Episode 9 – Robo Knight
The red ranger fights against the robot warrior. He is being knocked around the warehouse. Troy falls to the ground as the robot steps on his back.
"Do you give up?" the robot enquires.
"Never," Troy answers back.
"Very well." The robot kicks the red ranger as he demorphs. The red ranger gets back to his feet and charges at the monster unmorphed. He is able to land a blow against him. The other rangers run into the warehouse. Troy turns to them, holding onto the robot around his waist.
"Stay back guys, I got this," Troy orders the rangers. The robot continues to hit back at Troy, knocking him into a barrel. "There's got to be some good left in you."
"I only have my mission," the robot answers back.
"You're mission is to protect the Earth, not destroy it," Troy argues with him.
"Robo Knight, you don't have to do this," Jake shouts at him.
"Troy, let us help," Emma insists.
"I can reach him." The battle continues but Troy is knocked back towards the rangers. He regains his footing and looks at the robot, his black visor burning through the red ranger.
"Robo Knights," Troy screams with anguish. "You have a mission to fulfil!"
"Your destruction," Robo Knight shouts back. As Troy stands in frustration, energy begins to surround the red ranger. He channels all his power into his fist, punching the robot back. Robo Knight is hit back and collapses to the ground.
Troy jumps up, in his bed.
"Another dream?" Troy says to himself. He sits up on the end of his bed. "Robo Knight? Is that who we fight next?" Troy lies back down, wide awake from what he has seen.
At school the next day, Troy wanders the halls fixated on his dream from the night before. He meets the rest of the rangers, but is still pre-occupied.
"What's up with you?" Gia asks him.
"Just had a weird dream last night," Troy answers. "You know what it's like."
"Were you falling for Emma?" Gia jokes at him. Troy is stunned and looks at Emma, whose face is now as pink as her helmet.
"Gia, shut up," the pink ranger shouts at her friend. Gia laughs while Noah just looks nervous.
"What was the dream about Troy?" Noah asks, trying to divert the conversation to something he can contribute to.
"I was fighting a robot," Troy begins. "But it was weird. It was like he was our friend. I wanted to stop him, not defeat him." The rangers look on as he explains.
"Maybe the battle isn't as over as we had hoped," Emma responds. "Maybe you should speak to Gosei about this?"
"I don't think it's anything," Troy says. "After all, it's just a dream." Troy knows he is lying to his team, but doesn't want to share until he understands more.
It's been a few weeks since their battle with Malkor and they defeated the Warstar. The city has been quiet and the rangers have managed to rest up from the final series of battles. But they still don't know if their battle is over.
At an abandoned waste dump on the outskirts of town, two monsters appear. They enter their main room and throw down two weapons, a black staff with a red orb and a white sword. The first is a furry monster, with his ribs exposed on the outside of his body wielding a club like weapon. The second closely resembles a mutated jellyfish, wielding a staff weapon.
"Silly Duke Orgs," the furry monster states at the fallen weapons.
"The fact that they have been roaming the world for over ten years is an embarrassment to Orgs everywhere," his counterpart laments. "It is time for the orgs to finally take over the world." The furry monster pulls out two energy balls, one blue and the other purple.
"I will use their energy to bring this monster back to life," he states as he stands over a badly burned monster. He places the energy into the monster as he comes back to life. "Our fallen brother will rise again." The fallen monster glows with the energy as his skins begins to reform.
On an island in the sky, the events that are unfolding are felt. A woman in white, asleep on the ground, awakens. A rock containing water begins to boil over. The woman walks over to the water as it calms down, revealing the two monster. The woman is horrified by the sight of the monsters.
"I must investigate," she says to herself. She disappears in white vapour and reappears outside of the dump. "This is awful. I thought the Earth had moved past this."
At the Power Chamber, Gosei and Alpha are watching the woman at the plant.
"Alpha," Gosei begins. "Call the rangers and teleport that woman to the Power Chamber." Alpha looks up at the mentor.
"Bring her here?" Alpha confirms the order.
"At once," Gosei replies.
