As the week went by and they finally made it to Tython. Near the space station told them they could land on the planet and gave Susan the coordinates. She nodded as she flew her ship to those coordinates without a second thought. When they landed, they noticed that it was filthy and hadn't been used in ages. They could tell that it was once used by Jedi as they investigated the building and let Susan play with the holo programs. Susan was the one who found an old taxi and said, "Guy's I found our way down towards the temple."
Tessa got in and just hoped that it still worked, and they didn't crash into anything. Aaron sat in the back since he was banned from driving any speeder after an accident on Yavin 4 with Mace. Susan was still looking under the hood making sure everything was still there and that it had enough fuel to get them to the surface side. As she got in and started it up she said, "Sorry if it's a hard drive but it's a little rusty once we find the temple I'll come back and move my shuttle there if it's safe to do so. "
Thankfully, they landed on another landing area not to far off and they could see the wildlife of that area. Tessa was wondering why they were still in the middle of nowhere. It seems like they weren't going to find a town or city anytime soon. Aaron was wondering the same but if Susan landed here, she had to know what she was doing. Susan on the other hand was trying to figure out why they landed her just to see that it was the only coordinates in the system. She looked at her friends and said, "The Jedi of old I think used this place as a training ground since this taxi only had these coordinates in them so I would believe the temple can't be too far away."
Tessa huffed she really wished that she didn't have to walk on an unfamiliar planet with out a tour guide. Every time they went on a planet somebody knew exactly what they were looking for and could land near it, but no one knew much about Tython and they had no idea where the temple was. As the three left the platform Aaron noticed a trail and said, "Anybody think we should follow the brown dirt road."
Tessa replied, "Aaron this isn't time for a wizard of oz quote."
Susan replied, "We might as well, no one told us exactly where the temple is, and I would like to find shelter before night fall so we might as well."
The three quickly made their way down the dirt road they kept their eyes open for any threats that may come their way. Thankfully, they didn't see any and at the end of the road they saw the temple in complete despair. Susan could tell that somebody either bombed it or wreaked the temple for one reason or another. They couldn't believe how bad it looked from the outside. Aaron started to walk toward the temple in complete confusion since he knew that they Jedi always made sure that the temples looked at least decent even if they were abounded years ago. Tessa noticed a rusty droid standing in front of a steel shed. As she walked over to the droid, she noticed that it was rusted, and the cell battery was completely drained. She figured great our only source of knowledge is scraped. Susan called for Tessa as they walked up to the temple to start seeing how bad the inside was compared to the outside. As they walked in, they knew one thing they were not going to be sleeping here anytime soon.
The three climbed over what might have once been the celling since the debris was covering the stairs to see what the upstairs looked like. As they finally got up, they decided to go from the right and work their way to the left. As they went that hall, they noticed that one lead to what might have been a map room or where one might try to figure out tactics. They went down the other hall that was connected and found a landing pad which look like it wasn't touched like the main room and last room looked like. As they left, they went in through the blown out, doors at where the stairs started from and right away, they knew it was the council room. Susan was in raged at the look of this room in her mind it was one of the most important rooms in the temple. They left as they couldn't look at, the mess that was in there they knew if they were to rebuild, then that was the first room to be done. All three of the padawans respected the council and to see the main council room like that didn't sit well with them. The last room on the top was on the left that led to the library and what look like holocrons floating in the air. Aaron was amazed while Susan said, "Aaron no we don't know what they contain. We should ask the council what they want us to do since the temple is in complete shambles as it is. I say that we go back to my shuttle make a report and see what they say to do."
The three quickly left not noticing that a Twi'lek was watching them as they left the temple. He was surprise he knew the outfits as they were raised hearing about how the Jedi had decided to help them during the galactic civil war even though before they wouldn't be caught helping them. He wondered if they were planning on coming back after the war had come and spared no one on this planet. He went to go and tell their ruler. They always had a feeling that the Jedi would come back to rebuild.
The three young padawans finally made it back to Susan's shuttle as Susan made the holo call to the council. As they saw the image of Susan and she saw them she said, "Master's we have made it to Tython, and the temple is in highly horrible looks. I am ashamed to even look at it with how it looked today. The question is what do you want us to do? Right now, it's can't be habitable we would need to rebuild the temple."
Yoda replied, "Terrible this news is."
Mace replied, "Padawan Thieme, what do you think the best course of action is for you three?"
