Note: Here's chapter seven, so the story is about over. I hope that you all have enjoyed the story and are willing to read and review my later stories. Now then, let's get this show on the road.

Chapter 7: Beauty and the Beast

Down on the Birdway District of Corneria City, a crowd of people were waiting in line to enter the theater. The theater had a sign that read "KLOTZ, the Eighth Wonder of Corneria".

"What is it, anyhow?" One of the patrons, an elk, asked.

"They say that it's sort of a gorilla." Another patron, a raccoon, said.

"Seriously, don't we have enough of them on Corneria?" The elk asked.

A grizzly bear and a white cat were in the crowd as well.

"I hear it's bigger than a house." The bear spoke.

"Does it do tricks or something?" The cat asked as she chewed on gum.

Two fennecs, a married couple, were waiting to enter the theater.

"Sweet Corneria, what a mob." The female fennec said.

"Well, you would come." Her husband said to her, "And the tickets cost me fifty credits."

Inside the theater were Fox and Krystal, who were peering towards the stage. Krystal was wearing a pretty evening dress while Fox was wearing a suit and tie.

"I don't like to look at him, Fox." Krystal spoke, "It makes me feel the way I did during that awful day on the island."

"I wouldn't have brought you," Fox said, "but you know how Wolf insisted."

"Of course we had to come when he said it would help the show. Do you think that we'll make a lot of money, Fox?" The cobalt vixen said.

"Enough to pay him back for these clothes, anyway." The vulpine was fussing with his collar, "I never had an open-face suit before."

Wolf came in, looking excited and important. He was also dressed nicely, wearing a silk hat.

"Hello," Wolf greeted, "you're just on time. You look great, Krystal. Glad I dressed you up for this show. Hello, Fox. Ten-million credits in the box office. How's that for one night?"

"Say! That's money!" Fox said.

"Oh, we're going to do that every night." The lupine stated, "The newspaper boys are coming in now."

A group of reporters and photographers came in and approached the three.

"Miss Bodimead, boys." Wolf gestured to his compatriots, "And Mr. McCloud."

"It was Mr. McCloud who rescued you from the ape, wasn't it?" The first reporter, a Boston terrier, asked Krystal.

"Yes." The cobalt vixen said, "He was alone. All the sailors who were with him had been killed."

"Alone, eh?" The second reporter, a Yorkshire terrier, looked offstage before looking at Fox, "How did you tackle that baby?"

"Aw, O'Donnell's the one that got him." The vulpine modestly said, "The rest of us were running like rabbits, but Wolf had the nerve to stand still and chuck gas bombs at him."

The reporters turned to Wolf.

"No, lay off me." The lupine told them, "Miss Bodimead is the story. If it hadn't been for her, we'd never have got near Klotz. He came back to the village for her."

"Beauty and the Beast, huh?" The third reporter, a bull terrier, asked.

"That's it." The filmmaker said, "Play up that angle. Beauty and the Beast. Klotz could have stayed safe where we'd never have got him, but he couldn't stay away from beauty. That's your story, boys."

"It's a story, all right." The second reporter stated.

"How about a few pictures?" The first photographer, a black panther, asked.

"Wait." Wolf stated, "I want you to take flashlights on the stage in front of the audience. We'll ring the curtain up now, and I'll make a damn good speech. Tell them about Klotz and Miss Bodimead and McCloud. Then when I call you, you all come on and take pictures."

The photographers agreed while Wolf turned to Krystal.

"Come on Krystal." The lupine said to her, "I want you and Fox up there when the curtain goes up."

"Oh no." The cobalt vixen shrank.

"It's all right." The filmmaker assured her, "We've knocked some of the fight out of him since the last time you saw him."

He urged Krystal off, with Fox following her.

The theater was packed, with its patrons intent on seeing what Wolf O'Donnell had brought back with him. The infamous filmmaker appeared on the stage, taking the microphone.

"Ladies and gentlemen," Wolf spoke, "I am here tonight to tell you a strange story. A story so strange that no one will believe it. But, ladies and gentlemen, seeing is believing, and we - I and my partners - have brought back the living proof of our adventure, an adventure in which most of our party met their grisly demise."

As Wolf spoke, the reporters and photographers looked onto the stage.

"Holy Hell, look at that!" The second photographer pointed at what the filmmaker had brought back to Corneria City.

"Hope he's tied up good and plenty." The first photographer said.

"Sure he is." The first reporter said, "O'Donnell's taking no chances."

Back at the front of the stage, Wolf was still addressing the audience.

"And now," he spoke, "ladies and gentlemen, before I tell you more, I am going to show you the greatest thing your eyes have ever beheld. He was a king and a god in the world he knew, but now he comes to civilization merely a captive - a show to gratify your curiosity. Ladies and gentlemen, look at Klotz: the Eighth Wonder of Corneria."

