Chapter 15. Teddy Bear.

Throughout the night, slowly Kenpachi sobered up…Jin did not.

"Heeheehee! Princess is acting really funny!~" Yachiru was sat pointing, watching along with Ken-chan, Yumi and Baldy. Jin was up on a table at this point, downing a bottle of sake whilst cheered on by other members. She then threw down and smashed the empty bottle that was in her hand.

"WOO!" She cried out proudly.

"...Don't you think someone should to take her home?" Yumichika asked a little concerned.

"Who Jin?...Naaah she's fine, let her be." Ikkaku answered, taking another drink of sake.

"Who wants a shooooooow?" Jin sang as she started to pull her robe to one side to show a bit more leg.

"Nope. She's plastered." Their Captain said flatly.

Kenpachi went over to put a stop to her antics.

"Come on. I'm taking you home." He beckoned with his finger.

She turned with another bottle in hand, "...Huh?"

"No, not 'huh?' more 'thank you Captain that's very nice of you.'" He said sternly.

Jin narrowed her eyes, "You're not planning on taking advantage of me now are you?"

Kenpachi looked annoyed, "What? No! That's just creepy, I'm taking you home before you start making a fool out of yourself."

"Pfffffft...well I'm not going, I'm having fuuuun!" She announced spinning in a circle.

The Captain stood a moment looking un-amused.

"Wha? Hey! Wait a sec-" Jin started to feel dizzy.

Before she knew what was happening, Kenpachi decided to take action and swiftly threw her over his shoulder. She then started to beat his back helplessly with her small hands.

"Heeey! Put me down! I'm not ready to go yet! I'm having fuuun! The Captains boring! Boooooooooo-"

Kenpachi only sighed heavily as he turned to leave.

"Heeeeey, did you know? You can die in your sleep if…if…like if you choke on your vomit…you knoooow? From drinking too much-"

"Just be quiet already!"

Kenpachi was still carrying Jin over his shoulder, her derrière sitting by his face. Jin hadn't stopped talking for a moment since they left the party. It was starting to get on his nerves.

"Hey…Ken…Kenpachi…?" She sounded a little worried.

He stopped walking, "What is it?"

"I think I'm gonna be sick…"

The Captain grimaced as he went to a grassy patch just past over the railing, so he could let her down. Jin stood bent over, waiting for it to pass. She suddenly heaved, emptying mostly of what was just booze. She scrambled to try and lift her hair back so it wouldn't get caught in it. Kenpachi noticed her struggling and grabbed her shiny locks for her.

He wrinkled his nose trying not to look, "Urgh...hey, I got it. Don't worry."

"Th…thanks…" Jin replied quietly.

She heaved another couple times, and then stood still to allow whatever might've been left swirling in her stomach to come out.

"Why'd you drink so much anyway?" Kenpachi asked softly, "I know you can put it away but, even for you that was a lot…"

Jin stared at the ground, "Hey you had a lot too…"

"Yeah and I'm sober now! I can handle it, you're too small!" He scolded.

"Heheh…your feet are so big compared…" Jin placed her foot beside his, looking curiously.

Kenpachi was caught off guard, "What?"

"It's RIDICULOUS! AHAHA-" She broke into laughter, gasping for air.

The Captain rolled his eye, as he let her hair go, "Obviously they're bigger, you idiot…you alright now?"

Jin stood up fully to pat him on the back, "Yeah…yeah, I'm great…thanks…you're a great guy you know that…?"

She wobbled along the grass to make her way back through the railings. Kenpachi watched on looking a little unimpressed, as she attempted to squeeze between them. She moved her head through first…then her waist…then…

"Oops…oh no…"

The Captain sighed.

"Kenpachi…I'm stuck-" She said, as she tried to wriggle her bum through the bars.

"Yeah I can see that, idiot." He snorted, "What did you expect?"

He continued to watch her struggle a little, until he figured what the easiest solution was.

"It's like a bad porno isn't it? AHAHAHA!" Jin joked.

Kenpachi frowned.

Boomf

He kicked her through, managing to break the rails on either side of her too.

"OW! KENPACHI! LOOK WHAT YOU DONE!" Jin exclaimed loudly, sprawled on the floor, "You really are too careless…who's gonna clean that up nooooow?"

"It's your fault you got stuck!" He bit back.

As she scrambled her way up to stand, Kenpachi scooped her up 'bridal style'.

"Pain in the ass." He muttered.

"That's just mean…" Jin pouted.

They made their way back to Jin's living quarters. Jin still in his arms as she hung around his neck, leaning her head into his muscular chest. Kenpachi started to make his way to her bed.

"Ah-ah…wait…I need some water first."

The Captain let her down gently to get some water.

