A/N: Happy 2021 and I'm sorry that this is late, I planned on finishing it before New Year's Eve but then I hurt my index finger on my right hand and needed to take a break from writing.

December 30th 2012…

New York was busy but everyone from Peach Creek loved visiting it for a lot of times out of the year and that included New Year's Rockin Eve.

It was not as cold as Peach Creek but still cold so Emma and Kevin were bundled up in winter clothing as the two were in the lobby of the Plaza Hotel and drinking cocoa as they looked through shopping magazines, Kevin's a sporting goods one and Emma's a Macy's one… and Emma smiled as Kevin lightly kissed her neck.

"I see you eying that off shoulder red top…" Kevin whispered.

"I know we have permission to buy anything we want to but I don't want to scare my parents by wearing it around them… when it's just us, that's another matter." Emma replied quietly before they kissed.

In Macy's, Emma showed the shirt to Ana and Evan… who approved it as it was a special occasion.

"Just remember to bring your coat and scarf, it'll be cold outside." Evan responded before they hugged. "And remember to move slowly with yours and Kevin's new relationship." He whispered before they let go.

Emma would have to ask him how he found out but that would be later.

After getting showered, dressed up and applying her makeup, Emma waited til her hair was 60% dried to apply heat protectant to it and brush it out before clipping it into sections.

She carefully straightened it section by section with the Remington D-2012 TStudio Collection Ceramic Hair Dryer, straightening attachment and a round brush until it was straight without her needing to use a flat iron… and she shut the dryer off and unplugged it to let it cool before going into the hotel room.

"You look much better, less sleep deprived, Sis." Eddy responded before they hugged for a bit.

It Must've Been Love by Roxette played on a nearby radio in the hotel room and Kevin and Emma danced to it once they were alone and the two kissed as they held each other… but decided against taking things further than kissing and other affectionate behavior as they wanted to wait until they were ready.

They put on their coats and scarves before they met up with the others and made their way to Times Square, Kevin wrapping his right arm around Emma's shoulders before they kissed.

Emma's perspective, a few hours later…

Thinking back to the summer when we were last here, Kevin and I were only friends… so much has changed now.

"Doll?" Kevin responded before offering me a cup of coffee, which I accepted and carefully drank as we needed to stay alert.

"Thanks, Babe." I replied before I touched my nose to his… and I knew that Eddy had rolled his eyes because Lee had said "Behave, Eddy.".

From past experience of the wrath of a Kanker sister, it's best to not cross them when they tell you to behave.

I also saw Jonny cover Plank's eyes, to protect his innocence as Jonny claimed… I don't have the courage to tell him that when he gets older, he'll need to leave Plank at home.

I didn't want to but I had to leave my horse plushie Shimmer at home when I was younger than Jonny… Shimmer was given to me by Kevin when we were little and Warren had been arrested for throwing the dodgeballs at me, Double D and Eddy and injuring us when we were 5 years old.

I'll never forgive Warren for that.

"10!"

"Countdown time already?" I responded.

"9!"

"Yep, Doll." Kevin replied.

"8!"

"7!"

"6!"

"5!"

"4!"

"3!"

"2!"

"1!"

"Happy new year!" We all exclaimed loudly once we saw 2013 light up on the huge LED board before Kevin pulled me closer and we kissed as Auld Lang Syne blared throughout the area, followed by New York, New York by Frank Sinatra.

"Busted!" We all heard and then saw Warren and Vylet.

"What are you two doing here?!" Dad responded angrily.

"Why are we here?! Why are you letting her do whatever she wants to when you absolutely hated it whenever I brought Vylet over to the house?!" Warren retorted.

"You're serious?! That's what this is all about, the reason Vylet broke a window at my home while the kids were enjoying their Halloween party?!" Alena replied furiously as she shielded Nazz.

I had a feeling Nazz wouldn't keep what happened a secret but why should she, why should any of us?

"Em, is that true?" Mom asked

"It was Vylet. I found her bracelet and confronted her on why she was there, turns out she's mad about her family's old house being destroyed. The house that was built on the mass graveyard that was disturbed because of Vylet's shrew of a grandmother who did whatever she wanted because she had the money and knew the people who would do so without so much as a question." I explained.

Vylet turned livid and tried to hit me but I kicked the baseball bat out of her hands before tackling and restraining Vylet.

"Touch me again and I'll break your arm!" I yelled at Warren, who was taken aback by that before I lifted Vylet off of the freezing ground and threw her at Warren. "Take your bitchy ex and go!" I responded before they left… and I felt my dad's right hand touch my left shoulder before we, Eddy and Mom hugged.

"Those karate lessons from when you were little paid off, kiddo." Mom responded.

"She's right. Now let's get your foot checked out by a doctor." Dad replied.

Not the way I wanted to start 2013 but have to.

Kevin's perspective…

January 1st 2013 was what my IPhone 4 read when I looked at the screen… and then looked at Emma, who's right foot was wrapped in an Ace bandage.

"Happy New Year, Babe." Emma responded before we kissed.

"Happy New Year, Doll. Now let's try to get through the rest of the year without getting hurt, okay?" I replied.

"Have to try. Gotta say though, the rest of winter will feel weird without seeing the decorations and trees up all over town." Emma responded… she's right, it will feel weird.

By the time we get to mid winter and even into early spring, we all start getting fed up with the cold weather.

But we all have ways of getting through this part of the year.

January 3rd 2013, Third person perspective…

Edge Of Seventeen by Stevie Nicks played on the radio as Emma worked on painting on a canvas.

And Rian smiled as he watched, seeing that Emma had painted a picture of what Peach Creek was like in the late 17th century when he was alive.

It Must've Been Love by Roxette started playing and Emma sang along to it… and saw the snowfall increase right as she saw the door open and saw Kevin before they quickly kissed.

Emma quickly used paint remover to get the paint off of her hands and then washed them before untying her apron and hanging it up.

"Beautiful painting, Doll. Our hometown too." Kevin responded before they kissed.

"It is, from the late 1600s. I found one of the older pictures and wondered why it didn't look complete… then I remembered from finding a picture from 1695 that the clock tower wasn't damaged until 1697." Emma explained.

Rian's eyes widened as he remembered exactly what happened after summer had just ended in 1695.
