Bible Teaching:

Matthew 5:17-30 - Law, Scribes and Pharisees

Welcome Brothers and Sisters to another look towards Matthew. Once more we pick up with Jesus teaching the crowd from his sermon, we now take a look at the next section where Jesus speaks about the law of Scribes and Pharisees, how we should live beyond the law. In a much deeper look in Matthews as Jesus spoke of the prophets before him how they have told of his fulfillment in the prophetic words from the prophets. See in those days most didn't believe that Jesus was son of God. There have been those who truly did believe, but even then some who didn't support this were mostly the Pharisees and Scribes. This is because of their own ways of what God is saying to them. They had what was called the mosaic laws, something that was past down through generations to generations. It was through this some of the laws that were once ten commandants had also increase. Some of them didn't make sense and some contradict what Lord Almighty is saying to them.

Here we are told mostly about how Jesus describe about the Law and what he has to say about it. In Matthews 5:17-19 Jesus spoke of the law how he didn't intend on breaking the law, but fulfilling the law. He also has describe how if anyone were to break one of these commandants(Mainly the 10) and teaches how he would be least in Kingdom of Heaven, but those whosoever practice and teaches the law will be great in the kingdom of Heaven. Further along we are told of how Jesus explains how the commandant of thou shall not kill, and how we are in danger and judge for killing. But Jesus said if you are angry at your brother without cause you shall be danger of judgement. He also say if you say to his brother Raca(Meaning foolish), then said if we say someone is a fool we are in danger of judgement.

We are then told how we shouldn't be angry with those we hate or considered our adversary. While the Bible has different translations, we should consider what Jesus is saying, cause in this case Jesus is telling if your his children of god, we shouldn't hate one another or without case. This is brought up more then once in some terms or ways of his ministry. He may speak about it differently, but you can find that Jesus never held any restriction or favor towards anyone. For everyone is invited to him and hears his words of truth. This is Jesus love for many who are sinners, even those we considered the worse of the worse. That may sound unbelievable to most, but in Jesus name, nothing is impossible.

In Matthew 5:20-30, Spoke most mostly about to not get angry or kill those who we considered adversary. But he also spoke of Adultery, how many of us and I mean everyone not just men and women alike, but also young and old. In many ways Jesus spoke of if we think of it, and have place these thoughts in our hearts, that is also sin. Our minds may contain many things including large amount of knowledge. But our minds can be truly sinful and wicked if we don't consider what we do and how we act on them. Jesus even mentions from 29-30 of if any part of our body were to sin, it's best to pluck our eyes out or cut our hands off. Now he didn't really mean it in literal sense, but in a way to make point of what he's saying.

Folks we need to consider what we say, watch, and think in our daily lives. Because if we don't, we're in danger of much sin. In this day and age that is so easy to access our forefathers would be shock by how much has change and somewhat despise what we been doing. There are many things we need to consider and how we should act on them. While I could go on and on about so much to talk about, God wants us to understand the main point, and I can pray that when I write in these chapters that his wisdom is what's place in your heart, or has pulled your strings in some way. We only have two options after this life, and if those that follow Christ can go to Heaven, then there will be those that will go to Hell. I say this as reminder to everyone we need to make our choice, and with the election along with Israel going through some troubles, we need to be considering where we stand and if we are sure of ourselves in Christ or this world.