Susan replied, "I know that I could probably fix the wires for electricity and I know that Aaron knows how to do plumping as he took shop class back on Earth so those are pretty much covered and Tessa was always interested in interior decorating so if we let her go crazy she would have the temple stylish. Now back to the actual topic I think we could repair if we had the equipment to repair the temple but if you want this secretly done then I have no idea."
Kit Fisto was looking at a holo book that had information on Tython that he had gotten from the archives and said, "Susan we may not be able to get you the supplies but on the planet there was a place filled with droids I'm pretty sure that if they are still there that you can take the metal from them to rebuild the temple along with the wiring from them if they aren't too rusted. Also, there should also be a colony they may be able to help you out."
Susan sighed and said, "Not to be disrespectful masters, but you do know that with just us three padawan's that it's going to take years for us to rebuild."
Plo Koon replied, "We understand Padawan Thieme, but this is important, and we leave it up to you three to do. We had no idea how bad shape the temple was in but do what you can to make it habitable again."
Yoda replied, "Take as long as you need Padawan and if possible, send supplies we will. May the force be with you."
With that Susan was disconnected from the meeting. All Aaron and Tessa heard was Susan scream in disbelief. Aaron looked at Tessa and whispered, "Who is going to find out what made Susan scream this time?"
Tessa got up as she knew that Aaron only asked because when Susan got like that, he didn't want to go near her. He may be chicken but then again, he didn't know how to calm Susan down easily and normally made it worse.
Tessa came into the room and asked, "Sue, what happen to make you scream like that?"
Susan looked at Tessa who could immediately tell that Sue was not in the best of moods said, "The council wants us to rebuild the temple and if they can then we will get supplies. HOW THE HELL DO THEY EXPECT US TO REBUILD THE TEMPLE BY OURSELFS."
Okay she may have yelled the last part not that she couldn't help that she was beyond piss with the council. Aaron heard the last part and thought I wonder who had the fun news of telling her that. Wait they had to rebuild the temple did they know how many years that would take.
The next day Susan flew her ship to the temple with her two companions still sleeping. As she landed, she put her ship on password lock which meant the ship was not leaving until the password was put in and Susan's hand was scanned. Only Susan knew about these security locks that she put in place on her shuttle. She woke up Tessa as that would be the easiest person to get up Aaron would be a little bit harder. As Tessa got up and started to get ready for a day of let's clean the temple as she started to call it, Susan went to go and wake up Aaron. She decided to just shake him awake if that didn't work then a quick spray of cold water from the shower always works.
Aaron came down a few minutes later drying off his hair seeing as Aaron wouldn't wake up and Susan used the force to gentle float Aaron into the shower and when he was on the ground use the force to turn on the cold water before she bolted only hearing the shrill scream as Aaron was rudely woken up. Tessa smirked into her milk as she saw her friend and knew exactly why Susan had come in only a few minutes ago smug. The only reason why Aaron didn't go after Susan for the unwelcome wake up call was because she was bringing in breakfast which happen to be his favorite pancakes and bacon.
After they ate the three went to go and start to clean up the temple. They were hoping that some of the stuff here was salvageable, but they didn't have high hopes as they didn't know how long it had been like this. They decided to move the heavier stuff by using the force and get that out of the way. They were moving the debris out into the courtyard into three training areas that were set out one was for salvageable, the other two were non-salvageable. Thankfully, they were able to see just from lifting it up if it was still usable. At the third trip of moving the heavy debris to the non-salvageable area, she saw a Twi'lek staring at her.
She walked over and hoped that the Twi'lek knew basic or it could be difficult to understand each other. She said, "Hi, can I help you with anything?"
The Twi'lek looked at Susan and demanded, "What do you think you are doing here? This is scarce land and you are trespassing. Many Jedi died here long ago."
Susan was taken back as she said, "Madame, I am a Jedi Padawan as are my friends we are rebuilding the temple as our Jedi council asked us too. As the temple is Jedi property we are not trespassing we just want to bring it up to it former glory and wouldn't it be better for all the Jedi who died to have the temple rebuilt and used once more."
The Twi'lek replied, "Do as you will, but I wouldn't be surprise if the Jedi spirits start to haunt you for disrupting their sleep."
