{This takes place 6 weeks after Roberts surgery}
*BACK STORY*
Robert completed his surgery and had been out of the hospital for the past 6 weeks doing physical therapy and going to his post op has been going to therapy to help solve her problems and she was still checking up on Robert at his appointments,she also took off work to heal her mind and now there both back for their first shift in about a month!
{Andys POV}
For the past six weeks I've been staying in the guest room of Robert and I condo. I knew that I had messed up pretty badly with not being there for his surgery and I knew I broke a vow "in sickness and in health". I still wanted to try and help in any way I can with his recovery if that even meant just giving him food and helping him get down the stairs. I decided to go seek therapy to help relieve the pressure on my body and to help release my emotions. Therapy helped me a lot and now I felt more than ready to get back to doing the thing I love the most which is fighting knew I took personal leave but they all assumed it was for Robert which it was for some parts but not all. After the night of his surgery at my moms cabin I couldn't take the pressure and all the anger in my body so I ended up leaving and never looked back. I was excited to see my real family the family I knew and loved "Station 19"
{Roberts POV}
After I didn't see Andy beside me I felt my whole world come crashing down. I knew I should've held onto her a little longer and maybe I should've listened to her before leaving but it was all too late. I did my first round of PT and I was cleared to leave. When I arrived home I was surprised to see food already on the table and there was also a note from Andy.
"I know I haven't been the best wife,but I hope you can accept this apology and I hope you won't be too mad but I've the decision for the next 6 weeks to only sleep in the guest room and I will help you if needed. I've decided to take personal therapy and I will tell you when my 6 weeks is up. Robert you are still my safest place and I wouldn't trade you for anything. Please eat and stay safe and I'll be home soon to help you with everything else."

When I read the note I knew instantly that Andy really wasn't ok.I was glad that she was willing to still help me and I was glad she was taking comfort for herself. I did as I was told and I sat on the sofa and I waited for her.
45 minutes later
A:*walks in* "Hi I'm sorry if you needed anything I was in a session.I know it's kind of late now"
R:" ok no need to explain I'm glad to see you. Can I get a kiss or is that too much too soon"
A:"Don't be silly now Robert. I still am in love with you so yes" she walked over to him and gave him a kiss
R:"Since you offered to help me and I am kind of stocked to these crutches and I am not allowed to put that much pressure on my leg could you help me get upstairs and change"
A:"Sure let's go"
[Andy helps him get dressed and she leaves him and goes downstairs to go to the guest room and call it a night]
~At the station~
M:"Yayyyyy Andy is back"
A:"Hi guys I've missed you"
D:"You ok"
A:"For the most part,I'm getting there. Sooo what's for breakfast"
T:"Yogurt Parfaits"
M:"Eat and go do chores in 15 minutes"
M:"Hughes,Miller Aid car;Montgomery and Herrera Engine;Gibson and Myself Ladder. Let's make this 24 hour shift count"
[They all ate their breakfast and maya left to do her captain duties and everyone else left to go do their chores for the morning]
J:"So Andy are you good?"
A:"Yes Jack I am good. I promise thanks for asking"
V:"I know everyone is probably asking you a lot of questions but the only question i want to ask, is the battalion chief aka Robert back by any chance"
A:"Yes he will be here today after his morning appointment and he is on desk duty"
A:"Is that all the questions guys?"
T:"I'm just glad your back lieutenant"
A:"Thanks Trav. Let's get back to work"
*Shortly after Robert arrived back to the station and he began to fill out the missed paperwork and the team went out on a call for a small house fire with 2 medical injuries and has now was focused on the computer when he noticed the front entrance open...*
R:"Hi I'm Battalion Chief Sullivan,Station 19 is something wrong?"
W:"No,not really do you happen to know though by chance if Andrea Herrera was in today"
{Roberts POV}
The minute this woman walked in I immediately noticed her face. It looked similar to the photos I saw when Andy and I were sorting through the boxes. I didn't want to believe or assume anything at first so I played it cool until she started asking for Andy. I was shocked this couldn't be who I think was. I was frozen...
W:"Umm sir"
R:"Ohhh um sorry uhh could you please come with me for a second and I'll get Andy"
W:"Ok"
*Robert escorted the woman up to his office and left her to sit and he also closed the blinds since he knew the station was restocking the trucks just below them*
R:"HERREA my office now please"
T:"Hubby calling his wife ohhhhhh Andy"
A:"Shush it's probably not anything"
{Andys POV}
When Robert shouted my name,I was a little startled only because I thought he was at the desk and when I had looked up I saw him on the platform. I thought something may have happened so I dropped the rag and I made my way up there fairly quickly. When I approached his office he said to me "If you need me I'll be in the beanery waiting" and he left me with a kiss. I felt a lot of nerves rushing through my body,like who would want to see me in his office and why would he leave?
