A/N Thank you Zariah for your insightful comments and questions. As you are a guest, I can't personally answer most of them. I will say one of your ocs will be appearing in a few chapters. You can't have 2 unfortunately hon, but don't worry I loved them both. I would like to inform my readers that I am blind and have never seen stories where blind wizards, or creatures, go to school. Starspangledpumpkin does have a deaf character though. You should check out her awesome work.
Chapter 7:
Sirius and Remus
It was cold in here, so bone chillingly cold. Sirius felt like his hair was frosting to his head and his eye lashes gluing together. The dementors were back, stalking the halls and breathing those gasping, ragged breaths. Moony was a werewolf tonight. His onyx wolf charm was hot to the touch, displaying the wolf's emotions as he thrashed in the sell. Even Moony wasn't as violent as he could be.
Sirius changed into padfoot and padded closer to the bars of the sell, trying to look out better at his wolfen companion. In the sell on the other side, Bellatrix laughed madly and clapped her hands together. She was enjoying the enraged thrashings of the wolf. Sirius would yell at her for getting them into this place in the first place, but right now, he needed to be with Moony.
He did his best to send calming waves of magic towards the snarling wolf, drawing on his own reserves. It was something he and James were working on in their spare time. Now it was only he there with Moony, a Moony who betrayed them.
Moony hadn't betrayed them, Sirius told his angry side. Moony would never betray them of his own free will. Once they had reached Azkaban, Bellatrix had whispered conspiratorially to him that it had been Yaxley, who then summoned Voldemort who could hear the secret from Moony's lips himself. Yaxley had then fled for parts unknown. Nun of the aurors had yet to capture him, but they had captured Rabastan and Rodolphus Lestrange, as well as Barty Crouch junior, who didn't seem all that well.
Another cackling laugh sounded from Bellatrix's lips, distracting Sirius and making him flinch. A wave of despair crashed over him, before his anger crashed over him once more. He was innocent. Moony was innocent. Well, was Moony really innocent? Sirius decided he was. He had been under torture and malnutrition for days, maybe weeks. The strongest of men and women would crack under that pressure. Sirius had heard from Rodolphus Lestrange that Frank had gone insane under the crutiatus curse as he told Alice to take Nevil and run. Sirius fervently hoped that Alice and Nevil were safe somewhere, hidden or at Longbottom manor.
The hours crawled by so slowly, Sirius thought his beard had grown a few inches as he waited for Moony to transform back. Finally, the wolf began to shrink and turn back into a man, hastily reclothing himself. He turned toward Sirius and rested his head in his hands.
"What I wouldn't do for a stiff drink," he mumbled. "That was terrible. I really hope that Hollyhock and Harry are safe."
"You and me both, Moony," said Sirius, you and me both. I always thought that if I wasn't there for Harry, you could be godfather for him, but we're both locked up in this hell hole."
"I'm not allowed to be godfather, remember?" Moony reminded him. "I'm a werewolf. The ministry wouldn't take the documents even if we tried."
"I know," said Sirius, "But it would still be nice."
"Aww," said a mocking voice from the sell beside them, "The poor wolfy and my blood traitor cousin are crying like little babies. Little Potter is beyond your reach, and will probably be forever."
Bellatrix cackled and both men snarled. They did nothing, though. There wasn't any point in yelling back. It would accomplish nothing. Sirius reached through the bars of the sell and his long arm found the bars of Moony's. The two men clasped hands for the briefest of moments. They would whether this storm together, no matter what.
Elder Griffiths opened the window as an eagle owl swooped into his office. It bore a letter with an official seal which looked familiar. He took the letter, opened it and read the short missive. He nodded to himself, the white vines of his hair moving with the nod, swaying slightly in an imaginary breeze.
"So another inheritance is about to take place," he said in his dry, cracked voice. "I will inform the guards and send a younger elder to help tend to the boy. "I haven't seen a submissive male in over 200 years. I'm surprised I lived long enough to see it."
The ancient elder put the scroll away and sent the reply back with the eagle owl. He smiled to himself as he thought of the new submissive in Italy. In only 15.5 years, the girl going to Hogwarts would be receiving her own inheritance. He wondered if she was submissive or dominant. Either way, she would be getting her vines. He opened the special book and nodded. She was an indigo elf to be sure. He was very much looking forward to this.
A/N I know in one of the chapters I said Remus's charm was onyx and then granite. The granite was a mistake. I'm sorry everyone.