With that warning the Twi'lek left as Susan went back to work with her friends. She didn't see why rebuilding something would be wrong as Earth always rebuilt buildings after an incident occurred with bloodshed. Plus, if the spirits of Jedi did haunt them, they could explain why they were rebuilding and see what they got to say about it.
A month had passed, and they finally got all the debris out of the temple and they could see the damage inside was bad. Susan had wondered how they were going to get anything rebuilt the wall were badly scorched and the floors had to be redone. Tessa was on her data pad looking for how to make bricks. This way at least they wouldn't have to worry about it decaying. The three were stuck as they knew how houses were built on Earth and wondered if that would be the best route of action. Aaron also brought up that they could use the rocks from the abandon droid area that they had found a few days in there investigating the land. They had also talked to the Twi'lek settlers and their Queen, who was on their side about rebuilding the temple. They had told them that they would help but only on the outside as the inside should only be done by the Jedi.
A week later they saw some of the Twi'leks come by with different type of tools in their hands which the padawan's were happy to see and told them that they were grateful and would give them back when they were done. One of the Twi'lek men said, "It's a gift from us we built these tools for you three as we have our own."
All three padawan's thanked them as they looked at the temple with a look of how are, we going to pull this off. Suddenly they heard what sounded like a ship and saw a republic gunship. Tessa easily played shuttle guide and had them land on a landing platform that they had right outside the temple. The three stood next to the ship as it shut down and the doors on the side opened for them to see some clone troopers and Master Fisto and Master Windu. Susan smiled at them and said, "Welcome to Tython, where there is nothing around except some rusty droids, a Twi'lek village, and a destroy temple that the council wants repaired."
Fisto went up to his padawan and pulled on her braid and said, "Enough sass Padawan. We were able to smuggle you supplies. Susan saw 187th legion start to bring out wood and other supplies they would need to rebuild the temple. Susan was happy as they didn't see many trees and they were all sure that a fire would work to make bricks. Fisto looked at the temple and said, "I agree padawan the temple does look to be in rough shape."
Susan replied, "I told you that but the council replied that we had to rebuild it please tell us that you guys have reconsidered this decision and we don't have to do it."
Fisto replied, "Padawan what do you think? If we decided against rebuilding, then why would Mace and I bring you supplies."
Susan replied, "I was afraid you would say that. I just hoped for the best and ask."
Fisto laughed as he helps bring out the last of the wooden planks for the three padawans. As the master and clone troopers left with the three padawans glaring at them for not staying to help with the repairs. They were only glad that they did get supplies. Of course, they had to chase Aaron out of the gunship before they took off. Aaron didn't want this mission and was trying to get out of it since it was not ideal for any of them. They decided just to throw a tarp on the woods and start work on the temple tomorrow since it was close to five pm and they were tired.
As they worked throughout the months, they could see that the temple was looking better than ever on the outside and they were ready to work on the inside. Both Susan and Aaron had already did all the wiring and plumbing and all it need was the installation that Fisto had brought over a few months ago. Susan and Aaron were holding up the installation as Tessa was stapling it into the wall once they finished the side, they would put the inside wall up and get it secured. Then they went to do the other walls. Sadly, it took them almost three weeks to do the whole temple. Aaron could tell that all three were growing strong from all the manual labor and Susan thought that since they were here and working on this project together that they really were learning patience.
It was about two years later that they had finally finished the Jedi temple and they were pleased. Thankfully, they didn't have too much to redo since they kept the structure and only rebuilt what was necessary. The only thing that they couldn't do was savage any of the furniture. When Susan had told the council that in their weekly chats Ki-Adi was fine with the results and told the young padawans not to worry about it and they could come back.
A week later they arrived back to the Jedi Temple and were glad to see Anakin and Obi-wan waiting for them as they landed. Anakin looked at the three and smirked as he saw that all three had gained muscles from all the manual labor they had to do. They were shock to know that Susan and Tessa were good at hunting down food as well as home repair. While Aaron was good at fishing and home repairs. The three never wanted to do any type of home repairs for a while. As they told the council about the success of the mission Susan went to go take a long hot bath. Fisto came back two hours later to his room to realize Susan was still in the bath and knocked on the door. Susan heard the knock and said, "I'm getting out now don't worry I haven't drowned but when you don't have working hot water you don't want to get out when you do."
Fisto smiled as he saw his padawan drying her hair as she came out dressed. He said, "The council is giving you guys the week off, but they want to see you three tomorrow morning."
