-Ela POV-
"Look out!" I hear Marius call. Not a second later, I feel him knock me away, as well as the distinct sound of a bullet hitting flesh. Looking over, I see Marius's limp body lying at my feet. My eyes fill up with tears instantaneously, as I put a bullet through the crook's head. I drop down next to Marius, rolling him on his back, pressing my hand to the wound, not caring that it get covered in his blood.
"Marius, stay with me!" I shout, my tears falling onto his chest. "Don't leave me!" He coughs before speaking.
"I...I'm s-sorry" he got out, before going limp. I start crying out "NO!" over and over, doing anything I can to keep him with me, however, I am too late.
"NOOOO!" I woke up in tears and jolted upright in bed. I winced at the pain in my lower back as my tears flowed down my face. I drew my legs up,and rested my face on my knees, crying into them.
"Heyy, sis, it's okay. You're okay" I hear someone say, and a hand on my back. I peek up, hoping to see Marius. Alas, it was only my sister, Zofia.
"What...a-about Mar-ius" I asked, choking up. Zofia chuckled.
"Marius is fine, Ela. He's okay. It was you we were worried about" Zofia told me. Sniffling, I looked up at her. It was only then that I realized I was not in my dorm, but the HQ medical wing. Slightly confused, I tried stretching, but felt a searing pain in my back again. Zofia immediately lay me back down. "You need as much rest as you can get, sis."
"What happened?" I asked, my tears drying up.
"You and Marius put an end to a crime streak." she smiled. I knit my eyebrows.
"What happened to ME, Zofia? Why am I in medical?" Zofia sighed.
"You took a shot to your back. Nothing bad, just hit flesh. Gus said you need a few weeks to recover, though" I sighed, and lay down completely in bed, wincing as I lay.
"Where is Marius?" I ask. I wanted to see him badly, partly to make sure he really was alright, but also because I miss him. Zofia stands up next to me.
"I'll get him, if that's what you want?" she asked. I nodded.
"If you wouldn't mind?" I ask just to be sure. Zofia shakes her head, primising it was no big deal. Five minutes later, she comes back in with Marius in tow.
"Ela! Thank god you're alright!" Marius exclaims, coming over and giving me a gentle hug. I hug back, smiling that I'm in his arms again. When we pull away, he looks at me with a worried look. "We were so worried about you"
"Babe, I'm alright. I promise. I just need time to heal" I promised. Marius nodded, wiping a tear that formed under his eye.
"Anything you need, just let me know." he promised. I smirked.
"As soon as I get out of here, we need another date. The last one kinda…" I trailed off.
"Sucked?" Marius chuckled. Smiling, I nodded.
"A bit. Being with you was amazing, but the whole shootout thing was not the best." I said, flicking my thumb back around my back. Marius laughed.
"Never is. How are you feeling?" Marius asked.
"Like shit. But better, since you're here now" I smiled along with Marius.
"Soooooo" Zofia muttered, clearly feeling like the embarrassed third wheel that she was right now. "Should I leave or…?" she prompted. Marius shook his head.
"Nah, you're fine. Besides, I take it you'll want to be by your sister." 'Wow' I thought. 'He is seriously the best person I could've asked for'. Zofia nodded, and took a seat on the chair in the resting wing, turning on the TV. I smiled; I had both my sister and my boyfriend here to take care of me while I recovered from the bullet wound. It'll take a fair amount of time to recover, but with these two, It'll feel like barely a day.