At the dump, the woman is teleported directly to the chamber. She is met by the five rangers, Alpha and Gosei. She raises her hands prepared to defend herself.
"Who are you? Why have you abducted me?" the woman states forcefully.
"Princess Shayla," Gosei begins. "My name is Gosei, this is my assistant Alpha. And these are the Power Rangers." The woman maintains her stance as she looks on at these strangers.
"Power Rangers?" the woman replies. "That tells me who you are, but not why I am here?"
"I sense the dark energy coming from the dump as you did," Gosei informs the princess. "I thought we should discuss the situation."
"Someone want to fill us in?" Gia says to the room. The Princess looks on and finally relaxes her stance.
"My name is Princess Shayla," she begins. "I am Guardian of the Animarium. My awakening can only mean one thing, the Orgs have returned."
"Orgs?" Noah asks.
"Beastly monsters who tried to take over the world over 3000 years ago," she continues.
"They returned to the Earth just over ten years ago," Gosei adds. "They were thought to be defeated by the Wild Force rangers.
"Wild Force?" Jake looks confused.
"The Wild Force Power Rangers," Noah explains excitedly. "They stopped fighting once they defeated Master Org. I remember reading about them. The orgs attacked Turtle Cove."
"You know a lot," Shayla says to Noah. He looks back at her shyly, his excitement somewhat subsiding.
"I read everything about the rangers when I was growing up," he responds.
"So the orgs weren't defeated?" Troy asks Gosei.
"It would appear not," the mentor states. "I felt energy spiking over the last few days. I did not want to call you until I had more answers. The arrival of Princess Shayla confirmed my suspicions."
"I must call the Wild Force rangers at once," the Princess states.
"I must ask you not to do that," Gosei says. The rangers look confused at this, as does Princess Shayla.
"The Wild Force Rangers are the Guardians of the Earth, there mission is to protect the Earth against the orgs. I cannot leave it in the hands of another ranger team."
"I understand your concern," Gosei begins. "But if you were to call on your rangers, that would mean we would have 11 active rangers at one time. The Orgs may be forced to escalate the battle well beyond their current plans. We cannot risk that."
"You could ask your team to stand down." The rangers look at each other. Jake steps forward.
"No offense lady," he replies to the Princess. "But if the world was in danger, we would fight. We can't just stand down."
"This is exactly as I thought," Gosei replies. "I must ask you to allow us to deal with the upcoming threat. Call your rangers and have them on standby. If we are unable to fight them, we will call them in to help. You can monitor our progress from here." The Princess does not look convinced, but decides to relent.
"I will return to the Animarium and discuss with my rangers," she replies. "But the second I believe we are needed, your team will stand down."
"Agreed," Gosei replies. "Thank you Princess Shayla." She nods at the giant head and towards the rangers.
"Good luck rangers," Shayla states as she transports herself out of the Power Chamber. The rangers are not really sure what just happened.
"So these orgs are powerful?" Emma asks Gosei.
"That's correct Emma," Gosei replies. "They are powerful beasts. I believe they were awoken during the battle with Malkor. When he was defeated, an energy wave passed through the city. I think that woke up the beasts." An alarm begins to sound in the Power Chamber. "Rangers, a monster has appeared in the city. Get there now." The rangers nod and acknowledge, pulling out their morphers.
"It's morphing time," Troy shouts. They place their power cards into their morphers and close them.
"Go Go Mega Force." The rangers morph and teleport to the city.
The rangers run into the city to see the new monster that has appeared. It is a snake like monster, with purple tubules coming out of his body.
"Woah, he's a weird looking monster," Troy states. The monster laughs at the rangers.
"Your species has had its day rangers," the monster replies. "I'll take you down with my toxic venom. It's time to destroy some humans."
"You won't be destroying anyone," Troy states as the rangers prepare themselves for battle. From behind the monster, the two monsters from earlier appear.
"You puny humans think you can stop us?" The jellyfish monster says. "The Orgs are unstoppable."
"I can't wait to bash these little runts," the furry monster adds. "I'll stomp you all into dust."
"How did these monsters becomes so toxic?" Emma asks.
