9th Fight: Benefactors
While Gojira agonized over his bleeding shoulder, Gigan flew back around and knocked Gojira onto the ground crushing a few miniature trees in the process. As this was happening, Megalon used his Beast Killer Laser Beam to zap Jet Jaguar who was still lying on the ground.
"Looks like the tables have turned," Katsura observed. "While it seemed like Jet Jaguar was still able to fight despite his control device being destroyed, he's not faring well against Megalon's Beast Killer Laser Beam. And though Godzilla's flying kick managed to knock Gigan down, he retaliated by cutting Godzilla's shoulder mid-flight before knocking him down. Does this mean Godzilla and Jet Jaguar are done for?"
"Get up, Jet Jaguar!" Rokuro shouted. "I know you can win! You too, Godzilla!"
Hearing that, Jet Jaguar managed to get up. Raising his arms, he suddenly flew upwards and circled around Megalon, who tried to zap him but always missed. This caught Gigan's attention, who slammed into Jet Jaguar from behind and caused him to fall into a dip between the hills in the arena. Gojira then used his Atomic Breath to shoot Gigan down, who fell next to Jet Jaguar.
"Ooh, smart move on Godzilla's part to take a shot at Gigan while he was busy dealing with Jet Jaguar," Katsura stated. "Now unless Jet Jaguar or Gigan get up, it's down to Godzilla and Megalon. Whoever defeats the other first will be the winner of this match!"
"If that's the case, let's see you catch this, Godzilla," Megalon chuckled.
But as Megalon laughed, his mouth morphed into a pair of mandibles. From this, Megalon produced a round object that he fired in Gojira's direction. Instinctively, Gojira used his tail to swipe the object away which exploded midair sending both him and Megalon flying backward along with debris from the rocks that came apart.
"My, what a lucky strike for Godzilla!" Katsura responded excitedly. "If he was hit with the full force of Megalon's Geothermal Napalm, he would've been dead for sure! But now let's see if either of them survive this."
While Gojira managed to hold his ground despite the explosion, Megalon was a little wobbly. Then as the debris cleared, Jet Jaguar was revealed to be standing and he managed to bind Megalon's drill arms behind his hands.
"Oh, I don't believe it!" Katsura exclaimed. "Jet Jaguar is back up, and he apparently used the debris to sneak up behind Megalon and grab him. Could this be it for Megalon?"
As Megalon struggled, Jet Jaguar nodded to Gojira. In turn, Gojira figured what Jet Jaguar meant and immediately went for another flying kick straight into Megalon. The impact made Megalon groan as Gojira took a few steps back and went for a second one. After that, Jet Jaguar let go of Megalon who fell headfirst onto the hill-like floor of the arena. Gojira immediately stood on top of him and let out the same bellowing roar from the previous night, which got the crowds cheering.

In the locker-room, Miki immediately took Gojira over to the doctor's office where Misato and Besuke examined Gojira's shoulder wound. But after they cleaned the blood, they discovered the cut was already partially healed.
"Looks like you're one of the few Kaiju that can regenerate," Misato noted. "But I wouldn't overexert this ability too much in the future, because the more severe the wound is the longer it will take to heal."
"Can I even come back from the dead?" Gojira asked as he returned to his normal human form.
"Maybe, but I wouldn't try it," replied Besuke. "Now I'll see about repairing your robot friend."
Standing next to Gojira, Jet Jaguar nodded politely and sat on the examination table while Besuke looked at the scratches on his forearms.
"Did Gigan and Megalon already leave?" Gojira questioned. "You took them away before me and Jet Jaguar left the arena."
"They're resting in that room," Misato said as she thumbed toward a closed door to the right of the examination table. "You sure did a number on them, Godzilla."
"Yeah, based on what I saw on the television screen in the locker-room," Miki concurred. "By the way, Jinguji-San, what do you know about the people who run this fight club?"
"Not a lot, I'm afraid," Misato replied. "And you don't have to call me 'Jinguji-San'. 'Misato' will do just fine, since that helps distinguish me from my father."
"Oh, all right, then," Miki replied.
After Gojira's wound was patched up and Jet Jaguar was repaired, the two of them along with Miki and Rokuro were escorted by Namikawa to a row of seats above the arena that were below the shadowy figures that cheered for them. Here, there were several individuals seated including Angiras and the girl with the blue goggles Gojira saw the previous night. This time, she wasn't naked and instead wore a brown cloak that went down to her waist, a short orange skirt, and black fur-lined boots.
"Glad you could make it tonight for the tag-team match, Godzilla," Angiras said snidely while Gojira and Miki reluctantly sat in the seats next to him, since the others were occupied. "Otherwise, the match would've been delayed and that wouldn't have been fun for anyone."
"Why do you care more about how others see us rather than my personal feelings?" Gojira demanded irritably.
"Because that's what this is all about," Angiras responded. "We may be fighting to relieve ourselves of the burdens M puts upon us Kaiju, but mostly we're here to entertain these benefactors."
Gojira looked up at the seats above them and noticed several individuals wearing strange uniforms that were silver in color with slight variations between them. Though one group stood out that wore orange uniforms, and they didn't look too happy.
"Those guys were supporting Gigan, and so they naturally got pissed off when you took him out," Angiras answered.
"Do they make bids on us?" Gojira wondered.
"Sort of. They make 'bets for control,' according to Misato."
"That's what she said to me too."
"Will you two keep it down?" The girl with the blue goggles snapped. "The next match is about to start."
"Sorry," Gojira apologized in a sarcastic manner.
Immediately, the lights of the arena dimmed and the green hills that Gojira and Jet Jaguar fought Gigan and Megalon on was replaced by a coastal city.
