Chapter 15:
Sharp-teeth Are Coming!
Meanwhile, on the hilltop, while the herd is still asleep, Ubinasfi watches Uhuru and Mfalme with an unpleasant look until a voice called out to him.
" Ubinasfi!" yelled the voice.
Ubinasfi turns to see Uaminifu who is now heavily injured and covered with gashes, including a large wound on his left hind leg. " Uaminifu, what happened to you?" asked Ubinasfi, " Sharp-teeth!" replied Uaminifu, " What?! That's impossible," said Ubinasfi as he got up, " The earthquake must've driven them out," said Uaminifu as he grunted in pain.
Then a distant howling roar was heard as Ubinasfi lifts up as Uaminifu looks back. The roar sounded like it came from a few miles away. " You lead them right to us! MAYBE YOU SHOULD FEED THEM WITH YOUR HIDE! Move the herd out, double time!" yelled Ubinasfi as he heads out, Uaminifu felt betrayed but he remained silent and whinnies out. The herd woke up and saw Ubinasfi heading out as he whinnies. Without a moment to think, the herd quickly got up and hurries off. Uhuru and Mfalme soon noticed this.
" What's happening?" asked Uhuru.
" Ubinasfi's moving the herd," said Mfalme as she and Uhuru rushed over..
Ubinasfi watches the herd on a ledge as the herd hurries off.
" Ubinasfi, what's going on?" asked Mfalme.
" Sharp-teeth. If we don't keep going they'll catch up to us," said Ubinasfi.
" But my friends in the back...they'll never make it," said Uhuru.
" But they'll slow down the Sharp-teeths," said Ubinasfi coldly.
" But they've worked so hard to get here!" said Uhuru angrily as he rushed over next to Ubinasfi.
Then Uhuru said " Hold it! That could be you out there! Or you!".
Ubinasfi aggressively snarled as he charged towards Uhuru and threw him off his feet and stood over him.
" If you ever interfere again. I'll kill you," said Ubinasfi threatening Uhuru.
Ubinasfi then snarled as he heads off. Uhuru breathed heavily as he starts getting up as Mfalme went to him to help him up. But Ubinasfi soon noticed and said " Stay away from the outsider!".
Then Ubinasfi snarled as he got between Uhuru and Mfalme and shoves Mfalme as they headed off and Uhuru was hit in the face by Ubinasfi's tail. Uhuru growled and was about to charge but Mfalme stopped him and said " Uhuru, no. You and your friends go. I'll be okay,". Uhuru wanted to go after them but he sighed and turns to hurry to his friends.
" Let's go! Let's go! Sharp-teeth!" yelled Uhuru as he runs to his friends.
" Sharp-teeths!? But that's impossible," said One-ton as he got up surprised.
" They must've survive the earthquake. And if they survived, let's get out of here quick!" said Bulldozer as he got up and hurries off.
" Come on, you guys. Hurry! We're gonna get left behind," said Uhuru as he then quickly ran off.
Trya hurries on her feet as Bulldozer and One-ton slowly walk off and Mabawa begins to fly along with Uhuru.
" Let's go hurry up! We're losing them!" yelled Uhuru as he keeps running.
Mabawa gasped as she flew closer to Uhuru and said " Uhuru, you need to slow down,".
Uhuru was near the herd as he came to a stop and saw his friends moving as quick as they can. Struck with dilemma, Uhuru didn't want to leave them nor lose the herd. Uhuru then looks over to the herd as they started to disappear behind the ridge and Ubinasfi and Mfalme walking off as Mfalme looked back to him. Uhuru sigh in defeat, for the first time in his life, he felt his heart has split in two ways. Then Uhuru turns to his friends as they hurried over as Uhuru waited.
