Good Evening,

I hope you guys enjoy the chapter.

Oxford Not Brogues

Chapter Nine

Even though she had a really fun night, Seras felt relief when her friends started stumbling out of her flat to head home. They weren't so rowdy anymore. In fact, they all looked down right miserable and sick to their stomachs after drinking so hard. The only sober one present was Elena who promised to drive everyone home in Rachel's car. The small blonde sighed after she said her last goodbyes to everyone. She then closed the door and turned to see that her friends left quite a bit of a mess in her living room, dining room, and kitchen. The mess wasn't awful; it just looked like a drunken toddler had run amok through her flat. Cards, fake money, and Monopoly pieces littered the floor. Someone had knocked over the board and hadn't bothered to clean it up after. Dining room chairs surrounded the coffee table with a pillow and a throw blanket resting on the floor where Brianna and Simon had sat. There were empty and partially empty glasses and bowls lying about in every room, besides her bedroom. And someone had spilled crisps and pretzels all over the dining room table and floor.

Alucard and Sebastian sat ever so calmly on the sofa where they have stayed put for most of the night. They didn't particularly like her friends, but they would tolerate those fools any night for their mate. Both males were anxious. Her guests had finally left and Seras had promised that once they were alone they would pick things back up where they left them in the restroom. Alucard and Sebastian still had no idea what that entailed. Did Seras still want to be turned into a vampire? Or did she just want to go back to messing around? The tired looking human ignored the mess for now as she wandered over to the couch. Without a word, she dropped into the empty seat between them and leaned far back into the cushions of the couch with another sigh of exhaustion. She then just sat there and stared at the mess before her. She had no motivation to clean it. Perhaps it would be a chore she would save for tomorrow. Then again, it would be nice to just do it now and get it out of the way so she could go to bed without having this mess on her mind.

"I know that you guys didn't really have a good time." Seras broke that silence, but she didn't really bother looking at either of them. Sebastian shifted his head a little to glance down at her. "But thank you for staying and dealing with my friends, especially for dealing with Vixen." A small frown formed on her lips. "I'm sorry if she embarrassed you guys at all for the things she said in front of everyone."

"We weren't embarrassed." Sebastian assured her. The small blonde subconsciously nodded her head in understanding.

"Good," She murmured. Alucard turned his head to flash a grin at his little mate, though she still wasn't looking at either of them.

"It wasn't all that bad." The vampire purred before he slyly rested a hand on Seras' thigh. The little human jumped before her eyes flickered downward to look at his hand. A second later, a bashful smile swept across her face and she blushed before looking up at Alucard.

"No, I guess it wasn't all bad." She whispered in agreement. Her hand slipped over his. His skin was ice cold, but it never truly bothered the small blonde. The two stared at each other for a long several seconds until she broke the silence again. "Everyone is gone," She reminded them softly. "Do we…go back…to what we were doing? Or…are you guys tired?" Alucard and Sebastian were both so quick to shake their heads.

"No," The vampire answered as he lightly squeezed her thigh.

"Are you tired, Seras?" Sebastian asked her with a brow arched. The little human licked over her lips nervously before she lightly shook her head.

"No," Seras whispered. The small blonde pushed off the couch to rise to her unimpressive height. She then turned to smile warmly at the elder creatures. "Come on; let's go to the bedroom this time. We'll be far more comfortable there."

"Are you absolutely sure that you wish to continue?" Alucard asked her carefully while he got up from his spot on the couch.

"Why do you keep asking me that, Alucard?" Seras asked him curiously. "My mind hasn't changed."

"Does it truly not scare you?" Sebastian asked as he finally rose from the couch to stand next to her. The shy blonde lowered her head, but that smile still never fell from her face.

"Well, of course, I'm a little nervous and I've heard it's…a bit uncomfortable at first." The small blonde told them. Alucard frowned at those particular words. He didn't want to discourage his bride from becoming a vampire, but the transformation was going to more than uncomfortable; it was going to be painful. But, again, he didn't want to discourage her.

"That is true, but afterwards, when you wake, you'll be purely fine. It won't hurt anymore. In fact, you'll feel brand new." Alucard assured her, causing her smile to widen.

"That sounds lovely," She responded with a warm look in her eyes as she stared up at him. Seras then gave a small nod of her head. "I'm ready," She whispered. The vampire raised a brow.

"Are you positive?" He asked her once more. "Seras, there's no turning back after. You have to be sure." The girl merely giggled at how overprotective and caring he was for what she could only assume were her feelings towards her virginity. She stood up on her tip toes and wrapped her arms around his neck.