Susan looked at him suspiciously and said, "What is the deal master?"
Fisto replied, "I am not allowed to tell my young Padawan."
Susan and her friends were happy to fit their bed when they were clean and feed. The three were out as their heads hit their pillow that night.
The next day Susan wanted to sleep in since she had a nice comfortable bed that she hadn't had for a year and a half but Fisto came in and basically bugged her until she started to get out of bed. She got up and grabbed her clothes as she changed into her padawan uniform and went to find something to eat while glaring at her master for making her get up a seven in the morning.
As they left their rooms Susan being a little more awake and put together followed her master to the council room. She was shocked when Yoda told her to bow and granted her the position of Jedi Master. Susan smiled when Fisto helped her up after cutting her braid off and said, "One question, I thought you had to go through trails to become a Jedi Knight before being even a master?"
Mace said, "You normally would but we thought that since we kind of forced you to rebuild the temple with just Tessa and Aaron so we decided that since you three success that all three of you should be granted the rank of masters."
Susan replied, "Not bragging but that is a nice reward for that."
After Susan was done, they called Aaron in as he was the closest one to them now seeing as Tessa still wasn't out of bed even though Susan kept trying to call her on the commlink. She figured if she couldn't get Tessa to answer by the time Aaron was given the rank of master she would go and personally wake Tessa up.
Aaron was wondering why he was being called to the council room. He had fallen asleep before Windu came back the night before and was hoping that they were not giving him another mission he needs a vacation that was for sure. He was tired and just wanted to relax especially after the three had accidently walked into Flesh Raiders territory. Let's just say that he was grateful that Susan was there because without her being so bad ass duel wielding, he was sure that they would not be here today.
As he walked in, he noticed that Susan was sitting next to the wall trying to get Tessa to answer which from the look of relief on his friends face she must have finally answered. All he heard was Susan telling her to get dressed and come to the council chambers immediately. Now he was worried it was another mission until Mace came up to him and told him to bow.
After he was finished, they only had to wait a minute for Tessa to show up. She was still obviously exhausted and looked like she wanted to go back to bed and probably will after this, but she didn't care. Yoda told her to bow and they did the same process as the other two. Tessa didn't hear when they granted her the rank of master, but it finally clicked in Aaron that he was at the highest rank that a Jedi could get. All three decided for right that moment they were all going back to bed when Yoda told them that they had the next week off.
Susan got back to her room with Fisto who had told her that he would help her move into her new apartments if she was up to it. Susan nodded as one she didn't know where her new apartments were and two, she knew that she wouldn't be able to go back to sleep. She was one that never could take a nap once she was up, she was up for the day. As the two moved her stuff she wasn't surprised to see that she was just down the hall from her previous master. He smiled at her and said, "I knew these rooms were available and I would still like to keep an eye on you since you are like a daughter to me."
Susan nodded as she walked in, she knew that Fisto saw her as a daughter and she had seen him like another father. Fisto did remind her of her own father just one with a better sense of humor. Fisto walked in knowing that in the next few hours or at the latest next day the two rooms next to hers would have her friends living in them. The council made sure that the three would be next to each other since if you found one the other two would be close at hand unless they were on a mission or sleeping.
Fisto was right by dinner time both Tessa and Aaron were moved into their new apartments. They were all eating dinner in the cafeteria with Anakin telling them about some of his earlier missions that he was on along with what happen to his former padawan. Tessa said, "No disrespect Annie, but what was the council thinking letting you have a padawan."
Anakin laughed as he thought the same thing in the beginning but after a while, he had to agree that he enjoyed teaching Ashoka.
Susan sighed and said, "What was your padawan's name and why haven't we met yet?"
Anakin replied, "Her name is Ashoka and right now she is on a mission with another master that asked for her assistance."
Susan nodded as she knew that most of the time depending on the padawan and master the padawan could be passed to another master or knight for a mission if all in the party agreed. Obi-wan rarely agreed to let Anakin got with another master something about Anakin is completely reckless when it came to missions. Even as he was knighted Obi-wan normally went with him on missions making Susan wonder if Anakin really a knight or a padawan pretending to be a knight.
Aaron said, "I hope the council doesn't give me a padawan right away. I know that it can be rewarding but I know for a fact I am not ready."