"You left your planet to rot," the jellyfish adds. "The pollution allowed us to grow stronger as we slept. We missed the battle against the humans 10 years ago. So we'll take extra pleasure in taking you down right now."
"We're going to finish your destruction of this planet," the other monster adds.
"We'll never let you harm the Earth, or its people," the yellow ranger snaps back.
"Hisser, get them," the jellyfish shouts. The snake monster jumps through the rangers, knocking them to the ground. They jump back up and Hisser jumps in again. Noah intercepts his attack kicking him away.
"I've got this one," Noah shouts and he moves to engage.
"We'll take the blobby one," Troy says about him and Emma.
"That leaves big foot for us," Jake says as he and Gia pull their weapons. Jake and Gia attack but struggle against the power of his club. He knocks Gia back before turning his attention to Jake.
Troy charges at the monster, striking him with his Dragon Sword. The sword just sticks into the monster though as he laughs.
"Hey, that tickles," he retorts. Troy pulls his sword out and tries to attack, but the monster turns into sludge like matter to avoid the attacks. Troy has no luck hitting him.
"Shark Bowgun," Noah calls his attack as he targets Hisser. Noah is the only one having any luck with the battle. The gets in close and uses his weapon to keep the snake at bay.
Gia jumps and tries to attack her target, but he grabs her as she gets close.
"Is that the best you could do?" he taunts Gia as he throws her away from him. Jake charges using his axe. The monster clobbers Jake with his axe, also knowing him away.
"Jake, are you okay?" Gia asks.
"Yeah, it's the double club," Jake replies. "We have to try and get it away from him."
"Slither Spit," Hisser fires his venom towards Noah. He rolls to the ground to avoid the attack. As he gets back to his feet, the monster is gone.
"Where did he go?" Noah can't find the monster. The ground beneath him begins to shake. Hisser appears from beneath Noah knocking him out from where he was standing.
The jellyfish monster uses its belly to bounce Troy away from him. Emma steps in with her weapon.
"Phoenix Shot," she fires the weapon right at him. The energy blast folds into the monster.
"It's no good rangers, I'll always bounce back," the monster retorts as he fires the blast back at the pink ranger. The rangers are all knocked back together.
"These rangers are weaker than I thought they would be," the furry monster states.
"And with the levels of pollution, we will continue to grow stronger," the jellyfish adds. The rangers look stunned. From behind them, Hisser jumps from the ground and fires his venom towards the rangers. They are all hit and struggle with the venom over them, knocking them the ground. Their powers are covered in a black sludge.
"I can't move," Troy shouts.
"This stuff is tough," Jake adds. Hisser readies himself to attack again. The rangers struggle to their feet.
"We defeated Malkor, we won't be beaten now," Gia says.
"Get them," Troy shouts. The rangers charge once more. The rangers struggle through the battle with the monster. With the venom over them, they don't stand a chance though. Emma and Noah fire their weapons at him and Troy tries to attack with is sword. The monster disappears again. Hisser jumps from below Troy taking him out, jumping back into the ground through Emma and Noah and comes back through Jake and Gia. All five rangers are taken out once again. They manage to get back to their feet.
"These humans are more resilient than I thought they would be," Hisser states.
"Perhaps a ball of toxic fire would change that," the jellyfish replies. A ball of purple energy appears in front of the monster. He fires it at the rangers, knocking them back once more.
"Now my slithery slatherly slime will finish you off forever," Hisser taunts the fallen rangers.
A ball of light appears through the air, passing the rangers and knocking over the monster. It comes to the ground. A shadowy figure appears from the light.
"Who is that?" Gia asks.
The figure begins to move, sounding mechanical.
"Or what is that?" Emma adds. From the shadows, the rangers can see the Mega Force symbol on top of the figures head.
"It's our symbol," Jake says. Troy recognised the robot from his dream. His chest is embossed with a lion, a mostly black body with silver armour on its legs and arms. The visor is red, unlike the figure in Troy's dream, whose was black.
"Where did he come from?" the jellyfish asks.
"I don't know, but I know where he is going," the fellow org adds.