"I'm ready, Alucard. I don't want to wait anymore. I want to be with you and Sebastian. I know it will hurt at first, but I also know that you both will make me feel so alive too. Honestly, I'm eager." She practically purred while giving him a flirtatious little smirk. "I hope to make you feel alive too." She whispered before she tried tempting him by kissing him softly on the lips. She had to start to wonder if Alucard and Sebastian were the nervous ones. They were acting far more afraid about sex than she was, and that bewildered her. Weren't they used to seducing women? Why were they so nervous about it around her? Though, admittedly, the thought was endearing to her. She kind of liked taking charge and seducing them, and it was probably new to them as well. "Alucard," Seras whispered his name as she kissed him again on the lips. He wasn't responding to any of her kisses, but she didn't really mind. He stood so stiffly in her arms and just stared at her in pure disbelief. "I'm ready," Finally, the vampire made a move. Alucard hesitantly wrapped an arm around her lower back and he pulled her forward so her body was fully pressed up against his.

"Michaelis and I, we're overjoyed with what you've decided. We want you to be with us…forever." He whispered. The vampire leaned down, passing her lips to meet with her throat. He brushed his cool lips over her hot skin. Seras willingly tilted her head back to enjoy the feel of his lips on her. He kissed tenderly over her bite wound. "I'm glad you feel the same as we do." A grin swept across his face as he kissed deeper into her flesh. "I was beginning to wonder if you'll ever let me turn you." Hearing those words, Seras' heart jolted in her chest and her eyes flew open wide. But Alucard had already driven his fangs deep into her throat. The small blonde was utterly confused. Her heart was racing hard in her chest, and even though she was frozen in Alucard's arms, she was fully panicking on the inside. What did he mean about turning her? How did he even come to that conclusion that she wanted to be turned? The girl was so stunned, so speechless, that she couldn't even think properly. She just let him drink her blood. His arms tightened around her body, bringing her closer.

"Alucard," Seras whispered when she finally found her voice. Then, very suddenly, all her energy came rushing back and the panic set in her adrenaline. She closed her eyes tightly before she gripped Alucard's arms tightly. "Alucard, no!" Their little mate shouted. She became a wild thing in his arms. Her body squirmed. She dug her fingers tightly into his arms while she used her other hand to shove him hard in the shoulder. "Stop!" She cried out, concerning both males. Alucard was so quick to stop. He withdrew his fangs and stood up right to stare down at his hyperventilating bride. The panic was clear as day in her eyes and her face was so white from fright. Seeing how scared she was, and seeing that scared look directed towards him, Alucard cautiously unraveled his arms from around her. He was dumbfounded from that look in her eyes; that same look she gave when she first met them. It pained his ancient heart and, thoughtlessly, he took a couple of steps back away from her.

The vampire and demon were so very confused and were both heartbroken. She had said that she wasn't scared, that she was even eager, and that she didn't plan on changing her mind. But as soon as the vampire planted his fangs in her neck she started screaming to be released. It bothered them the way their bride kept acting, like they were monsters who wanted to hurt her. They loved her to death, they would never hurt her. Why couldn't she understand that? Seras took a minute to calm herself down. She let her breathing even out as she stared up at them, looking so confused and startled still. The small blonde cupped her neck. It was still warm and bleeding from him feasting on her. She drew her hand back to look at the blood smeared over her palm, but she wasn't entirely worried about it at the moment. Their mate glanced back up at them and when they saw that the fear had passed they felt a little more at ease, but not entirely.

"I'm sorry," Alucard and Seras said simultaneously, stunning both of them when hearing the other say it. The vampire's eyes widened a little and he blinked stupidly at her. She was sorry?

"Alucard," Seras whispered, but she trailed off when she couldn't find the right thing to say. She groaned lightly under her breath and licked over lips. "I…" She felt bad. Alucard and Sebastian were supposedly really excited because they thought she wanted to become a vampire. Somehow, along the way, they got their signals crossed and misunderstood what the other person was saying. It suddenly made sense to her why they kept asking her why she wasn't scared and if she was sure she wanted this. She had thought they were referring to sex, but they thought she meant a transformation. Even though it was a mistake on both sides, she felt terrible making them believe that she…wanted to be turned into a vampire. Until now, it hadn't crossed Seras' mind at all wanting to become a vampire or even thinking about becoming one. But…she supposed it was a subject that needed to be discussed if…she wanted to have…a serious relationship with Alucard and Sebastian both. Seras sighed deeply through her nose before she glanced back up at the males. "I'm sorry," She repeated. "Putting your hopes up like that was unintentional. I didn't know…you meant…" Uncomfortable about the conversation they were having…or she was having, the small blonde glanced elsewhere. "I thought…we were…talking about…sex." Alucard and Sebastian both looked at her in bewilderment.

"Of course," The demon muttered under his breath as he stared at his mate. Suddenly, everything she had said, all of her little signals and all the moves she made, it was quite obvious what she wanted. They, of course, had thought about starting a sexual relationship with Seras but after she became a vampire. "You told us that you thought about it. We mistook what you said and believed you meant becoming a vampire."