A:"Hello I'm lieutenant Herrera" I said approaching the door not realizing who it was
E:"Andy it's your mom"
A:"Didn't I make I fairly clear when I left your room that night that I clearly didn't want anything to do with you at the moment"
E:"Andy yes,but can we talk"
A:"All due respect mommy but I can't leave my team to work by themselves I'm a lieutenant and I take pride in doing my job so since I'm on the clock I'm going to go now"
E:"Andy"
A:"Yes what is it now BECAUSE FOR THE PAST 2 MINUTES IVE BEEN TELLING YOU I HAVE A JOB TO DO" at that moment I don't care who was listening or whatever I wanted nothing to do with the fact of her leaving and all of a sudden coming back
E:"Ok that's fine I get that just please be safe and I do still love you mija"
A:"Ya ok now if you'll excuse me I gotta go"
*Andy left the room and Robert approached his office first*
R:"Umm ok is everything alright here"
E:"Yes I'm sorry for taking up space. I know your pretty high in command and I did happen to see a little of you and Andys conversation so I'll tell you this much yes I am alive and I know that crazy but it's a story for another time and yes I know she needed me as a motherly figure for all those years and yes I know I walked out on her but I am just trying to make amends and I hope she will see that soon when she is ready of course. If you don't mind me asking how close are you to Andy?"
R:*I stood over my desk and I looked at the mother of my wife who was seemingly dead but now alive. I couldn't tell her about Andy and I relationship not without her fully comfortable and here with me so I said.. "I'm just a friend for her but most importantly I'm her boss it's my duty to keep all my firefighters safe and in tack"
E:"Thank you for your time and thanks for looking out for her I know she needs if it wouldn't mean anything could we exchange numbers in case she may change her mind and tell you?"
R:"Sure"
*They exchanged numbers and Elena left and now Robert was sitting at his desk thinking*
{Roberts POV}
After that encounter with Elena I was left shocked.I couldn't help but think that damn Andy was completely right something was left out of her family and now we were both going through something. I felt really bad because this whole time she must have been crying for days in the guest room and with my surgery I just knew she couldn't handle both broke a vow and now we both needed each other more than ever and so that is why I'm going to talk to her.
R:"Andy can I see you a moment"
~In the office~
R:"Close the blinds and lock the door please and meet me in my bunk"
A:"What are we doing Robert you know we've been distant and I know you still have 2 weeks on your leg"
R:"Sweetheart I don't want that,not right now at least I want to talk. Can we do that?"
A:"Of course"
R:"Come sit beside me and tell me everything"
A:"Ok so first thing first I want to sincerely apologize to you for walking out on your surgery and also not telling you about my mother. I know you were probably confused and I am sorry. Robert I'm trying I really am. I lost 2 of the most important people in my life; my best friend and the man who raised me to become the firefighter I am today my papi and now I have you and I wouldn't change it for the world" as I said this a tear rolled down my cheek
R:*my heart broke for my wife but I knew she had more to say so I wiped her tear and gave her a reassuring kiss on her cheek* "Continue Love I'm here"
A:"I decided since everything was just getting too much I needed to find a private therapist and that's exactly what I did. helped me and she opened me up and she told me things I needed to hear and did tell me to reconnect with you but I just couldn't not when I knew you helped me when I was down and I don't do the same for you. That's why I decided to stay in the guest room, I would help you and then I would go and lay in the bed and sometimes I would fall asleep. Other times I would take your shirt and cuddle with it only because I missed you. I missed you so much Robert and I will never do this again. I understand if you still need time but please Robert know that I am trying and I'm asking you to meet me halfway and let's promise to hear each other out completely from here on out"
R:"I promise Andy. I really didn't know you were struggling this much and I am sorry for not hearing you out or believing you. I'm sorry for not realizing you needed me too and I'm sorry for putting my stress onto your stress. I love you Andy as well and I'll never trade our love"
A:"I love you so much babe and I do thank you for everything truly."
R:"I love you too. I have a question: are you coming up to the master bedroom tonight?"
A:"Yes babe I'll come back tonight but nothing else than sleeping remember your leg!"
R:"That's fine I'll plan something else just for the two of us"
A:"Hmmm well ok battalion chief I got things to do. I love you and I'm going to see you later"
R:"Bye lieutenant Herrera-Sullivan"
*They have each other a hug and kiss and she then left his office going back to their individual work in the station*