The curtains rose to reveal Klotz on a disclosed platform, looking miserable. The ape was chained-up and fastened to the point where he could only move his head. The audience murmured and exclaimed, with some rising to get a better look.

Wolf continued, "And now I want to introduce Krystal Bodimead: the bravest girl I have ever known."

The audience applauded as Krystal came out to the stage.

"There's the Beast," Wolf gestured towards Klotz and Krystal, "and here's the Beauty. She has lived through an experience no other woman has ever dreamed of. And she was rescued from the very grasp of Klotz by her future husband. I want you to meet a very brave gentleman, Mr. Fox McCloud."

Fox came out to the stage and bowed awkwardly. The audience applauded when they saw him.

"Now," Wolf said, "before I tell you the full story of our voyage, I am going to ask the gentlemen of the press to come forward, so that the audience might have the privilege of seeing them take the first photographs of Klotz and his captors."

He then beckoned for the reporters and the photographers to come up to the stage, which they did.

"Miss Bodimead first, alone." The lupine said, turning towards Krystal, "Stand in front of Klotz, Krystal."

The vixen reluctantly did so.

"That's it, that's near enough." The first photographer told her.

"Ready." The second photographer, a tiger, spoke, "Hold it. Smile, please."

The flashlights went off, which caused Klotz to roar. The giant gorilla was angry, not liking what was going on. Krystal looked around in terror, letting out a startled cry.

"Don't worry, ladies and gentlemen." Wolf assured the audience, "Those chains are made of chrome steel. He can't move."

The flashlights went off again, which made Klotz roar again. The ape believed that they were gunshots being fired at him. Krystal covered her face while Fox stepped forward to her.

"It's alright, Krys." The vulpine assured.

"Get them together, boys. They're going to be married tomorrow." Wolf told the photographers.

"Put your arm around her, McCloud." The first photographer said.

Fox did so as the flashlights went off again, causing Klotz to roar again while struggling at the chains that bound him. Krystal hid her face against Fox in response.

"Hey, wait a minute!" Wolf said, realizing why Klotz was roaring, "Wait a minute! Hold on! He thinks that your attacking the girl!"

"Ah, let him roar!" The first photographer said, "It's a swell picture!"

The photographers continued to carelessly take pictures, not knowing that Klotz was about to reach his breaking point. Roaring, the massive ape then broke his chains in half!

"IT'S LOOSE!!!" The first reporter screamed.

Everyone stood paralyzed as Klotz beat his chest and roared. Without hesitation, Fox grabbed Krystal and rushed for the door. The reporters and the attendants ran for safety while panicking. Klotz roared again, walking across the arena.

Outside of the theater were Fox and Krystal, who were running down the street.

"The hotel!" Fox cried, "Across the street!"

As they ran to the hotel, Klotz walked out of the theater. The huge gorilla was now in a new environment, as it was full of creatures he had never seen before. He then proceeded to grab every vixen and bite down on every tod he came across, but none of them resembled his Bride or the creature who took him from her. He then came up to the hotel, where he saw Krystal and Fox in an elevator. Krystal was clinging to Fox in panic, so it made Klotz mad. The giant proceeded to climb up the building, occasionally scaring someone who saw him. That didn't matter to him, as he was desperate to have his Bride back.

Fox and Krystal rushed into a hotel room, with Fox slamming the door. Krystal clung to him before collapsing on the bed, crying and gasping. Fox knelt down beside her.

"Hush, Krystal." He gently said, "Hush, darling. It's all right. You're safe here."

Klotz grabbed a vixen out of her hotel room, dropping her when he realized that she wasn't Krystal. He continued to climb the building, looking for his Bride.

Krystal sat up on her bed while Fox was still kneeling beside her.

"We'll stay here, dear." Fox said, "I won't leave you. They'll get him. It's all right."

"It's like a horrible dream." Krystal gasped, "It's like being back on the island."

Fox put his arms around her. However, Klotz appeared in the window, causing Krystal to scream. The gorilla then smashed the window, reaching in for the cobalt vixen. In response, Fox attacked the beast's hand with a chair. Annoyed, Klotz swatted him away and grabbed Krystal, pulling the shrieking vixen out of the window. Fox staggered to the window, looking up after the massive ape and began to rush out of the room.

Fox opened the door and staggered out, almost colliding with Wolf.

"Fox!" The lupine said, "He's climbing up, outside there."

"He's got Krystal." Fox said, "He's taking her up."

"The roof! Quick!" Wolf shouted.

The two ran to the roof, where they saw Klotz going over another roof with Krystal in his clutches. He then went out of sight.

"What will we do?" Wolf asked.

"Fire Department searchlights." Fox turned to leave the roof, "They'll keep him in sight."