"I know," Seras agreed with a light nod of her head. "I thought we were talking about sex."

"No," Alucard responded softly. He was deeply disappointed with the way this night was going. After Seras had told them that she was 'ready' and they misunderstood her meaning, he and Michaelis were enthralled. Now all that excitement had been shot down in a matter of seconds. He thought that Seras was finally ready to become a vampire, to become their bride, but he was wrong. "I reminded you that we weren't human."

"Yes," Seras agreed once more. She finally looked back up at them. A small frown had formed on her lips and such disappointment and confusion glistened in her eyes. "But, again, I thought we were talking about sex. I thought you guys were worried about hurting me or that I would be against sleeping with you guys because of what you are. I misunderstood."

"But so did we," Sebastian quickly added. "We thought you wanted to become a vampire."

"I was trying to tell you." Alucard proceeded. He felt frustrated with the whole situation, but he didn't really know if that frustration was centered on Seras or the misunderstanding. He knew perfectly well it wasn't her fault because he and Michaelis also misunderstood the entire situation. But he couldn't help but blame her for putting his hopes up like that. For a good hour or two, he believed that Seras was going to be a vampire by the end of the night and that they would finally mate. "Seras," The vampire whispered as he gazed at his mate.

"I'm sorry, Alucard." Seras spoke softly while lightly shaking her head. She looked so hurt and guilty that it actually bothered Alucard to see her like that. He knew how bad she felt and…he started feeling guilty as well for being frustrated with her in the first place. "I didn't mean to do that to you and Sebastian." Her gaze then lowered and her frown deepened. "But…I guess…this is a good time to talk about it, right? So we don't get our signals crossed again?"

"Will you ever commit to becoming a vampire?" Alucard asked her outright. The girl stood there for several seconds as she let that question sink in. Their mate didn't bother looking at them while she thought it over. She continued to stare at the floor with her hand still cupping her bleeding neck. So the monsters silently stood there and watched her ever so carefully. They let their fear seep deep into their stomach and let their sorrow weight heavily on their hearts. Quite a few negative thoughts passed through their heads, like 'what now?'. It appeared to them that Seras was giving up on them; giving up the future she could have with them. Suddenly, a life they could have with this beautiful woman was flashing before their eyes because it was all being taken away from them so very fast. Seras will never become a vampire. She will never mate with them. They will never move into that manor they had so carefully restored or even made a home in another country. They will never have children with her.

Children. Children had never interested Alucard or Sebastian. But now all they could see were the faces of their sons and daughters that could be theirs and Seras'. They could just imagine those little undead monsters now. Round faces, big blue eyes, soft yellow hair, just like their mother. God, they hoped that they were just as sweet and goodhearted as their mother too. On the other hand, a little devil of a child with dark hair, blue eyes, and was full of such spirit and fire, like them. But these children were only a fantasy. Because of their mate's decision, they will never get to live a life with Seras and have children with her. Needless to say, this tore them up on the inside. Why was it so hard for them to have, what some would call, a happy ending? Why was it ultimately hard for them to find true happiness? Even when they found their mate, something that should lead to an everlasting, satisfying relationship, and they still don't get their happy ending. Why this their eternal punishment? Constantly having to struggle through life, being feared by all and hated?

Feared and hated, it didn't bother them whatsoever. But to have their mate fear and hate them? That they couldn't stand for. That was pure hell. Just one person on this earth; that's all they wanted was one person that wasn't afraid to come near them, to touch them, to look at them, to speak to them, etc. They just wanted their mate's acceptance. They wanted her love; they wanted a life with her. But she was taking it all away from them from one little decision. After a long moment, the girl pulled back her head to look at them. Those big blue eyes were full of uncertainty, but also adoration. She smiled warmly at them. Alucard and Sebastian pulled away from those depressing thoughts as they looked back at their mate. They already knew the answer she was going to give judging by that look in her eyes. That look was a silent apology for the words that she was about to speak.

"I…really like you guys." She assured them with a light shrug. It was no way reassuring however. Those words, while she may not have meant it to be, were like a stab to the heart. She was acting like a school girl with a crush whilst they were madly in love with her. It was a little aggravating how naïve she was being towards her feelings and theirs. "But…becoming a vampire is life changing. I don't want to become a vampire only to regret my decision later." The monsters could only stand there and stare at her. Those words echoed in their heads, forcing them to hear it over and over again. Realization was quick to set in. She would never be theirs, will she? The small smile slipped from her face. From that look in their eyes, it was more than obvious to her that they were dissatisfied by that answer and were feeling dejected and rejected.

