The next day he woke up at his alarm feeling much better. He felt guilty about his mom taking care of now his kingdom but knew they all understood he can only do so much.

When he got up he got ready for the day then headed to breakfast smiling.

"Good morning sire." his advisor Alisha said. "I can see you're feeling much better today."

"Good morning Alisha. And yes I am feeling better." he said smiling.

"Good."

When he got to the dining room he sat down next to Manic and said good morning.

"Looks like you're feeling better." Aleena said smiling.

"Yeah. Thanks for letting me get some sleep. Sorry." he said.

"You can ask us to help next time if you want bro." Manic said.

He nodded and had breakfast.

After that he got to work while Sonia went to Angel Island and Manic went to visit a friend.

Finally it was time for them to get ready for the holiday party and as promised Sonic had made it special.

"What color would you like the table covers be sir?" Tom asked with clothes in his hands.

Aleena was smiling at how hard he's been working on making them all happy, still protecting Mobius from time to time and helping Sonia, Manic and Knuckles to get along.

"Umm, tables blue and napkins green." he said and Tom nodded.

"Yes sir." he said.

"But," Sonic started and Tom stopped.

"Yes sire?"

"I'm trying to get along with my former friends and want to make a few things special."

"What would that be sir?"

"Tails likes orange so orange napkin for him, Knuckles likes red so red for him, Rouge likes purple so purple for her, Amy likes pink so pink for her, Cream likes light blue so if you can sky blue for her, Shadow likes black so black for him, Blaze likes yellow so yellow for her and Silver likes grey so grey for him if you can make this happen."

"Of course sir."

"Thanks. That's all for now."

Tom nodded and told everyone what he wanted.

Sonic stood there and sighed.

"Why am I letting them come here?" he wondered.

"Because you're being the king I knew you'd be by trying to make everyone happy and be friends again." Aleena said.

"Mom!"

"Hello Sonic." she said smiling.

"So, how's it all looking so far?"

"It's looking beautifully." she said.

"Thanks, like I said, I'd make this even better than my coronation."

She nodded smiling.

At the end of the day he was tired and getting ready for bed.

"Let's hope tomorrow goes better then my coronation." he said and fell asleep.

The next day was Christmas Eve and they were getting ready for the party.

He had checked to make sure everything was right and it was.

He stood there in the mirror looking at himself.

There's one thing he wasn't looking forward to. The king of Acorn and Sally were coming. He tried to reject them from coming but they were already on their way.

An hour later he was standing there saying hello to everyone with Aleena, Sonia and Manic there to.

When he go to Tails, Knuckles, Shadow, Silver, Blaze, Rouge and Cream he only nodded and they did the same. Then last but not least the king of Acorn and Sally.

Sonic tried as hard as he could to be a real king and be polite to them.

"Your majesty, Sally." he said confusing them all with the look on his face as if he was ready to lose it.

"King Sonic." the king said and shook hands.

Sonic glared at Sally for a second then shook hands with her.

"Princess Sally." he said.

"King Sonic." Sally said.

"After I get this started I would like to talk to you two, mom, Manic and Sonia if you don't mind sir."

"Not at all King Sonic." the king said.

Then they all went inside.

Sonic stood in front of them all and took a deep breath.

"Like I said, I promise to make an even better Christmas party and I hope I did that. Now, let the feast begin!" he said and they all started clapping then started the party. "Come with me sir, Sal, mom, Manic, Sonia."

They all nodded and left the room.

When they got to the throne room Sonic stood there and looked at them all.

"So, what did you wanna talk about bro?" Manic asked.

"Sally Acorn! Why did you make me lose my friends and ex-girlfriend months ago?!" Sonic yelled shocking them all.

"What?" they said except Sally.

"Was it because you knew I was the prince and heir of Mobotropulis? Was it because I was the hero? Were you jealous of me being with Amy? What?!"

Sally stood there in silence.

"Answer the question! You're in my kingdom which means you have to listen to me not the other way around."

She knew he was right but stayed quiet.

"Sally?" the king said. "What happened? You know he's right and we have to listen to him."

"I knew you are a prince and a prince should go together with a princess not a prince and a normal person! And she doesn't deserve him!" she said.

"I knew you were gonna say that. If I could I wouldn't allow you to never be here again but that would be rude." Sonic said.

"You can exile us from here, or at least Sally." the king said.

"He's right Sonic. Now that you're the king you can exile them from here." Aleena said.

Sonic stood there thinking then nodded.

"Sally, after this party only the king can come here. Not even when you become queen." he said.

He felt guilty for doing that but knew as king he had to and could do things to make them all happy.

"Now if you'll excuse me I have a party to watch."

Then he left and Aleena had Manic and Sonia follow Sonic and would talk to Sally and the king.

They nodded and followed Sonic.

When they got there Sonic took a deep breath and saw Tails, Knuckles, Shadow, Amy, Cream, Blaze and Silver being shown to their seats.

They looked surprised Sonic had done this for them.

He looked at Amy and Aleena, Sonia and Manic saw that and looked at each other.

"Why don't you go see them. I'm going to see Knuckles." Sonia said and Sonic nodded.

So they stepped down and headed to the others. Aleena smiled seeing Sonic really was trying to get his friendship back like any king should do with other places.

'I knew he was ready and was going to be a fine king.' she thought smiling.

On their way to former Team Sonic, Amy, Cream, Rouge, Shadow, Silver and Blaze people bowed to them and Sonic nodded while Sonia said hello back.

When they got to them Sonia gave Knuckles a hug and Sonic stood there looking at them all.

"So, you gave us a table of our own and put the napkins to match our favorite color huh?" Tails said.

"Yes. Sonia and Knuckles are doing fine so I want to try and get us as friends again someday." he said.

Then they stood there in silence and Sonic looked at Amy and saw she was wearing the necklace he gave her for her birthday last year.

"Thanks for inviting us." Blaze said.

He nodded and looked at Tails.

"Have any new inventions yet?"

Tails turned bright red while the others snickered.

"No." he said.

"Wow. I don't think I'd ever hear you say that."

"It's true." Knuckles said.

While they talked they checked in with each other and saw that they were doing fine now.

They all still felt guilty about blaming Sonic for something he didn't do.

Knuckles had taken Sonia to a different room to talk to her.

"How have you been?" Knuckles asked.

"Alright." Sonia said.

Then they looked at each other and got closer and for the first time kissed.

When they stopped they both turned red and looked away from each other.

Then Knuckles looked at her.

"I love you, you know that right?"

"I know." she said and looked back at him. "I love you to but not ready to become a couple until Sonic forgives you all and we forgive you. I'm not ready to forgive you yet."

He nodded then kissed her cheek.

"Take as long as you want." he said smiling.

She nodded and they went back with the others.

A few hours later after the party Sonic was happy he had done a good job and made everyone happy. He was laying bed thinking about what had gone on today.

"I'm doing a good job at this, now let's hope it stays that way until it's time for me to step down and after getting married and having kids my son or daughter to take the throne.

Then he fell to bed smiling.
