Hello, my sweet, lovely readers! Today's chapter is about Hephaestus and the prompt was given by FestusGirl, an amazing person who's super sweet, kind and amazing, everyone! Hope this lives up to your expectations and was similar to what you had in mind.
Actually, today's is actually a blend of prompts and is kinda related to the previous story about Ares, especially the last part, and it also involves golden llamas. Plus, I love Hephaestus so much because he's awesome and is just a loner and left out, so I feel bad for him and also kinda relate to him. Not entirely though, just the feeling of being left out.
Random question of the day: Have you ever listened to Dodie? Her songs are the best and she just writes them in such a beautiful way. Like, I can relate to a bunch of her songs. Her voice is angelic and she plays the ukulele. Also, her new album is coming out on March 5th and her new single, Cool Girl, is already out.
Now, onto the story. Have a great day and stay safe everyone ❤️3
I was busy making golden llamas. Yes, golden llamas. You see, yesterday, Ares had dressed up as Santa Klaus and millions of people came to see him and made requests and he had to make all of them true. One of them was golden llamas. Who asked for them? I'll give you one guess. If you guessed Percy Jackson, you're right. Now, Ares has begged me to make a park and who was I to resist some good, old-fashioned groveling?
While I was working on the llamas, I heard a knock on the door of my workshop. It was probably some person looking for the bathroom or something.
"Bathroom's on the first right down the hall!" I yelled out.
The door opened and someone let themselves in.
"I didn't come looking for the bathroom. I came for you." the person who came in said softly. I turned around and looked at the person. It was… Artemis? Why was she here? She never usually talked to me even though we did sometimes have conversations consisting of sighs, eyebrow raises and eye rolls when the other gods were fighting and being annoying which was basically every family meeting and council meeting ever.
"Why?" I questioned.
"Well, you see, all the other gods are off laughing at Ares and as much as that is fun, I didn't want to join them." she said. "It seems cruel to make fun of him even though he deserves it a bit."
"Then, why did you come here?"
"Well, you always seem lonely, everyone else was annoying and well, I felt bad for you."
"Why's that."
"Well, your darling mother, who unfortunately happens to be my stepmother and for whom I have no love did throw you off a mountain because you didn't fit in her image of a perfect family."
"Well, you don't exist in her image of a perfect family either."
"Of course i don't. I'm a sworn maiden who barely hangs out with her family and also the product of one of her husband and brother's many affairs."
"Well, can't argue with that. At least she hates you more than she hates me."
"Believe me. I have no use of her love."
"Same" I smiled at her and she smiled back.
It felt nice to have someone talk to you normally and not as a freak. Most people don't really like me because I'm ugly and my wife doesn't love me and kind of left me for my brother, which is extremely weird. What does she see in him? Maybe she likes bikers.
I continued making the golden llamas, thinking that she had left, but she cleared her throat and I turned to face her.
"As much as it's nice to drag Hera, insult her and call her names behind her back," she began, "I was hoping that you would join me, Athena, Apollo and Hermes for playing board games. We usually don't play together, but we were thinking of starting a tradition and bonding."
"That's nice. I'll think about it."
"Ares isn't coming, if you were wondering."
"Why's that?"
"We just wanted to try this out before we included him. If he joins, there will be a huge fight and we don't want that."
"That's true. Have you been doing any more bonding or so?"
"Yeah. Me and Apollo have been having movie nights together."
"That's nice."
"Yeah, it is. We've been watching Doctor who. Anyways, will you join us?"
"I'll try to.."
"Thank you. For listening and trying. I'll now leave you to your work. Hope I see you tonight at 6"
"It's no problem. I'll try to see you at 6."
She turned and walked towards the door. As she was heading out, I called out after her.
"You know, it's nice to have a sister." I said.
"It's nice to have a brother too, especially one who isn't my twin." she said smiling and then walked out the door.
What I said was true. It is nice to have a sister. I finished the golden llamas and added lasers in the eyes for good measure and naturally, made them breathe fire. I decided to join them and in order for that, made myself presentable. I locked all the doors and cleaned up my workstation before heading out. It felt nice to be part of a family and who knows, we might just form a tradition.
So, that was that. What's you think? Was it good, bad, okay? Tell me your thoughts. Also give me a prompt for Athena -tomorrow's story. Leave a review with anything and everything you want to tell me.
Hope this was up to your expectations and what you were hoping for, FestusGirl.
Love y'all, my sweet, darling readers ❤️ See you all tomorrow! This chapter, including the ANs in the beginning and ending is exactly 1000 words.