"Then there's nothing else to say is there?" Alucard sighed after a moment of silence. His red eyes flickered to the side, wanting his gaze off of her so she couldn't read any more of his emotions. Was this it then? They spent two months trying to win her over only for her to tell them that she doesn't see a future at all with them? What now? Did Michaelis and he respect her wishes and let her go? Do they return to the dead manor without their mate and live out their long lasting lives while Seras grows old and dies? His eyes burned darkly from that thought and his fingers curled into a fist. She was liable to grow old with another man, have that man's children, and settle living 'happily' alongside that man. This infuriated him. He couldn't stand the thought of his bride settling for a man that wasn't even her mate; for someone that would only make her half as happy as they would make her. It sickened him that she would love someone else.

Alucard was greatly tempted to turn Seras right then and there rather she was willing or not. If she hated him for it then so be it. He had all of eternity to beg for her forgiveness. Before that temptation could provoke him to turn Seras, he felt a hand creep into his. The vampire jolted slightly with a soft gasp. He turned his head to look back at his bride. Such a wide, warm smile greeted him while those big blue orbs of her practically glowed with happiness. She was holding his hand along with Sebastian's. Her thumbs stroked over the back of their hands, trying to soothe them of their anger and pain.

"There is so much more that needs to be said, Alucard." Seras spoke. "Just because I'm not ready now doesn't mean that I won't be ready in the future." Her smile widened when she saw the look of shock and relief flash across their faces.

"You're not making us leave you?" Alucard asked her outright, not even thinking about the question he was asking her. His free hand swept up instantly to cup the side of her face. His thumb brushed along her soft cheek as all that anger and pain vanished from within him. He was so relieved to hear those words. His mate wanted to stay with them.

"No," The small blonde answered with a chuckle and she shook her head. "I want you guys to stay."

"That is really reassuring to hear." Sebastian muttered as he cupped the other side of her face.

"I really like you guys and…I want time to let those feelings grow before I decide anything about becoming a vampire. Okay?" Seras whispered, hoping that they will be happy with the choice she made.

"Yes," The demon breathed before he leaned down to kiss the corner of her mouth. The small blonde smiled so brightly as Sebastian placed kisses all over the side of her face. She could tell how happy he was by her decision and that she wasn't forcing them out of her life. "I am deeply sorry for the misunderstanding, Seras. We never meant to scare you or make you feel like we were pushing you towards something you didn't want."

"It's okay, Sebastian." His bride whispered. Alucard was only capable of standing there, gaping at the two as they rejoiced. "I'm fine, and it was just a small misunderstanding. We worked through it just fine. No hard feelings, right?"

"None at all," The demon purred as his lips connected with hers to form a hard, but scorching kiss.

"Hold on," Alucard interrupted as he grabbed Sebastian by the shoulder and pulled him back. A look of disappointment flashed across Seras' face when the demon's lips were forced away from hers. She glanced back up at the males with a frown on her face and a look of curiosity in her eyes.

"What's wrong?" The small blonde asked as she cutely cocked her head to the side.

"There's still so much more that we have to discuss." The vampire added.

"Like what?" Seras questioned with furrowed brows.

"What needs to be discussed?" Sebastian snickered. The demon had such a wide smirk on his face and a gleam in his eyes. He was so ecstatic that he was being ignorant towards a very serious matter. "Seras wants to be with us…" Before he could continue, Alucard interrupted.

"Exactly, Seras wants to be with us." The vampire announced as he glanced at the demon in irritation. How could Michaelis be so forgetful? Just because Seras agreed to stay with them didn't mean that all of their problems were solved. Alucard glanced back at his small bride. "For the majority of this night, you've been planning to sleep with us." Instantly, the girl's eyes widened and a faint blush appeared on her cheeks. In a matter of seconds, a bashful smile took place on her lips.

"Yes," She giggled, still acting so much like a schoolgirl in love. Alucard wasn't so amused though. He arched a brow at his mate.

"Do you still wish to share that form of intimacy with us?" He asked her. The smile on her face widened and without saying a word she nodded her head. Alucard sighed before he shifted his head to look back at the demon. It appeared Sebastian finally caught on to why the No Life King was still concerned about their situation. The smirk was long gone from the demon's face as he just gazed at his mate in disbelief. Seeing that the men weren't as excited as she was, her smile faltered and she gave them a worried expression.

"What's wrong?" She asked. When neither of them gave her answer, she drew away from them a little while her face paled. "Do…you guys…not want to?" Alucard glanced at her from the corner of his eye.

"Are you mad?" The vampire snickered a second later. A grin cracked his face then. "Are you honestly thinking that we wouldn't want to have sex with our mate?"

"We want to, Seras." Sebastian sighed. "We really do, but…we can't." The smile was completely gone from her face now.

"What? How come?" Seras asked softly. The vampire faced her once more as the grin slipped from his lips. Instinctively, he reached out to cup the side of her face lovingly.

"It all depends on what you want to do, Seras." Alucard told her carefully, earning a stunned look from the demon.