"Stand down Orgs," the figure shouts to the monsters. "I will give you one warning. I am Robo Knight, protector of the environment and Guardian of the Earth."
"So he's on our side?" Troy is still unsure.
"My slime will take care of you," Hisser shouts, releasing a large amount of venom towards Robo Knight. The robot speeds back, avoiding the slime.
"I don't think so," Robo Knight shouts to the monster. He summons his blaster and fires at Hisser, who is no match for the powerful weapon. Hisser takes a lot of damage.
"A super robot?" Noah looks on in amazement.
"He's super powerful," Troy says. "If he's on our side, we'll stand a chance.
"We can't with this slime all over us," Jake laments.
"I can take care of that," Noah replies. He pulls out his morpher. "Sea Shower card." Noah closes his morpher and a stream of water appears, clearing him and the rangers of the slime."
"Great work, Noah," Troy says. "Let's do it guys." The rangers ready themselves once again. They charge at the two beasts. Emma and Noah take the lead and fire blasts at the monsters. Gia and Jake jump onto their shoulders and roll in to attack.
"Land Strike," the yellow and black rangers shout as they strike the monsters with their weapons. Their attacks don't do any damage.
"Dragon Sword," Troy declares his attack as he tries to gain the upper hand against the beasts.
"Underground attack," Hisser shouts as travels towards Robo Knight beneath the surface. Robo Knight converts his blaster to a blade. He thrusts the blade into the ground.
"You will go no further," Robo Knight shouts. "Return to the surface." He pulls the sword out of the ground, bringing Hisser with him. As Hisser flails in the air, Robo Knight slashes through the monster. Robo Knight powers up and delivers and fatal strike against Hisser.
"Sky Strike," Troy jumps to the air and uses his final attack, barely affecting the monsters. Troy pulls out the Sky Brothers power card and puts it into his morpher.
"Sky Brothers," the sky zords appear from the card, along with the Dragon and Phoenix. The rangers attach the headers to their mega blasters.
"Crow Blaster," the black ranger shouts.
"Phoenix Blaster," the pink ranger shouts.
"Dragon Blaster," the red ranger shouts.
"Ptera Blaster," the yellow ranger shouts.
"Hawk Blaster," the blue ranger shouts.
"Sky Blast," the rangers call out. They fire their weapons and the energy combines in one massive blast. The monsters are finally knocked back.
"I'm going to pulverise these runts," the furry monster shouts.
"Not now," the jellyfish shouts. "We must return and recharge our power, we can't get over our heads. The next time we meet,"
"Prepare to be destroyed," the furry monster finishes. The two monsters teleport from the battle field.
"They're gone," Noah shouts.
"Except the snake," Jake says, looking over the battle with Robo Knight.
"Slither Spin," the monster spins through the air and knocks Robo Knight into the wall.
"Looks like my Slither Spin move was too much for you to handle metal man," Hisser gloats.
"Negative," Robo Knight gets up from the rubble. "It is time to neutralise you." Robo Knight pulls out a mobile phone type device. He place it onto his blaster and places a power card on it.
"Vulcan Cannon," Robo Knight shouts. A round of bullets appears in Robo Knight's hand as he attaches it to his blaster. He pulls another card and place it in his weapon.
"Knight Dynamic," Robo Knight calls his attack. The weapon powers up and fires towards Hisser.
"Hey, wait!" the monster shouts in fear. Robo Knight's blast fires towards to the snake org and explodes.
"Threat eliminated," Robo Knight calls an end to the battle.
"He used power cards," Troy sounds shocked.
"Just like ours," Gia adds.
"Who is this guy?" Jake asks. The rangers run over to join the robotic warrior.
"Hey, thanks Robo Knight," Troy thanks their new comrade.
"Yeah, you stopped that monster cold," Emma asks.
""Evil spirits of toil and strife. Give this fallen Org new life," a voice hails over the battle field. Hisser reforms and grows to its giant form. The rangers look on in horror.
"No way," Emma shouts.
"I thought they needed the zombats to grow?" Noah asks.
"The orgs must have another way," Troy says to his team.