Tessa smacked him upside the head and said, "Don't be stupid Aaron. We are freshly made masters and as such there is no way that council would give us our own padawan just yet. Plus, we only made masters because the council felt bad for making us restore that damn jedi temple."
Anakin was amused that his friends were still ticked about the mission that took over a year to complete. Then again, he would have probably complained a whole lot more than they did. Nobody but the three and the council knew what planet they were at, but they all knew what the mission was. Susan rolled her eyes at her friends as she walked away to watch the trainees.
Susan was on the viewing platform watching the trainees she smiled as she watched the group that she had helped here and there a few years ago. She had been bored one day and asked the training master if she could help train them. He had agreed knowing that it would help this padawan with idea's on how to train her own padawan when she became knighted. He had her help the youngest group and she was proud that most of them took what she told them to heart. Fisto joined her and said, "If you really want to you can help a few classes or if you feel connected to one then take them as a padawan. The only reason why we gave one to Anakin was to teach him some responsibility."
Susan stared at him and said, "No wonder why Obi-wan tells you to send him with them Annie has a hard enough time getting himself in and out of trouble then you give him a padawan on top of that. Now I'm sure the council is crazy, even I would have not given Anakin a padawan just yet."
Fisto smiled at her outburst because he had argued the same thing but then again Anakin and Ashoka were exactly what the other needed at the time and Anakin hadn't changed in the slightest even though he will stop and think sometimes if it will put Ashoka in danger.
Susan got up as the class ended and said, "I for one love teaching but I'm not sure I want the extra pressure of having a padawan."
Fisto smirked as he knew that Susan was ready but didn't want to deal with that. He decided to see if the council could help him get a padawan for Susan like they did for Anakin, but it might have to wait a few weeks. He knew that Susan would take it better than Anakin did. He knew that both Tessa and Aaron weren't ready.
Susan was training in one of training rooms with two training lightsabers she had made two knew lightsabers when she was Tython when she read how the Jedi had made them and she really wanted to see the forge. She was glad that she was able to do it and both of her lightsabers were now orange instead of the yellow that it uses to be. As she was training, she saw one of the trainee come in and watched her.
Susan looked at her and said, "Can I help you, young one?"
The girl replied, "I was going to practice but I saw you training, and I decided to watch to see if I can use any of those blows to my own style. I hope you didn't mind?"
Susan smiled and said, "Get either one or two lightsabers and well work together to see if your style works with my moves."
The girl nodded as she ran to get two lightsabers and the two started to go into blocks and attack moves as they were side by side.
Adi and Mace had gone by the training rooms when they saw Susan doing some free style exercises with a trainee and smiled at how Susan would stop when the girl was struggling with blocking and would help the girl rearrange her arms or lightsaber. They noticed that the girl was a Cathar. Adi whispered, "Looks like Susan met her padawan when she doesn't actually want one."
Mace whispered back, "Let's go tell the council and start to play put a trainee with their future master."
The two cunning and manipulative masters went unnoticed to the two-training master and trainee.
When the two council members told the council what they saw and believe the council really wanted it to happen. Fisto sighed he knew his ex-padawans belief that she wasn't ready to have a padawan on her own. He agreed with her on that but at the same time they needed more knights, so they were trying to get more single knights and masters to take on the responsibility of teaching a padawan.
Fisto said, "Masters I know for a fact that Susan doesn't feel like she is ready to take on a trainee let's wait a few weeks or at least a month to see where she falls. Plus, this is supposed to be her week off let her enjoy it."
The council nodded as they agreed just because she was helping a trainee didn't technically mean that she wanted a padawan.
As the weeks went by and Susan and her friends were being sent on more missions that used their battle tactics and most time than not how well they were at diplomacy they were realizing things on their own. Susan realized that she was better at security details but also that she could de code many coded letters that they were able to snatch from the enemy. Most of the time she was at the temple working on decoding those messages and telling the council what they said which gave her ample of time to help the young Cathar that she found out was named Reann.
Tessa was always working on enhancing the force, but she was the best tactician that the council had ever seen. She was seen most of the time working with the clones or in the map room trying to figure out what the enemies next move was going to be and how to stop it. Let's just say that when she was in command of an attack she was on par with Anakin and nothing was going to stop her.
Aaron had become the best ground force fighter and led his troops with great leadership. He was the one that took more risks but listen to his troops. He was able to think on his feet, but he was what most video games would call a tank. He would go into battle with a plan that could be changed in a snap.