"Alucard?" Michaelis spoke. "Are you suggesting what I think you're suggesting?" But the vampire ignored him. Instead, he stared deeply into those sapphire blue eyes of his mate.

"What do you mean?" She whispered. She looked ever so calm and yet incredibly vulnerable to him as she stared up at him.

"Do you wish to have sex with us right now?" Alucard asked with a crooked grin. His thumb brushed along her cheek in a distracting manner, but she didn't really seem to mind.

"Mhm," The girl hummed with a slight nod of her head. "Yes," The vampire then sighed heavily as a look crossed over his face that she was unable to decipher.

"Then, in the future, if you wish to be turned it must be done by Michaelis. However, I must warn you, being transformed by a demon is far harder than being transformed normally by a vampire." The vampire responded. Shockingly, their girl didn't show fear at all in her eyes. Instead, she still held such a curious look with such a calm demeanor.

"I don't understand." Seras admitted to him. "Why wouldn't you be able to turn me, Alucard?"

"Unfortunately, only vampires can turn those who are virgins. If you wish to lay with us, you will be giving up your virginity. Thankfully, though, Michaelis does have the power to transform you; after all, he's the one who gifted me with vampirism." Alucard explained, but his mate only looked more confused by the second. So many questions ran through Seras' head. Why could only virgins be turned into vampires? How did Sebastian have the power to give vampirism? And did he really turn Alucard into a vampire? But she only asked one question that weighed on her mind the most.

"Why would it be harder than if you were to turn me?" Seras asked him.

"If I were to turn you, the transformation would relatively be simple but quite excoriating. After giving you my blood to complete the transformation, you would be awake as your heart died slowly in your chest. The process would last for several minutes. But, when a demon turns a human into something demonic it's another story. When Michaelis gives you his blood, you won't turn immediately like you would if I were to turn you." The vampire answered.

"Why?" Seras interrupted with a question.

"Because when a vampire bites someone, he drains them of most of their blood. That alone is enough to put someone at death's door. The blood given is a tipping point. It kills the person but helps transform them into something more." Alucard proceeded. "When it comes time for you to become a vampire, Sebastian will give you his blood. But in order for you to become a vampire, you'll have to die. This part is considered hard for you because there is a decision you have to make, Seras. Will you kill yourself to be with us?" The small blonde's eyes immediately widened when he asked her that.

"Wh-what?" She whispered in disbelief.

"I'm sorry, that's the way it has to be. You'll have to die in order to become a vampire." Alucard spoke softly as the grin fell from his face. "It can be an easy death if you so wish." He whispered, hoping to soothe his mate as he continued to brush his thumb over her pale cheek. "If you want, you don't have to take your life. We can assist you."

"Alucard, stop scaring her." Sebastian lectured him as he slapped his hand away from her face. Alucard remotely didn't care that the demon had smacked his hand away. It hadn't occurred to him that he had been frightening his mate. But now focusing his gaze on her, he could see the fear clear as day in her eyes. "Seras, that isn't a way you have to go. It can be simple if you let Alucard turn you. We don't have to have sex right now." The demon assured her, but her terrified eyes were still glued to Alucard. "Seras?" The small blonde jumped when hearing her name. She blinked several times before glancing up at Sebastian. They could hear her heart racing.

"Hold on," Seras whispered. They could see that she was having trouble breathing, probably from having a panic attack. Her gaze shifted to the floor. Her chest moved up and down heavily.

"I'm sorry for being so blunt." Alucard muttered. God, he hoped he hadn't talked her out of it. What will he do if he scared Seras out of becoming a vampire?

"Just a second," The small blonde murmured as she tried catching her breath. "My mind is just…racing." Seras placed her head in her hands as she tried sorting out everything they just told her. "I just…I don't understand. If I stay a virgin, Alucard can turn me but the transformation will be slow and painful. But if I don't stay a virgin, Sebastian can turn me but I have to find a way to kill myself to become a vampire? Or get one of you two to kill me in order to become a vampire?" Alucard and Sebastian nodded their heads in agreement despite her not looking at them to see it.

"Yes," The vampire breathed. "The death can be swift depending on which way you wish to do it." Seras' hand slid down her face to look back up at the males. She no longer looked scared, much to their relief, but she did look sick to her stomach and still so very confused.

"Do you wish to stop talking about this, Seras?" Sebastian asked her, but the girl automatically waved her hand in dismissal.

"No, no, no." She muttered and then she folded her arms over her chest. "I want to hear more about this."

"Are you sure? You look upset." The demon sighed.

"I'm fine," Seras said, but that didn't sound very reassuring to either male. "Please, just continue. This is something we need to talk about." When neither of them refused to give her further information, she sighed in frustration. "Look, I already said that I want to have a more serious relationship with the both of you. Just because you told me something that might happen if I decide to become a vampire doesn't mean that I'm changing my mind staying with you two. Just tell me. We need to discuss this. It's better now than explaining it on the spot when it has to happen."

