Eric lead us back to his castle for us to get clean up. The maids gave Violet, Penny, and I strange looks for wearing shirts and pants. I get that girls wore dresses and skirts back then but pants are comfortable! I didn't feel comfortable with the maids bathing me so, I insisted on doing so my self.
I would glance at my scar covered arms that were close to my face. Most of them have either faded away while others are still there. I sighed and flopped the arm back into the warm water. When I finished cleaning myself I was given a dress to wear. It was similar to Ariel's when she went to town with Eric but black and purple. I got dressed and went to find my brother so we could talk. A blur of pink zipped by me and I saw the eyes of a familiar blob looking at me. "Morph?" I said. He chittered in response and nuzzled against my cheek.
"Did you follow us here?" I asked and tickled the blob. He laughed. I thought he was still in San Fransokyo but I guess he was worried about me and probably hitched a ride on Baymax to keep up. He probably hopped in the time machine when no one else was looking and escaped like that too. He turned into a canary and hopped on my shoulder. I continued down the hallway when I heard something. It sounded familiar but I couldn't place it. It was like a call and I looked at the sea.
"Ah, ah, ah, ah"
I scoffed and rubbed it off as an side effect from the crash. No way would this become some sort of story cliche thing where I have to go somewhere to find my truth. Been there and done that three months ago. But I could still feel like it's something I shouldn't ignore. No, it must be some brain damage. I'll get Baymax to scan me later. I went to the outer barbican and saw Hiro sitting underneath the gazebo. I turned to walk away when he called out to me.
"Hey, Emma!"
I turned to look at him and got a good look at what he was wearing. It was a red shirt with brown pants and black boots.
"Yeah?"
"What's with the bird and what are you doing?
"It's Morph actually and I'm looking for Baymax and Jim."/p
"Why?"
"For reasons."
He laughed softly at my response. "I think I saw Jim in the library."
"Thanks."
I left the area and re entered the castle. I felt a little guilty not asking him how he was handling his brother being alive. If anyone could understand it, it's Jim. I was missing for years and he did think the worst had happened. It took me a while but I finally found the library. I'll admit that I walked it a few times in my pursuit of the room. I saw him sitting at a table reading a thick book. "You." I said. He looked up and frowned when seeing me.
"You deliberately disobeyed me." He said.
"Okay Mufasa." I responded rolling my eyes.
"I told you that you weren't going but you went instead!"
"I had to go! I had to contribute my part to the shucking prophecy! How did you even get to San Fransokyo anyways? I thought you went to bed."
"I hopped in the trunk of the other time machine when I saw it on the lawn. The footsteps you heard were B.E.N."
"Why? Why did you come? I didn't want you to get hurt."
My arm tingled a bit, remembering the wound Scroop gave me on the Legacy. Even though I had nothing to show from the encounter it still happens whenever I think about it. It's like my body remembers past marks and that's pretty scary. He said nothing and went back to reading. I opened my mouth to say something but I heard it again. That voice.
"Ah, ah, ah, ah"
"Did you hear that?" He asked.
"Yeah. It could be a concussion or something. Let's find Baymax and get an idea what's going on."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
We found the robot in the castle's hospital wing. It wasn't a surprise but, I didn't think of it before. The whole time we were walking around, I couldn't say anything to him. I was mad he came along in the first place. Ever since I've been back it seems like he doesn't trust me to be on my own. I'm not a baby anymore, I'm almost a teen. Key word ALMOST!
He tried to start a conversation but, his attempts weren't working. Morph turned back to himself and looked at us concerned. I shook my head at the shapeshifter and continued walking. I entered the room Baymax was in and he looked at us. "Hello Jim and Emma." He said.
I smiled softly at him. "Can you—"
"Scan complete."
"Of course."
"You two have no injuries from the crash."
I felt lightheaded and almost blacked out but, I thankfully recomposed myself. It can't be right! I'm hearing a voice in my head for crying out loud!
"Your neurotransmitter levels have risen and your heart rate has stopped for a second. Is everything alright?"
I looked at the robot's black eyes and shook my head. "No. We're hearing something that no one else can hear."
He cocked his head to the right a bit confused. "I cannot seem to be picking anything strange from your scans. Do you know what may be causing this?"
It hit me like a bus or a ship. The familiar notes of the call, why Baymax can't hear it. Oh yeah, it's coming together. "I think so."
