I'm pleased to announce that I have gotten a wonderful Beta-Reader, Legacy of Hecate. Go check out her profile! You'll find it on my Favorite Authors list.
She's leaving. She's leaving today.
Raina had already known, apparently, longer than I have, which she had told when I found out. She said she wanted to protect my feelings, just in case she didn't have to go after all. This was not the case.
She was leaving this afternoon, which means I still had six hours with her. And they would be the best.
First, we would redecorate my room. It was a lot of work, but would be fun and distracting. What we need.
Raina helped me move all of the furniture to the center of the room. Then, we teleported everything I didn't need to a random bedroom, to sort later. Once we were finished, my room was considerably cleaner.
Next step, painting.
The walls were now the purest white, and my furniture a light lavender. Once they were pushed back, my room was ready. Raina flicked her wand to reorganize everything into the little areas, based on my drawing. It was done. Just like I imagined! ( Just read two chapters ago for the description of the bedroom. )
The process may sound very fast, but we spent three hours on this. Raina and I decided to rest our aching backs by cooking. Our counter is actually very high. If you are ten or eleven, about right below your heart is where it is.
We decided to make a quiche. The base of the quiche is eggs and milk, which make it very fluffy and of large quantity. Then, you add whatever you want to it. Raina and I went with chicken and mushrooms, a good combination. While our brunch was cooking, we played wizards' chess.
Time certainly flies when you're having fun. We did everything we could ever possibly want to do together, but I couldn't make it last. It was time.
The alarm started chiming, so we knew the healers were here. Raina and I hurried downstairs, to prevent them from taking a look at our house. I stopped myself. It was no longer that. It was my house, now.
The healers asked me to leave the room in a very not-polite way. I guess since Raina was the "guardian," I didn't have to be there.
My mind suddenly shifted to Dumbledore's letter and I remembered that I had to have somewhere to go. I didn't really have any friends, and I didn't want to seek residence at Hogwarts. I sighed. I would have to find a way to stay home.
Just then, I heard a whoosh. I ran downstairs, not caring about the scratch the railing gave me, and made it just in time to see a hand go through the fireplace.
She was gone.
At least they didn't think about the fact that I will be living alone. Oh, who am I kidding? I would give up everything just to say goodbye to her.
As I tried to read, in hope of trying to distract myself, I thought about Hogwarts, in two days. I had already packed, to save myself from thinking about...anything, really.
There I go again, thinking about things that make my head spin around and frustrate me to no end.
I threw the book to the other side of the room.
Sorry if this was too short. But hey, Hogwarts is coming up! If you haven't please vote for Kirrilee's house on the poll in my profile.