Crowds of people and policemen were in utter awe as Klotz went through Corneria City with Krystal. The firemen were using searchlights to find Klotz, but he turned back when they saw him. The ape had already destroyed a train he mistook for a snake, so the people of Corneria were more desperate to see him brought down. Knowing that there were too many creatures bothering him, Klotz then decided to search for a place high enough so that no one would bother him and his Bride.

At the Police Station, Wolf and Fox were pacing the floor while the Sergeant, a black cat, was talking on the phone.

"Yes?" The Sergeant spoke into the phone, "Yes ... No, not yet. Headquarters is broadcasting the reports."

He hung up before the radio came on.

"Klotz, the giant ape, is still at large." A voice on the radio said, "He has not been seen since midnight. Corneria City is aroused. We are hoping for a report at any moment."

Fox sat down, groaning as he put his head in his hands. Wolf rested a hand on the vulpine's shoulder.

"Snap out of it, Fox." The lupine told him, "They're bound to find him when morning comes."

"I can't do anything." The vulpine said, "Krystal's out there, somewhere -"

"But we're pretty sure he won't hurt her." Wolf said.

"He may have dropped her." Fox was fearing the worst, "She may be lying somewhere."

"Attention, all stations!" The voice on the radio shouted, "Klotz has been seen again. He is on the roofs of the warehouses at 24th Street. He is going towards the East River. He is still carrying Krystal Bodimead."

Fox leapt up, clutching Wolf. The phone on the Sergeant's desk rang, so he picked it up.

"Yes?" The cat spoke into the phone, "Yes, the report just came in ... I don't know. What can we do without killing the girl, too?"

"If he puts Krystal down -" Wolf said.

"It'll be sunlight in an hour. Keep him in sight." The Sergeant said before hanging up the phone.

"Klotz is going west." The radio rang out, "He is working his way to the Birdway Communications Tower."

"If he goes up there, what can we do?" Wolf asked the Sergeant.

"We won't be able to get near him." The Sergeant said.

"Klotz is climbing the Birdway Communications Tower." The radio stated, "He is still carrying Krystal Bodimead."

"Well, that licks us." Wolf said.

"There's one thing that hasn't been tried." Fox stated.

"What?" The Sergeant asked.

"Arwings." The vulpine said, "If he should put Krystal down -if they could fly near enough to pick him off - without hitting Krystal -"

"You're right!" The black cat said, "Arwings -as soon as it's daylight -"

The Sergeant turned to his phone and started to call while Fox and Wolf watched on.

Klotz had finished climbing up the Birdway Communications Tower with Krystal, having reached the top. The ape carefully put his Bride down before beating his chest. Little did he know, an Arwing squadron was flying towards the building, one of the pilots giving a signal to the rest of the squadron. Down at the bottom of the Birdway Communications Tower, a crowd was around the the entrance with the police holding them back. Fox, Wolf, and two police officers pushed their way through the crowd, pausing at the door.

"Here come the Arwings." Wolf spoke.

"They'll get him." A police officer, who was a Dalmatian, said.

"Can they shoot him and not hit Krystal?" Fox asked before he began to go inside.

"Hold on." The Dalmatian officer said, "Don't you get on that roof too."

"Give the pilots a chance, Fox." Wolf told him.

The four went into the building. At the top of the Birdway Communications Tower, Klotz turned and looked up at an Arwing. Beating his chest and roaring, the ape snatched the Arwing and threw it to the street, which destroyed it. After that, the rest of the Arwings began to fire at Klotz, the plasma bullets hitting him. The massive gorilla staggered, not being prepared for the next attack. This fatally wounded him, causing him to bleed.

Coughing, Klotz looked down at his wounds. He then looked at Krystal, reaching towards her in an attempt to pick her up. More Arwings zoomed down as the giant ape stood erect, drumming on his chest. The Arwings swept by, firing at the massive beast. He staggered, turned slowly, and toppled off the roof. Klotz then fell down to the street below, landing near the burning Arwing.

Krystal lie on the ledge until Fox, Wolf, and two policemen came near her. Upon getting to her, Fox wildly kissed Krystal, talking to her.

"Krystal!" Fox spoke, "Krys, are you alright? Oh, my darling, are you sure you're not hurt?"

While the couple was reunited, Wolf and the Dalmatian officer looked down at the fallen Klotz.

"Well," the Dalmatian officer said after drawing a long breath, "looks like the Arwings got him."

"Oh no," Wolf said, "it wasn't the Arwings. It was Beauty killed the Beast."

Note: Decent ending, am I right? This story was essentially written after I watched the original King Kong and read the script. I decided to write this after I noticed that I didn't really do a good job on Eighth Wonder of Corneria. I'm going to delete that one and Son of Klotz after I publish the next chapter of this story, which is the voice cast that could be used if this became an actual thing. I know, it's a little late to write a story like this. What did you guys think about this chapter? Let me know when you leave a review or give a constructive criticism stating what you like and what you don't like. Until next time guys, peace!