"Very well," Sebastian muttered before he lowered his head in defeat. "If you wish to go the route where I turn you, we must find a way for you to die. Preferably, a way you can die easily and pain free." Seras gulped nervously. She really didn't like this conversation, but it was a serious discussion that needed tending to.

"Suggestions?" She barely managed to get out.

"Medication?" Alucard suggested.

"Yes," Sebastian agreed as he lifted his head to look over his mortal bride. "If you take enough medication, you would pass out and die in your sleep. That sounds somewhat peaceful and pain free for a human."

"Anything else would be too severe and risky in the sense that it may go wrong." The vampire added. "Slitting your wrists would be a slow and painful death. And hanging yourself? If your neck doesn't snap immediately you're left hanging there and suffocate to death." The demon jolted when an idea came to him.

"Oh!" He exclaimed as he brought his attention to Alucard. "What if I were to snap her neck? I can do it swiftly so she won't feel a thing and she'll die quickly."

"NO!" Seras blurted and she took a step backwards. She cautiously interlaced her fingers around the back of her neck, trying her best to protect it. Alucard and Sebastian's heads snapped to look at her in surprise from that outburst. "I don't want my neck snapped." She mumbled then. "Think of something else, please."

"I apologize," Sebastian spoke softly. "Do you have any ideas, Seras?" The girl merely shook her head as she continued to protect her neck.

"No offense," The small blonde started. "But this isn't a fun conversation." She then glanced up at Alucard. "When Sebastian turned you into a vampire, how did you die?"

"My head was chopped off." Alucard answered. "But I doubt you would want the same." As expected, their mate shook her head. "As I thought,"

"There has to be a simple way, right?" Seras asked as she stared up at her mates with an almost pathetic look on her face. "Medication sounded the best, but even that could go wrong. I might throw up or something because my body will react negatively to all that medication." The girl's lips formed a tight line as she tried thinking of another solution. Eventually, her arms slipped from around her neck and she stood up straighter. "As scary as this might sound, what if I tried jumping off a high building? Though…that doesn't really sound pleasant, does it?" As Alucard and Sebastian stared down at her and listened to all that she suggested, they couldn't help but smile at her.

"I know how difficult this is for you to talk about, Seras." The demon whispered to her, earning her attention. "But we do deeply appreciate it that you are willing to discuss the subject."

"It's understandable how scared you must be." Alucard interrupted. "Ordinarily, we wouldn't want any harm coming to you. But…if you want a future with us, it has to be done. There is no other way and I'm sorry for that. Could you forgive us for what we're asking you to do?" Seras' eyes flickered downwards to stare at the floor.

"This is difficult and terrifying," She admitted. Surprisingly, a smile broke out across her lips and she gave a breathy laugh. "All I wanted was to have sex and, somehow, this led to the discussion of suicide or murder." The girl then groaned before the smile fell from her lips and she buried her face into her hands. "I don't even know what the future holds for us and here I am contemplating killing myself for what?" She then dropped her hands to look back up at them. "So we can mate and have a life together? Is that what you guys want?"

"You know that's what we want." Sebastian answered.

"But can I trust you both to actually want to stay with me? How do I know that in a couple of months to years that…we won't fall out of love? What if we can't tolerate each other anymore? Or what if it just doesn't work out?" Seras asked them. "Is this whole thing worth it?"

"That's up to you, Seras." The demon whispered, looking disappointed with what she was asking them. "You decide if you can trust us and if you want to become a vampire. This is your choice. But know that Alucard and I…we wouldn't be here now if we didn't love you. We wouldn't be telling you to sacrifice your life if we didn't think you being our mate would work out. Hell, we wouldn't even suggest to you ever becoming our mate if we knew for a fact that we didn't love you or…wouldn't stand you in the future." Seras was frozen in her spot. She stood there for a long minute and gaped up at him as if he had just grown two heads.

"You both…love me?" She asked in a whisper.

"Profoundly," Sebastian responded with a nod and a hard look. "We've never been in love with anyone ever before. We know that we're asking a lot from you, Seras, but we love you so much that…we want you to remain by our sides forever. And in order to do that, you'll have to end your life once I feed you my blood. I'm sorry." The girl appeared to be utterly speechless. She stared up at him for a moment or two, blinked several times, and then looked back at the floor. After a while of thinking over things, she sighed and closed her eyes.

"Look, as of right now, all I know is that I want to take this relationship a step further. I don't know how long it will take…but…if things go well and I fall in love with you both…then…I'll become a vampire." Seras told them. Her lashes opened gingerly and she tilted her head back to look at them. There was a small frown on her lips before a small smile formed. "If things go well…I'll…take my life. I don't really know how…but…I'm sure we'll find away when the time comes."

