For 4 days there was no update on my mom's condition.

Then on the 5th day's morning my phone rang. It was Jon.

Jon-"Hey Clare...how you holding up?"

Clary-"Am fine. How's mom?"

Jon-"She is going to be fine Clary. She'll live. The doctor said it would take some time but after the surgery she'll be in a healthy condition."

Clary-"Oh my god oh my god oh my god Yayyyyyyyyyy..."

Jon-"The doctors will be performing the surgery day after tomorrow. Then we can meet her."

Clary-"Thank god. I am so happy Jon."

Jon-"I know. I'll go and talk to the doctor about the charges and all. Bye."

Clary-"Bye"

Huhhh now I am feeling better. So better. I had told Izzy Simon and Alec about it and Jace already knew about my mom. So informed them that she's gonna be fine. At once came 4 messages saying good to hear that and thank god. I was happy.

I drove to the school. Fortunately it was a sunny day. I went to the class humming my favorite song to myself.

Jace-"Dinner's still on right?"

Clary-" should I come?"

Jace-"How about 7?"

Clary-"Done."

Somehow the day came to an end. I wore my white top Black leather pants Black fur jacket and black boots. Jace had texted my the address. I drove to his house. It was just 10 minutes away from my house.

I knocked on the door and Maureen opened the door.

Maureen-"Hey Clary...Long time."

She hugged me and I hugged her back.

Clary-"I know..I guess 2-3 years."

Maureen-"Mmmhmm...come on in."

I went in. Jace's house was really very well maintained. It was mostly vintage. And there was the smell of lavender coming from his house.

Maryse-"Clary Jace told me that you'd be coming for dinner. Welcome."

Clary-"Thank you Mrs. Herondale."

Jace-"Hey there Clare."

We hugged awkwardly.

Maryse-"Please sit Clary. The food's getting cold."

We sat down and Mrs. Herondale served the dishes. There was bacon, avocado and turkey with some fruit salad and some orange juice.

We ate food and talked to each other.

Maryse-"So Clary Jace told me about your mom. How is she now?"

Clary-"She's fine Mrs. Herondale. She is going to have a surgery in 2 days."

Maryse-"I see..I hope she gets well soon."

Clary-"Me too."

Maureen-"Clary are you and Jace in the same class?"

Clary-"Yup."

Jace-"Its weird we haven't murdered each other till now."

Clary-"I know right."

Maryse-"So where does your dad work?"

Clary-"My dad has an automobile business. His company's name is Classies"

Maryse-"Ya I have heard a lot of that company. Its a good thing his business has flourished a lot."

Jace-"Clary tell them about Mrs. Little's art class."

And the conversation continued when finally the dinner came to an end.

Maryse-"Well Clary it was really good to have you here. I hope you come again some day soon."

Clary-"Thanks a lot Mrs. Herondale. Will surely do."

Maryse-"Goodnight Clary. Jace why dont you drop her off?"

Clary-"Oh its fine."

Jace-"C'mon I insist."

We went to my car.

Jace-"So did you enjoy it?"

Clary-"A lot. I forgot how family dinners were like."

Jace-"Come to my house anytime you want a family dinner."

Clary-"Jace I wanted to thank you for everything."

Jace-"Oh its fine."

Clary-"No really..I dont know why I had a bad opinion about you before but seriously I like your new side. I am so sorry if I ever hit you or cursed you. I thought you were the spoiled rich brat but you are not. In fact you really are very nice. So thank you for helping me with my mom's situation and for today's dinner. Do you think we can start over again?"

Jace-"Clare its totally cool."

Clary-"I just need to do one more thing."

Jace-"What?"

And finally it came. I pressed my lips to his. A blast of energy came past me. His hands slid down my hair to my shoulder to my waist as he pulled me closer. His hands slid under my top and he was touching my bare skin. He kissed my cheeks my eyes my nose and finally my lips. I slid my tongue through his teeth. He tasted of sea water. His hair tickled my hands. I could feel his hard muscular body under my hands. I dont know how long we kissed when we finally broke apart."

Jace-"Woah...it was wowwwww"

Clary-"I know. See you tomorrow jerk?"

Jace-"Definitely. Goodnight."

We kissed again. I drove back home.

I could still taste Jace. It was amazing. I finally had a good night sleep.