"The Earth ends now," Hisser shouts over the cityscape. "And I'm not just bigger, I'm badder." Hisser transforms into a tank form, his long snake like neck continuing to stick out from the front of it. It drives through the city and fires its venom towards the rangers, knocking them back.
"Stay back," Robo Knight steps forward. "Do not interfere." Robo Knight pulls his cell phone morpher from his belt and pulls out a power card. He puts the card into his morpher and enters the code 171. He slams the morpher shut and pushes it forward. "Change Card."
Robo Knight glows with energy and changes into the Lion Header. It then grows to the size of the other zord headers.
"Wow," Troy looks on in wonder.
"That's incredible," Emma concurs. The Lion Header rushes towards to the monster, battering into it and sending it back. The Header turns back around and connects to a dump truck, forming its full zord form. The new zord races back to the battle site.
"I will stop the orgs from damaging the environment," Robo Knight declares as he charges.
"Keep coming," Hisser retorts. "You're about to be scorched and torched." Hisser fires blasts towards Robo Knight, narrowly missing.
"Time to rock your world," Hisser shouts as he turns around. He knocks boulders into the zord, but he charges right through it.
"What?" Hisser is shocked his attacks are having no effect on the powerful zord. Robo Knight spins round and knocks the monster back.
"Robo Charge," the robot declares as he knocks the monster causing considerable damage. Hisser returns to his humanoid form and gets back to his feet.
"Wow, Robo Knight is incredible," Troy can't believe he's holding the monster back on his own.
"Eh, can we talk?" Hisser realises he can't win.
"The time to talk is over," Robo Knight shouts back. "My mission is to protect the Earth." Missiles appear from the tyres on Robo Knight's zord.
"Victory Charge," Robo Knight calls for his final strike. The zord gathers energy is it's month, firing it out toward the monster. It traps the monster in place and Robo Knight fires the missiles. "Victory Strike." The weapons fire into the monster. He is knocked to the ground and explodes.
Robo Knight detaches from his zord and morphs back into his robot form. He lands into the park, where the unmorphed rangers rush in to greet him.
"Great job Robo Knight," Noah admires his new comrade.
"We're lucky you got there when you did," Emma states.
"Yeah," Jake adds. "Saved me from having to destroy them all myself." Troy takes a step forward.
"It's good to have you on the team," Troy extends his hand for Robo Knight to shake. He looks down at Troy's hand, but doesn't shake the hand.
"I not your enemy Power Rangers," Robo Knight begins. "But that does not mean that I am your friend either." Robo Knight walks away from the rangers as they look on in shock.
"What's his deal?" Gia asks, crossing her arms in frustration.
"I don't know," Emma replies. "But I think we need to speak to Gosei." The rangers nod in agreement.
Back at the waste dump, the orgs are lamenting their monsters defeat.
"Damnit," the Jellyfish monster shouts. "He was supposed to destroy the rangers, not make them stronger."
"We need to recycle that tin can and destroy the other rangers," the furry monster replies.
"Maybe our new Duke Org will have more success than Hisser had," the jellyfish states. The monsters look to a dark corner of their chamber, two white eyes become visible in the darkness.
In the Power Chamber, the rangers are eager to get some answers from Gosei.
"Do you know anything about these monsters?" Emma asks.
"And what about Robo Knight?" Gia adds.
"Can we morph into zords as well?" Noah asks, but takes some looks from the others.
"Rangers," Gosei replies. "I will try and answer all of your questions. The monsters are called Biggs and Bluefur. They are called General Orgs, second in command of Orgs and answering only to Master Org. From what I can understand, they did not awaken with the other orgs that fought against the Wild Force rangers." The rangers listen on intently. "The Orgs agenda is to destroy the environment and make this planet uninhabitable to humans."
"And what about Robo Knight?" Troy asks.
"That is the question I don't have the answer to," Gosei responds. "While you were fighting, I discussed the issue with Princess Shayla. She recognises the energy that Robo Knight emits, but cannot confirm who he is."
"Can we trust him?" Emma asks.
"I hope so Emma, I hope so. For now, we carry on fighting as we have done. I'm sure in time, Robo Knight's mission will become clear.