"I'm sorry it had to come to this, Seras." Sebastian whispered to her. "We would have done it Alucard's way…but…you wish to have a physical relationship with us."

"Are you sure you don't wish to change your mind?" Alucard asked with an arched brow. "Even after learning all that you have to go through, you still want to have sex with us?"

"It's…okay." Seras muttered as she slid her hands into her back pockets and glanced down at her feet.

"Are you sure?" Sebastian questioned.

"No," The small blonde snickered with a light shake of her head. "I'm freaking the fuck out. I have no idea what I should do or think. I'm just…panicking, and I don't know what to say or how to feel, and I just…" In that moment, she showed them exactly what she was feeling. Giant tears started forming in her eyes, but she still refused to look at them. Her bottom lip trembled and she subconsciously wrapped her arms around herself. Hot tears begun to roll down her face and a sob broke past her lips. "I just wanted a normal relationship." She said through whimpers and sobs. "I really like you both." She used her palm to wipe her tears from her face, but it didn't matter because more tears came to replace the old. So, she closed her eyes and just let the tears come. "The stupid article in the magazine and stupid Vixen flirting with you guys." Seras mumbled incoherently. Alucard and Sebastian stood there, watching their mate cry, and they felt completely helpless; maybe just as helpless as she was currently feeling. Seeing their bride cry, it tore at their heartstrings. They wanted to comfort her, but…didn't know what to say or do that would calm her down.

"I just wanted a special night. I wanted to admit my feelings to you both because you both have been so patient and kind and gentle. And I really adore you guys. And…I thought this night would lead to something more that would take our relationship further and bring us closer. But instead we're here talking about transformations and suicide and I'm freaking out and now I'm crying and I feel so…lost…and confused…and small." Seras sobbed as she tried once more to wipe her tears, but this time she used her sleeve. She was shaking so terribly. Her legs looked like they would give out from under her at any point. Their bride opened her tear filled eyes, killing them even more when she directed that heartbreaking look right at them. "And I'm actually contemplating suicide! I'm actually contemplating it!" She ran her fingers through her hair as she started breathing heavy from crying so hard. "Should I feel this way?! Should I want to kill myself for men I still barely know?! God, I feel so sick to my stomach. I-I-I was so jealous seeing Vixen there!" Seras proceeded as she gestured towards the couch. "I was so jealous to see her hands all over you, and I just…I could have…killed her. Because…Because…I want you both for myself. It's so selfish…but…you were mine and she was touching you." The girl went silent, but only for a short few seconds.

"I was so jealous." She whispered. "And now…I want…to kill myself…for you both." She dropped her head back into her hands. "And for what? So…we can…mate?" Ever so slowly, her hands slipped away. Alucard and Sebastian were bewildered to see a new look glistening in her eyes. Tears were still staining her cheeks, but…now there was hope as she fantasized her future with them. "Start a fresh life together somewhere? Have kids…if we can have kids? And have…a happy ending? Is this our happy ending?" Seras asked them before she glanced back up at them. "A swift death and then…we're together…forever?" Her current state took a lot out of her body. Her legs finally gave, but before she could fall, Sebastian caught her.

"Alright," The demon whispered soothingly to her as he hoisted her up. "You should sit for a while and try to calm down a little." He led her over to the dining room to sit her down in one of the chairs.

"What would my parents think?" Seras mumbled as she slumped down into a chair.

"Let me make you some tea." Sebastian sighed. "Just stay here and try to relax. Do some breathing exercises. " He suggested as he offered her his handkerchief. The small blonde barely took notice to it as she thoughtlessly took the white cloth from him. She just set it down in her lap but continued to stare at the floor intently. The demon, unable to stand to see his mate in this broken state, he combed his fingers through his hair. "I'm sorry," He simply whispered before he left her side to make her some hot tea. He hoped that the tea would help calm her down, but he had doubts that she'll relax at all tonight. Alucard, however, was quick to come to his mate's aid. He dropped onto his knees in front of her and he cupped her face into his hands. Automatically, Seras' watery eyes flickered to look him in the face, but she didn't say a word to him. She just sniffed while trying to hold back sobs.

"Seras, please, listen." The vampire begged of her lightly. He leaned up to press his lips to her warm, wet cheek, hoping to soothe her a little. "I know what we're asking it truly terrible. But how is this any different from me turning you into a vampire? You had made the decision that if you ever fell in love with us, you would happily become a vampire. In that case, you would have to die to become what I am. Michaelis' way is no different. Either way you are sacrificing your life to be with us. And if I were to be completely honest, I rather Michaelis was the one who turned you." Seras drew her head back a little when hearing that. "If I were to turn you it would be painful, my dear. I don't wish to see you in pain. I don't want you having to wait for your heart to slowly die. I rather your death was peaceful, as easy as falling asleep. I want you to be able to wake up feeling fresh and perfect. Michaelis can give you that. I can't. Please, don't be afraid of death. Don't be afraid of us." Alucard placed more kisses along the side of her face. Her tears had stop coming, but she still looked so miserable.

