of them.

"Can you lend me some?" Willow asked, flying next to her.

"Sure", Storm nodded, firing lightning at Willow who manipulated and controlled it herself and added some fire, before hurling them all at some Giant Demons, destroying them all.

Same time, Wolfram and Hart

The building was in ruins, and Eve's mangled body lay there, crushed by the debris, and many feet away laid Hamilton's broken body too.

Then suddenly Hamilton's eyes glowed red and his neck snapped back into place, and he took off into the air.

Boromir took down a Demon before bashing another away, and sliced a third down when another pushed him down. Before it could strike again, and arrow protruded from its neck, and it fell down to reveal Nyssa lowering her bow.

She gave Boromir a hand as he said. "Thank you for your aid, my Lady."

"Nyssa will do", Nyssa said to him.

"Call me Boromir", Boromir told her as they shared a look and battled more Demons together.

The Demons roared at Blade, who simply looked up at them with a smirk. "Fuck yeah."

He then fired with his gun, taking many down while spinning and slicing more down with his sword, as Jenson punched one down and kicked another away before firing herself, and Whistler fired at some too.

Bucky and Natasha fought opponents in perfect coordination, using their superhuman strength, hand-to-hand skills, guns, and Vibranium arm and Widow's Bite respectively.

"You noticed I can keep up with you now?" Natasha asked naughtily as she snapped a Demon's neck.

"Yeah, feels good", Bucky told her as he punched a Demon hard, breaking its neck as well.

The Demons had almost been dealt with now when suddenly Hamilton flew in and sent many of the Slayers flying off with simple punches. Violet and Satsu charged him together but he grabbed them both and tossed them to the ground.

Kennedy struck his face and he glared at her before tossing her down too. As he walked past her, she grabbed his leg. He turned to her in anger and punched her face hard, breaking her neck as she fell down, dead.

Buffy, Faith and Marc charged him together but he smacked them all away too before lifting Angel by the throat, making him gasp, and then slammed him to the ground angrily, punching him multiple times as he spat out blood and was dazed.

Parker swung at Hamilton in his black suit but he was tossed down too as Hamilton got up and marched to him. He spoke in 3 voices now. "It has been millennia since such great powers have stood against us. However, none of you will stop us. You can defeat an army, but we are eternal. The Wolf, The Ram and The Heart. You shall not stop the Apocalypse. It will destroy you."

Parker staggered back up as Hamilton grabbed him by the throat and lifted him up, glaring at him.

Suddenly, Parker's vision went dark and he felt like he had frozen. He had no idea what was going on.

Then his vision came back and he saw he was on the ground again and Hamilton was staggering back, gasping in pain as something in blood's place now poured out of him, and he had a giant, major cut, from his abdomen right up to his head, from where the not-blood was pouring out.

He let out a scream and exploded into bits, as Parker wondered what had just happened.

Parker then looked around and the Demons were mostly done for.

Angel lay on the ground, dazed, as the Dragon looked down at him in what looked like concern.

"Angel! Angel!"

Angel turned to see Cordelia kneeling near him in concern as she held his face. "Hey! Let me see!"

"Cordelia….." Angel trailed off, happy she was going to treat his wounds. "Cordelia….."

The Dragon looked confused, wondering who Angel was talking to. Was Angel talking to him? So his own name was Cordelia, the Dragon realized. Got it!

And we're done with this. Much shorter than the last one, but hope it was epic nonetheless.

While I understand why Angel did what he did, it was still reckless and put the entire LA in danger, considering the Senior Partners banished LA to a Hell Dimension in 'After The Fall', so he got a punch. And Spike got a punch for not telling Buffy he was alive.

As for Giles, he was the best in Buffy Seasons 1-3 (counting out 3x12), and in Seasons 4 and 5, he wasn't as good as before but still good enough. In Season 6 they didn't do much with him other than the amazing "I'm just standing in your way" and the epic "I'd like to test that theory", while in Season 7, they kinda ruined him IMO, with the entire Spike thing.

But his worst sin came in Angel Season 5 when Angel called, asking for help in saving Fred, but he acted all self-righteous since Team Angel was running Wolfram and Hart, and cut the call, because I am 100% sure Buffy and Willow would help Angel if they knew, their current opinion on him notwithstanding.

So Giles deserved a punch, and much worse.

Hope the doppelganger reactions were enjoyed, as well as the introduction of Cordelia the Dragon. Merlin's Dragon speak came in handy here.

Anyone can guess what happened with Peter Parker? *Winks*