"Right, now off to bed-" He ordered.

"I need to brush my teeth before that." She pleaded.

Kenpachi grumbled, "Bed, now."

"In a seeeecoooond!" She said petulantly, as she began brushing her teeth.

The Captain sat waiting on her bed, slowly loosing his patience. He actually had a lot thanks to Yachiru. Jin clumsily stepped out her bathroom, looking down at her robes mumbling to herself. She then started to pull at the tie on it.

"Whoa, whoa, just what do you think you're doing!?" Kenpachi said flustered.

"Huh?" Jin looked up innocently, "I just need to change into my nightgown for bed..."

"No, you don't! Just get to bed." He stressed.

"This is too thick and heavy, I'll never get to sleep." She continued undressing.

Kenpachi turned away embarrassed, trying not to sneak a look.

"Could you pass my nightie please? It's underneath my pillow…" Jin asked politely.

He fumbled awkwardly as he looked, then held up a silky sky-blue piece of clothing.

"You mean this strip of fabric!?" He said baffled.

"Yeah that's it!" She called triumphantly.

Kenpachi sat dumbfounded for a moment, before throwing it over his shoulder to Jin behind him. She giggled as she changed, watching the back of his head.

Jin giggled, "Heeheehee! For a big tough guy, you're kinda shy aren't you?"

Kenpachi grunted in annoyance.

"It's cute."

"You did not just call me 'cute'." He scoffed.

Once she was in her nightgown she crawled into her bed under the covers. Kenpachi then got up to make his way out. As he reached the door way her voice echoed in his memory…

"You can die in your sleep if…if…like if you choke on your vomit…you knoooow? From drinking too much-"

He then turned back to look at Jin, who was lying with her back on the bed. The Captain exhaled in agitation.

"Hey, you're supposed to sleep on your front." He called to her.

Jin looked up a little sleepily then rolled onto her side.

What a pain in the ass. He thought.

Kenpachi went back to physically move her, so that she would lie on her front. But he was met with resistance.

"This is fiiiiiiine…don't worry about it…" She mumbled.

"Move over." He demanded.

"Wha…?"

The Captain then proceeded to move his way onto the bed. He then re-arranged her so she was lying on her front, using one arm to keep her down whilst lying on top of the covers.

"What are you doing?" Jin asked.

"Making sure you don't choke or some dumb shit...obviously." He stated, staring up at the ceiling.

Jin couldn't help but smile to herself.

"Aaaaaawww…you're worried about me aren't youuuu?"

"Tch, no, I just don't want to have to explain that one of my subordinates died of something so stupid!" He hissed.

"Heehee…suuuuuure Captain." She whispered sarcastically.

Jin then started to giggle again.

"Sooooo, how big is it? Come on, you can tell me..."

Kenpachi blushed slightly, "What? The hell you talkin' about?"

"I bet you're hung like a horse! Am I riiiiiiiight? I am aren't I!?" She continued.

He held his face with one hand, "Just go to sleep…"

"This isn't comfy at all...I can't." Jin pestered.

"Do you have a better idea?!" Kenpachi boomed.

Jin shuffled awkwardly, as she worked her way towards his chest, pulling his arm around her into more of a hug. Still lying face down of course.

"There. That's better…" She said satisfied.

"You happy now?"

"Yes, now you're like a biiiiiiiiiiiiiig scary teddy bear..." she smiled as she cuddled into him more, "But instead of a teddy bear you're just like an actual wild bear! Heeheehee!"

Kenpachi held onto her, feeling a little awkward as he did so.

He didn't really 'cuddle' - ever.

Yachiru never wanted or asked for one, so he never done it (Jin supposed his 'piggybacks' were an alternative). It felt weird to him. Weirder still was that…he kind of liked it.

Jin was still talking.

"You know, cause everyone's terrified of you."

"Uuuurgh…" he groaned, tired.

Jin started to yawn, "But ironically...I couldn't feel any safer around you."

Kenpachi perked up slightly, "You do?"

"Yeah, I do. You make me happy." She said, hugging a little tighter.

He smiled a little, "Che…"

"You have a small squishy part inside of you!" She began to prod at him, "It might be small...but it's there, and it's soooooo squishy! You know?"

He objected, "Tch, I think you got the wrong guy."

She yawned again, "Admit it, you just need some love."

"Hmph…"

He looked down at her sleepy face, content against his robe.

"Your heartbeat is so loud...I like it, it's nice..." Jin said sleepily.

"Jin?"

She fell asleep, listening to its slow and steady rhythm.

"Tsk, now she's asleep." Kenpachi sighed.

He looked down, noticing the stains from her lipstick left on his sleeve. Kenpachi started to wonder, if she was right.

Maybe he did need love.