"I know how to make it easy for you." He proceeded in a whisper. His warm breath wafted over her soft flesh, sending tingles up and down her spine. "When it comes time and you consume Sebastian's blood, I know what we can do so you won't suffer at all."

"What?" Seras asked him in barely a whisper. He tilted his head back so their gazes locked; red meeting blue.

"I'll drain you of your blood." Alucard answered softly. "My bite naturally brings you pleasure. You won't feel anything but bliss as your life slips away. You'll slowly, but easily drift off and you'll wake as if nothing happened. I promise you, my dear. In truth, I don't want you to view this as you dying, Seras. Because you're not dying, not really. You will live a very long, healthy, and happy life." His mate stared at him for a long while before saying anything.

"I thought…I thought because I won't be a virgin…you can't…" The small blonde started, but he cut her off.

"I can't turn you into a vampire, which is why we must resort to Michaelis turning you. But because you'll have the demon's blood already spreading through your body, my bite shouldn't have any effect on you. You won't turn into a ghoul." He whispered with a light shake of his head.

"A ghoul?" Seras repeated softly. She was unsure what ghouls had to do with anything, but…she had faith in Alucard and that he was trying to make this as easy as possible for her. The girl's gaze lowered then as she sighed through her nose. "But…what if…I make the wrong decision? What if…we're not meant to be and…we don't last long after…I become a vampire?"

"Seras," Alucard snickered as he gave her a tender grin. He attempted to cheer his mate up by making her laugh. "You can say that we're very much like penguins." His mate jumped slightly in her seat and her eyes widened as she looked back at him.

"Penguins?" She repeated sweetly.

"Penguins mate for life." He elaborated and then he placed a small kiss on her lips. "You seem to think that our relationship with you is as normal as an average relationship humans have. That's not the case, my little mate." He whispered as he wiped her tears away. "Our relationship with you is extraordinary. You were made for us as we were made for you. We're the only people who will ever truly understand you, adore you, and love you, and vice versa." He placed a kiss in the corner of her mouth, a mouth that was starting to form a weak, tender smile. His own smile widened when seeing it. "Michaelis and I want to spend the rest of the time we have on this earth with you. We can stay here if you wish. Or we can go to France, Sweden, Spain, or Japan, wherever your little heart desires." He whispered before placing another kiss, but this time on her jaw. "We can have children. As many children as you want. Our nest never has to be empty if you don't wish it to be. We'll give you anything you ever want. I just want you by our side, now and until the end of the time. Even after, when we're nothing more but rotting corpses and lost souls." A full, beautiful smile was now on his mate's lips. Seras gingerly reached out to cup Alucard's face and she leaned forward to rest her forehead against his. She stared deeply into his eyes and listened to the purrs he started to emit.

"Swans," She whispered.

"What?" Alucard snickered.

"Swans mate for life too." She answered softly before she kissed him on the lips.

"Beavers," The vampire whispered against her lips.

"Seahorses," Seras giggled.

"Wolves," Alucard gave a breathy growl just as he leaned in closer to kiss her neck. He instantly earned a charming giggle from his mate when he incidentally tickled her with his lips.

"Are you…feeling better than, Seras?" Sebastian asked cautiously as he set a hot cup of tea down in front of her on the table. He was much relieved to see that Seras was no longer crying. In fact she was smiling brightly and had a certain lively spark in her eyes. She was even laughing. The demon gave a small smile of satisfaction. Her blue eyes flickered up to stare at him and her smile widened just a little bit more.

"Yes," She whispered. "Admittedly, I'm still a little nervous and…scared, but…I do feel a lot better."

"Baby steps, Seras." The demon spoke as he knelt in front of her. He placed his hand on her thigh. "Let's take this slowly. You have time to let your feelings grow for us. And by the time you're ready, hopefully you won't be scared anymore. Hopefully you feel confident in your decision and…even be happy." Sebastian's eyes flickered up and down her body before settling his gaze on her face. "Would you like to rest on the couch and watch a movie?" He suggested as he attempted to make his mate feel better. He didn't think it was a very good idea to resurrect the idea of having sex after what they just put her through. No, they had plenty of time to reach that level of intimacy. For right now, they just wanted to relax with their mate and allow her time to calm down some, after all, it has been a very long and tiring night. Seras bashfully nodded her head.

"That sounds lovely," Their mate responded with an exhausted, but sweet smile.

End of Chapter Nine

I didn't plan for this chapter to go exactly this way. Originally, the chapter was going to be steamy, but instead it came out emotional. Hopefully, there will be smut in the next chapter if I don't get sidetracked again like I did this for chapter.

I hope you enjoyed the chapter.
